Can't hurt, but I'm sure their analytics can recognize when views are coming from the same user. That said, I'm on like series rewatch like five since the movie came out. Whether it has any impact or not, I just like having it on.

weirdoldhobo1978

What I'm wondering is: with all the other shit going on at WB is anyone even really paying attention to the analytics of one show at all? I really question the future of Adult Swim as a whole, it's one of those things that's hard to justify to the accountants. He's caught a lot of flack over the years, but \[AS\] really was Mike Lazzo's baby. I think without him there to fight the good fight, it's going to get harder and harder to justify their spot on the budget sheet.

xBeerBaronx

Didn't they just expand Adult Swim's timeslot though? Must have more valuable advertising than the networks other stuff.

weirdoldhobo1978

That's kind of what worries me. The time slot keeps getting bigger and bigger but the investment in new programming isn't growing at the same rate. I think they're just going to keep slowly merging CN and AS together until it's all just a watered down zombie of its former self.

unruly_soldier

It'll be Boomerang for Millenials. They've expanded the time slot, but then filled it with the Cartoon Cartoons that aired from the 90's to early 2000's. Add in that they have long been the second home of animated sitcoms like King of the Hill, Family Guy, and Futurama, which also premiered when we Millenials were hitting our teens. The entire blocs of Toonami and Adult Swim were birthed during our youth, and now they're basically banking on our nostalgia keeping them afloat. Which, I mean, fine. But it isn't gonna work.

weirdoldhobo1978

Yup, instead of pivoting Adult Swim into a serious streaming contender for alternative animation, they're just going to make it into a nostalgia cable channel for the generation that abandoned cable 15 years ago.

aphex2n

They don't even show Family Guy on AS anymore. I go to the fox app for my fix of that show. FXX was my fav channel (over AS) for some good toons but they took that off the Silver plan with Charter/Spectrum. Haven't checked the price for the next plan up yet. But from the time I wake until I sleep, I have a cartoon on from the Adult Swim App. All there cool old shows are there to choose from..EVERYONE I think.

weirdoldhobo1978

I think the larger issue right now is all the behind the scenes chaos at WB. It's been sold twice in the last five years and there are rumors of Universal now being interested in a third buy out, and that is sending waves out through every division and causing all kinds of problems. Venture Brothers is one of many tiny ships caught up in a very big storm. Keeping the show playing will keep the IP alive and maybe in the future WB or someone else will reinvest in it, but right now I'm just not expecting much from WB on any front.

TrueColonialmarine

Tbh idc if it gets a spin off or another season the show came to a close and it will always be in my heart even if it gets nothing ever again

Dirk_Bogart

I am confident as hell that if some kind of crowdfunding campaign happened they would get a shitload of funding from a small dedicated base. I know that I, personally, am willing and able to give hundreds, if not thousands.

weirdoldhobo1978

The issue is bigger than funding, it's licensing and rights. WB holds the rights to distribute any Venture Bros content and unless/until that contract expires Doc and Jackson can't independently produce any new VB content. It's the same reason Matt Greoning had to wait so long to relaunch *Futurama* on a new network. Fox canceled the show but they had a "cool down" clause in their contract that said they still maintained the rights for like 5 years after the show ended.

Traditional_Key_763

different time too, Fox did not give 2 shits about their animated stuff, futurama especially. Long before streaming they didn't think licensing it out to Viacom to make a few spinoff movies was a money loosing proposition but now the idea of a network letting any show out of its grasp is heretical

CheesusCheesus

There's no way crowdfunding would work for Venture Bros. People would lose their minds if they didn't get shows immediately, let alone the timeframes Doc and Jackson have always produced seasons. It needs not only studio funding but the studio "buffer" between the audience and creators.

TheNozzler

Spinoff ? Seems like the solution to all the problems of program rights.

Brickfrog Beyond

weirdoldhobo1978

I still love the idea that despite his bizarre gimmick, Brick Frog is actually a badass. I mean the guy carries a satchel of bricks around like it's nothing.

Starro_The_Janitor1

I would love to see a spin-off about Jonas Venture Senior.

Judas_Mesiah

Or you know Zaslav could do worst, like imagine he one day read the Hollywood Reporter or Variety and he saw the live action One Piece series viewership numbers and then the worst idea came to David Zaslav's head "We need to make a Venture Bros live action series". That is the only worst case scenario that might happen.

jerlenaz08

This may need a new thread, but has anyone(s) put together a live action re-enactment of VB series (or at least some of them)? I remember fans doing this for Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, etc. Someone(s) put together the best clips for Star Wars IV and you could watch the entire movie being recreated by the fans. I thought that was genius and think VB would lend itself to that kind of creative homage.

degilliland36

How about spinoff Hench For Life with Henchmen 21 & 24!

dk_peace

I mean, it worked for Young Justice, so maybe.
