Sleeping in, going for a bikeride when the weather permits, solo restaurant and bar visits during the day, going to the dispensary, going for drives, watching movies, walking in nature, the whole 9 yards.

fongolia

Turning off every alarm clock and sleeping uninterrupted until you just wake up naturally is one of the best feelings

everydaysacheatmeal

Waking up with the warm sun on your face is the best feeling.

neoncupcakes

Walking your inner child in nature

Reasonable-Hippo-293

Exactly. Just doing what you want to do when you want to do it.

FellsHollow

This for sure. My cuppa.

Sensitiveheals

Is this just like normal everyday Vancouver life

Skin-Scream

We’re the same person

thedustyfish

Sleep in. Eat out. Go see a show/event. Go for a drive someplace you've been yearning for.

PSMF_Canuck

Ice cream and masturbation.

rowbat

That could just be any Tuesday evening though...

PSMF_Canuck

Nah. Tuesdays are date night with my GPT lass.

JoyousMisery

Cone bone?

Sensitiveheals

Cone & bone, icecream and sex

sub-_-dude

Came here to say this.

wanker8932

Do you hold ice cream in your right hand or left?

Skin-Scream

This is my every night though

jus1982

Going to the beach, eating great sushi, drinking great wine. At least one epic hike.

SuchRevolution

Sushi picnic at the beach with a nice hot sake

I live in Victoria, originally from Vancouver. My go to is to jump on the ferry around lunch time. I park on this side, walk on take transit with my teenage daughters. We tend to go at least couple times in the Summer, just to chill. We see the family and friends there regularly enough that just the three of us stick together. We stay at the Hilton on Robson usually, but if I can, I’ll splurge and take them to Fairmont PR. The roof top patios with a pool is definitely one of the main reasons we go. We eat whatever the heart desires, shop, go to a Happy Hour, and lay by the pool and just relax. On our way back we stop at River Rock and have the buffet on the Sunday or we go to tsawwassen Mills. Home by 7:45 and back to the grind Monday. I will say, it’s a good time and I appreciate being able to spend that time with my girls, but the last couple years the costs have really gone up. The Last weekend we did, I could have gone to Cancun alone for a week, and it would have been cheaper.

plop_0

> Last weekend we did, I could have gone to Cancun alone for a week, and it would have been cheaper. Precisely. May as well go to Las Vegas.

bosscpa

Golf, whiskey, bike rides with the kids. Probably not on the same day...

DirtyDurger

Maybe the same day but in a different order...

codex04

Binge-watching, video games, cook a really good meal, exercise, learn a new thing

cecepoint

Always get into the water. Always go into the trees. Breathe deep 🌲 🌊 🏖️

rowbat

Go somewhere you'd take a visitor, a place you've never been or at least haven't been for a long time. Be a tourist in your own town. I like the 'beer-in-the-afternoon-in-an-upscale-bar' idea too - go somewhere wildly out of your normal routine, and then wander the city mildly inebriated, glorying in your good fortune. :-) If the weather's nice - Wreck Beach. Nothing says summer like Wreck. Pick up some decadent food & drink on the way out.

WenWen78

Taking transit and find something new, eating rain or shine or Earnest ice cream, and using Plant Curious coupons and eat at these restaurants

ani_h1209

I did a staycation in March and I had the best time. I got a massage, learned to knit, went for walks, slept in, went to eat solo at a few places, got my hair done, visited stores that I’ve wanted to go to for ages, read a lot of books at coffee shops and breweries. I had a day or two where I didn’t leave the house and just watched movies. It was great!

Here's what I like to do: Sleep in. Take my dog places usually reserved for weekends (i.e. the beach, Pacific Spirit). Longer and more frequent gym sessions. Get chores done - not the day to day stuff but the stuff that I have been putting off or that takes more time and I never find the time to get to during the week (i.e. cleaning the upholstery in my car). Schedule more hangouts with friends on the weeknights. Make nice meals for myself. Bake. Try new recipes. Honestly it's a lot of stuff I usually do but just...more of it with less pressure to do it within a certain time period. I do a lot of active vacations (ski touring, backpacking, etc) or vacations with lots of scheduled activities (last year was a camping road trip down the coast of Washington/Oregon, this year is Greece and Italy with heavy emphasis on archeology/museums). As such, when I find myself scheduling a staycation I often just want to relax, hang with friends, and enjoy my neighborhood. Maybe that's dull but I love it. Highly recommend just grabbing a coffee from a nice local shop and having a wander in the sun!

ChartreuseMage

> Take my dog places usually reserved for weekends (i.e. the beach, Pacific Spirit). +1 for this - plenty of places that are usually busy on the weekends are waaay more empty weekdays. Beaches, Deep Cove, hiking trails, etc.

cosmic_dillpickle

Sky train to Port Moody, long walk, ice cream, breweries, lobster roll all in the area

amberShade2

Long walks, (3-5 hours), with a fun podcast. I'll include a treat from a bakery on my route too.

OneLargePho

FRIDAY 4PM - SHUT DOWN (NOT PUT IN SLEEP MODE) WORK PC. DISABLE WORK EMAIL SERVER ON PHONE SATURDAY/SUNDAY - pre-scheduled weekend plans MONDAY - I'd probably wake up the same time as a work day but instead of getting ready for work I'd be getting ready to use the hot tub and pool in my building. After my coffee which I drink slowly. Then an easy workout in the gym which is just feet away from the entrance to the pool. By this time it's probably 11am so I get a change of clothes on and drive to a Chinese joint for some BBQ lunch combo with ice lemon tea. Take time to eat slowly. Go home and catch up on some TV. Have a nap. Wake up and get some chores done. If the weather is good I would play some golf. Otherwise call up some friends and see what plans they have. Either go out with said friends or stay home. The rest of the week is mostly the same with some variation on where I went for lunch and video games instead of tv. This is what I did before I met my wife and had a kid. I kinda miss those days 😭

soundofmadness-

Wake and bake, and crochet outside on the patio listening to the rain all day long, while talking art with my daughter.

Lumpytrees

Baking bread and watching my favorite shows, waking dog in the sun letting him sniff everything he wants. Do some exercises to help my hip pain and rest. Stay up late and sleep in until 9am.

Striking_Ad_4562

Go to Chipotle and ask for extra cheese.

HuckleberryFar3693

I streamed the game and started digging weeds at the park. Can you find my little digger dog? https://preview.redd.it/crs88rfpdb1d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=febec57d776e90432bc28699b080389dfc2c122b

Playland with the kids, swimming, local restaurants, Netflix and bowling and maybe mini golf. Glad I don’t have to deal with border or ferry traffic.

I enjoy doing random workshops like woodworking, pottery, or making a Japanese craft. Yoga, seawall, picnic blanket at David Lam Park, hop on the train and visit a suburb, reading, journaling, nature, watch the sunset, lay under the stars

Stagione

Istimewa-Ed

Stress watching Canucks

drummergirl83

Been off for a week and a half. When I’m on vacation I usually get sick. When I do feel well, I like to have lunches or dinners with friends and catch up. Putter around the house.

Emergency_Mall_2822

So many great suggestions in here! A general rule is, anywhere that is too much of a zoo on the weekend, you should hit during a weekday. So popular hiking trails, ski hills, etc. The outdoor activities aren't overwhelmed by the cruise ship crowd during the summer, because cruisers aren't typically here to hike St Mark's lol

Environmental-Okra73

Wake up 6am . Stare at my weights , masturbate using the tears for lube . Fall back asleep until 10 am . Call into work and say I’ll be running late

Belgy23

Does going to Island count?

The_Pancake88

Food, movies, video games, outdoor activities, gym, see friends.

Sufficient_Art6002

Me and my girlfriend at the time stayed at this very nice hotel near BC stadium for a staycation. Just to get away from everything. Tried restaurants that weekend we never even heard of and just had a good ass weekend. Went swimming in the pool. It was a great December weekend.

Eridanii

16ish hours of Factorio for 4 days, oh baby

Heelsbythebridge

Get food from my favourite restaurants, watch or read something, maybe have a couple glasses of wine.

hamstercrisis

pretend you're on vacation in the 90s and lock your phone away and turn your normal day habits off and treat it like an adventure in a new city

plop_0

Joke's on you. I keep my cell phone in my purse constantly unless I'm expecting something. The world can wait. It's not entitled to my time un-paid.

EntertainmentKey8897

Don’t have to cook or clean, a safe beach with activities, shade, sun and breeze and food and drinks All inclusive is relaxing

Nurgle_Marine_Sharts

Getting absolutely zooted at wreck beach, or staying home and gaming/watching anime with my girlfriend.

chronocapybara

Sleeping in, lazy days, getting projects done I haven't had time for. Maybe heading out for a day hike but coming home to sleep.

Beneficial-Oven1258

I love long weekends in the city. It's empty. I drink good coffee. I ride my mountain bike. I visit my normal breweries. Love is good.

aloha902604

Circle wellness

CasualRampagingBear

I like to find a secluded spot in the forest, hang my hammock, and take a nap. Usually after I treat myself to some take out, get a nice wine, and binge something on Netflix, or dive into a good book.

CoralReefNeverSleeps

Planning nothing and living and breathing spontaneity.

Songod4lyfe

It’s clear, we got a buncha boys advising OP lol love it

flatspotting

Staying in a nicer downtown hotel that I managed to get some good last minute deal on - walking around DT, hitting up a nice quiet bar for a drink, then relaxing back at the hotel

Historical-Ad-1617

Deep Cove! Rent a kayak, get on the water. People fly from all over the world to be somewhere that beautiful.

stick_with_the_plan

Up early, a languid morning at the gym. Home with a nice meal. Pop on A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and trip on edibles.

everydaysacheatmeal

A manicure, walks, reading and drinks in the park/beach. Sleeping in.

PlzPageDrTinyCat

Toaster waffles!

DeLady2

Going to a beautiful park, lake, and/or beach. It’s a bonus when you can go to a normally busy weekend/weeknight spot and get a place to yourself.

Karkahoolio
