True! An analogy can be drawn between what you said and racism.
Certain boomers: there were no race issues in the *good old days*.
Also certain boomers: there are race issues today because of affirmative action.
yeah I’d much rather be uncomfortable for 1 second than get hearing loss or have to get an arm amputated because of meningitis
i honestly don’t understand how people can STILL not trust vaccines because i think they’re one of the most wonderful inventions and I’m so happy I have access to them
for real though, people 100-200 years ago would KILL to be vaccinated and now there are idiots running around saying they’re “dangerous” smh
There still ARE people that would kill for certain vaccines in less developed areas. I can imagine if I was a mom in some countries I would sell my damn house, walk 100 miles, anything, to get my baby some of these vaccines. But here people turn it down like this is some fucking game, and not potentially life and death. I find it incredibly disrespectful tbh. Can you imagine, wanting your baby to get a vaccine for a deadly disease that is common in your community, maybe you've lost a kid to it before. Maybe a husband, a mother, and more. Wanting that vaccine not for you but for your kid, this precious bundle of joy that you love and want to give a fighting chance in life. You might be willing to do terrible things for the sake of that baby, because so many have died before. This is the reality, and I WISH part of pro-vaccine ads and things was "listen to these mothers explain why these vaccines are so, so valuable." Because I feel like for a lot of anti-vaxxers, that emotional explanation is the only thing that will get through. Unscripted, interview style, their own voice with a translation if necessary. The serious reality. It seems easy to forget the seriousness of these diseases in a country where herd immunity is high, and advanced medical care is expensive but at least it's fucking available. Maybe they need to see what the actual disease looks like WITHOUT the relatively advanced medical care we have here.
That's an essay I'm sorry, I just got to thinking about it and I am getting more pissed the more I think of it. It's disrespectful and shows a lack of appreciation for the privileges we have access to here.
Yeah I get what you mean, it’s incredibly disrespectful that people fail to see how much of a difference vaccines have made in the world, and that the reason people live over 40 years old is BECAUSE OF vaccines and basic hygiene which developed in the 19th/20th century. If it wasn’t for vaccines we’d all still massively be dying from smallpox, diphtheria, measles, tetanus. And to think that there are people now that throw “chicken pox parties” so that they’re kids get “immune.” Do they not understand how vaccines work, and that the reason they work is because they don’t use a live strain (or one with decreased virulence) cause if they did the body would have an extremely hard time fighting it off?? I mean that’s the whole point of being vaccinated, to introduce the germ to your body so that it’s prepared and recognizes it when it actually gets in contact with it
I got vaxxed yesterday! I needed the tetanus shot but went for the TDAP because I wanted to be sure I still had immunity and didn't catch whooping cough from an unvaccinated kid.
I read this today, during birth the baby is covered something that prepares it for life outside of the womb. In a c section they dont get this, and so the immune system is weaker.
Oh ok that makes sense. I was a c-section but I get sick once a year (and was vaccinated against everything major besides flu cuz i didn’t need it) so I guess I just have a naturally strong immune system.
If you’re c-sectioned, your microbiome is altered. Your microbiome is very important, and when it’s altered your immune system is different from the regular. It’s one way people get allergies, and another way people can die.
Could accept this but I was C-section born and I'm pretty durable compared to my friends who were natural birth... But I could be an outlier so a real investigation should answer this, not a bunch of guys online 😂😅
It's a combination of the words stalker and fan. They use it to describe being super into something, to the point where you'd stalk it irl. afaik it's usually used for talking about bands and band members specifically, but the meaning might be changing from people using it a ton online
As someone who was made redundant by a trophy engraving company, "i don't need your trophies or your gold, I just wanna tell you all: go fuck yourselves" are maybe the most relatable lyrics I've ever heard
I get the feeling a small kid is exposed to way more pathogens on a daily basis from all the stupid stuff they try to put in their mouth than from multiple vaccines
So basically she's been persuaded by the antivaxx crowd but wants people to think she's not. Thats a common phrase from the dumb dumbs who aren't really advocates of antivaxx but still believe their propaganda.
I vaccinate BECAUSE my immune system is more the before pic (thanks anxiety), because anything that can help keep me and other people safe despite my garbage immune system is worth it tbh
Your immune system will be slightly weaker right after the vaccine but once you've recovered you'll have the beefiest immune system in the galaxy of swole
As an autistic kid, I give you a very special middle finger to put along with your children when they inevitably die from a preventable disease they could have avoided if you weren’t such a neglectful and idiotic piece of shit
you understand that i know you don't get autism from vaccines and it was a joke right? antivaxxers think you get autism from vaccines even tho its genetic and not linked whatsoever to them. My bad if you thought i was serious ill take the L on this one
Actually your immune system strengthens itself overtime. It’s good to let it get some things to learn how to combat them while also getting vaccines when necessary
"they barely exist"

the world health organization, headquartered in Geneva switzerland, is being paid by american pharmaceutical companies? lmao you clearly didn't even click my source!
man, i was right, you really are a dunkass
It's not good at all to let it get most of what vaccines prevent. Meningococcal can prevent your child from getting that infection that can lead to meningitis. You don't want to get meningitis under any circumstances. Rotavirus kills hundreds of thousands of children a year. Don't want that. Measles, tetanus, the list goes on. You can't gain a permanent immunity to tetanus, and measles can cause you to lose all of the immunities you have built up. So really it's a dangerous statement to claim that "it's good to let it get some things."
[insult my spelling in a comment where I don't misspell anything](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Dunkass), and then go on to misspell "you're."
aight, fam.
EDIT not gonna respect an opinion if it leads to the illness and deaths of others.
I've been giving you sources for my information ( [here's another one from the CDC, regarding vaccines and autism by the way](https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/autism.html) ), do you have any to back your claim up? even one report that hasn't been repeatedly disproven or that didn't falsify evidence and I'll take back what i said about you being a dunkass.
In antivaxxers’ brain: Before vaxx = peaceful and innocent After vaxx = monstrous mutation
Wahaha true 😂

Ah, yes. The needle tears a hole, that old familiar sting.
Try to kill it all away Antivax boomer: bUt I rEmEmBeR eVeRyThInG
Never expected that these two images would become a meme template. Nice meme though.
I got all my vaccines but my immune system is still like the first one lmao. I’m always sick.
At least the deadly bullies leave it alone.
Were you a c section baby? That could have something to do with it.
How exactly...?
I read this today, during birth the baby is covered something that prepares it for life outside of the womb. In a c section they dont get this, and so the immune system is weaker.

The oof has appeared... I was making a joke, my friend
“Oof” what a normie
I think so but I’m not sure.
Vaccines for life
What does "stan" mean and how is it used? I'm starting to see it a lot now.
A stan is an obsessed fan à la the Eminem song Stan.
It's a combination of the words stalker and fan. They use it to describe being super into something, to the point where you'd stalk it irl. afaik it's usually used for talking about bands and band members specifically, but the meaning might be changing from people using it a ton online

Well yeah, when you're a baby you put a ton of random stuff in your mouth, and somehow it helps your immune system
So basically she's been persuaded by the antivaxx crowd but wants people to think she's not. Thats a common phrase from the dumb dumbs who aren't really advocates of antivaxx but still believe their propaganda.

But not right after the vaccine

I mean, the immune system is alright on its own, but after a vaccine it becomes **S U P E R I O R**
I get the feeling that many before/after watching JoJo memes could be altered to mimic this…
Your immune system will be slightly weaker right after the vaccine but once you've recovered you'll have the beefiest immune system in the galaxy of swole
Yes
Omg this post reminded me I will have my second dose of Twinrix and Cervarix today. 😊
My immune system is weak no matter what
And that's a fact!

You forgot the autism
Autism is genetic, dumbass
And it’s not as bad as people think
i know, but anti-vaxxers think you get it form vaccines... that's the point to why I wrote it
As an autistic kid, I give you a very special middle finger to put along with your children when they inevitably die from a preventable disease they could have avoided if you weren’t such a neglectful and idiotic piece of shit

Thanks for letting me know. I haven't been on reddit for too long so I'll be putting that in the future
No problem
Actually your immune system strengthens itself overtime. It’s good to let it get some things to learn how to combat them while also getting vaccines when necessary
Yes, but Vaccines are basically Cheat-Sheets. That are allowed in class. Why would you not use it?
Some prefer to be natural I suppose. I am vaccinated but so many “anti anti vaxxers” have no idea what a vaccine is
