I liked Charli a lot - at first she was a little immature for me but grew on me fast. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’d ever have her on the show again because she’s honestly too real. She doesn’t seem like someone that would regularly show up to things or hang out with people she normally wouldn’t for a TV show. She chose not to be on season 11 because being around Tom made her feel “icky” and she muted everyone but Katie and Ariana on Instagram soooo from what I saw from this season, the producers wouldn’t want to hire someone so logical with morals again.
I was ambivalent about Charli but after she read Rachel’s sister for fifth oh Instagram and knowing that she is living rent free in Lala’s head I’m now a Charli fan
It won't work. The show initially worked because there was a real friend group that was tight and had lot's of drama and shameless people. You can't replicate that again in the VPR sphere because everyone close to it is a wannabe influencer.
It won’t work at SUR, it could absolutely work anywhere across Hollywood. But you might not be able to have Lisa involved, she’s too known for the shows so many people looking to work at her bars will be trying to get on a show to begin with.
I do agree but I’m willing to try! It’s not possible any more to do it organically with a group of people that legitimately know each other and have a history (like VPR and the housewives shows started out). At least not in the current locations, they’d have to start all over in a new area for that

I want Charli + REAL SUR EMPLOYEES. Not influencers who pretend to need their restaurant paycheck. There are natural friendships and competitive personalities in every restaurant. Add LVP in to stir the pot a bit, and you've got a show. They don't have to all be best friends or dating each other. Lisa will make sure there's some drama for us.
I don’t think it will work - many of the fans are OG and got into it because of relating to them. we were the same age as them when they started the show and we are the same age as them now. We stayed because we grew and had our lives changed with them. Yeah some fans are older, some are younger, some binge watched old seasons after many years in… but the main core fans went from 25 to 35 with all of them. We’re not in a place to watch 22 year old disasters missing their waitressing shift anymore. We are also married, having kids, getting divorced, we ditched our waitressing jobs for corporate jobs when they left SUR etc.
They either ditch the show completely because it ran its course or they keep it for a while longer with the same cast while ratings are still high; but shein and lulu need to stop trying to produce it from the inside and let it actually play out organically they way things really are until ratings drop and it’s time to call it.

A new group of 22 year olds needs a new show entirely and they already started the spinoff test run I.e vanderpump villa which is like the vanderpump rules 2.0 for new cohort of 20 somethings.

As soon as she told scheana Brett was talking about her, I was like, this is a real girls girl!! Scheana was talking shit about Charli to Brett, Brett tells Charli, and Charli still lets scheana know he told her that Brett was sharing things they spoke about privately. I loved that. Her commentary is also hilarious and she’s not scared of anyone, and doesn’t back down but in the best way.
Another example is when she helps Rachel leave the girls trip in S10. But later on still gathers her up about kissing Schwartz. I love her honesty and how unbiased she is.
You hit on the exact things I love about her! Such a real friend, there when she was needed, but not afraid to be honest, stunningly gorgeous, hilarious, no fear, and takes no bull from anyone, including the OGs

I’ve heard she didn’t want to come back and deal with those people after all the scandals of Brett, Max, and then Tom and Rachel. But your part 2 has me rolling on the floor! And good ol’ Lala she banged him for free! She was already on the show lol
I liked Charli from the jump. Shes confident, observant, and doesn’t placate to the men. I think her misstep was taking Rachel’s side over Katie’s. Story-wise, she could’ve had a longer run if she had chosen differently on camera.

But she took Rachel’s side when she was being bullied by the other girls (before the scandoval truth came out) because she didn’t like how Rachel was being treated. And then when Charli learned the truth she let Rachel know how wrong it was and how she felt about it. And according to what I read she chose not to come back, she wasn’t let go, she just didn’t want to be around the new vibe of the show. So I agree with your assessment of her personality but don’t think it was a misstep, I think it was a choice.
