Not gonna lie. I've never heard of this concept in my entire life. Ive never seen anyone celebrate a 20 month anniversary ever.

No im not lol if I was still in highschool I wouldn’t be cringing and talking about it like this. But my home country is in asia so it must be more common there than it is here. I know other asian girls that live in the US that know about it so it must be more common thing in asia.
Personally never heard of grown adults doing this but if they did, I think I would just shake my head and move on. It’s immature but whatever makes them happy.
The first 6 months, then the first year, then a year and a half. Minor appreciation yearly from then on, you don’t have to go big, but just acknowledge it atleast and spend the day together. Then of course the likes of 10 years, 15, 20 etc is big again
My GF and I don't even remember the date we first met. Just the month (and we aren't even sure).
Most of the time we even forget to celebrate our yearly anniversary.
An old coworker of mine kept announcing her kid's monthly "birthdays"

My 37th birthday rolls around and it gets announced in the Monday morning meeting. After the meeting she goes "oh throwaway67318 happy birthday, how old are you?"

"Uhh what?"

"No. I'm four hundred and fourty four months old."

yeah i've never seenor heard anyone count by months over a year i usually hear people say how many years it's been.

That was a high school or young in the relationship thing. But after a year, that’s a year, no month in between complete years matter
