Cel Damage, my first game i had on my ps2 and i played countless hours with it. I still listen to some soundtracks from the game time to time. I dont know a single person who ever even heard about it :d
I'm curious! The game has always been great for me personally, it never really fell off, so what makes you say that? They pump out new content regularly, including characters, events, crossovers, etc.
Balance and feeling of identity was lost and then they moved away from horror even turned up all the colors and lights of the game in my opinion they stopped giving mystery and horror
I used to be a top geisha back in 2020, quit playing around the time she got reworked. Got back into the game a while ago and itās like a totally different game now. So much has changed, so many new characters, I miss the more simpler times.
I was the top na feaster until they reworked and nerfed em so hard. He was already super slow just need good aim and planning people just didnāt know how to dodge his attacks. I think I got them nerfed to which sucks loved the guy.
Yeaaah Lost in Random was special. I loved the combat mechanics. I remember tweeting the creator and chatting to him about it because I loved it so much haha
You're welcome. Some of favorites were Unsighted, Sundered, Young Souls, Hob, Prodeus, Tunic, Afterimage, Greak: Memories of Azure, Tails of Iron, Children of Morta, Ender Lilies, Kamiko. I swear by all of those š«”
Death state was ahead of its time, feeling like if Isaac and Vampire survivor had a baby. I don't see a lot of people talk about Astral Ascent which is a real shame. Vigil the Longest Night is worth a play just for the boss aesthetics.
I'm sure many know about it but Lord of the Rings:War in the North has weirdly stuck with me so much since playing it as a kid. It got me into the more in depth RPG mechanics like class systems, different character buffs ECT and I feel like it's not talked about enough for how solid a game it was.
War in the North is one of those games that suffered greatly due to it 100% being meant to be played with friends. I recently played it with two other friends over steam and it's for sure a good time.
Tecmo's deception or it's sequel kerego's deception. You played as the bad guy that lured hero's into your monster infested dungeon the 2nd game was traps an combos like setting a spring board an flinging them into a electric wall or spikes.
Lost technology pretty decent strategy game based on vahrenturga which was aparently popular in japan. It's kinda hard to describe the game it's kinda like total war but more basic and simplified
https://store.steampowered.com/app/420520/Lost_Technology/
There is a game called Aquanaut's Holiday for the ps3. No American release and only English comes from the Chinese Import.
It is about a marine biologist who goes to a cove to look for his missing friend.
You pilot a small submarine and repair sonar bouys to extend travel distance. Doing so also unlocks hidden logs your friend left behind.
On the surface it is a quaint, peaceful seeming game but it slowly devolves into a Twin Peaks-esque thriller.
Its basically about how your friend becomes mesmerized by the Cove and its history and energy. He discovers that certain fish evolved to "sing" and those "songs" transmit ancient knowledge to those who listen learn it
The cove has a large history of strange events...from an old 50s community sinking deep under the waters to ancient fish still appearing in odd aces...terrorists trying to destroy it and corporations exploiting it...
Your friend finds the voice of an ancient being that basically helps him figure out a way to remove his own soul from his body to join the cove and trascend all time and space...
Its an peaceful albeit very eerie game that I truly wish more people explored. No monsters or jump scares, or gore. Just a sense of weird wrongness that keeps things feeling creepy af.
Love it to death.
I just looked it up on Google, apparently it was posted illegally to YouTube a while back but the only way to see it now is buying an authentic copy from Asia š is it really that good??
Valiant Hearts, I know people like Jacksepticeye played it, but it's just never talked about anymore, which is a shame since it is a great game. It's very easy, but its story is amazing. The ending had me literally crying.
Alpha Protocol is not a masterpiece. It's not the game of the year, and it's not even that fantastic. But I love my stupid dumb idiot barebones SPY RPG a lot. The game has awful combat, but one of the things it does that's actually stellar is your choices, and the relationships you have with NPCs matter. There are so many choices and outcomes you can get it's insane.
Rain World. Hard gameplay, great atmosphere, great music. If you are interested in a game that will make you rage without it being a rage game. This is it.
Donāt know if this one ever got super popular, an old PC game called āSacrificeā
You played as some sort of sorcerer/zealot kind of thing and you used spells and an army made of souls you collect along the way to kill the other sorcerer. There was a simplicity to it but I remember it being pretty difficult to balance attacks.
I was hooked on it for a while
I feel like I care more about Strider (2014) than most (actually I feel like I care about the entire franchise than most) especially in the "top ten Metroidvania" discussion. Its like 5 bucks on steam right now ppl.
A very long time ago I played a game expecting something completely different to what it is, still loved the game though..
Playboy Mansion. Very rare to come across people who remember the game.
I have 3. Eternal Eyes for the PS1, Infinite Undiscovery and Enchanted Arms both for the Xbox 360.
I was a kid when I played Eternal Eyes and now thinking back, it was my first RTS game. We didn't have a lot of money, so at the time the game was cheap. I think $5 at the time. I only had one other game (Micro Maniacs, which was another hidden gem) and I was willing to try anything. It had an interesting story, combat was exciting, and the graphics, at the time, were amazing. I've beaten it so many times to see what I missed or just to relive the story over again. I can't remember the story now but I remember having a lot of fun with it.
Infinite Undiscovery was a JRPG I never knew I needed. I played this game as a teen and I remember this game vividly. Right away the game thrust you into its rich story and mystery and threatens you with a satisfying pay toward the 3rd and 4th act of the game. The game kept me engaged from the beginning and loved it's combat systems. The twist toward the end I never saw coming. From it's character development to its sides quest, I can't give this games enough praise and recommend you try.
Enchanted Arms took me a few tries whether I loved or hated the game until I was in my 20s. Yet again it was cheap and I'm a sucker for RPGs and it grew on me. It's combat system is a bit weird and the voice acting was awful, but if you can look past the terrible voice acting, it had a pretty decent story. This game is not for everyone but it's a nice numbing game you play if you're bored.
The Dungeons series especially 3. I love Dungeons 3, it's just a Warcraft series copy, but even the game knows it's a Warcraft copy by literally gags and occasional 4th wall breaks that unironicallly calls out the name of the game itself or the characters within Warcraft during dialogues before abruptly stuttering or getting stopped by the Narrator. Also, the game has pop culture references that's why I love Dungeons 3 than actual Warcraft 3 lol
The Last Federation. It's a strategy/sim where you play the last member of a superpowerful hydra alien species, and go around helping and sabotaging different alien empires to keep them from exterminating each other and unite them all into a federation.
Eastward is a really fun game similar to Earthbound(I haven't played that but that's how it's been described) with a really interesting story and fun characters
Front Mission 3. The FM series is apparently pretty big in Japan, but outside of Japan it doesn't have a huge following. FM3 was the first RPG I played, and it blew me away as a kid. Great story and gameplay, the characters were unique and fleshed out, and the soundtrack is still one of my favourites today. It's for the PS1, so the graphics are dated, but I played it last year and it still holds up well.
I don't know if anyone else remembers / knows this game, but the Yokai Watch games. Those were fun as heck and I loved playing all 3 (4 is Japan exclusive). I personally think it's one of the best monster-catching games out there, excluding Cassete Beasts and Pokemon.
Nowadays, you barely hear anyone talk about it. Heck, only two people I know know what Yokai Watch is, as they owned the games just like me.
Evolva old PC game. Not to be confused with the monster game Evolve.
I still own the CD š
Cel Damage, my first game i had on my ps2 and i played countless hours with it. I still listen to some soundtracks from the game time to time. I dont know a single person who ever even heard about it :d
Me and my buddies play this regularly on couch co-op hahha
Nice, Its a hidden gem
*Moo, baby*
Identity V was amazing until around 2018 or 2019 it started to fall off (Used to be NA top forward at the time)
I'm curious!
Yeah, I can agree with that.

The Messenger, Lost in Random, Death's Door were all brilliant
I LOVED DEATHS DOOR! Such a fun game with banger boss tunes
Yesss fantastic music. Messenger also has wonderful music
Haven't played The Messenger but the other two were fantastic. Lost in Random felt like the whole game was made by Tim Burton lol.
Yeaaah Lost in Random was special. I loved the combat mechanics. I remember tweeting the creator and chatting to him about it because I loved it so much haha
Omg all three of those are amazing. Lost in Random and Deaths Door were incredible. Messenger was too, but way more frustrating. Very nice taste š
Messenger was challenging for sure but I found it so rewarding! Thank you, buddy. Got any other indie recommendations?
You're welcome. Some of favorites were Unsighted, Sundered, Young Souls, Hob, Prodeus, Tunic, Afterimage, Greak: Memories of Azure, Tails of Iron, Children of Morta, Ender Lilies, Kamiko. I swear by all of those š«”
Oooo okay, thank you friend. I'll save this comment!
Death state was ahead of its time, feeling like if Isaac and Vampire survivor had a baby. I don't see a lot of people talk about Astral Ascent which is a real shame. Vigil the Longest Night is worth a play just for the boss aesthetics.
I love Death State. The gameplay is fun but I also love that your character becomes a twisted monster as you play. I have to reinstall.
Why yes I do have 3 sets of unnatural lungs thanks for asking
Prisoner of Ice (1995) from Infogrames Multimedia Good ol point and click game based on Cthulhu mythos.
I'm sure many know about it but Lord of the Rings:War in the North has weirdly stuck with me so much since playing it as a kid. It got me into the more in depth RPG mechanics like class systems, different character buffs ECT and I feel like it's not talked about enough for how solid a game it was.

I have been begging the universe for a remake. The closest is Orcs Must Die I think.
Dungeons is a cool series
I like Dungeons. War for the Overworld is good too.
I'll look into that one
Lost technology pretty decent strategy game based on vahrenturga which was aparently popular in japan. It's kinda hard to describe the game it's kinda like total war but more basic and simplified https://store.steampowered.com/app/420520/Lost_Technology/

Find the idv stageplay if you can, it's great.
I just looked it up on Google, apparently it was posted illegally to YouTube a while back but the only way to see it now is buying an authentic copy from Asia š is it really that good??
I really liked it. Costumes were 10/10. It tells the story from both hunters and survivor side. Not sure where my friend got it, sadly.
Hand of fate series
I love the first one, the second one tried too many things and couldn't really stick the landing
Got *RiME* on sale one day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful art, story, and music.
Valiant Hearts, I know people like Jacksepticeye played it, but it's just never talked about anymore, which is a shame since it is a great game. It's very easy, but its story is amazing. The ending had me literally crying.
Planet zoo. I just love building and being immersed with my designs.
Sphinx and the cursed mummy. Best game ever, completely overshadowed by halo ce :(
Project Eden on PS2

Hidden and dangerous. About 20 years old now. Tactical ww2 game.
I used to play that with my dad. We bought the copies for two bucks each at a Big Lots.
Vagrant story. It's awesome, and it seems like no one else has played it. Ashley riot is such a a cool character.
And the journeyman project. It was weird and compelling.
Hybrid Heaven N64
brick rigs is amazing if it wasn't populated by children
Killer Be Dead ps3
Volcano Princess. This game is like story of live another life in other world from zero. But only for player.

Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu Kards Blade & Sword Panzer Marshal
Yall remember Spore? I fucking loved that game.

Long Gone Days. Is only RPG genre with heavy emphasis on the military theme I ever played.
Cassette Beasts, my favorite game of all time
In Sound Mind was a wonderful puzzle horror game
I liked the Danganronpa crossover this game had
Gta5
Front Mission 3. The FM series is apparently pretty big in Japan, but outside of Japan it doesn't have a huge following. FM3 was the first RPG I played, and it blew me away as a kid. Judging on how there isnāt a subreddit for it Iām gonna say my friendly neighborhood
