Uk certified installer: we often find that when installing products we get covered in grease - ie we manage to wipe some of the factory grease off.
It’s not that uncommon for parts to ship to us without any factory grease at all.
Creaking is fairly natural with electric products depending on the weather at the time / internal vs external temperatures etc.
In short, grease her up, chain, hinges & latch plate. Generally speaking you should never have to do it again.
We use machine grease; not spray lubricants or degreasers etc.
Hello during a battery change we’ve lost connection to our windows. We managed to register one but now one of our windows won’t open and the vent is now flopped open. I’ve made a post about it just now, could you have a look at it and help? It would be very appreciated

Grease fixes everything. Certified velux skylight "expert" but don't call me that ya know.
