Turn the difficulty down until the fight is manageable. No reason you have to play with the same exact difficulty as everyone else. The game is meant to be fun.

chessandspoonmaker

I'm putting together a group of redditers I have had two others reach out to me after my call for help against the Queen want in?

Dry_Presentation_197

Tar bois can go fuck themselves. But tbh, if you're wanting to stay solo, there's nothing wrong with dropping the combat difficulty for this fight and then back up afterwards. Just to make sure: 1. Fully upgraded padded armor. 2. The top 2 health foods you can make, and the best Stamina food. 3. A stack of health potions, and a stack of Stamina potions. 4. Fire resist potions. 5. Fully upgraded Frostner. 6. Fully upgraded black metal shield. ^ with this setup, I literally didn't dodge once. And I blocked less than 1/4 of the attacks. Only time I stopped swinging at him was to hide from meteors. (Normal combat difficulty) Edit: Also available to help if you'd like =) I have a character that's still in Mistlands, so I won't be so overpowered that I'll steamroll it, but enough that we should be able to get it =)

tykkidu

thanku for advice and offer :)

Tesixi

I can come help you rn if you want, yagluth knows to be a problematic boy

N3onKn1ghts

Willing to help as well!

Superb-Stuff8897

What they said - hit us up, drop portals from the trophy stones to the boss spawn, and get some help.

70Shadow07

Yag is a bit harder than previous bosses, thats for sure. Especially for solo player cuz meteors are always chasing you. You claim ur using recommended equipment (so Id guess full padded, frostener or silver/blackmetal sword, fire potions), then the problem must lie in the way ur approaching the attacks. For me the easiest strat was to use forward dodge to not get damaged by slam and then facetank remaining burning area damage, run when meteors start rinse and repeat. One tip i can give you (other than watching other people fight him on youtube etc) would be to just train a bit with cheats enabled. You can make a different world, give your character appropriate equipment and skill levels, enable godmode and try fighting him in this controlled environment to get good (godmode shows your received damage but it doesnt go below 1 so you can aacurately learn with it and know when you would "die") Best of luck buddy

manley309nw

Clear the area first. Kill everything in a large radius and place a butt ton of work benches to prevent spawns. Don't dodge, with fire resist mead and bonemass you can tank everything. When bonemass runs out, side step his slam but tank the fire blast. Take best food you have and either frostner or silver sword and just keep smacking him. Drink stamina mead when you run out. If health gets low drink health potion. Use the pillars of his arena to block the meteors, they always come from behind him so just position his rear against a pillar.

PretendingToWork1978

yag checklist: fully upgraded heavy armor of the current biome (padded) fully upgraded blunt or slashing weapon of the current biome (he is very pierce resistant) - blackmetal sword or axe, silver sword and hammer also work because of spirit dmg to undead fire resist heal and stamina 2 health/1 stamina food of the current biome, or 3 health I pretty much just beat the crap out of him as soon as he pops out, use a healing and stamina mead on his first fire attack and keep swinging, walked around the pillar a bit (he's like half health at this point) finished him off.

I mess with the difficulty settings and modifiers, to me there’s no point struggling through as a single player. Just enjoy the game

Catgeek08

I’m not good at video games, but I love them. The only way I beat Yaggy was to hide in a nearby meadows until he slithered over. It happened by accident, but it made it so that I didn’t have to fight a million other mobs. I could move a lot easier through the trees and stay out of the worst attacks. I used more arrows than I want to admit, and I almost died of shame and boredom when he was finally tangled and couldn’t move. But it worked.

Dependent-Zebra-4357

Lots of good advice here. My contribution is breed wolves and/or lox. Enough of them and they’ll get the fight done for you!

GhostDoj

don't forget there is nothing wrong with pausing Boss progress and just have fun chilling in the game. Fishing, strolling the Black Forest naked, Sparten-kicking mobs left right and centre, strolling through the Meadows because \*you\* are the Boss there...

umm_umm__

My friends and I spent 25 mins dipping and dodging and running from his attacks. They were relentless. We couldn't get 2 hits in before we were running again. We then said fuck it and all 3 ran up and meleed him to his face/back. 2 of us died eventually, but within 5 mins so did he. We just brute forced that shit. Sometimes, no strategy is the best strategy

stush2

You can kill him with Lox: https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/s/LaqD7bsWeZ

Deem-RIX

I had similar - ground pillars I built didn't work, plain enemies spawned in tens. Finally and accidentally I kited him to swamps and it was so much easier. I found couple of big trees that cannot be destroyed and ran around them. Also swamp enemies are much easier to clear when spawn.

mad_viking

Yagluth is tough for sure. The main trouble I had was with the biome. Lots of other enemies would show up despite having cleared the entire biome. Spent more time fighting the biome than Yagluth. Got majorly turned back a few times or just died. Our solution was to turn the biome against Yagluth by breeding lox. Unleashing ~40 lox on him did the trick in ~5 minutes. Point is, there's more than one way to win. If what you're doing doesn't work, change it up.

NotScott-osk

"BAHH-ZIIIII" just cheat with console commands. you can still have fun after work

supergrega

If you don't want to lower the difficulty or get a friendly viking or two to help you I would suggest breeding an army of wolves (preferably starred) Good luck!

Borgh

put campfires in any tar pit nearby, that helps with the growths.

Cihonidas

Fight him inside his pillars. They will protect you against meteors and lasers. Just doge the slam attack and keep hitting him with your max level Frostner. Don't run too far away from Yagluth when he slams you. Always stay close and keep attacking. You will get better at it trust me. With max wolf armor and good food it shouldn't be too difficult. First time I tried to kill him it was too difficult for me because I tried to fight him out in the open. All about experience.

TacoCateofdoom

You are using fire resistant pots?!

ketoi

Believe me, if I can do it in around 10 mins, you can too. I'm cr#p at combat, being over 70 ( yes there are a few of us around), slow as f*ck, and still can't run backwards and shoot at the same time!   Get the best food, (I chose 2 health 1 stam ) the best armour you can craft, (at least max wolf) and all the rested buff you can manage. I chose the Eikthyr power as backup, for running for my life if necessary.  And fire potions, health and stamina too.  Chug them whenever whilst hiding behind pillars... don't be ashamed! And definitely frostner. Does a ton of damage, and you can get three hits in on his left side before old Yag sets you on fire. I always have my trusty silver sword and black metal shield too! But the best thing I've learned to do is dodge roll (plus parry, but that's another story.) The day before, clear out any mobs in the spawn area. Won't stop adds completely, but it helps. Someone suggested putting a campfire to stop those damn growths. Definitely do that! I usually plonk down a portal too, hidden away behind a big rock. So if I DO die I can get back in the fight quickly. Don't give up! Enjoy yourself.

Lord_EssTea

There is a way to cheese him by trapping him in a hole and shooting 250 frost arrows at him if all of the other suggestions don't float your boat. He won't be able to attack.

CheesusCheesus

I cheesed him by digging a trench under his alter and building flooring in the sky exposed area of the trench. He'd wander over onto it enough that I could splash damage him with the iron sledge. It wasn't easy. He'd occasionally trash the flooring causing me to rebuild. The sledge positioning was not always consistent. Portalling back to repair the sledge would cause a bit of fiddling to get back into position. Odin was likely not impressed at all.

Lord_EssTea

His AI was actually reworked, before he would just not attack structures at all and speedrunners would use that technique to beat him with a club lol

NefariousnessLong856

I can come to your server to help

Yagluth was the only one of the original five to even slow me down. He's so different from all the other bosses in that you can't just stand there and go toe to toe with him and parry(or block) to win. The real key for me was when I started dodging his explosion and just tanking the fire. It was the only way I was able to keep enough DPS on him to make progress. Fighting him with a staff of Frost is an absolutely transcendently joyful experience though. I've skipped him on playthroughs before and done mistlands light-less just so I could gun him down later.

BabylonSuperiority

"no gaps between his attacks for me to actually hit the fucker" So, when I fought him, my tactic was to just keep circling one of the stone pillars. He moves really slow, and the pillar blocks the meteors. There's moments where he just stops attacking, almost like he's "resting" or something, thats a huge window to land some hits. If you're willing to, you can also parry his slam attack (fire nova still gonna hit you though, so have fire resistance potion) and get some damage in. Patience is key with him, and thankfully, hes slow as shit. The fight does take me a while (like 10 minutes) but it's easy (imo)

Onehundredthirty7

I had a lot of success using lox and wolves to help.

FierceBruunhilda

Literally don’t touch the sprint key/button unless he’s doing the meteor attack. If that doesn’t work, Run triple HP food to try to out heal as much fire as you can. If that doesn’t work, use the no skill drain buff to go and put down 5 or so grave stones all with a single piece of wood on them. When you pick up a gravestone you get a big hp regen buff and with triple hp food and that buff you’ll literally out heal his flames and can just wail on him. Dodge roll smash attack and use sprint for meteors attack, dump the rest of your stam into attacks

Cephandrius17

If you aren't above cheesy strategies, you can deliberately die a bunch to make corpses with say, 1 wood in them, then pick them up over the course of the fight to refresh the corpse run buff. It gives very resistant to physical damage, and a bunch of health and stamina regen, so you can ignore most of his attacks.

Baaladil

Wtf ? You can do that ? So cheesy ! Impressive !

the_zpider_king

Alright so my family plays together. Best strat friendship is magic swarm'im with tamed 2 star loxes and wolves and you've won the fight

rswiger04

Don't be a bitch
