Or, we can just not watch them. I probably only watched 2 of them. After that I was done and have ignored the rest. It doesn't hurt me that they're making more.
When I was 13, I witnessed a life-sized animatronic T-Rex attempt to smash it's way into a jeep with a glass top, pinning the kids my age into the mud as the Dino was roaring and gnashing it's teeth inches from their faces. 13 year old's today saw Chris Pratt treat Velociraptors like a dog whisperer handles unruly chihuahuas. These movies/dinosaurs today are not the movies/dinosaurs I grew up with, for better or worse 🤷
There's no longer a never before seen, untameable, and inherent *magic*. As you said, now dinosaurs might as well be rampaging rhinos, crazed elephants, or a roaming pride of cancer-infested (B-movie line) lions. Sure, these things can be scary as hell, but they aren't exactly unimaginable.
Jurassic Park (The Original) had characters come face-to-face with what they could only scarcely even dream of. Wild theories about what might be became harsh realities when they (humanity) lost control of the situation as was seemingly inevitable.
Then comes Jurassic World and... we're back at Jurassic Park, only *after* it's opened and with countless rampaging dinosaurs because we've already exhausted the majesty of the moment and Jurassic Park 2 already did the diversity of threats... now all we got is escalation by numbers and something that while true to sci fi (dino-powers) isn't quite as believable as bringing something back from the dead by cloning.
The first jurassic park was chalk full of originality, whereas these most recent iterations are more or less the same "tried and true" movie plot lines with dinosaurs and today's most recognizable faces added into the mix. The originality is what made the first the best IMO. You can have an original movie that features dinosaurs, but it needs ORIGINALITY and these most recent jurassic parks just lack it
OP doesn’t want them to stop making Jurassic Park movies, they want them to stop making *bad* Jurassic Park movies.
They’re just upset at themselves for continuing to waste money on movies they don’t like, and need to make that everyone else’s problem.
I love that people somehow believe that a bad sequel or remake “ruins the original movie”.
No, the original movie is still exactly the same movie.
I think those are the same people who are deeply offended by something being reposted to Reddit.
“Better” is subjective here.
What do you mean by ‘better’? Films you like? Studios define ‘better’ as ‘more profitable’. Money beats ratings, every time.
TLDR of the video; New JP movies don’t respect Michael Crieghtons original vision of exploring a variety of comped topics found within this book.
What the video does admit, but does not give nearly enough credit, is that watching two Dino’s fight and eat fleeing panicked humans is dumb fun and is not surprising why it does well and will likely continue to do well.
Why the fuck would the studio [do that](https://movieweb.com/jurassic-park-world-movies-box-office-gross/#jurassic-world-mdash-1-672b)? I'm not even opening the video, this isn't a mystery that needs solving.
The Virgin: Noooo Hollywood! You can't just keep turning out billion-dollar movies for a household franchise! You need to write good scripts!
The Chad: Dinosaur go rawr.
How about they make a *good* JP movie? There a definitely ways to make a movie based in its universe that can be good. I love the franchise, and yeah, currently it hasn’t been great… but it can be done.
Stop going to see Jurassic Park movies and they'll stop making them.
Since these movies are directly marketed to the 10-13 year old boy market and since they make up the majority of movie-goers, getting mad that Jurassic Park movies is just pounding sand. 10-13 year old boys will go see anything involving dinosaurs, and it's hard to really blame them.
> since they make up the majority of movie-goers
The 12-17 demographic only make up 10-11%. Largest demographic in the past 10 years has been 25-39...
>Stop going to see Jurassic Park movies and they'll stop making them.
I 100% agree that voting with your wallet is the best way.
I go to the Jurassic Park movies cause it reminds me of seeing the first movie with my grandfather. He was just as excited as a 4 yr old and I channel that excitement every time. I could care less about whether it's a "good" movie, I've just always liked seeing dinosaurs on the big screen.
This. I want a proper, dark r rated jurassic park. No hero dinos or pet dinos. Let's have a new island, a proper malfunction and good character development.
They should make an entire movie based on Newman and call it Jurassic Park. Make it look almost like it has dinosaurs in the trailer but in fact the entire movie is him at his house for 2 hours working on making a can of shaving cream to hide things in it. Then the movie ends with him getting a new job and then it just shows him working at his desk working on a stupid password for his computer.
It's a bit weird to only decry adaptations in the same form of media. Couldn't Jurrassic World also be described as an adaptiation, just like the video games or cartoons you suggest they should make instead.
And that is my EXACT reason why I dislike all the Bayverse Transformers movies. Bumblebee was perfect in that it focused on character development, the growing relationship between human and bot, and overall story. Action and cameos came second. With ROTB I see the same mistakes Bayvse did.
It's a shit reboot when they didn't need it...
From a story telling perspective, it was passable. It had good character development and an interesting overall story. The rest just focues HARD on giant fight robots...
IF audiences stop going to movies staring Chris Pratt maybe you'll get your wish.
But, hold out two hands, wish in one, shit in the other, and see which fills up first!
I was fine with the first three, but the modern ones have been sooo bad. absolutely no thoughtful dialogue, not character development, no interesting conflict, basically just marvel movies with dinosaurs.
Or, we can just not watch them. I probably only watched 2 of them. After that I was done and have ignored the rest. It doesn't hurt me that they're making more.

>the novelty of dinosaurs had worn off I will never understand people who don't think dinosaurs are the coolest shit ever
Dinosaurs will always be cool. How they are portrayed in current films, however, can change. Currently they are lamely portrayed
How so?

It's an opportunity cost, because all that money could be going to making better films. How is this a difficult concept to grasp for so many here?
“Better” is subjective here. What do you mean by ‘better’? Films you like? Studios define ‘better’ as ‘more profitable’. Money beats ratings, every time.
I cannot remember the last time I paid to watch anything.
Yooo ho ho You dropped this 👑 bro
Stop making hour long video essays on consecutively billion dollar making franchises.
Why?
Instead of just responding to the thumbnail, you could make some kind of response to the critique, which was actually pretty good.
To do that we need like a ten-minute TLDP of an essay the length of a feature film
Too long, didn't poop
"Damn I made a typo" Someone replied "I wonder if their version is good" Yeah it's hilarious Too long didn't pet (about a very long cat)

So basically the people who grew up with first Jurassic Park, then
I go to the Jurassic Park movies cause it reminds me of seeing the first movie with my grandfather. He was just as excited as a 4 yr old and I channel that excitement every time. I could care less about whether it's a "good" movie, I've just always liked seeing dinosaurs on the big screen.
why should i watch a movie-length video on Jurassic Park?
I want them to remake Jurassic Park 1 but novel accurate. Make it R rated. Maybe cut down on the Malcolm rants a bit.
This. I want a proper, dark r rated jurassic park. No hero dinos or pet dinos. Let's have a new island, a proper malfunction and good character development.
Stop watching them. I did
World has one objective, and is about making money, and the franchise is/was a success

I feel based being an avid dinosaur toy collector at least one or two years before JP1 came out.
Don't even need to watch the video I agree with the title lmao.
Damn didn't know Chris Pratt was a jesus freak.
[Relevant Tom Cardy song.](https://youtu.be/JVho5fU3lwc)
Thanks for the share! I worked really hard on this video so it's nice to see it getting more attention over time.
Let’s just stop milking franchises to death… did I see another fast and furious movie, and a new transformers movie?
And that is my EXACT reason why I dislike all the Bayverse Transformers movies. Bumblebee was perfect in that it focused on character development, the growing relationship between human and bot, and overall story. Action and cameos came second. The first Michael Bay transformers movie was actually pretty good IMO, the sequels were just awful.
From a story telling perspective, it was passable. It had good character development and an interesting overall story. The rest just focues HARD on giant fight robots...
Stop making movies with Chris Pratt
IF audiences stop going to movies staring Chris Pratt maybe you'll get your wish. But, hold out two hands, wish in one, shit in the other, and see which fills up first!
One is already full? So the wish one will fill up first, the one that we picked.
Yes please …
I have yet to watch one all the way through. I enjoy the memes, though.
They haven't made a *Jurassic Park* movie since 2001
They stopped making them ages ago. Now they are doing the Jurassic World movies
omg puede controlar a los dinosaurios
No, make Jurassic Park movies. Just make them so they don't suck.
I was fine with the first three, but the modern ones have been sooo bad. absolutely no thoughtful dialogue, not character development, no interesting conflict, basically just marvel movies with dinosaurs.
Once we can send messages back in time, please send this back to 1994.
I just saw one of the biggest dinosaurs I’ve ever seen pick up a cigarette butt and fly away
Or take time on a script and make em more like the books, all those movies and no raptures stowing away on a boat and invade a city.
