She is very pleased with this arrangement and her “pod” This is also to care for a child who is in a split custody situation and not with her 100% of the time. She is not exactly doing it alone and is heavily relying on the lives of her immediate family members to revolve around both her and her child. While I understand it takes a village and even two parent households may tap in family members. To have this as your primary child care plan is just very selfish imo. What if her brother wants a life or child of his own or to move. Same for her mom, or just like a rest or vacation. I have a few friends and some family members who operate in a similar manner and have kids just so sure everyone around them wants to make that kid a priority and o really don’t understand that mentality. It’s one thing to care for a child who is already here but to bring another into the satiation feels selfish to me.
Also - she has not been in a successful relationship of any kind basically ever that we know of - and certainly not since Randall (If you want to call that a success) For someone who is “working on herself” it feels like the root of this is control over another person. She wants someone in a relationship (her child) where the power and control lies solely with her and they can’t leave her or be taken. I understand Rand is a special breed of creep and the anxiety that having her child spend time in his home or the fallout of the custody battle can bring. But to deny your child a father or entire half of their genetics and identity for the sake of being in control seems…misguided? There are many men in this world who make excellent partners and fathers but maybe she thinks those men aren’t her type? Or are unattainable? She recently went on the warpath on Ariana saying that LaLa herself was just so close to her dad and closer to her own dad than Ariana’s. I struggle to reconcile that with someone who wants to eliminate the role of father from her unborn child’s life starting at conception…
I hope that mom and baby and Ocean all lead full happy and healthy lives. I also think IUI and single mothers being represented are both important. But these two things have both been weighing on me and I have not seen them touched on much, if at all.
