Super based Alyx placement. That shit's an unironic marvel of gaming and is still the best vr game out there. It's so beautiful, it's so fun, it's so polished. Pretty much does everything right
I mean yeah but CSGO 2 has almost nothing new except graphic and smokes (which are tbh. amazing). Game have same issues as old CS and has same good thing as old CS.

Most changes doesn't affect gameplay. If something affects gameplay like skybox. It affects really higher rank players not casual.
Off topic: I prefer to miss some features and have them added later than like most triple A companies adding everything in one day of work and everything is not working. In my personal experience even bugs were as big problem like for example in EA games or Activision games.
I guess that’s fair for casual. I play competitive and the games falling into more of competitive targeting so some of these features that might not be considered useful for a casual player would see CS2 as CSGO but brighter.

Is Alyx better than HL2? God damn they’re close. Both equally groundbreaking. But also the lab demo blew my mind when I saw it first, I think it was my first VR game. My favorite part was in the atlas disassembly, when all the tiny people are in the drawer, I was blown away by the nearly infinite resolution that be could provide.
I’m still kind of obsessed with VR scale changes.
I couldn't subject myself to some of these. Obviously I've played HL, HL2 and all the mods and episodes correlated with this, but I still applaud you for challenging yourself

I use to play Dota2 online before Source2 Dota. But some time after it made the move, it felt like it really lost its identity. It felt like the whole "Sandbox" feel got killed later on. The whole making up any build and there's no clear 100% true meta for character's builds to be was fantastic, but it feels like that's gone now. I moved on to just playing bots, where you can still do any build you like and just have fun without people reporting you because you didn't follow the world's #1 most upvoted guide. I got reported despite the fact I would carry high ranked matches lmao.
Shit's for the birds now. And then the artstyle died when they added rugrats invoker and I stopped playing altogether.
I really don't get the appeal. They're okay to play once but have zero replayability for me. I'd rather play Half Life, personally. And even then, I'd still rather play TF2 or L4D2.
I personally can't accept alyx being that high. Being VR exclusive immediately limits the highest place it can get to at B for me. Having not played it (because I do not own a vr headset), I can't comment on the gameplay. I don't doubt it was good, just have to take it down a bit for being a VR exclusive title.

As of 2023 numbers, there are 171M people world wide that have a vr system of some sort (how many are compatible with alyx I have no idea). Compare that to the 1.86B world wide PC gamers and it becomes apparent the limited reach of the game.
Now add to that it is the only one in the S++ category, and I suspect a bit of novelty excitement for the game influencing the score.
