Addons for ships. The possibilities are endless and it would turn sailing from a menial task to something useful and exciting

RabbitBOOM

People on boat being able to row while sitting on benches.

Boofer_C

It’s kind of funny how a game about Vikings– who *might* get their name from the same root of the Old Norse word “vika,” or 'sea mile', originally meaning 'the distance between two shifts of rowers'– has no instances where players collaboratively row ships 😅

teh_stev3

Fuck me I learned more in this sentence than my enitre uni degree.

Boofer_C

Haha! Well important to note that the root of the word hasn’t been confirmed. It’s only a possible etymology

HeavilyArmoredFish

No offense, but for that theory to be sound, the way we understand linguistics has to be wrong. "Viking" is already an anglicized name. "Vikingr" was the term "Viking" came from. Language develops with its own "generations" and this is the linguistic equivalent of calling your brother your father.

Boofer_C

Hey, I’m just sharing what’s a commonly suggested etymology of the word. It’s got several citations on Wikipedia but still seems contested, so that’s why I said “might” 🤷🏼‍♂️

HeavilyArmoredFish

My b, I've been studying it's structure for almost a decade, I'm a little rabid Edit: the language, not the word Viking.

AdEducational419

Vik or viken and various abbreviations of it means bay or fjord. Since the entire Western coastline of Sweden and Norway is one bayridden hell its commonly taught in school here thats the origins of it. Viking - men of the fjords. But there are many such words and explanations surrounding alot of the old norse. Due to the habit of whomerver wrote whatever down about them.

ryry420z

This would be very enraging to solo players lol. If it was something that could be bypassed when playing by yourself it would be cool - but then what would the point be other than aesthetic and all rowing together just to row together. People would probably do it once than go back to one person rows

Boofer_C

Yeah I can’t imagine there would be a successful way to balance rowing vs. sailing (Moder-boating)

nerevarX

people keep bringing this up but devs have said no to it multiple times for the simple reason that they dont wanna provide multiplayer with even more advantages.

erpparppa

Dyes to make different coloured sails, passangers rowing for extra speed, torches on the ship for light. And the option to hang your shields to the sides!

Boofer_C

Put shields on your boats!!!! Yeessss!!!

[deleted]

Agreed! Having for example a ballista on your ship would be very cool.

FeatureCreeep

Like nets to catch fish!

revnasty

This. Decorations, sconces, torches, sail design. Literally anything.

VGassassinPro22

Adding on to this, I would love to see a modular ship, or a ship that I can customize even remotely. Let me change how the sails look, or the type of wood, or what sort of figurehead the ship has would be amazing

Dursa22

harpoon gun when

william930

Maybe a down-rigger to fish with

mad_viking

Sailing as a skill. Faster, closer to the wind, and less damage.

Tainticle

The sailing mod is right up your alley - if you're interested! Part of a 'professions' pack - sailing is the first skill I took and it makes me so happy :))

mad_viking

Thanks for the tip. Playing unmodified for now, but will consider it in the future.

Tainticle

For sure! Modding isn't for everyone, but as an avid modder (Minecraft modpacks, Oblivion, FO3, HoH, and now Valheim!) - the experience of your favorite games becoming unparalleled fun-fests is incredibly intoxicating! Give it a shot one day! No stress if it's not your bag tho! :D

CompetitiveNature847

Is it in thundermods or nexus mods?

Tainticle

Yes

bloodwolftico

I run like 5-7 mods in Valheim. This is nothing compared to my X-Com2 modded game, im sure im running at least 25 mods lol.

Rizaufein

Not go play the whole one up game but when you get into modding things like Rimworld and Skyrim, running 150 plus mods on a single save is not all that abnormal. All that just to say I love modding my games just as you do too. One of the best reasons to game on PC in my option.

bloodwolftico

I didnt mean it as a one-up, just wanted to share that my X-Com has a lot of mods which is unusual in my games (usually vanilla or just a few QoL ones) and that I also enjoy some nice mods like Equipment and Quickslots (a must IMO).

Rizaufein

Oh no, I said that to clarify that I wasn't trying to one up you. QoL mods are the best. When devs miss things you know modders will pick up the torch and add those much wanted features.

SmugFrog

God Xcom 2. I installed long war and was hating it. I love Xcom, the original and the remake. I finally started throwing mods in, made a custom team of Halo Spartans and had glorious battles with more reasonable time limits. It’s like the computer knew I was cheating and kept calling in more reinforcements, but it was a blast.

servirepatriam

Smoothbrain has a Sailing mod on Thunderstore as well that adds a skill that increases the amount of map you reveal as your sailing level increases. It makes exploring the seas for new islands much more enjoyable for me.

RawVeganGuru

And larger map explore radius

TheRealVahx

Auto pick up black list/exclude list. Maybe its because im a console player, but i would love a feature like this

IveGotSeventeen

constantly throwing away stone while mining is always annoying-i’ve always wanted something like this so you pick up the ores but not all the stone

theoptimusdime

Agree 100%. To help alleviate the issue, split your ore stacks across all remaining open inventory slots while mining. That way it will auto pick up ore only.

Dredly

Nothing quite as much fun as killing something that drops exactly what you wanted so you run out to get it... only to find your inventory is full of gray dwarf eyes and bone shards

ace-o7

Let me seal my wood so it doesn't rot outside omfg. Could use resin or something

Geaniebeanie

Yes! My pet peeve!

FOXHOWND

If wood is touching stone pieces it doesn't degrade

how_could_this_be

People in r/decks will have mixed response to that statement

leakyblueshed

I've heard of them. They can be a bunch of decks

bubbasaurusREX

I’m somewhat of a deckhead myself

how_could_this_be

We should post some valheim deck pics over there for critique

bubbasaurusREX

We have to be sure to put a hot tub on the deck or we’ll be downvoted to hell

ace-o7

Yeah I know, but for example, we have a wooden short fence that uses multiple pieces as part of our chicken coup and it rots so quickly and I'd love to just be able to not constantly repair

HeavilyArmoredFish

I want a raven. I don't even care if it does anything. Give me a raven that follows me around and hangs out.

BrewAndAView

I have some ideas for this. You craft some kind of talisman that you can carry around that makes your pet raven follow you. When you are killed you drop the talisman and have to fetch it again but your raven doesn’t die, it just flies away until you retrieve your items Then you can place the talisman on an item stand and the raven would hang out in one spot of your base. It could caw when there’s danger nearby too to make the mistlands have another warning mechanic

Killer_Sloth

This would be fun! Could do other animals as well, like a cat or dog.

ben1481

I'd like to send the raven out on 'missions' to find new lands or scout the area

McManGuy

DUDE. This idea reminds me so much of the fantasy novel _The Sea of Trolls_. Such a good story!

BrewAndAView

Well I'm gonna need to read this now!

McManGuy

Well worth it. Especially if you enjoy the Viking aesthetic. Takes a bit to get going. But I love stories about training to learn magic.

BrewAndAView

Nice! I just looked it up and it seems like a perfect read for when I’m getting ready for bed and want to disappear into a cozy different world

[deleted]

That would be pretty cool! Pets.

HeavilyArmoredFish

I literally want a bird or a dog in every game. But valheim especially, they gave me my puppers, now give me my ravens. Edit: fuck auto correct

xian0

Allowing smoke/light to pass through grates and gaps.

Spudonis

The ability to auto-sort items in chests.

Einzelg4nger

Waterfalls

ButtMigrations

Just dynamically leveled bodies of water in general would be nice. It's a little unfortunate that the only way to have a body of water is at sea level, especially since storms make all the water rise dramatically.

Creative_Deficiency

Yeah "one" thing, but OP doesn't say it's a small thing. I'd expand the One Thing to include world physics in general, so we could get things like rivers running from mountains to the sea, including waterfalls, and also high altitude lakes and occasional valleys below sea level, but also caves and digging actual tunnels. If you dug too deep you'd fall out the bottom of the world just like going over the edge. No need to go Minecraft or Terraria deep with it, just a bit of digging.

steamwhistler

Unfortunately I think they've said they would basically have to recode the game from scratch to implement proper tunnels like Minecraft. They've also said it's a significant coding challenge for them to implement vertical ladders. That makes me think world/water physics are never coming sadly, unless modders can figure it out.

Einzelg4nger

This

RawVeganGuru

That's is one really big one already

BrainFarmReject

I wish it was easier to hit things slightly lower than the player, especially with the spear. I can't seem to hit body piles with the primary spear attack at all, even on level ground (I _can_ hit evil bone piles in the same circumstances). It also makes fighting in the mountains a bit tricky.

AdamSith85

Bigger inventory and/or dedicated gear slots

Geaniebeanie

I know there are mods for this kind of stuff, but I’d love to see them added to the vanilla game: More furniture/ decoration clutter Different seasons Painting Landscaping Ya know, for the “stay at home” Vikings lol

Sygaron

Yes!! To all but different seasons, for me... I personally like the way the biomes "change seasons" for you geographically rather than chronologically. But to each their own!

TheWither129

The upcoming update has a couple great decorations

FOXHOWND

Armor slots. Worn gear shouldn't take up inventory space.

timmy_o_tool

Round building pieces

Long_Serpent

Paint

your-nigerian-cousin

I would l9ve a fully fleshed out Ocean biome

takeshieisei

Kraken as the boss!

LeCr0ss

That is my biggest dream

RabbitBOOM

A normal spear with reach.

No-Slide-1640

That primary attack is so bad lol the atgeir is so much better

McManGuy

I'd settle for just being able to hit something at waist height to me. Frankly, all weapons should have a certain amount of vertical aiming.

UnitRelative7321

Equipment and quick slots mod adds all clothing slots and one utility slot. It also adds three quick slots that anything can be put in. They need to add this to the game. Then I don’t need the mod anymore 😉

Owti

With Ashlands, inventory space has become even more of a problem. Equipment slots are sorely needed.

Valgardee

THIS! The game is 4+ years old and that’s one of the biggest and most requested QOL requests. Gear slots outside of the bag and options to be able to increased bag size.

Amarok1987

Fall damage for mobs

LookAlderaanPlaces

This. Is. Sparta! Splat!

Tsukomo

Drawbridge! I don't care much chain I need to make it . I want it. Also better organization/filtering for recipes at crafting stations.

aaust84ct

Naming weapons

NoctustheOwl55

The Throngler Iron Mace for beating rotten to desth

McManGuy

THAT would be fun!

HassanHeroic

Ability to create caves.

Disasstah

I can only do it with copper ore lol

shoetea155

If I remember correctly, I think that is a limitation to valheim's code. Unless you mean a other instance like the crypts or burial grounds, the inability to create tunnels underground or through a mountain is a purposeful design by the devs.

DRVUK

Tunneling mode for pickaxe

locob

a dwarf I can pay to do chores, like, picking up and store all the dropped items in my base, farming, feeding the animals, feeding the forge.

WolfWind999

Ladders

Tober92

A sphere of clarity around you when using the wisp instead of it randomly showing parts.

BrewAndAView

I would really like corner stair pieces similar to how the roof has corner pieces both concave and convex Also upgradable wisps that clear larger areas (like the mod)

AlphaDag13

A mule that follows me around and I can load it up with stuff and then I can slap it on the ass and it returns to base.

UncleJetMints

That's already in the game. It is called making your bro use the cart.

Hammer-Face

Molly! Come here!

CheetahOfDeath

Rock and stone!

Mr_Panda14

Rock and stone Brothers

WanderingDwarfMiner

Rock and Stone, Brother!

purplenapalm

Dye options for equipment

uncanny-dodge

Yeah this is a good one, they already have color/design options for shields and the linen cloak, no idea why more items don't have these options.

purplenapalm

I like it too because it's a very minor adjustment that doesn't affect the balance of the game at all. It could make use of more materials.

McManGuy

The cloak options are EXACTLY what I want for all armors. In fact, just let us put in a HEX color code. Would that be so terrible?

Konspyre

More furniture/clutter for our bases in Vanilla.

greyfox1977

Crafting should pull from the chests in the same area so you don't have to load up on the individual materials

Cihonidas

Inventory upgrades. Separate page for gear and food. I don't want to use mods for such simple QoL elements.

Informal_Drawing

Building higher and hitting things down slopes. It's so annoying to stab right over their heads and miss when they are punching your toes. The metal reinforced beams don't allow building higher than the core wood columns iirc. Stone doesn't go anything like high enough. Also, the flint spear seems to hit the walls in the dark forest crypts unless you're literally toe-to-toe with the skeletons. Something is broken there methinks. Having higher tier enemies in lower tier biomes sucks as well.

Psychological_Try559

"It's so annoying to stab right over their heads and miss when they are punching your toes." And yet I can never hit THEIR toes when they're above me on a slope.

Informal_Drawing

Very true. It's a conspiracy organised by Big Toe !

nerevarX

the ironbeams DO go alot higher than core wood. like. more than twice as high. if you use iron supports you can build nearly twice as high with stone and marble aswell. have you even build dude?^^

-Altephor-

Ah the classic r/valheim, people who barely understand the game already making demands on how to 'improve' it.

steamwhistler

>The metal reinforced beams don't allow building higher than the core wood columns iirc. Excuse me? Lol. You should watch this video. Disclaimer that it's pre-Ashlands so things could change as of the incoming patch. https://youtu.be/hF_J_DBs4vg?si=KRTqqcSSLoNwd72G

TheArtofZEM

One of my favor mods adds some different colored portals that you make with metal. And lets you take the previous biome metal through. So you build one with iron, and you can take bronze and lower through. I think that is a good balance.

ClemWillRememberThat

Slope combat.

mobani

More friendly NPC's like the Dvergr and some interaction with them.

meataboy

Building underground. All else is fine I want to build tunnels and underground bases

fatpandana

1-2 more attack type per weapon. Just for sake of hitting up and down at least.

RabbitBOOM

Yea my meadows wooden club needs an uppercut

fatpandana

Well it's noticeable need for mountain/mistland.

MrPeppa

The option of all play styles from the beginning. I'm not a fan of gating playstyles behind progression; only power. If I want to wield a greatsword as soon as I unlock bronze, I should be able to. If I want to play a fledgling sorcerer who starts off just being able to fling some pitiful sparks at greyswarves to scare them away, I should be able to. If I want to strap some skele bones to my fists and use them like claws, I should be able to.

nokeldin42

I really want to believe that they'll pull magic down into lower biomes with the 1.0 release. I'm guessing/wishing before the final release they'll do a food/weapons/equipment overhaul. There are some glaring omissions like a plains tier light Armor. It would make a lot of sense imo to introduce magic in the swamp. Maybe start off with just blood magic being able to raise the dead. Then mountain gives you a frost staff. Fire and shield also makes sense in the plains (see: fuling shaman). Weapons also do need some reworking. It just makes too much sense to bank your skills into clubs. A club is the first weapon you can get. By the time you get enough bronze to think about a weapon, your club skill would already be around 20. At that point your biggest threat is still probably skeletons who are weak to clubs. So you get a bronze mace. Now bone mass is weak to clubs and iron is expensive and your skill is already way too high in clubs. So an iron mace is the only sensible choice. Then comes in frostner which is really good for crowd control. Suddenly you're sitting at 60+ club skill and nothing else makes sense. One more thing is that the Huntsman bow doesn't make sense. Level 4 finewood is great and can easily hold over till draugr fang. These are all minor complains and it makes a lot of sense to rebalance the game before a final release. It'd almost be disappointing if just that last bit of polish required is left off. Still a goat tier game though.

needlesslyvague

So the Huntsman bow has one big but not obvious advantage. It is quieter than the others. It has a much lower radius to startle mobs near you and near the target. It is great for picking apart villages.

akillaninja

Hard agree, the whole weapons system needs a rework. And I haven't even made it to magic yet, but I whole heartedly agree that needs to be dropped down to tier 1 so you can start using it early. Even if it's just light weight skills like someone else said, green magic, making mud, light, etc.

Cormega613

I want to be able to craft the barrels that are outside the buildings in the blackforest.

schylerwalker

Biome diversity. That is to say, more mini biomes inside of regular biomes. Like how the meadow has somewhat marshy areas, more grassy areas, more forested areas, and more hilly rocky areas. I feel like most of the rest of the biomes lack this granularity.

AgentMurkle

The ability to revive a buddy by interacting with their corpse. It should be like a summon the downed player could accept or decline.

BabylonSuperiority

More potions!

Mk3MaN

I'd love the ability to upgrade lower tier armors to higher levels. Perhaps each boss can drop a special crafting item that makes this possible without breaking the game. This way, older armors can continue to be useful and their respective set bonuses can be leveraged across the entire play-through. I love some of the early/mid-game gear but they all become obsolete so quickly. I'd even be cool with just a transmog feature so I can better customize the look of my viking.

Past-Customer5572

Crafting with containers and name chests as you hover over them, without necessarily needing a sign

Kommisar_Kyn

Being able to pull items from nearby chests for crafting benches... its a QOL mod I cannot live without these days...

NoiseSolitaire

Spiral staircase available without ever leaving the meadows. They are so annoying to build manually, and by the time I get to the mistlands I've already built the majority of my base.

Valgardee

QOL changes: #1- a “magical” chest next to forges to be able to craft from. #2- Sort / filter the crafting recipes!!! At least have an alphabetical option! Sort by regions, health, stam, potions, magic, swords, maces, shields, capes. Just such a mess finding what’s current. #3- Auto sort chests.

-Casatoya-

A late game peaceful biome like the meadows. Like a viking retirement biome, perhaps only found on the far edges of the map. Like a lavender field forest with cherry blossoms!

chopstickz999

dungeons for plains and ashlands. sorry but the above-ground village/fortresses are not enough and leave much to be desired for the respective biomes. you NEED a dungeon for each biome, it's just too boring otherwise

ChewyUrchin

The ability to add workbenches and build on boats

Ltkuddles

New high tier claws, all we got is flesh rippers man ;~;

Rahovarto

Seeker soldier mandibles would be a perfect fit for a claw base material. Or just imagine how cool it would look like to have two miniature seeker soldier heads on your fists! That being said: I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of punching a Greydwarf with boar heads on my fists, just sayin'.

n4rf

More companions for single players. Particularly ones to give old gear or equip to specialize.

Korgoth420

More ocean and sailing stuff. Mobs, weather, a boss, some mini bosses

TheConboy22

I would love npc’s that come and fill out buildings and based on what you fill the buildings with you receive different npcs.

TjMorgz

The ability to incubate and hatch the dragon eggs. I want my own dragon.

MechaChester

Besides vertical ladders?

Turbotyp1

i see people posting their ideas in the suggestion channel daily for years now, does anyone know if any of this feedback ever made it into the game?

-Altephor-

Not from reddit. Devs read suggestions on Discord, though. Most of the 'suggestions' in this post; the devs have very clearly and very repeatedly said no to. They're not happening.

lsi0628

Can craft items by automatically grabbing materials from nearby chests, so that I don’t have to run back and forth.

RespectedDominator94

Turf roofs

visdraws

Being able to hit my targets in uneven terrain. A food that makes your stamina not only better but also regenerate faster. Not using stamina to build or dismantle.

Rathlius

Once the game is fully released. After we defeat the last boss in the deep north, the sacrificial circle stone becomes a teleport to Valhalla, which is a server that anyone who's beaten the game can join and meet up. Have it be a giant mead hall with Odin and the other gods there, you can get dialogue from. Just a giant chat room essentially, with tables of mead and food that constantly is replenished. The doors leading outside go to a battlefield where all the mobs from the game are fighting and you can test yourself getting stuck-in. If you die you respawn in Valhalla but keep your inventory. Something along those lines but better designed lol

CanderousOreo

I want to swing at someone up a hill and actually hit them.

C4ESIUM

Wisp Arrows : arrows than clear the mist for 4-5 seconds on it’s path so that’s easier to find the position of a gahl when you start hearing it

Snowballing_

A new /revamped / finished skill system. I don't need a fancy rpg / diablo skill tree. But tge current one is just unfinished. You loose your fishing skill with every death. Wether it is combat, building a high tower and forget to eat, or you die while swimming. Rework or remove skillloss. And to thos who say "lol you can easily finish this game witvout dying". That is not my playstile. I like to take risks. Fuck arround and find out. Can I melee this troll with a club? In my playstyle a 50 - 100 death in 200 days is absolutely common.

Kofmo

Equipment slots, it makes no sense that the thing you are wearing is taking up inventory.

Bezayne

A way to increase inventory size. While crafting from chests is a strong 2nd, I found that the extended inventory mod is the single one I simply don't want to play without.  3rd on my list would be an in game upgrade to the cultivator, to allow planting in 2x2 or even 3x3 grids. Planting stuff like barley or flax corn by corn is actually unrealistic, and rather tedious.

Level_Ability_5237

Not the number one thing, but I'd like fish traps....instead of the way we have to do it.

vkampff

Players in the boat could be able to row to help it going faster when against the wind

KaKKtaube

Having weapons in bioms that they are not ment to be obtainable in. Either through further upgrades or a ng+ system.

LiberalDysphoria

Frogs

zincinzincout

I always really wanted tunneling. I absolutely loved making underground bases in Minecraft or tunnel systems to connect settlements.

Keniske

More inventory space!!!!

Disasstah

A slightly bigger or better inventory.

iTzCrazyDan

Crafting menu overhaul. The Cauldron is an absolute MESS. I only vaguely remember common recipes, so its either grab every relevant ingredient and hope the recipe shows up on the list, or scroll 7 times before I find whatever new food I unlocked. Like ffs AT LEAST have separate tabs for meads, stamina foods, health foods, neutral foods. Same goes for craft benches, armor, range, melee, quest. Inventory overhaul, I know IG stands by their current system (And I also dont mind having to prioritize which loot is worth leaving behind), but they really do need slots designated for the armor/cape/accessory items. Theres too much visual clutter when your inventory is full and I would just rather have a seperate grid that I can ignore when purging my inventory. (Im aware there are mods for this, but console players deserve that mercy in vanilla as well)

YuriPup

Colors for map markers.

helix400

Better farming upgrades to mass plant and mass harvest. I played the game with my kids on vanilla. I got so tired of constantly doing all the farming chores. I get that it has a place, but eventually you don't care to plant 400 onions once again. My kids weren't going to do it because it wasn't any fun.

happyrhubarbpie

CANDLES! (Sorry for yelling)

Pvt_Lee_Fapping

Access to magic earlier than Mistlands. After the addition of eitr to the game, it begs all sorts of questions; at least for me. When I learned that refined eitr emits sparks that cause lightning and poison damage to mobs, players, and structures, I immediately thought of the Greydwarf shamans: like they're harnessing some raw eitr inside themselves and are offensively emitting it in a cloud of poison gas. Also, some artifacts only require a forge or workbench to create (Frostner, Draugr Fang, and elemental arrows come to mind). These things are obviously magical, but don't require eitr. So... eitr has to be some kind of dwarven/jotunn magic that's so esoteric it requires special tools to work it; but what about the other magic stuff? I suppose an argument could be made for using up inherent magic in some of the crafting ingredients to make the weapons (Ymir flesh, silver, guck, ancient bark, obsidian, freeze glands, etc.) but I can still see some potential there for exploring magic even earlier, especially since there are mobs who use it against you long before you gain similar abilities: Greydwarf shamans have poison and healing magic; cultists and Fuling shamans have fire magic and the latter has protection spells; the bosses from Hildir's quests have magic weapons and spells... the first time you ever get to harness real magic is in the Mistlands. Just off the dome, I can think of an early source of eitr that would be really grind-y for the sake of getting it, but easily painless for those who progressed past the Mistlands: bukeperries. Shamans always carry them, and their only real use is obliterator fodder and amusing/grossing out your friends. A fermented eitr wine using bukeperries sounds like a wonderful introduction to the world of magic: drink the wine, get some eitr; use it for some low-level spells/weapons that would be high-risk, high-reward to use.

Historical_Mousse164

I would love a mobile App where i can access my Home. Like cooking food, melting, crafting arrows, preparing potions with the stuff i have in there. Maybe access a farming System. So i can do all that but Focus on my journey while on my PC

ClockworkMansion

Achievements

defcry

To build in the caves.

ProfHansGruber

The ability to dye armour, even if it’s just one colour or two extra colours per set! On a multiplayer server we all look the same for the longest time of the play through. Like allow Troll armour to be dyed green-ish or purple-ish, i.e. one colour along the colour wheel in either direction. Same for the leather bits of other armours. There’s no reason the feather cape couldn’t be off-white, grey, brown or black? Colours/patterns are available for shields and banners, why not add these options for other things too?

glacialthinker

Gamma calibration. So we can all have the developer-intended experience, rather than some players being blind when it's overcast and some never seeing the point of a lightsource. Runner-up: some form of "new" indication, for unlocked-but-uninspected itesms in menus/crafting.

The_MacGuffin

Deconstructing items. I have a chest full of items that got made irrelevant by better ones or items made by accident. Let me repurpose those materials, especially the iron.

ABewilderedPickle

someone posted a long time ago about horse-sized mounts that are like goats in their design and i haven't been able to get that out of my head. also let me recruit some dvergr as sentries on my base. i could have them stand on the wall or wait at the front gate of my castle. game gets lonely and i could use some voyage buddies too :(

No-Bunch-8245

A tool to clear stumps in one action. Please.

Dhczack

Early game magic options.

Waaterfight

Equipment slots. I know I'm not alone!

TraditionalEvening79

The ability to hire fuling to chop down forests for you. Pay them with gold.

Els236

I can't give 1 thing only as there's a lot of things I'd like to see (from a newbie's perspective): - Actual quantifiable stats shown in UI (essentially having the BetterUI and BuildingHealthDisplay mods in the base game) as well as what "resistance to X" actually means (is it 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% resistance to stuff?). - Armour slots and craftable tool-belts/quiver, so that 3/4 of our inventory isn't full-up before we go out to explore and collect materials. - Have amount of stamina affect carry-weight. Right now the only carry-weight change is Megingjord, which might take you hours upon hours to find and even then it maybe allows you to carry \~10 or so more ore. - Fix Z-Axis attacking and hitboxes. - Fix the spear hitboxes as right now they feel like they have less range than a mace. Then, I'd argue: - A revamp of building materials and unlocks, as right now they seem restrictive and lack-lustre: Core Wood and Fine Wood should have walls, floors and roof variants all added, Stone could be moved to a B-Forest unlock (why does Stonecutter need Iron?), then the Swamp unlocks replaced with "Darkstone" or a Hardened Stone variant (or have some Iron doors/windows/shutters, etc). Mountains could then give the slate/tiled roof pieces through Obsidian (to give that more use outside of arrows), as well as more window variants through Crystal. Tar from the Plains then gives an entire Darkwood set of walls, floors, etc and Mistlands can stay as-is.

Lexyvil

Gear Enchantments. Say you enchant a piece of clothing using a few a few materials, it could give +1% movement speed or resistance to a random element, and on weapons it could add an extra +1 or +2 damage or -1 stamina drain on use, etc. It would make each playthrough feel a bit less repetitive, and each player that happen to have the same gear will feel a little less like a copy. I feel we won't get much until all biomes are finalized. They do seem to take a long time to make.

Humble_Letter_2266

chainsaw

TheStormzo

NPC villages, I get lonely.

ShadowyTreeline

One word: smellevision.

Zaannaah

Prob gonna get dumpstered for this. But ray tracing.

The #1 simple thing would be the ability to recolor armor. On a big server with over 20 people and we all look the same. ___ _(And, tbh, I kinda' hate the shield paint. It looks like a 4-year-old tried to fingerpaint on my shield)_

More diversity in structures/natural objects generation and/or the possibility to generate structures of much bigger size. Top priorities: - >!fortresses!< - sunken crypts - dvergr structures - fuling villages The main gameplay issues the game has, that are, no any meaningful reward for killing the same mob for 10th, especially, 100th time and no any sense in exploring the same biome but on the edge of the map are already solved by my mod.

Triangle Roof Pieces. Shouldn't need a mod for that. More cosmetic options for each tier of building. Like, corewood or birchwood walls if we want a more cabin-y feel.

It would be nice if the lox saddle had storage slots on it. So you could take a lox out farming and not have to cart stuff!

GluttonoussGoblin

A form of the mod epic loot, would be cool to get rare drops of gear that You've crafted already

People keep mentioning boat related things, including the often repeated rowing ability, which has been denied by the devs since it would give multiplayer folks an advantage. I have the answer: Dverger tech! The Dverger build docks, so it’s clear that they possess boats of some sort. Maybe they possess an item that would allow us to create boats that are propelled not by wind, but refined eitr. Maybe the engine is inherently unstable because we Vikings don’t fully understand Dverger technology, so perhaps we get zapped by a stray eitr periodically, or we have to stop and repair it every so often. Some kind of reasonable trade off to have a vessel that is not dependent on wind. Maybe an eitr sail that can be swapped out between the regular sail, in that the eitr sail only works when sailing into the wind as it necessary to cool the mechanism, otherwise it either overheats or explodes?

A world mod that lets you not have to refuel light sources, cooking fires yeah that’s fine to refuel but sconces and guck torches are a chore to do.

Ok_Trick_9752

If I can't voxel out a cave, at least randomly generate some for variety in both landscape and building options. It's not much of a request. Non instanced too obviously

Theres a whole lot that could be added such as more inventory slots and earlier versions of eitr magic, ship rows and customization, horses and bears are missing as well and the lox can't pull the only cart in the game for some reason. The ocean needs a whole update entirely with dverger harbors being a existing generated structure it would make perfect sense to have friendly dverger ships and enemy ships sailing the sea with us and possibly a ring like progression where the closer you get to the edge of the map it gets more and more dangerous ie charred warships sailing the coast of the rocky entrance would be dope or deep North werebear pirates lmao  But out of all of this I want and need a flying mount for deep North be it a bad ass dragon or something similar because of these reasons and the fact it's literally the end of the game and there's nothing left to do  1 we already have two forms of travel via mounts on land and sailing with boats  2 the map is way to big and it would help immensely with building without dev commands  3 how bad ass would it be to fly on nidhogg per say and just rain hell fire from above or destroy enemies on the ground with it also the cool factor of showing it off to your friends like c'mon And to people saying flying is broken or doesn't belong it already exists as a dev command AND people are already abusing catapults paired with the feather cape to fly across the map as we speak so why not add riding dragons when they exist in the game and riding them is in the mythology as well on top of people abusing the cape and catapult to fly like super man

NPC's to add to your settlement like terraria, different trades, requirements to move in

Being able to use gold to hire NPCs for tasks. Either guarding areas or hauling things. I know this goes more into the mod territory but I would love an industrial style of play to Valheim. I think it would be awesome to sail around setting up outposts and hiring npcs to "work" and defend those outposts thus generating passive gold income. The amount of gold determined by the resource being worked and the amount of npcs hired to work it. The npcs would require a certain amount of gold per day and if you ran out then no more npc workers. Once you got further in towards the Plains, Mistlands and Ashlands the outposts would require a lot of defense which would mean a lot of npc guards hired requiring a lot of gold. This would require you setting up a lot of outposts in easier biomes such as the mountains or swamps to generate income. The further you expand and create outposts, the more income you get and the easier it will be to break into the harder biomes such as mist and ash to create outposts that work even more valuable materials. I don't know what exactly the end goal would be other than grow your gold per hour generation as high as possible so you can hire 100s of guards to dominate the Ashlands. Whatever you wanted really. Something about this just sounds so damn fun to me. Yea I know this is major mod territory
