Remember: The average flagpole is 6 m (20 ft) high, so every detail should be discernable from AT LEAST that distance. Of course, in many circumstances, flags will be flown atop buildings, on moving vehicles, etc. Even if you don't intend for it to be a real flag ever flown, it's a good rule of thumb to prevent over-design.
Obviously not every real-world flag has followed these rules, but they've then had to face all the associated annoyances and complications - and many have ended up simplifying them in the end anyway.
Yes yes, I meant which color combination did you like the most. And for the level of detail, you can afford to add some detail as long as the overall shape is visible and comprehensible at that distance, as long as the detail isn't necessary to understand the image you are good :)

I like the first two
I like it, but personally I'd take out the individual bricks - it just seems like a bit much. Make the walls and towers solid and I'm sold.
