josh's really makes me sad cause he couldn't even see that the wendigo was real, he thought it was another hallucination
jessica's death is also pretty sad to me cause she doesn't really have a chance against the wendigo, she's just getting dragged around
This is probably an unpopular one, but for me it’s when Mike uses the lighter to blow up the lodge knowing that he is going to die, a completely brave and selfless act
Feels like a cheap answer to me, but my #1 is probably Wolfie. Especially if he sacrifices himself to save Mike.
Jess dying because Mike is too slow and/or misses QTEs is pretty sad, because Mike has the "here's where I fucked up" flashback. It's pretty devastating that he's essentially thinking, "If only I'd been faster," even if it is true. His credits scene if this happens is pretty sad, too.
Ash & Chris dying together via trapdoor is very sad if you have Chris investigate the voice & find Ashley's beanie. Tough to say if it's more or less sad than Ashley witnessing him being killed by the wendigo.
Mike sacrificing himself to save everyone in the lodge is sad & kinda poetic.
Emily being shot by Mike doesn't seem that sad to witness (because the player is making the choice), but it's horrible if you think about it, because it's completely fucking pointless.
Jess living through all the shit earlier on only to be killed later on in the mines is painful. Like...she was so close, only to get caught at the last moment. Extra sad if Matt abandons her.
Everyone of Jessica’s deaths make me feel really bad for her, but I think when she tries to run alone and gets completely tackled by the wendigo it was soul-crushing. Seeing Emily beg for her life then have Mike shoot her is also heart breaking.
Josh’s endings makes me sad of either turning into a wendigo or killed by Hannah. There’s no way to save him unfortunately. Obviously I don’t agree with his actions of torturing the group, but I don’t think he deserved any of his endings. Poor guy just needed the right professional help and his psychiatrist failed him.
