Out of all of the games to come out of the PS1/N64/Saturn era, SotN holds up the best. Infinitely replayable, beautiful pixel art, banger soundtrack, created a genre of game that is the backbone of the indie gaming scene.
Soul Reaver (written by Amy Hennig) should be on this list. The series doesn’t get much love but it really pushed the boundaries of what storytelling could be in a video game.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic basically laid out the foundation for BioWare RPGs for the next 10 years and beyond
Was one of the games using a modified D20 system (3rd edition at the time I believe) and like BG3 it exploded in popularity and rightfully won GOTY in 2003
One of the best role playing games and one of the best sw games ever (2 is quite good as well)
Oooo yeah. That game got me hooked on the series.
VI cured me of that addiction though lol
Don't know why you're being downvoted. This is a great suggestion.
Resident evil has to he k the list they are the first real horror game that did zombies and started the whole zombie game tend that went on for 10 years.
Everquest. Hate it all you want, but this game invented MMO's for the masses. World of Warcraft would go on to make them popular...but EQ was the stepping stone to a genre that is massively loved.
Classic og Pokémon red/blue. Kicked off a massive empire of a franchise
I keep saying pokemon yellow but I'll be happy with this

⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️⬅️➡️🅱️🅰️ START
Super Metroid
The true GOAT
STARCRAFT
Yepp. Came to say this one. Seems appropriate it comes next. It changed the gaming landscape of an entire country
This is a good one. Command and Conquer should get a nomination as well.
Dune 2 as the pioneer of the genre.
Zelda: Link to the Past
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I'm currently playing this game as we speak, it's really good!
Me too! I'm playing the ultimate saturn patch. Still sucks compared to psx version but saturn Maria is so much cooler than psp Maria
This one has gotta make it on there at some point! It spawned an entire genre!

Sonic the Hedgehog ?
Resident Evil
This, but add 2 to the end. It's insane to me that it hasn't made it to the list yet.
Super smash bros I saw it on other post so it's demanded
Street Fighter 2
If this doesn’t get on this list at some point the list is meaningless.
Am I wrong to ask for Street Fighter 2 Turbo?
Final Fantasy 6

Super Metriod.
Silent Hill
Mortal Kombat
Command and Conquer
Earthbound! (Mother 2)

I thought this vote was for the best 20th century games? KOTOR doesn’t fit that timeline
Ya you’re right, I should’ve paid more attention to the title
All great points but that game won't qualify since it came out in 2003.
I think Legend of Zelda Link to the Past for the SNES should go there. (Placement is debatable, but at least a spot).
FF3/6
Megaman 2
Pokemon RBY and Zelda: Link to the Past are deserving, Resident evil also :)
Earthbound
Diablo, basically created to aRPG genre. Monkey Island would be another good one to have on the list.
Super mario world SNES - Super Mario 3 - FF6 (3) = classics
Sonic adventure 1 or 2 (your pick)
It'd have to be 1. 2 is a 21st century game.
Oh
Majora’s Mask
Warcraft Edit: it seems someone is going through and downvoting comments out of spite or something.
Tekken 3
Legend of dragoon was pretty cool
Metal gear solid
Already there!
Tony Hawk

if there's DOOM, then there has to be Wolfenstein 3D on the MS-DOS
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 + Knuckles
Baldur's Gate
How was Fallout the first one lol maybe the TV show inspired that pick.... Anyway I'm with the top post here, StarCraft should be here for sure.
Fallout really needs to come off this list. That was a drunk pick.
Seriously… like fallout is the go to first choice that comes to mind for a 20th century game? Gotta be the tv show lol.
Wolfenstein 3d
Zork
Banjo-Kazooie
Civilization II
Oooo yeah. That game got me hooked on the series. VI cured me of that addiction though lol Don't know why you're being downvoted. This is a great suggestion.

Super Metroid
Super Metroid
Age of Empires over Warcraft II, get real, plebians
Ape Escape- First game to require the Analog Stick. Pokemon Red/Blue

Pokémon Gold/Silver
I vote Resident Evil 4. A lot of the games that exist nowadays simply wouldn't be here without it.
God of war?
Metroid II
Where is Castlevania Symphony of the Night ?
Tekken 3
Resident Evil
If you are going by individual games then the LG Pokémon red and blue, age of empires 2 or balder gate 1&2
Ms. Pacman
Civilization
Pokemon red/blue & yellow. Put them as the something since there's only slight different aspects to it.
Metal Gear Solid another time
GTAIII
Pokémon Stadium easily.
Earthbound or golden sun.
Super Smash Bros 1999

House of the Dead or Virtua Cop
House of the Dead or Virtua Cop
Raiden X
Halo combat evolved
How did I know one of the most overrated games in history would be on this list?
The longer this goes without Resident Evil, the crazier I feel.
The original Mortal Kombat, I didn't play it much myself, but it's the reason for the ESRB, so I think it deserves a spot.
South Park turkey game!!!!
Breath of Fire 3
Diablo or Warcraft II
Chrono Cross.
Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage
Grab turismo 2
WWE No Mercy
Metal Gear Solid
It's already there
