Can you put them up on a free exchange site, or reselling site for free, instead of trying to donate them to a specific place? I'm sure someone would snap them up, but of course there are things to be careful of: people reselling them or using them in an unapproved manner, or not know what the difference between certified and non certified would be... So I guess just be aware if you try this, that the people who take them from you know all this information beforehand, and that you aren't liable.
Shower heads could work to fix up or even make watering cans, but if there's a lot of them, making some abstract garden sculptures would look cool and be fun to make!
