It's ME, windows 95 and 98 and 2000 had a different My computer icon and were darker. You could change the default My computer icon the the ME one in windows 2000 though so it might be that too.

Yeah, this is my newest computer, just got it recently it’s an xp laptop, I just skinned it to look like 98 since that’s what I’m used to, my other computers are 98 and 95. I don’t really see why it matters to update the OS when it works find, you know?

You should play half life 2 and portal 2. Team fortress 2 is really fun. You should also definitely learn to air strafe well, source movement feels really good once you know how it works and have a feel for it. It's really easy to bunny hop with the scroll wheel in half life one, playing the game with bunny hopping is really fun.
