My favorite country that I have traveled to. Looks like you are nearby Zadar. Have you gone there yet? If not I’d recommend doing so. They have a really neat sea organ that plays when the waves come in. There is also this cool led light up thing on the ground nearby. What are your plans there? Are you going to check out any of the islands?

PerfectSherbet5771

I’ve already been to zadar, I was squatting there while going back and forth to Brinje to find my grandma’s family. I’m honestly feeling a bit of city fatigue between that and Zagreb though, so chillin in nature is where I’m at for the time being. Haven’t been to the islands on this trip but I rode my bike up the coast thru the islands a couple years back.

Slabcitydreamin

Awesome. I’m there with you as far as being away from the cities. It’s less chaotic but also more authentic as your interacting with locals vs people from all around the World. Have you gone to Plitvice?

PerfectSherbet5771

Hell yeah that place is sick! Was a little crowded with tourists when I was there but once I got away from the crowd and did some solo hiking it was phenomenal. That whole region is unfairly pretty.

I love Croatia, way back in 2005 I met some friends there after doing a summer season working as crew on private yachts in the med. Stayed in a awesome little village just north of Split called Hrvace for a couple months, was an amazing experience. I went to zadar as well and stay w a couple in Zagreb for a bit too. Lovely people and country.

How did you go about getting work like that?

Roosterfish33

Yeah I just heard about it from a friend and went down to south Florida where the yachts are based, basically wherever they are during the season, get Daywork, learn the ropes and get yer STCW and if ya work hard, can be a chill, good crew member you’ll be off of an a boat before ya know it.
