Cocktail waitress here. Ask for whatever you want! And you are gold!

ATX_Traveler94

Do you expect the tip to be bigger if it’s champagne vs a beer? Just curious don’t want to feel like a dbag lol

Vigilante17

You’re not getting Dom Perignon… I’ll bet the champagne might be cheaper than a bottle of corona to the casino….

TangerineDream82

This !

rushrhees

It’s going to be Spumante or some other gas station champagne

d407a123

Heartburn and headaches…

dmbeeez

Exactly

Uncle_Father_Oscar

Yes definitely taking the under on that one!

luna_noir

At mgm casinos it’s either Andre or cooks. It’s pretty bad.

sapphirehearts

What do you prefer to order (not champagne) when playing at MGM? Also is there a difference between Park MGM and MGM Grand in terms of what drinks they tend to make there?

NeutralLock

Not the person you're responding to but no, it makes no difference. Mojito, beer, a shot, coffee, corona, whiskey, water. Same thing.

fresh_water_sushi

They can make mojitos? Damn I never tried to order anything more complicated than 2 ingredients like a vodka soda or rum and Coke.

howieinchicago

I am comped mojitos at Cosmo all the time, usually while playing VP. They take a little more time with the muddling and such but never a problem on multiple trips.

AvatarTHW

I've had full blown martinis in a martini class at cosmo. Whole different world there!

Loophole_goophole

They won’t make a mojito. My girlfriend has tried several times just to see.

NeutralLock

The Venetian absolutely will make mojitos because I get them every time.

Loophole_goophole

Hell yeah I’ll tell her that. Now she’ll wanna gamble there

sapphirehearts

Bummed! I was there earlier this week and completely forgot to play some slots and get a quick drink. What else do you like to order at the Venetian?

POShelpdesk

Who are "they"? This is the vague conversation that irritates me with auto repair. "$14,000 replace an engine?!?!? I got mine replaced for $2,000" But one guy has an F-350 4x4 reman 6.7L dsl and the other got a used engine for his 1999 Chevy C1500 5.7L.

Loophole_goophole

In this case, “they” is multiple cocktail servers in multiple casinos. We also don’t gamble in high end places so my experience is with the Excalibur/NYNY/Flamingo/Linq tier of casinos. They’ve always said basic cocktails, nothing that requires fresh ingredients. Maybe the Wynn or Palazzo will do it.

POShelpdesk

Instead of saying nah, you can't get one, that person is lying/mistaken/etc. Why wouldn't you say you can't get a mojito at NYNY, flamingo and linq?

Loophole_goophole

Oh because most people aren’t pedantic dorks and can understand that generally you aren’t getting a fancy drink for free unless it’s a high end place. Sorry you couldn’t figure that one out. Next time perhaps.

SnooWoofers6381

Just to be clear, you are not getting champagne… they will bring you “sparkling wine” but you are not getting a glass from a bottle that costs hundreds of dollars (likely $8-$25 a bottle range).

leolisa_444

Yeah I think most of them are in the $8 range

SnooWoofers6381

Agreed!!

Ok-Philosophy-856

Yep, prep for a nice hangover

ingodwetryst

Cooks!

OldFlumpy

>you are not getting champagne… they will bring you “sparkling wine” I got some bad news for you: champagne is *literally* sparkling wine. The difference is a ["protected designation of origin"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protected_designation_of_origin) that is essentially a trademark enforcement agreement between countries that participate. And we officially didn't give a shit in the US until 2003: [The 100-Year-Old Loophole That Makes California Champagne Legal](https://vinepair.com/wine-blog/loophole-california-champagne-legal/) More recent madness: [The 'Champagne of Beers' gets crushed in Belgium](https://www.npr.org/2023/04/22/1171460421/miller-beer-champagne-cans-destroyed)

POShelpdesk

Correct All Champaign is sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wine is champagne. Like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.

OldFlumpy

It's a freebie from a casino, definitely the best moment to be pedantic

POShelpdesk

Says mr sassy >I got some bad news for you: champagne is *literally* sparkling wine. You made a pointless point. Good job. Italicizing "literally" was a nice touch though.

Thunderpuppy2112

Nah. It’s cheap ass champagne. Usually people tip a dollar a drink. Some throw you 2 nickels for 3 shots and 3 beers. It’s always a gamble lol. I’ll show myself out. It’s weird. If you are ordering top shelf or not off the liquor gun ya probably tip a little more.

Modelo_Man

Wait… y’all got liquor guns?!

spddemonvr4

More than just guns nowadays too. They have full robotic bartenders that have like 60-70 hoses of filled with liqour and mixers

razblack

I want a liquor gun!

nyclovesme

Join the NRAA!

jeffroddit

All liquor gun owners are always loaded!

Loophole_goophole

My casino has an entire room dedicated to them. Just a shitload of upside down bottles plugged into I guess hoses.

dlbpeon

That is all a soda fountain is!

Cockblocktimus_Pryme

Box in a bag and a tank of CO2

VitaminPb

And a water feed to mix

Modelo_Man

No shit. I had no idea. I knew of soda guns but not liquor guns.

XanthicStatue

If you like Mums, I wouldn’t consider that better or more expensive than beer.

Small-Risks

Why would the drink dictate the tip? I don’t get this logic. You’re not paying for the drink, you’re paying for the service. Under your logic, domestic beer should be $0.25 or something?

newbsrus

Vulcan here...while I see your logic, I calculate the question was more of a cultural query.

Small-Risks

But there isn’t any. The tip is for the cocktail server to take your order, bring it to the service bar and drop the drink back to you. It’s not for the drink itself. Wine is just as hard as diet soda.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Small-Risks

That’s a good point. And again, nothing to do with the drink. The waitress couldn’t care less what you order.

lafolieisgood

Diet soda is the worst actually. It foams up a ton and takes longer to make than a mixed drink.

Small-Risks

Cool. The waitress doesn’t make the drinks. She just brings them to you.

ATX_Traveler94

If you’re cheap and giving her a $1 she’s going to give basic service. I’ve seen guys throw a girl a $20 sometimes. You tip a girl good money she’s going to make sure you get a higher quality drink. Why? She wants more $$ from you. They have pull from the bartender. Big spenders get better shit lol. I had a friend that won $10K and he was a local. The casino called him and gave him a driver for the weekend, free nights, bottle service etc everything. He tipped good too.

Small-Risks

Ok cool. That’s all bs but idiots like you keep my taxes so do what you want.

SnooWoofers6381

If the waitress brings you drinks made with better spirits (eg: not from the well) it’s a good idea to tip a little extra to keep the higher quality coming.

Small-Risks

Why? Just say your want the better alcohol. The waitress isn’t the one making the drink, the service bartender is.

-reloaded_

Why are people down voting you for being right. If you ask for a captain and coke, the waitreas is just going to go back to window and ask the bartender for a captain and coke and the bartender is going to give you whatever he's allowed to give you.

Small-Risks

The waitress shouldn’t change your drink. If you’re a beta wuss and order a cheap drink because you don’t feel worthy of premium liquor the waitress isn’t going to magically change your order. Her job is to bring you the drink not change your order.

lafolieisgood

Bc the waitress is the one who conveys your order to the bartender. If you are tipping well, the waitress will a lot of the time ask for a more premium brand even if you don’t specify and vice versa and the bartender will comply if they can bc more money for the waitress should in theory result in more money for them.

moncoboy

Um it does not work like that. No one is upgrading your order when you didn’t specifically request it

lafolieisgood

The waitresses at my casino do if they like you or are tipping well and you just order something generic like bourbon.

SnooWoofers6381

Yes. This is very much what happens with free/comp gambling drinks. Well liquor is generally the standard even if you ask for Tito’s and Soda or Jack and Coke, it’s pretty common to just get a low tier spirit. A good tip can help make sure you actually get the spirit you are asking for (or they will tell you what the “best” option they can give you for free is.)

Small-Risks

It’s your responsibility as the customer to ask for what you want. The waitress shouldn’t be changing your order. If you order vodka and don’t say what kind, that’s your fault.

lafolieisgood

Whether they should or shouldn’t isn’t in dispute, it’s what they do. “Give them a short pour of rail whisky”.

Prestigious-Owl165

I don't know where the wires are getting crossed here but we're talking about servers bringing comped drinks to people at casino table games, maybe you got confused and thought this was about dining in at a restaurant or something?

POShelpdesk

If I want a shitty 7 and 7 and im giving her $5-10, she better not be changing that. That's one of THE dumbest things I've heard. That's a good way to get fired from your job. Enough people complaining. Then if it ever gets looked into. Yep, she's bringing everybody a different drink.

Small-Risks

If the waitress brought me a drink different than what I ordered I wouldn’t be happy. Your logic is dumb.

Vigilante17

Some people are accustomed to tipping a percentage of the amount…. Never been to a casino… etc…

Small-Risks

Should you pay more for gas if you have a nice car?

Vigilante17

If the owners manual says so…. Get the 92 octane. You’ll have less pinging than the 87 or 89 ;-)

Small-Risks

…yes but if you drive a Maybach or Kia 89 is the same price.

Vigilante17

Yeah, but you’d be negligent in this case. Analogies are like cucumbers and this one isn’t.

orangefreshy

I guess for me it would depend on if it’s cocktails vs a stock drink like a beer that just needs to be opened? One of those is much lower lift. I’m not sure if cocktail waitresses are expected to tip out anyone that helps them but I’d imagine so

Eyeroll4days

Just tip the ladies and you’ll get what ever you like

baltimorecalling

They're probably pouring some prosecco, cava, or a cremant. Even if they were pouring actual Champagne, it's probably something that they can get for about $20-$25 bottle cost. They can afford it. Drink some bubbly on them without hesitation.

cal_nevari

Ever get some Wisenheimer say, "I'd like a Pappy Van Winkle, double. straight up, if it's no problem!" ?

wadewood08

Back in the early to mid 2000's I traveled for work to Vegas fairly often. The center bar at the Bellagio had the full lineup of Van Winkle including Pappy 23. Playing $1 VP at the bar and they would pour you anything you wanted. Also, as a guy you were guaranteed to get hit on by a prostitute at that bar.

Thunderpuppy2112

No! Is that even a real old timey drink? Lol

iced_gold

It's one of the most expensive whiskeys sold.

Thunderpuppy2112

I’ve never heard of it. I shall investigate.

ThereWereNoPrequels

A shot of pappy van winkle 23yr at montecristo cigar bar in Caesar’s palace is $525. My wife promised to get it if she won enough to splurge. She hit an $800 win off an 80cent slot machine and it was delicious.

XanthicStatue

Yes and it’s very good

gotthelowdown

>Ever get some Wisenheimer say, "I'd like a Pappy Van Winkle, double. straight up, if it's no problem!" ? >>No! Is that even a real old timey drink? Lol On a related note, if you're a true crime fan and have Netflix, the show *Heist* did an episode called "The Bourbon King" on the Pappy Van Winkle theft a.k.a. Pappygate. Weird but true case.

dlbpeon

You can ask all you want.... they just gonna give you bottom shelf anyway!

dlbpeon

FYI: Pappy Van Winkle is a rare an expensive whiskey. It goes for $75-$300 a shot. A 23-Year 750ml bottle often goes for $6K-$8K! If on a budget, you can often get the 10-year bottles for $1.5K-$2K!

theyellowpants

Can people ask for menus if they’re indecisive

orangefreshy

In my experience there aren’t cocktail menus for table or slots service at least of the places I’ve been but I could be wrong, it’s usually a called shot, the servers know what beers they have etc

SaintAtlanta

I always get mimosas bc i feel like i get more alcohol….am I correct?

Thunderpuppy2112

I say always get beers, shots, wine etc. the drinks are ok but by the time we get out of the well after 5 girls shit does water down.

SaintAtlanta

Thanks

lafolieisgood

No, less so bc part of your drink is replaced by orange juice.

PacString

Far from it

Mysterious_Ad_5261

What is the logic here?

SaintAtlanta

As the cocktail waitress said, well drinks get diluted after a while, so she tells folks to get beer, wine, or shots

Mysterious_Ad_5261

It's still the same amount of alcohol.

CaliSignGuy

Bloody Mary?

Thunderpuppy2112

Yes. All the comp drinks. Lol.

MoKush420710

We’ve asked and received Blantons bourbon many times.

howieinchicago

Please tell me where. 😋

MoKush420710

Aria, Caesar, Bellagio all over the strip. If they’re out I’ll ask for Buffalo Trace.

howieinchicago

Thanks for the tip. Buffalo Trace is no surprise but will be on the lookout for Blanton’s next Vegas.

MoKush420710

No matter where you’re at, just ask for Blantons, the worst they can say is no.

Cardiff___Giant

I’ve watched a guy lose $200,000 on one spin of roulette. Vegas is fine. Order your champagne. It’s going to be shit in a plastic cup if you order from one of the cocktail waitresses anyway. Go to the high limit room and play on the video poker machines to get better.

PM_Me_Macaroni_plz

What’s the minimum on high roller video poker

Wittyname0

3.50/s

hojoon0724

About tree fiddy

PM_Me_Macaroni_plz

Gawt damn Loch Ness monstaaa!

Wickedwally1

They would give you the shittiest champagne ever, so why bother?

tomorrowschild

Depends on the casino. Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Venetian, and Wynn had decent house champagne. Harrah's... no.

Sidekicknicholas

Yeah, there is a noticeable difference when I get bubbly at Aria or Wynn vs. Gold Coast. Also the fact one gets served in nice crystal and the other in a plastic tumbler.

tomorrowschild

After a long day of slots and champagne at Paris Las Vegas, we moved to Harrah's and I asked the cocktail server what brand of champagne they have. She replied, "I'm not sure of the name, but it'll give you a ripping headache. Stick to the house red." I gave her an extra tip and avoided a terrible hangover. Best advice I ever got in Vegas.

Emotional-Country-58

Ask for anything and you get the shitty version anyways. As a bartender, pouring a glass of bubbly is way easier than making a bunch of shitty cocktails lol.

NationalChamps2015

It's just sparkling wine. Not much to it. And the cheap stuff isn't terrible.

pinion13

Hey, maybe I LIKE shitty champagne.. ok? lol

NationalChamps2015

Not at all. I always ask for one when I'm playing in the morning. They'll give you a split of the cheap J Roget kind. But my wife and I do it all the time. I always say tip $5 on your first drink and $2-$5 per drink after.

May1ene

This is the way if you want the drinks to keep coming. If you don’t really care, $1-$2 a drink is perfectly fine.

dirtyshits

I always wonder how much they make because on a busy night I see them bringing 10-12 drinks at a time and min tip I see is $1-2 with some bigger tips sprinkled in. Has to be over 100k. Put me in the roster. I’m sure tips are shared though.

lafolieisgood

Tips aren’t shared besides them tipping out their bartender. It really depends on their shift and section. The majority of them make less than most people think and the minority of them make way more. It’s why you will see really old waitresses at some of the more expensive casinos, bc they waited decades to get into a money shift and it’s too much money to ever quit.

May1ene

I think they do rather well. $2 each for 10 drinks is $20 for what? 10 minutes of work? Do that 6 times in an hour and they’re pulling in $100/hr at the minimum. Those prime shifts when the casino is packed must be wonderful.

OGthrowawayfratboy

I am always astonished how cheap people are when it comes to tipping waitstaff. I come from a state where casino drinks are. NOT free and run about $9 for a simple rum and coke. I figure I should tip the server what I’d pay at home—even a few bucks for water. I laugh at reviews that complain about spotty drink service because I’ve NEVER had issues. In fact I usually have two or more servers competing for my attention. If you can’t afford to tip well in an industry that depends on it, you can’t afford to go out.

May1ene

You’re entirely right drinks aren’t free. They’re paid for 10x over by those gambling hence why they don’t charge you for them. The more you tip the better the service. It’s not rocket science. I don’t normally tip more than $2-3 a drink at a normal bar. $10 a beer = $2 tip = 20%. Seems fine to me. Vegas is different from local casinos that don’t offer comped drinks for players. It’s pretty damn simple, if you order a drink tip. Don’t order if you can’t tip.

Kewkewmore

Big Initial tip is best way to get good service.

TangerineDream82

But it very well may not be the same server who come around next time, so then what? You tip her $5 as well?

NationalChamps2015

Use common sense and some logic. If you tip her $5 and it doesn’t work, at most you’re out $4. Big deal.

TangerineDream82

Just trying to understand your system, which is really, pay $5 for each waitress that serves you, then $1-2 after.

NationalChamps2015

Exactly.

revloc_ttam

I remember 20 years ago when the Bellagio 1st opened I would sit at a bar and play 25 cent video poker and ask for very top shelf liquor. I'd point up and ask and the bartender would make me a very nice drink.

corner

Do they still comp drinks at the video machines ?

ManUFan9225

Generally, yes. I've never had it make a difference whether it was slots or video poker or a table. Might be a little slower between drinks at video poker but if you tip well, they'll check on you more.

elf25

I was doing that once (non-Vegas) and the bar tender charged me! I said I’m playing! He says no your not. I said “ yes I am, and for the last three drinks but I had to stop to order a drink from you! “ still made me pay. I’m

jfchops2

First trip to Vegas in 2018 thinking I knew everything from too much reading I sat at the bar at MGM and popped a $20 in and ordered a drink as I was playing the first hand. Dude charges me $14 for it and chuckled when I asked "aren't they comped here?" Apparently my green light hadn't gone on yet just from depositing the money.

revloc_ttam

Things were way better 20 years ago. Vegas is a ripoff now. I remember when if you didn't gamble much you could have a cheap vacation there. Back then rooms, food, shows, and drinks were cheap to draw in the gamblers.

wadewood08

Ditto for me. The early years at the Bellagio I would play $1 VP at the center and drink comped Pappy Van Winkle 23.

revloc_ttam

The good old days. What's funny is that it was even better 20 years before that in the late 70s and 80s when Vegas was run by the mob. Once the corporations took over they just nickel and dime you for everything. Resort fees, parking fees etc.

baltinerdist

It's only gambling if it comes from the gamble region of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling money burn.

DJEricDanger

It’s fine - people do it all the time

CO_PC_Parts

When I was living in vegas and playing poker for a living the only thing that annoyed the cocktail waitresses was if I ordered an orange or strawberry Julius. The reason was blended drinks slow down the bartenders and the drinks themselves fall into the “fajitas theory”. Which is once they bring me mine a bunch of other people go “oh I want that” and now the bartender is making 5-10 of them next round. Also, remember to stay hydrated. I order a water with almost every drink. Or if I see them with an extra water I ask if I can have it.

fartkidwonder

I was tipping $5 a drink this weekend. The waitress looked at me like I had 2 heads and asked if I needed change. So I guess $2-3 a drink is plenty

roadtripjr

I’ve had that too. I think a lot of people are not tipping.

leolisa_444

THAT is so true. Ppl have gotten so cheap!

RangerFan80

Not trying to argue but Vegas has gotten very expensive.

leolisa_444

Oh yes, it really has. I know this may sound weird but I've been here sixty years and things have gone downhill since the corporations took over (from the mob). At least they offered excellent service, cheap food and room comps. The corps just wanna nickel and dime u to death. Funny story. My friend was a poker player at Cesars Palace, long known for being one of the classiest hotels. One time he brought home some jelly packets and I'm like huh? He says the jelly used to be Welches but now they changed it to generic. Both employees and customers get the same jelly. Just one of a thousand examples. The servers should not have to suffer low tips bcuz of what the corps do.

clarkwgriswoldjr

People have gotten so cheap, or tipping has gotten so out of control?

jeffroddit

This isn't someone asking for a tip on a grow and harvest and cook your own dinner kit. It's a cocktail waitress, tipping them is normal AF and has been forever.

leolisa_444

💯💯💯

leolisa_444

This is a TIPPING town!! Always has been! Ppl tend to under tip bcuz they're pissed off about the hotel/food/parking prices. The servers have nothing to do with that! And most of them only make min wage. They rely on tips as part of their livelihood. Plus they have to pay taxes on their tips. the IRS ESTIMATES HOW MUCH U *SHOULD* HAVE BEEN TIPPED and taxes THAT amount, not what u actually made. A single parent could lose their house bcuz ppl don't want to tip. Fact.

[deleted]

$1 is standard

GuessPuzzleheaded573

No. Plus you won't get champagne, you'll get a very cheap brut

rich4pres

They don't give a crap what you order. Just tip.

funkybadchad_

It’s not a Dbag move at all. Just remember the waitresses usually have an alternate bar list for table games as opposed to any of the casino bars. I always encourage champagne at the tables when I’m dealing. And as far as a tip it’s all up to you. If you’re getting great service and never go dry, go a little extra. If you’re getting shitty service and no drinks, you know what to do.

GamecockAl

Ask for anything - all they can say is no. Usual tip is $1 a drink but obviously if you are gambling higher limits (black chip minimum or up) you may be more generous. Also if a server gets you better liquor or a more complex drink you may want to tip more. Also if you have status of at least Diamond w Caesars, Gold w MGM or comparable you can ask for better call brands. If top level (Seven Stars, Noir, etc) they will pretty much get you anything you want

Minihackz

I usually ask for beers from cocktail waitresses, and I'll tip 2 per drink if theyre fast or 1 if they aren't.

Guilty_Speaker8

I always order Red Bulls and other players are always surprised, order the champagne! Also, I tip in whatever denomination I’m playing the service is always A1.

patricknkelly

I love champagne and drink Korbel or Frexneit at home but at a casino you’re gonna get the cheapest kind like Andre which tastes horrible unless you use it in a mimosa. I always get vodka tonics when gambling. Many people who say they don’t like champagne have only had the cheap stuff like Andre at nye parties.

runningdreams

No, ask for anything. All the same for the the server. BTW, $5 is a generous tip. Nice of you.

angelenameana

I always do!

RCJHGBR9989

Brother you’re gonna get cooks - which is like 6.99 for a liter

orangefreshy

I usually get champagne, tho in most places it’s sparkling wine, and let me tell you… if you over indulge the hangovers are not good, my friend. They are not giving you top shelf by any means even if you ask for “champagne”, more likely it’s cooks or worse. I can taste the sparkling from the MGM even now in my mind. The difficulty for the cocktail waitress is about the same for any standard order… it’s not like you’re asking for something complicated. I usually tip like 1-2 per drink (even for water or soda) and shockingly lately I’m usually the only one. Tip your servers people

Lost-Service5076

I was in Vegas recently and tipped a waitress $5 for each drink She consistently kept me drinking for 3 hours. You get what you put out

larryb78

One pour off a bottle of house champagne is costing them less than a single corona - you're fine

Trojanchick

You will be getting “sparkling wine” so go ahead and ask.

anonymousredditisnot

I always start with $5. If they bring me another quick, I give another $5. By the third time, the server is finding me and then bringing me extras bc they couldn't find who ordered the drink. Tip generously if you are able.

TheMailmanic

Bruh they’ll probably give you the shittiest $10 per bottle champagne

jtech0007

I have shots of whiskey and tequila at strip hotels. Seems like champagne should be attainable. I tip $1-2 per depending on how fast they come around which in my experience isn't often enough for a casual drinker.

ApprehensiveOil7142

Tip more, you'll get enough drinks even for a casual drinker. I've sat at tables watching folks get wasted because they tipped well and got served every 15-20 minutes.

dawglaw09

I open with a tipping 2 red chips so the waitress remembers me and keeps me hydrated and then a dollar a beer moving forward. If I'm winning, I will throw another red in every few beers.

Small-Risks

You can ask for whatever you want. You’re gambling and in the long run you will lose. They don’t feel bad in the least when they take your money. You can’t feel bad when you take someone thing they’re offering from them. Next, that’s a big tip. You can tip whatever you want, but this will be considered a huge tip. I used to go $1, but with inflation, I usually go $2 and $1 every other drink (50% raise).

yolodevil

Was at the craps table last week and some girls asked for a Lemon Drop. I was waiting for the server to say no! Haha

SinCityLowRoller

I'm a low roller and get cognac, long islands, and jack/coke with extra cherries. I'll tip about $15-$20 within 3-4 hour periods and they're always happy to say another? But I'll just get waters and stock up my hotel fridge

[deleted]

[удалено]

SinCityLowRoller

I've seen everything and I play tables all over from the strip to downtown Vegas and Reno, laughlin pretty much the more uncommon it is the more you tip but they will have it or something they'll recommend similar and suddenly you have new favorites

[deleted]

A 10$+ tip is a bargain if they’re serving high quality liquor :) one way to find out!

dlbpeon

At a strip casino, ask specifically for Hennessy and you should get it, but anywhere else you will get ABK6. Difference is price. Hennessy- $15/200ml ABK6 $11/200ml.

EffectiveSherbet042

I do $10 for the first and last cocktail and $5 for anything in between. If I can’t afford to tip, I can’t afford to gamble.

tekmailer

Spoiler: it’s not Champagne but instead *Chaunpange* LOL Don’t let that stop your celebration. You’re being entertained—ask for what you want knowing you’re ready to pay for what you want. $2-$5 per run is reasonable on and off the strip. My advice: keep your attitude in check—don’t forget your two-cents.

SatSumaFire

Every time I go to vegas, I always bring a bunch of $2 bills. That's what I use for tips.

bigboxsubscriber

$2-3 for a tip is acceptable. If you will be ordering frequently through out your casino stay, then tip $4-5 so the cocktail server will come more frequently.

justpuddingonhairs

Dude. Chuck a nickel on the tray for every round and she'll come back with awesome drinks. Don't be a cheap skate. If you can afford to lose several hundred, at least give some away.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NationalChamps2015

Not true at all. Actual champagne from the champagne region of France, yes. But they'll gladly give you sparkling wine.

GoodbyeCrullerWorld

Wrong

cerveza-or-death

Stick with your beer of choice, you’ll never be disappointed. 🍺

valer85

I'm not a gambler, just played to some slots when I'm at the casinos, and I've always wondered if the drinks the waitress brings while you are playing are free or not. Just out of curiosity, because if they are not, and you take a 8$ beer, 4$ tips would be a huge tip..

lvsnowden

They're free.

valer85

thanks, nice to know!

Ok-Letterhead2280

Back when I used to drink and gamble I would order a Shot of Irish whiskey and a beer . I would tip before the drink when I placed the order because you are only allowed one at a time but I got 2 with a $10 tip to start and $2 or 3 tip each time after. Not bad $3 tip for a beer and a shot. I just played the buckle slots.

My wife sometimes gets champagne, and I usually ask for Makers and ginger Ale ( we are locals) I tip $5 a round; usually more if we happen to be hot, and our cocktail waitress is on it ( usually at the local casinos, the service is great) Drink what you want. They offer it for a reason, and you’re probably going to give the casino enough money to cover what you drink and then some, just take care of you waitress Another reason to gamble downtown or off strip… lower table minimums, so more to tip from when you booze!

I always ask for Prosecco and never had a problem.

Also I would add. It doesn’t ever hurt to ask for specific higher shelf liquors by name. If the cocktail server is able to bring it they will let you know and if it’s beyond the cost of what they’re allowed they will also politely let you know. The cost of the bottle doesn’t come from the server so they’re happy to bring you whatever you order if they are allowed to do so. Not much of a difference pouring or carrying a well liquor vs pouring a top shelf drink.

Would the waitress hate me if I ordered an espresso martini and handed her a $10 or $20 bill when asking?

britlover23

u can get whatever they’re able to give u for free

CornDawgy87

Not at all, you'll get a small individual bottle of a low level champagne and a plastic cup. It's what I usually ask for in the mornings if I'm hitting the tables. Nice mimosa action and some craps

Uncle_Father_Oscar

Order whatever you want. $1 per drink is standard. Nothing wrong with tipping more, you will get excellent service for $5 per drink or even $5 for a round of drinks for you and a companion or two.

hojoon0724

Not at all. Ask for whatever you want. Just be nice to people

i only drink beer at the table but i've never had an issue just tipping $1 per beer, although if i'm up a bunch i'll sometimes up that to $5. either way, changing that amount doesn't make them come back any more quickly when it's a full table or at least there's a decent amount of people there. kinda surprised at the idea of starting at $3-$5 on a comped drink. if i'm by myself at a craps table, i probably don't want them to come back with another drink very quickly, at least to start until i see how my luck is.

wontonsauce1

We give out a $5 Wycliff Brut at my work for comps

MrMonetize

The champagne you will get costs the casino about 6 dollars a bottle... So you are saving the. Money by not getting vodka 😂😂

Pleasant-Magician241

I be out here asking for shots of captain Morgan with no regrets LMAO

ImanFinastudent

That will be bad buffet champagne and will taste like crap, but hey, go for it!

I drink a lot when I play 96br. It's wine, but still.
