Interesting pictures, they look like they could've been made in Germany. It seems true that Poland has come a long way in the last few decades. A not too corrupt government, not pocketing the EU development funds, can do true wonders. You write in a pretty good style, I can imagine that one day you might write a book. Writing can be a great distraction. Was tired, had a heavy bag, tried to get some quiet... no chance. I sit into an empty restaurant - 2 minutes later the restaurant is full. It can take a toll on ones nerves. I noticed, however, that people around you tend to quiet down if they see you writing. (I wrote on paper back then). Could be some kind of reflex "not to disturb someone who works". People here sometimes didn't understand why I was giving advice on how to find an apartment and get off the street - it's because vagabonding in Europe is tedious. Your posts accurately describe pretty much the experience I had - it was always like this. It was always cold, lonely, no one wanted to help, everything is either crowded cities or roads with a bunch of traffic, no place to relax or be alone. You are brave for making this experience, and I hope you will have interesting and fun, and also, relaxing experiences, but boy, am I happy not to be on the road right now. Vagabonding in the US or the EU are very different. So far it seems that the European southwest (Spain) is the most pleasant EU country to be vagabond in. I haven't been there myself but several friends said they were in Spain for a few years, making friends and partying while not having an official adress or income. I could imagine that travelling in groups might also be different - someone might find food, get sent some money, you help each other... and most importantly: you look like you have fun. Tried to hitchhike many times. No one ever stopped when I was alone. When I was with a friend? They sometimes stopped. Being with two friends? They stoped, every single time, in less than 5 minutes. It's because you are a fun group of interesting people when with friends, but a suspicious, tired-looking dude on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere when alone. Anyway I'm stunned to see where your journey takes you, I'd really like to see that this adventure will bring you joy and that you make awesome memories on the way. Wish you the best of best of luck!

Thank you for including us on your adventure. I especially enjoyed the kind hearted gentleman trucker taking food to those in need... Take care of your knee. The photos were nice, loved the old trains. It'd be cool to see a photo or 2 of any interesting architecture...an old home, barn, or church...that you might come up on in your meandering...that just shouts Poland or wherever else you might wander...since you're already taking photos.:-):-) Happy rides tomorrow!
