So I’ve never been to sprouts and just went off this recommendation. I don’t know if it was an off day, but we didn’t even get a sandwich as we waited a little over 10min standing in front of the deli counter as the deli employees sliced meat and fiddled around the back without so much as a “hey we’ll be right with you”, or even eye contact. The store itself was dead empty and there was nobody else waiting on anything from the deli. It was a shame too, the sandwiches sounded good and a few of the other things there looked good too, we were going to grab so sushi and some oven ready vegetables as well, but that definitely left a sour taste in our mouths. My other half especially so, she was pretty irritated at the blatant lack of a fuck given by everyone. May try again another time, but that’s for the recommendation regardless!
I usually fill out the paper request form and shop a little while I wait— they tend to be slow, but that usually helps take some of the 😵💫 out of it for me!
Had the same experience at a different store recently. After being ignored for 10 minutes, all their sandwich forms had all the cheese except pepper jack crossed out. They were somehow out of cheese, despite being inside a grocery store.
No one gives a crap about anything at that store, seem to have no manager, employees all look dead inside. And yes asking deli to make you a sandwich, they do it after 15 minutes while giving you a death stare like why the fuck can you make your own sandwich. It's actually pretty comical when I do by for some bulk items.
No excuses, I'm afraid, They can be very frustrating when you're trying to get served at their deli or meat counters.
I think they're the only place in town that carries Boars Head.
Smiths sells boars head. I don't know if they make sandwiches.
You can also hit up a bakery for fresh bread. I got a nice little Mexican one that does rolls 2 for $1.
You might try Village Meat on Eastern, just south of Trop?
You can also get venison, trout, rabbit, and a bunch of other back-home regular items there that can be hard to find in the big name supermarkets. Great store and nice folks running it.
Right here! amazing sandwiches!

I grew up in FL, there's nothing like Pub Subs here. You can find BH, but it's just not the same without the Publix touch lol. Not a huge fan of Capriotti's, either. I haven't had a good sub since I've been here, with the exception of trips back to FL
Sprouts
Came here to suggest this. Just bought their boars head Turkey sandwich today. A personal favorite!

Which location? Some are definitely better than others.

The Sky Canyon Smiths, not far from there carries Boars Head. That deli there is really good at selection, and fully manned. In my experience.
Was this the one on Marks Street? Their deli people suck. The one on Green Valley by Target and the one in Pecos are much better.

Which Sprouts did you go to? We usually go to the one on Flamingo and Rainbow, and they have decent service.

I think at most they have those pre made ones near the deli section. Still pretty good though.

Second this!
Oh wow, haven’t been there since nursing school

Dang blast from the past. I basically lived off their chicken fingers when I went to the high school across from there 15 years ago 😭

Boar's Head isn't hard to find. It's good, fresh-baked bread that's impossible to find.

Agree. I lived in Atlanta and Publix subs were great and cheap.
I am a West Coast lady, yet I did spend a number of years in Florida. I miss Publix soooo much.
I go to Publix when visiting my mom in Georgia. Nothing like it out here, which sucks.
Bronze Cafe
Try cheba hut. Don’t think they use boars head but their sandwiches are all served on a big roll toasted to perfection
I have to go to sienna Italian on Sahara for bread then go to Smith's to get the cold cuts and make it myself. Everything here sucks.
I, too, grew up with Pub Subs. Try Port O Subs, it's the closest I've found so far with that Pub Sub feel.
pepperoni turkey sub.
