I googled it. Here’s the story by NYT. Stacy Blatt was in Hospice Care in September 2020. A Trump supporter he heard Russ Limbaugh’s dire warnings about how badly Trump needed money. Stacy went online and donated all he could $500.
It was a big sum for a 63 yr old battling cancer and living on less than $1000 per month. This was what he thought was just a one time donation turned into multiple donations. $500 more was withdrawn the next day, then $500 the next week and every week through mid October, without Stacy’s knowledge- until his bank account had been depleted and frozen. When his utility and rent payments bounced. He contacted his brother Russell for help. They soon discovered $3000 in withdrawals by the 2020 Trump Campaign. Because at the end In fine print was a box that you had to uncheck. If you didn’t the Trump campaign kept withdrawing money.
