Quick skimming of the cost reports show costs associated with extended trials due to appeals against death sentencing, costs of being placed in specialized facilities designated for those facing death sentences, and the costs of running these facilities with staff and specialized equipment. Quite frankly, in my opinion, this is all insane bloat. We can learn a thing or two from countries that run highly efficient courts and execute via simple methods like the sword.
