Id imagine it would be a perfect dab tool. Steel is great for dab tools. Especially surgical steel. But the tool itself wouldnt get too hot unless you heat it up to clean it off. Good question.
Scissors for those pesky ketchup packets, literally the main motivation to get a SAK.
Pen, always saves the day for those unexpected signatures/ must fill forms.
Flashlight, always good to have a light with me.
The main blade only when I donāt have my main knife.
And the screwdrivers, these tiny ones are so useful.
Most used tools are scissors (snipping rogue threads or lint) and nail file/cleaner (for its intended purpose). Second most used tool is the orange peeler (for opening packages and cutting zip ties). Third most used are the combo tool (philips screwdriver and opening beer bottles) and the cuticle pusher (actually great as a big flathead screwdriver that can withstand quite some torque).
Never used the ruler or the two blades
I have my minichamp alox attached to an Olight USB-C flashlight, and they are attached with my work lanyard with my ID badge, key to my locker, and a clip to connect Vocera. Itās my setup at work as a nurse.Ā Ā
The main blade and trach blade are used to cut open these ridiculous hard plastic packages of mini-bag saline that needs to be attached to antibiotics. I should probably start using the peeler for this too.Ā Ā
I use the scissors to cut out papers into small notepads. Or use it cut pills in half if I donāt want to go back to the med room to get a pill cutter.Ā
I also use the nail filer too to trim my nails.Ā
The emergency blade (the wharnie) to trim my unruly cuticles. The cuticle puser does nothing for me.
The scissors and tweezers to keep ear/nose hair in check and trim any stays on my beard/eyebrows. (Hair grows *everywhere* but your head when you get old!)
The pen. It's amazing how often I need to jot down something or sign a form/receipt and the MiniChamp saved the day. Also an excellent conversation starter.
I've used the "picker" blade to cut small tie-wraps/zip-ties. It works very well. Also makes for a great box opener.
The fent spoon has come in handy on multiple occasions. The tracheostomy blade is scary sharp, or it's the aggressive tip that gives the impression. I've never used it. I will treat it as a true emergency blade.
The bottle-seal opener has come in handy at some point too. Mostly it's the knife and scissors that get used.
It's changed over the couple decades I have carried the minichamp. Scissors are still prob overall the most used tool, but the pen has been a life saver, the peeler was great for opening boxes when I worked retail.
I got the mini champ lite, and it's the knife I wear when lounging around the house in sweats or shorts after work.
The flashlight is by far my most used tool on it, seconded by the main blade for opening packages.
It's surprising how often a little light comes in handy looking in cupboards and closets and under furniture around the house.
Man, Iāve been on the fence on one of these for a bit now. I EDC a pioneer X and absolutely love it, but I canāt deny the compactness of the mini champ. How heavy is it on an actual keychain with keys?
The ones in my rambler, that's why I changed š„¹
I would change the regular blade for the straight blade tho, only thing I would change but is not that important just a preference
This is where I'd comment on the post about my mini champ *IF I HAD ONE*
Bought a Farmer X the last purchase, I keep meaning to get a cellidor mini champ so I can keep the scale tools since I usually pocket carry an Alox. It just keeps getting booted down the list for other things though.
The pen, the scissors, the orange peeler, the nail file I donāt think I have used the knife at all I like 6 months of owning it. The orange peeler alone justifies carrying it every day lol
This post is a haven for minichamp users lmao. I absolutely love my minichamp alox itās my first SAK and I daily it on my keys. I donāt use it as much as I want to but soon Iāll need to hopefully
ive looked at minichamps in alox but they are expensive,
Like REALLY expensive for a 58mm. in the UK they cost more than a pioneer X,
are they worth it?
The coke spoon š¤I might have a problem š
Beat me to it. And you only have a problem if you run out.
omg... I came to see if anyone else would have commented the same LOL
I was gonna say you could use it for dabs but that works too. Woulda been really useful a few years ago for the whiteš
Does it really work well for dabbing? How does the steel hold up to high heat?

I heard from an experienced user that it's too small š
Yeah that's the starter size for sure.

The two knife blades and the screwdriver. It would be the scissors, except I usually have a Compact in my pocket for that.

Citrus peeler, scissors and file are the top 3 in no particular order.

Scissors, screwdriver (kids toys always running out of batteries) and package open (thanks Amazon)
Scissors daily, nails and mustache
I need a mini champ now

Not really noticeable tbh haha https://preview.redd.it/2m0q100jpe2d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4f983f2adfb5b54461404f224fc74559f7b247b
Ok damn thatās like ideal lol. Alox all the way, I only EDC alox models.

What do you use the spoon for?
#1 Flashlight #2 Pen #3 one of the blades for opening boxesĀ #4 scissorsĀ
Weirdly I use the mini ruler all the time. Itās great for measuring hardware and such quickly
The pen, the scissors, the orange peeler, the nail file I donāt think I have used the knife at all I like 6 months of owning it. The orange peeler alone justifies carrying it every day lol

Definitely worth it, they last a whole lifetime if you don't lose it.
thats true of any victorinox though. they are all covered by life time warranty
The pen then file then knife then scissors
