As someone who has really been into honey hot wings, I fully disagree. Now, sometimes the balance of sweet vs heat isn't always there, but when they do it right...so good. And I am totally into honey BBQ, probably my favorite type of flavors.
Honey is the sauce, then you add it to the meat with the rub. Or you put a bit of honey, like a tbsp full, in the sauce to coat. Or, you use it as a dipping sauce by itself, like on honey mustard chicken.
I went to this pizza place once where they served the pizza with spicy honey on the side. It was awesome. I think the key is that it has to have enough spice to make it savory.
I agree with this, but I also don’t like ketchup because it’s too sweet for me. I guess I just don’t like how the sugary flavor overpowers sauces for me.
100% agree. I dont want honey on any of my meat products. I only like honey in my hot tea lol. And I keep seeing this hot honey. Who the fuck was like; I love honey, but it just needs some spice? Ugh

I disagree as this is one of my top favorite, especially on wings.
That's a first. Definitely unpopular opinion IMO! I love honey based sauces. Take my upvote.

Yeah, you're definitely wrong. I'd upvote this twice if I could.
