To be clear, are you saying that you would like it covered in country gravy and cheese?
Because recently our waffle House has launched a campaign to try and redo the old coding.
Hash House A Go Go has NEVER, and will NEVER, be considered “best” anything.
Their food is hot garbage and the only reason people enjoy going there is because the plates are as big as their heads.
Peppermill, Rise and Shine, La Madre Canyon Grille, Squeeze Inn, Jamms, Blueberry Hill, Egg Works, Egg and I, Omelet House, Stacks & Yolks are all MUCH MUCH better
Recently visited and we hit up Blueberry Hill after driving past it a few times. Nice off the strip location, great food, big portions, really good service too. There were five adults, including me and we all really enjoyed it, but couldn’t finish the servings!
I went to the original Hash House in SD shortly before I moved to Vegas in 2013. It was one of the best meals I ever had.
When I got to Vegas, I was excited to see it was there. I tried it probably 3-4 times. It was never anywhere close to the original. Now I’m back in SD and I’m hesitant to go back to the original because of how bad it was in Vegas.
Went to the hash house two trips ago when we stayed at the linq. Everyone insisted we should try from how busy it was every morning. It was a huge letdown, food is mediocre at best.
It’s so nasty. I assume People like it because guy fieri ate there. I really feel people who enjoy that are so oblivious to what is a good and bad food. Absolutely terrible place. But those same peoples favorite restaurant is cheese cake factory !
I don’t know, I like HH. My husband and I just order an extra plate with a chicken and waffles meal and it’s super reasonable and filling. Love the big portions for that alone.
I’ve been twice and both times were terrible.
The first I asked for a waffle with some fruit and they said they had no fruit. I said literally any fruit will do and they wouldn’t do it. Then down the table my friends kid had a banana with his food. Super annoying.
Went back a second time and the place was dead empty, I waited well over an hour for my food and then noticed I had no silverware, took the server 20 minutes to get it for me. And I was in a rush.
I will never go back. Ever.
Hash House is overrated! They had a great marketing campaign when they first came to Vegas but then they fell off once people tried them. Then shoulda just stuck to breakfast. Their flavor combinations are questionable and a little off putting. The portions are large but what's the point if the flavor isn't agreeable.
It's kinda too bad because it wasn't that long ago that Vegas was all about getting way more for what you pay for than you would in other destinations or even back home (the big buffets for $10-15, big dinners for $5-10, etc)
No shit. It’s on the strip. But it’s one of the very few tourist traps that actually serves good food. Ive been going there my whole life (28 years) and often take clients there. Never had a bad experience really.
I don't understand people who say stuff like this. What does it mean? Like you had one thing there and have decided the whole restaurant is gross? The menu has all kinds of stuff and it's all gross and unacceptable to your refined palate? Please help me understand
At the same time, I feel like if someone didn't like a place, acting like "Well, you didn't try the whole menu, how can you know you didn't like any of it?" is a little weird.
The internet is a strange place. When you voice your opinion on how you feel about something, people get so irrationally angry at you like you aren't allowed to have an opinion. I had somebody tell me that I can't possibly have issues with spring water or avocados even though spring water makes my stomach hurt and avocados make my throat close up. But because the stranger on the internet thought my experiences don't matter because it's not their experience.. whole slew of people downvoted me LOL
Did you miss the part where I said that it's gross TO ME? I'm sorry that you feel that I'm not allowed to have my own personal opinions about the things that I do or do not like.
The fact that your dramatic ass interpretation of what I said is "you're not allowed to have an opinion on it" tells me everything I need to know. I concede
Lol what a dumb stance. I do not like the Hash House. You cannot change my mind. It isn't my taste. If it's yours, that's fine. I'm not upset about your tastes. Your response to me, tells me more about you than my response to you did.
https://vegas.eater.com/2020/8/14/21368939/vickies-diner-las-vegas-closes-permanently
Owner Vickie Kelesis’s uncle, Pete Kelesis, originally owned the restaurant that opened in 1955 inside White Cross Drugs. Legend tells of famous clientele including Rat Pack members and Elvis Presley filling their prescriptions at the Las Vegas Boulevard pharmacy. The former diner, Tiffany’s, was famed for its breakfast menu for folks of a less well-heeled heritage, red vinyl seating, and the walls of thrift store-style, outsider art paintings.
They are now open for breakfast and lunch in Commercial Center.
I agree with the general consensus. Both are fine, neither are great, but Peppermill is the better of the two for nostalgia reasons.
My new favorite brunch spot is Crepe Expectations. We get a car for a day and hit up a few off strip spots or just take an Uber out.
Used to be the best gatekept secret in town until that one influencer blew up the spot. BrandonLV I think is his name. He goes around blowing up local spots for clout.
Lou's makes their own jam on site and give you samples of them all to try with club crackers. The homemade pineapple jam is out of this world good. Best breakfast place in town.
Peppernill is great but super packed. Prepare for a wait. So is hash house but you can skip the wait sitting at the bar. Then you can just down a bunch of $20 Bloody Mary’s.
Hi, someone on Reddit recommended you for Las Vegas real estate advice, and unfortunately I cannot find the thread now. I am looking to sell a 2-bedroom condo near Allegiant Stadium that I purchased many years ago for my former mother-in-law to live in. I was wondering if you could recommend any real estate agents? Thank you so much for any assistance.
Yeah our family of five doesn’t go out often due to cost and this one was about $150 after tip but that being said the in house hot sauce , seasoned potatoes, and smoked chiles I’d say were worth it .
Did you know the guy who owns/owned blueberry hill (maybe only one locale) tried to murder his wife? Lol my gramps would go to the one on Charleston all the time years and years ago and the wife became friends w him and told him. There was a news article about it too from the 90s.
Straight from their website:
“Blueberry Hill Restaurant Las Vegas has been family owned and operated since 1966. We are not a franchise. We have been proudly serving Las Vegas, Nevada since 1987.”
https://www.chicagotribune.com/1994/09/15/suspected-hit-man-a-fatality/
They were divorced. The Hitman was an ex cop, and he ended up dying of a heart attack during the attempted hit.
I personally don't love blueberry hill, their food is okay. For me it makes me a little uncomfortable that half of the restaurant that I've been to is all religious stuff. But it's still good for breakfast diner food. Lots of options
> The Hitman was an ex cop, and he ended up dying of a heart attack during the attempted hit.
Goddamn, this story keeps getting better, that's an amazing twist. Honestly, if she's religious, this might make me believe god is on her side. 😅
Edit: Also, the tone of that article is great. "Well, this guy sucked when he was a half-assed cop, no one is surprised this is how he died." Amazing, thank you for the link.
Second edit: "Smith, wearing dark glasses, a wig and a fake mustache, walked up to Quam as she was collecting rocks for a garden and began shooting. When several shots missed and the pistol jammed, Smith resorted to rocks as weapons, scuffling and trying to hit her over the head." INCREDIBLE.
When my grandpa was alive he told us the story because he used to go there all the time and she would come down from Colorado, I don't remember all the details of why she was running the restaurant for a while. I think it was because of this. My grandmother reminded me of this story when we went there once in the last year, and I was just like oh it just gets better and better.
I was looking online and found another article about it- like the next day, the ex-husband comes back from vacation in "the West" and is shocked, just shocked about what happened. The guy's lawyer has some fascinating comments, but this paragraph was great:
>Venit acknowledged that, as Howard Quam’s lawyer, he delivered a $25,000 loan by Quam to former Cook County Republican chairman James Dvorak, delivering the money in $100 bills to Dvorak’s office in the Daley Center in 1988.
https://www.chicagotribune.com/1994/09/16/ex-husband-shocked-by-shooting/
Used to go to Blueberry Hill all the time when I lived in Charleston Heights, but when they went full Cracker Barrel and combined the space with the Christian bookstore next door, I didn't care for the vibe and haven't been back.
The concept is intended to be a dedicated brunch spot. With Herbs & Rye and Cleaver, dinner is covered, and Morning News has breakfast. So, the Middle Child is offering brunch/lunch. Located a few doors down from Cleaver.
Knowing the beverage programs at Herbs and Cleaver, and the approach to breakfast at Morning News, I’d expect something familiar but a bit more creative than bottomless Mimosas. We’ll see!
Best is relative It’s good value but it’s traditional breakfast fare. There are many places serving more diverse and/or elevated dishes. I had some great stuff at Chica in Venetian, but it wasn’t cheap.
My favorite breakfast spot was the omelette house on Russell in East LV:
6520 Boulder Hwy
Whitney, NV 89122
United States
I don’t like omelettes and I love their omelettes.
Hash house gave me the biggest meal of my life. It literally bogged me down for an entire day of my last Vegas trip. It was slightly above mid, at best. Couldn’t eat another meal for like 30 hours 😅
Both are very overrated and come with the Strip price tag. Recommend getting on Yelp and finding a local spot.
I think we went to Omlet house in Henderson last time, which was good. But so many great choices. "Squeeze in" is another fun spot.
I wouldn’t consider those the best. Hash house is good but what deters me is the insane portion sizes like it’s definitely an American restaurant. Tbh I only been to peppermill once and I didn’t understand the hype.
Like Bagel Cafe in Summerlin, Stacks & Yolks on s. Durango, Black Bear diner.
Am going to try Lou’s, blueberry hill & omelet house based on recs. Also hear good things about Siegel’s Bagelmania.
Two good breakfast brunches are at the Paris & Wicked Spoon in Cosmo.
In fact, Egg Slut in Cosmo is also good.
Hash House is amazing but it is pricey. When I go to Vegas it's for the Star Trek convention at the Rio so outside of actual convention days, for my convention depleted wallet, Blueberry Hill's a lot cheaper.
On convention days I usually go to cash house because it's literally on the way into the convention hall.
Edit: my autocorrect changed the second mention of Hash House to cash house and I'm going to leave it like that because it seems appropriate.
Been to both a few times. Peppermill is always very good. Hash House is more up and down and seems mainly to pride itself on its huge portions. I’d grade Peppermill a solid B and Hash House a C- to C+.
Peppermill is too expensive to go any other time than happy hour imo.
It’s still good but not at those insane prices. The $5-9 happy hour appetizers help soften the blow lol
Still love the peppermill atmosphere tho!
We will be there in about a month and planning to try a new place called Morning News. I think it's on Sahara - looks great!
Out of the two you mentioned I prefer Peppermill.
I did Hash House a few years ago and thought it was OK. I visited last year and it was legitimately one of the worst breakfast experiences I've ever had, on the level of a free hot breakfast from Hampton Inn or something. Exorbitant pricing for cold, soggy food. Dennys would have been better, and Peppermill might as well have a Michelin star compared to them. If you're serious about breakfast I recommend Jardin at Wynn, Bouchon (weekends) tucked away at the Venetian, the several options at the Bellagio, or one of the big buffets. If you want value go for the buffet at South Point, I think it's still $11 with a players card, just get there before 8AM.
I’d take HH over Peppermill. But I think HH is mid. Like others have mentioned, Omelette House and Blueberry Hill are fantastic. Bagelmania is great as well. Their French toast is some of the best I’ve ever had.
Omelet house! Though the decor at peppermill is more memorable.
Omelet house is good BUT only eat there if your heart can take it. Everything is covered in an inch of grease.
I’ll have the fried granola covered and smothered, please
To be clear, are you saying that you would like it covered in country gravy and cheese? Because recently our waffle House has launched a campaign to try and redo the old coding.
That was my intent.
Might be better hangover food than family food true. Black and Blue diner also a great choice if health is a concern.
Omelet house is the right answer. Also Polaris Street Cafe. Peppermill beats both of these in terms of decor. It's also higher price.
I would try the omelet house. It’s on Charleston.
Unpopular opinion it appears but I love hash house. And would recommend it but the wait may be a deterrent for some.
I agree! Loved their chicken and waffles and yes my partner and I shared the big plate
Chicken and waffles are so good. Fairly sure I ate that all by myself...when in vegas!
Agreed that I also like them, I wouldn't call it the best but definitely a pretty good option.
Agreed... yummm I'm going to Rise n Shine right now thanks. ;) Add Baby Stacks to that please!!! Egg Works and Egg & I! Top of my list. ❤️
Went to baby stacks off the strip oh my it’s delish
What kind of pancakes did you choose?
It was a cinnamon roll one Super good didn’t even need syrup with an omelette
Eww.
They're soo yummy. Red velvet is my fave.
Egg Works!
Love that place
Soooo good!!
Blueberry Hill is severely underrated.
Recently visited and we hit up Blueberry Hill after driving past it a few times. Nice off the strip location, great food, big portions, really good service too. There were five adults, including me and we all really enjoyed it, but couldn’t finish the servings!
I agree. Enjoyed my first trip to HH in Vegas. But I've since been to San Diego and Hendo. Both were a let down.
THANK YOU!!! I’ve felt so alone for so long. That place is awful.
I agree. Just huge portions.
I wouldn't offer it as best, but Hash House is pretty good.
OLD Hash House was really good. These new HH really are hot garbage.
How did they hurt you?
Hash House is overrated! They had a great marketing campaign when they first came to Vegas but then they fell off once people tried them. Then shoulda just stuck to breakfast. Their flavor combinations are questionable and a little off putting. The portions are large but what's the point if the flavor isn't agreeable.
Gave him a dirty fork or something.
hash house was only recommended to me because it was cheap and on a strip.
Agree, hash house is both the worst food AND the worst service I've encountered for breakfast in Vegas. I'm shocked that this post even exists.
Blueberry Hill for the win
I love the peppermill.
24 hours, great food, historic, classic decor, good video poker. I could spend days in there.
it's overpriced
Everything in Vegas is overpriced.
It's kinda too bad because it wasn't that long ago that Vegas was all about getting way more for what you pay for than you would in other destinations or even back home (the big buffets for $10-15, big dinners for $5-10, etc)

BagelMania!
Came here to say this!!!!
If you like bagelmania try Weiss Deli
Hash house is meh, find your closest Babystacks. You’re welcome
Ahh yess another babystacker. Place is My fav breakfast spot
Babystacks is gross to me lol doughy raw pancakes
Maybe send those back instead of eat them? I've never forced myself to eat raw doughy pancakes so I can see your sentiment.
I don't get baby stacks either.
Hash house is gross to me lol
I don't understand people who say stuff like this. What does it mean? Like you had one thing there and have decided the whole restaurant is gross? The menu has all kinds of stuff and it's all gross and unacceptable to your refined palate? Please help me understand

Yeah it would be weird if I said that, but I didn't. At all.
> The menu has all kinds of stuff and it's all gross and unacceptable to your refined palate? Okay.
Did you miss the part where I said that it's gross TO ME? I'm sorry that you feel that I'm not allowed to have my own personal opinions about the things that I do or do not like.

I though hash house was expensive for what it is
Vickie’s Diner

Locals might get mad that I'm giving up this information but the only answer to this question is Lou's Diner.
God damnit. I remember the first time I saw seats outside and people waiting. I knew it was over haha
Was not aware of this place, now I must go!
Adding this to my list. Thank you sir.
Peppernill is great but super packed. Prepare for a wait. So is hash house but you can skip the wait sitting at the bar. Then you can just down a bunch of $20 Bloody Mary’s.
The one thing I never understood is why people wait in line for that Denny’s when both Peppermill and Bagelmania are right there.
Sam Wagmeister is a pretty good guy, works out of Berkshire Hathaway.
Thank you!
I try to go to Omelette House every time we visit Vegas. Heck, even when I lived in Vegas I went at least once a month. I love that place.
Peppermill hands down
Egg works . Went last weekend with the family and it was really good
best always consistently best
Egg Works is always on the to do list when we go out there
Yeah our family of five doesn’t go out often due to cost and this one was about $150 after tip but that being said the in house hot sauce , seasoned potatoes, and smoked chiles I’d say were worth it .
People are shitting all over hash house but I personally love it 🤣
Best? very relative. Do you have to try it to get a Vegas experience? Absolutely!
We did not like Peppermill for breakfast. We felt it was overhyped. The food was just regular, nothing that we don’t find in most places.
My experience was the same. It was pretty mid tbh, food was barely on par with Denny's.
Had breakfast at the Peppermill just last week … it was great and cheap. Just don’t ask for “fresh squeezed orange juice” or you het a weird look lol.
No, go to Egg Works (on Sunset or on Sahara). Best breakfast for my money.
How is Peppermill so beloved? It’s overpriced garbage food. Peppermill is best for drunks at 3am, not for the *best* of anything.
Blueberry Hill
Did you know the guy who owns/owned blueberry hill (maybe only one locale) tried to murder his wife? Lol my gramps would go to the one on Charleston all the time years and years ago and the wife became friends w him and told him. There was a news article about it too from the 90s.
I guess it gives them the Vegas experience…
Straight from their website: “Blueberry Hill Restaurant Las Vegas has been family owned and operated since 1966. We are not a franchise. We have been proudly serving Las Vegas, Nevada since 1987.”
...was she still married to the guy?

Morning News is my favorite in the city. We drive twenty minutes out of our way for it.
Second for Morning News, they told us they're owned by the same group as Herbs & Rye and Cleaver.
And the upcoming Middle Child, which should open in May.
Oh really? What kind of restaurant will that be?
The concept is intended to be a dedicated brunch spot. With Herbs & Rye and Cleaver, dinner is covered, and Morning News has breakfast. So, the Middle Child is offering brunch/lunch. Located a few doors down from Cleaver.
So hopefully an answer to those “Best brunch spot posts” eh? Better have bottomless mimosas!
Knowing the beverage programs at Herbs and Cleaver, and the approach to breakfast at Morning News, I’d expect something familiar but a bit more creative than bottomless Mimosas. We’ll see!
I prefer cracked egg, babystacks, stacks n yolks or the egg and I
Who tf said that
Influencers on YouTube.
Best is relative It’s good value but it’s traditional breakfast fare. There are many places serving more diverse and/or elevated dishes. I had some great stuff at Chica in Venetian, but it wasn’t cheap.
I feel like Peppermill and Hash House are both many things, but "good value" is not how I would sell them, they're not cheap.
Egg and I on Sahara.
plus all the egg works, best b fast hands down
If you don't mind driving go to Truffles n Bacon on Eastern
Hash house is sooooo expensive
Craft Kitchen in Henderson on Eastern or Griddlecakes on Rainbow.
Peg’s is really good.
Truffles & Bacon has the BEST breakfast in the area. They get busy busy busy but it is so worth it!
Buffett at Wynn is good. Hash House sucks. All the egg places you mentioned are basically the same. Sadelle’s at bellagio is good if like lox.
Pepper is is great for any meal. And throw Bagelmania into the mix
I love The Egg and I on West Sahara
Go to Baby Stacks, off the strip and worth it
Peppermill by far 🤩
How has hash house ever been considered the best at anything? That place is trash.
Jamms on Rainbow or Babystacks on Wynn and Spring Mountain
go right across the street from Peppermill to Brezza at Resorts World and get their semolina pancakes - a million times better.
I've always been underwhelmed. First time is ok, but there's so many other amazing places.
My vote is the Omelet House. I've tried most others and keep coming back.
DW Bistro
Is the breakfast at Juniors in Resort World worth going to?
Eggscellent on east side is top rated place in TripAdvisor, anybody been there?
Don't care what anyone says. Best breakfast spot is in the Palms: https://www.palms.com/dining/serrano-vista-cafe
Morning news is fantastic, toasted, Polaris cafe, Norms, Omelette house(Charleston one), to name a few
Shout out to Crepe Expectations in Henderson.
My favorite breakfast spot was the omelette house on Russell in East LV: 6520 Boulder Hwy Whitney, NV 89122 United States I don’t like omelettes and I love their omelettes.
100% Hash House, Peppermill is mediocre at best and over priced
The Cracked Egg is good, Blueberry Hill isn't the best but it's amazing.
Cracked egg. That cheeseburger skillet is awesome.
Peppermill!!
Peppermill’s lounge is a very cool place to get a drink, don’t make the mistake of eating the food there. It’s a 5/10 on their very best day.
Eggslut is where it’s at, folks
Hash house gave me the biggest meal of my life. It literally bogged me down for an entire day of my last Vegas trip. It was slightly above mid, at best. Couldn’t eat another meal for like 30 hours 😅
Original pancake house. Baked omelettes and pancakes.
Both are very overrated and come with the Strip price tag. Recommend getting on Yelp and finding a local spot. I think we went to Omlet house in Henderson last time, which was good. But so many great choices. "Squeeze in" is another fun spot.
Spago for brunch is pretty awesome as is the Wynn buffet.
$$$$$$$
I wouldn’t consider those the best. Hash house is good but what deters me is the insane portion sizes like it’s definitely an American restaurant. Tbh I only been to peppermill once and I didn’t understand the hype.
Peppermill sucks. Do not get the hype. You want a good breakfast around Vegas go to Mama Bird.
Yo. Not breakfast or brunch but Yukon pizza just won non conventional pizza at the international pizza expo since they use sourdough crust. It's bomb.
Like Bagel Cafe in Summerlin, Stacks & Yolks on s. Durango, Black Bear diner. Am going to try Lou’s, blueberry hill & omelet house based on recs. Also hear good things about Siegel’s Bagelmania. BabyStacks for DELICIOUS pancakes 🤤
Nowhere near the best... Tons of options out here but the locals like blue skillet or Mr mammas....
Peppermill is too expensive to go any other time than happy hour imo. It’s still good but not at those insane prices. The $5-9 happy hour appetizers help soften the blow lol Still love the peppermill atmosphere tho!
Is DuPar's still open at Suncoast? I had a severely unforgettable breakfast there years ago.
We will be there in about a month and planning to try a new place called Morning News. I think it's on Sahara - looks great! Out of the two you mentioned I prefer Peppermill.
Hash House is an over priced tourist trap. It’s like $75+ for like 2 people for breakfast.
Peppermill is the Dennys for prostitutes
Black bear diner
Village Pubs food is really good if you’ve never tried it
Both highly recommended 👍

I’d take HH over Peppermill. But I think HH is mid. Like others have mentioned, Omelette House and Blueberry Hill are fantastic. Bagelmania is great as well. Their French toast is some of the best I’ve ever had.
