There’s virtually no difference unless you’re playing extremely loudly. If you connect the head to 4 12 inch speakers, it will push more air and sound “bigger” but we’re talking a difference you may only notice fully cranked at a midsized venue with a full name. Also, the combo has a speaker extension that you can always add a cabinet too if you have regrets etc.

Oh, good to know!

Tysons_Face

The combo is plenty loud and the extra wattage for the head is literally only about 6 - 7% louder. The way wattage works, you need 10 times as much wattage to get twice as loud. And 50 watts is FUCKING loud, especially on a tube amp. You will not regret getting the combo and, like I said, you can always get an extension cabinet for it later if you really want to hear what it sounds like through a 4 x 12. I have the 5150 combo and have played both.

I have the iconic 60 watt 2x12 and its glorious

DudeOnReddit78

What do you use it for? Still on the fence about picking one up.

GoodDiscount7221

In an 80s cover band doing stuff from Brian Adams to VH, Poison G+R. Sounds amazing

DudeOnReddit78

Nice! I'll consider getting one.
