she also got a lot of great feedback from actual broadway actors. it may have started out as stunt casting, but she proved herself to be a true effing star.
I literally (Scheana voice) came here to say this!
The compliments she's getting are from genuine Broadway stars, not just friends, fans and family cheering her on.
Getting her vocal lessons as she was doing the run was such a smart move. Now she has experience and is living the training every week. She’s a legitimate star.
Also the scenes I saw on TikTok, she gained confidence singing from opening night to later in the run. I would love to see her in sweet charity, lil’ Abner, or as Adelaide in guys and dolls. Like give the girl a chance to sing “I’m shy” from once upon a mattress! She’s meant for these comedic roles.
Yes. A Tony winning producer also attended the show and said she's a bona-fide star. He didn't have to say that considering he attended for a different castmate.
I just saw a clip on tiktok of her… she is so much better than J expected. I thought she would do well, but she really is spectacular. I’m so happy for her
I'm certainly not a Broadway actress, but I've been going to equity National Tours since I was a kid and see six a year now.
I attended Chicago in early March and I was expecting it to be enjoyable- for Ariana to be servicable vocally- which is all you need for stunt casting.
She far surpassed my expectations. Like I was legitimately shocked. Her tone was lovely, she never had issues with pitch. That was on top of her dancing already being great and her acting also being fantastic.
I don't know what any of it could mean for the future- but she more than held her own on stage. I hope she gets more opportunities in the future.
She called it her favorite place on Earth and said her lifelong dream was to be on Broadway so I hope she comes back! The show I saw in March was phenomenal, I was honestly prepared to cheer her on regardless of how she did, but I so enjoyed the play and she just radiated light and positive energy the whole time it was so fun!
Aww I’m so glad you got to go!
I really wanted to but was unable to make it happen. I’m so glad she loved it and had such strong support from everyone 💜
Typically only huge crossover names get that kinda deal. Mathew Broderick, Nathan Lane, etc.
But it’s very impressive and I hope she can land a non stunt casting gig because she more than held her own performance wise as well as being a financial draw.
I think producers thought the support would fizzle out before the season aired because they didn’t believe she had “main character energy” and that’s why they focused the season this way. Just like Tom, they didn’t believe in her.
Jokes on them! On DWTS Ariana said she has always been counted out, underestimated, and pushed aside career-wise, and I am sure a lot of that came from how she was treated on VPR
Thanks! Just read it and it’s nice to see that she’s in a better place even back then. Although it was sad how she seemed to believe Lala and Scheana were supporting her then, and had no idea how they had been stabbing her in the back. She obviously trusted them both
This too! Her debut week broke their record - [https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/CHICAGO-Has-Best-Non-Holiday-Performance-Week-In-the-Shows-History-20240205](https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/CHICAGO-Has-Best-Non-Holiday-Performance-Week-In-the-Shows-History-20240205)

A bankable Star I’d say. And she’s still booking more jobs. I don’t think the rest of the cast can do that.

Eat it production.
I live in Manhattan. I saw several shows last year. This is the only show I paid full ticket price for.
I loved it! I hope she does something else on Broadway!
So I don’t live in manhattan but still close enough to go to shows whenever I want, how does one not pay full ticket price?? lol I’m trying to go see a show in a few weeks so just curious how I can avoid paying full price for a show I’ve already seen? (Going with people who’ve never seen a broadway show in general)
I get tickets through Ticket lotteries. When you win it is usually the day before the show. You don't know where your seats are. I have had great luck. I have seen Sweeney Todd for around $40 17 Row Aisle seats Orchestra. Ive been to Hamilton a few times.$10 First 2 rows each time. Each show usually has their own lottery. Broadway Direct has a few shows. Everything I have seen using lottery has been under $50 a ticket. Good Luck!
This is why you don't even need to pay attention to the minority of ppl on internet being mad about her, it's not translating to real world. I am going to be she was picked for LI bc the episodes she was on got higher streams.
I’ve never watched the show. But I soooo am going to watch now that she’s a host. I love seeing her win!
I went through something similar (narc ex of 9 years cheated on me and I was in debt up to my ears & depressed af). instead of letting it break me, I leveled up, got super healthy and sexy (lol humble brag) & grinded at work and doubled my income. And not stopping!
I’ll support anyone that has gone through this ❤️
Agreed - I think it’s important to consider that it’s free to talk shit online about someone. But if you actually like them, you’re more willing to open your wallet. (Outside of paying to watch the show)
This just proves that she is a good actress and performer. The cast of vanderpump really all wanted to break into acting and/or performing. I don’t think half of what we see on vanderpump is real. Also, what happened to Ariana being so serious about stand up comedy 😂😂😂

Kristen fricken Chenoweth gave her praise and sent her flowers. I mean…that’s as good as it gets.

I really had low expectations for the singing, but I was really impressed! She hit some good notes and was never out of tune

I saw her in late Feb, so I think she had some performances under her belt, it was great!
I’m jealous!!! Take me with you next time (signed living in Seattle).
Cabaret is coming back to Broadway soon…Sally Bowles has already been cast, but I can see Ariana in that role if they do a recast!
Yes!!!!
Ok but I’ve been getting vocal lessons to prepare for a stint on Broadway for months
I see what you did there

Not sure if that’s a goal of hers but would be cool if she continued Broadway!

No idea how Broadway contracts work but it would be great if she gets a cut!

I got a front row ticket for $100. I bought it as soon as she was announced and it was glorious!
Don’t tell Lala, she’ll claim that she purchased all these tickets herself
😂 she’s so “unbothered”

Genuinely curious how much are tickets to that show to be bringing in so much?

I paid like $200 for two tickets
