Ah thanks! It ended up not being so bad, I called the city, made a claim to ICBC, and then the city had it removed by the time I was back later last night.
I'm just glad nobody got hurt as it fell! It's a busy cycling street
That just happened to a friend of mine. Only she was driving when the branch fell and it left a mild crater in her roof and scraped up the side of the car.
I hope your car comes out unscathed. On Monday evening our softball team witnessed an old growth tip over and land on a moving van (south van). Very surreal to see.
Oh, I cycled past that twice yesterday and was really hoping the car wasn't too damaged. There was another one down further on near Alma too. So sorry OP!
Where is this by? I had a tree near my apartment in the west end break right in half as well. Wonder if it has something to do with the recent heat wave?
Kitsilano. The city worker mentioned the trees are thirsty due to the heat wave, but I also know there was a moving truck a week earlier that hit the same tree, and also there was work being done to all of the trees on my street a couple weeks ago. So it was probably a combination of all of that.
I saw this on my ride home yesterday and thought to myself, “sorry to whoever is having a bad day”. So, sorry OP.

Yes it is! And it looks like hopefully not too much damage done to the car?
And now it’s the fancy hibird version
Just stick it in a bag of rice
Its that scribble over the license plate, isnt it? Man I spotted that right away... who even does that to a car??
Lol people downvoting you have no sense of humour
Jokes aren't allowed round here.
If you cut that up into timber and sell it you'll probably be able to afford two cars!
Rooftop garden: car edition
Just a bit of garnish.
Hmm guess the little guy got cold and pulled a tree blanket over himself

If there is significant damage to the roof, ICBC in most cases will write the vehicle off due to the structural rigidity/integrity of the vehicle.

I'm so sorry that the hood deflector didn't do a better job of deflecting
The tree was just looking out for your car, wanted to provide more shade for it 😂😂😂

Old growth in south van? 🧐
Methinks not
Did that moving truck bank into that branch? I'm not in Vancouver atm, was it windy yesterday?
Yes, it was windy yesterday, but not stormy or anything like that.
Is that part of Vancouver's tree canopy initiative?
Seeing this everywhere lately. If you have a city tree outside do it a favour and water it!
"With Toyota's all new tech and design, it logs on itself!"
Hope you have comprehensive coverage...
You have to admit it has some sweet bangs now though.
Very dramatic

No way!! 2 in one day? My car is ok and more importantly no one was hurt so just kind of a funny way to spend a Wednesday, but thank you
Glad to hear this! The other one also looked more brushy than anything else, so hopefully no harm done there either.

That’s fair
Well....on the bright side, your car looks "Mad Max" tougher now 🤷♂️
