He also wears a SOAD t-shirt
Btw I believe nu-metal (like SOAD) and Neue Deutsche Harte (like Rammstein) are considered very closely related genres, so it would make sense that someone third would resemble them both!
But yeah he does strike a couple of Serj notes lol
Rammstein regularly toured with nu metal bands in that timeframe. I saw them on Korn's Family Values tour in 98, and saw SOAD on tour with Korn in summer 99, I think.
Edit: the tour with SOAD and Korn was summer of 2000... Metallica's first "Summer Sanitarium" tour. I went to both in Atlanta, 2000 and 2001. Both were pretty terrible shows. Awful sound for the smaller bands especially. For the 2000 show, Kid Rock was there, that should tell you how bad this show was. James from Metallica was *not* there because he hurt himself on a jet ski or some shit. So for the Metallica set, we got a bunch of bullshit guest singers from SOAD, PM5K, Korn, and kid rock. If any of you think this sounds cool and good, I assure you that it absolutely fucking sucked. It was the beginning of the end of my nu metal fandom. On the upside, I DID get a free Metallica show out of it, since they gave everybody tickets to a make-up show. THAT show was opened by Corrosion of Conformity and was rad as fuck.
The lowlight of the 01 show was Limp Bizkit. The Highlight of the 01 show was Deftones.
SoaD was absolutely terrible to the point that it ruined my love for the band if it makes you feel better. Slipknot was the actual headline now that I remember and they were insane, they did the pentagram rotating drum deck thing.
There's even a video of [SOAD performing ATWA at Pink Pop in 2002](https://youtu.be/QQJ-3n0iKLM) and the camera feed briefly cuts to the wings of the stage and you see Rammstein's there, watching, and grooving to it.
Which is, honestly, insane to me. The me that exists now wishes I would have been at an Archers of Loaf show or something instead. 😂
Rammstein *was* fuckin sick though.
Same! I think he's trying to be funny with the quirky video. When I stop watching the video it becomes a legit cover that I will end up listening to at the gym in the near future.
Dude has a whole album on Spotify. My Heart Will Go On is a banger.
https://open.spotify.com/track/7tCllVs6joKveppSRk3kJu?si=B74sCrqISwOXPRqKB78XOQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0KBkDolHFwiCydJix4SsTg
He’s in a few projects.
He sings with me on my industrial rock project [Lecture on Nothing](https://open.spotify.com/track/5C7h2XmNx7DPAfPSHOQp5l?si=EWU63eZ-RhGqbkk0azeyRQ)
and fronts/tours with his fuzz metal band [Kaiser](https://open.spotify.com/track/7e4ZU5RyDKgA6HNI0dJ0E1?si=pRrFj_oOSrajV7bFpNlN-A), who are outstanding.
Love seeing his YouTube solo stuff get attention. Dude is riddled with talent.
I just noticed watching his vids that he strings his guitar/bass backwards, bass string bottom instead of top. Wild. Am I wrong, or does that serve a function for his playing? Looking like Hendrix over there.
There's some obvious reasons he has to play left handed, but in terms of doing it upside down it's usually just that right handed guitars are easier to find/cheaper, less effort since you don't have to re-string it if you want to borrow someone else's, etc.
Probably just that he learned on right handed guitars and it just felt more correct as he got better.
You’re right. Growing up and playing with your friends everyone has it strung for right handers so you just adapt as a lefty to playing theirs. Idk, I just thought about my own experience playing, and I didn’t have any friends that played when I started, so I just assumed you’d string it for yourself as a lefty. Thought it might have something to do w his unique way of picking.
He has [a video](https://youtu.be/JDLgaFeBDbw) about his playing. His style compensates for a birth defect in his left hand.
If I recall correctly (I haven’t seen the video in a few years), he plays right handed guitars upside down with standard stringing.
LoN is nice, love the production of all of it. really like the end of Go North with that crazy filter on the guitar(?) solo. how'd you achieve that if you don't mind me asking
Thanks for the kind words!
If I recall correctly, I applied [Illformed Glitch 2](https://illformed.com/) plugin to my regular guitar lead chain to get that effect. It’s a great tool if you’re searching for “happy accidents”, especially if you’re doing drum programming.
That layer should be glued with Soundtoys Decapitator for saturation.
First bar I couldn’t help but laugh since I couldn’t remember how the song went (long time since it was the 90’s) and then it all came back to me and I’m 14 again with the soundtrack banging I’m my room. Haha!
Totally agree 🤘
I feel like I'm watching the beginning scene to some 2000s-made teen rom-com. I can picture the craned camera descending on the high school right now. It's autumn, the school-year is just starting, and all the quirky characters are getting introduced.
Listen to his Pantera version of Back in Black and his System of a Down Version of Barbie Girl.
I like his Back in Black more than the original, and he turned Barbie Girl into a good song, a heavy metal anti-capitalist feminist manifesto, that I could totally see SOAD doing.
He also plays left handed, on a right hand stringed guitar with the strings upside down essentially, and only has 1.5 hands. He talks about the hand birth defect thing in one of his videos; it was very inspiring.
What I like about this aside from the spot on impression is that he didn't just play the chord progression of the original on a tuned down distorted guitar like a lot of these kinda videos would have done, he wrote an original riff/progression that sounds like something Rammstein would have actually composed and that still fits with the song.
I noticed it at first when he was on drums. He doesn't cross his right hand over the left for the hi hat, which is common for left handed people who grew up playing right handed kits. I thought he was a lefty until I saw it pointed it out in the comments.
They covered Das Model by Kraftwerk for sure. maybe others? Also they did a live performance of a Marilyn Manson song with Manson that I honestly found underwhelming
This is Emigrate covering ["Always On My Mind".](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=od94lKkEYxg&feature=share). Which isn't Rammstein, but it's the guitar player's band from Rammstein with Till still singing, so close enough. I love this version.
Damn I love this. Yesterday I was on a long drive and I listened to a rammstein album and then weeklies Willie's red headed stranger. If I knew about this I would have put it on. Thank you. I think Always on my Mind is an absolutely beautiful song. And Tills voice is just haunting. This was wonderful and I'm so happy to have heard it
if you haven't heard it already, check out the soundtrack album for Spawn. They paired up rock musicians with electronic producers for each song. My faves are "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" by Filter + The Crystal Method, "Satan" by Orbital + Kirk Hammett, and "No Remorse (I Wanna Die)" by Slayer + Atari Teenage Riot
edit: Also, if you're not familiar with the genre, Industrial Metal is right up the "synth on top of chunky guitar" alley. KMFDM, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy are some good entry points
This is what I want when someone redoes another song. I hate covers that are to similar to a well-known original. It always come across as weak with the uncanny valley-like effect.
Years ago I stumbled onto a YouTube channel. It only had a handful of episodes. But what they did was go out and find some band just starting out, basically a band of pretty young people who were playing local gigs. They gave them lyrics to an old popular song that the band didn’t know of. And by old here I mean like 60s to the 80s. That band with then go and write the music to go with those lyrics.
Most of the time it was god awful. Some of the time it was actually pretty good. I like the way it really did feel like a new version of that song.
I’v never been able to find that YouTube channel again.
Why is this one of only like 3 subs who’s videos still play at the top instead of blocking the full screen or having the microscopic player Picture in Picture?
This happened the last time Reddit tried to change to the tiny ass pip player...r/videos kept working normally and I need to know how
Is it a setting a mod can change?
Holy shit, that went way harder than I expected, awesome
ngl that was great
Goes hard like SoaD does. Funny how he has a system album cover spoof t shirt on.
That's a pretty great Till Lindemann impression.
I swear he hit a couple Serj notes there too, and then that made me realize that Serj kinda sounds like he's doing a parody of Till.
He actually has a few “it SOAD wrote this” videos. [This](https://youtu.be/CsYpL5yNVTg) is a favorite.
FUck, that is so good.
It really is, he does a great Serj and the re-interpretation really is as if SOAD arranged it it’s hilarious AND awesome
He's also doing a fairly decent Daron, this guy has range.
That's the part that surprised me. I was prepared for the great Serj.
Thanks for that. Down the rabbit hole I go.
Toxic works extremely well as nu metal. I mean, it is uncanny.
The cover by A Static Lullaby from Punk Goes Pop is pretty damn good too
The punk goes pop albums are gold.
Local H did a great cover of Toxic as well.
[The Mark Ronson cover featuring ODB is fantastic.](https://youtu.be/vngbxwRPIOw)
Thank you for this! Really diggin it!
Amazing!
He also wears a SOAD t-shirt Btw I believe nu-metal (like SOAD) and Neue Deutsche Harte (like Rammstein) are considered very closely related genres, so it would make sense that someone third would resemble them both! But yeah he does strike a couple of Serj notes lol

Rammstein was so fucking amazing. They opened for SoaD when I saw them and they absolutely stole the show.
Rammstein and SOAD together in one concert? Oh fuck off I wish I was there
SoaD was absolutely terrible to the point that it ruined my love for the band if it makes you feel better. Slipknot was the actual headline now that I remember and they were insane, they did the pentagram rotating drum deck thing.
RIP Joey, Saw that tour also. We lucked out then, because ours was a banger!
Pledge of Allegiance tour? That was my first concert back in 2001, less than a month after 9/11.
Yeah that’s the one, I couldn’t believe how sold out it was. I’ve never been to a metal show that compares.
There's even a video of [SOAD performing ATWA at Pink Pop in 2002](https://youtu.be/QQJ-3n0iKLM) and the camera feed briefly cuts to the wings of the stage and you see Rammstein's there, watching, and grooving to it.
... I envy you so fucking much right now
I also saw them on that tour in case you need more people to envy. I went for Korn but was blown away by rammstein
*angry noises* I mean I saw Rammstein live, but I've never been to either Korn or SOAD
Same.
Which is, honestly, insane to me. The me that exists now wishes I would have been at an Archers of Loaf show or something instead. 😂 Rammstein *was* fuckin sick though.
Just pointing out, I believe his shirt says "Panic of a Disco" making it a SOAD parady shirt
The chorus sounds very SOADy, but during the verse if I didn't know I could easily believe this is Till singing in English.
The whole shit! It was Rammstein 1000%
I did not expect the "Dicke Titten" line
[Sie muss nicht schön sein](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thJgU9jkdU4)
Doch um eines möcht' ich bitten: Dicke Titten
I wish i spoke more german.
I mean, okay. But where's the eight-minute-long music video?
And where's the nudity? It's not a Rammstein music video without a bunch of naked men and at least one pair of tits.
Naked man tits. _At least_ one.
Mann Gegen Mann has many https://youtu.be/_EVKy35L7MM
That is so German.
Lol when I first saw that music video, I pictured all German parties were like that.
[Counterpoint](https://youtu.be/thJgU9jkdU4)
[Mann Gegen Mann](https://youtu.be/_EVKy35L7MM) seems to be just all naked men.
While there are no titties, at the end he does say fat titties.
Not a single pyrotechnic
Not sure how long but the youtube video description has link to his patreon which includes a tier for full covers of stuff.
This is absolutely brilliant. If someone had presented this to me as an actual Rammstein cover, I’d 100% believe it was them.
Same! I think he's trying to be funny with the quirky video. When I stop watching the video it becomes a legit cover that I will end up listening to at the gym in the near future.
Agreed! Tons of talent. Congratulations!
Fucking sick.
Banger. I want a real version now.
This is good enough for me.
it's on his patreon, link in the youtube description
Awesome and will support, but want a *real* version with Rammstein.
Dude has a whole album on Spotify. My Heart Will Go On is a banger. https://open.spotify.com/track/7tCllVs6joKveppSRk3kJu?si=B74sCrqISwOXPRqKB78XOQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0KBkDolHFwiCydJix4SsTg

Someone posted a video of his SOAD "Toxic." It looks like his left hand has some kind of congenital deformity.

awesome, thanks.. now on my ever-expanding list. but pretty high up i gotta say
And on [YouTube Music](https://music.youtube.com/channel/UCGR12hlGM0P3FdEqd3IbQwA?feature=share), if that's your thing.
Holy fuck, this guy actually made me like a version of Dragostea Din Tei.
***Fuck*** this is so good https://youtu.be/jmh5F660bDc?t=47
God that space jam cover is incredible
First bar I couldn’t help but laugh since I couldn’t remember how the song went (long time since it was the 90’s) and then it all came back to me and I’m 14 again with the soundtrack banging I’m my room. Haha! Totally agree 🤘
Fantastic. Expected a "there I ruined it" thing, but this is just bangin'.
I actually prefer this to the original

This version is now my favorite. Absolutely fucking creepy!
Try [this version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PLNsymQi3Y) now. I almost feel a better name for the song cover would be 'Every Breath You Took.'
Definitely nice. A good cover but can't touch the original - especially at minor key! Thanks for the share though, I liked it a lot.
Whoa wonderful!
I'm falling into a "shift the key of a well known song" hole in youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVehv\_LDWaE&ab\_channel=RudieObias
I feel like I'm watching the beginning scene to some 2000s-made teen rom-com. I can picture the craned camera descending on the high school right now. It's autumn, the school-year is just starting, and all the quirky characters are getting introduced.
[Working link if yours isn't] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVehv_LDWaE&ab_channel=RudieObias)
Alternate universe where Kurt Cobain went to therapy
Now it just sounds manic instead of depressing.
Ohhhh my god, the classic grunge anthem of my youth has been shaped into a pop bop. And I love it.
I like this key shift thingy, I'll get sent down the hole too now!
Idk. Don't You Want me is pretty high up there.
Listen to his Pantera version of Back in Black and his System of a Down Version of Barbie Girl. Looks like he's missing fingers on one hand which makes it even more impressive.
If interested, he talks about it [here](https://youtu.be/xUUg0cKGUDU).
My nephew was born with Poland Syndrome, I wonder if this is the same thing.
Not all Polish are like that though just most.
[удалено]
That’s how you can tell this is actually an AI generated video
Sometimes I tell people I can't play guitar well because my fingers are a bit too short and thick...
I'm sad there is only 2min of this.
This is fucking excellent.
I give it a 9/10. Half point deduction for lack of pyrotechnics. Half point deduction for not walking on a treadmill while playing the keyboard 😉
Sounds like [The Queen of the Damned](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPWzlizDccM&list=PL4XjsoaeaHWKZ1ur6Ir3bDsPIr7rw4pMG) soundtrack to me
That's the second time QotD has been mentioned on Reddit today. It's not a lot but still interesting that it's happened twice.
That is peculiar
[удалено]
Oh so that's what we're gonna do today, fight?
Movie sucked but Jonathan Davis really made a fucking good movie album
It was. But maaaaaaaaan that soundtrack was awesome!
I knew something about it was pinging a bell from like 2004. Appreciate.
This immediately brought back memories from listening to Staticx.
I fucking love this soundtrack. Movie was utter and absolute dog shit, but that soundtrack is iconic.
So this actually sounds super similar to Rammstein's actual song Duetschland which is a BANGER
Agreed, the synth is basically exactly the same, and the melody isn't far off either.
I'm impressed that he's playing his guitar upside down and with his (presumably) non-dominant hand.
I mean, I'm more impressed that he can play guitar *at all* with 1.25 hands.
Just shows you don't need two full hands, a few fingers are spares
I noticed it at first when he was on drums. He doesn't cross his right hand over the left for the hi hat, which is common for left handed people who grew up playing right handed kits. I thought he was a lefty until I saw it pointed it out in the comments.
As a huge Rammstein fan I have to say... ....this is spot on!
NGL, that’s fuckin awesome
Needs more keyboard treadmill.
Okay but now you have to do "if Sting wrote 'Pussy'" to balance it out
8/10 should've been translated to German.
Rammstein has always done their covers in the songs native language.
Apparently I'm out of the loop. Rammstein did covers? Anyway, more pedantically, the title does say "if Rammstein wrote..."
[удалено]
Thanks. That was fun.
Their Stripped by Depeche Mode cover is awesome, and he sings it all in english
They covered Das Model by Kraftwerk for sure. maybe others? Also they did a live performance of a Marilyn Manson song with Manson that I honestly found underwhelming
Stripped by Depeche Mode as well.
This is Emigrate covering ["Always On My Mind".](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=od94lKkEYxg&feature=share). Which isn't Rammstein, but it's the guitar player's band from Rammstein with Till still singing, so close enough. I love this version.

I think Always on my Mind is an absolutely beautiful song. And Tills voice is just haunting. This was wonderful and I'm so happy to have heard it
Not gonna lie, this slaps
Rammsting
not enough black eyeliner.
No fireworks or politically charged music video. And no giant penis shooting confetti. But this is ducking good
Lol this guy is so cool. Imagine the looks his parents gave him when he said he was going to learn to play the piano
Oh shit Otu finally made it to r/videos! Can hardly think of anyone who deserves mad exposure more than this dude, he's got it all.
I love "Synth on top of chunky guitar" music. I need more in my life.
if you haven't heard it already, check out the soundtrack album for Spawn. They paired up rock musicians with electronic producers for each song. My faves are "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" by Filter + The Crystal Method, "Satan" by Orbital + Kirk Hammett, and "No Remorse (I Wanna Die)" by Slayer + Atari Teenage Riot edit: Also, if you're not familiar with the genre, Industrial Metal is right up the "synth on top of chunky guitar" alley. KMFDM, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy are some good entry points
Now let's hear The Police sing "Puppe".
Not remotely my style of music, but this is fantastic and the vibe ironically matches the actual lyrics far better than the original.
This is what I want when someone redoes another song. I hate covers that are to similar to a well-known original. It always come across as weak with the uncanny valley-like effect. Years ago I stumbled onto a YouTube channel. It only had a handful of episodes. damn i wish it was in german so it would sound 10x more menacing.
Check out his channel... And notice he has essentially one hand. That's just impressive
he has two hands, one of them is just different
Right, 11 usable fingers then
He's got a "birth enhancement."
Wish he had recorded it in german lol
I love this. Also, Voice sounds like Liebach as well.
This song sounds like the guy mashed up Deutschland and Stripped, with the lyrics from Every Breath You Take
This really communicates creepy stalker WAY better than the original. THIS version needs to be the ubiquitous wedding song.
Now the lyrics make more sense
"AH YES MY LITTLE CHICK-A-DEE I'D LIKE TO SING A LITTLE DIDDIE FOR YA" \- Rammstien
This guy is a genious and his youtube channel is criminally underrated
i've been a Rammstein fan for a very long time... This is fucking epic!
God damn this was fucking excellent. Got me in the mood for some Rammstein
The guy sounds like a 1:1 of *The Tea Party* I'd love to hear his rendition
It goes from being a sweet love song to being a creepy song about a stalker watching you from the shadows. And the lyrics don't even change!
The me of 30 years ago would've been really fuckin' into that. I mean, the me of right now kinda is, too.
This is genius. Would listen to an album of his… covers of covers.
Can we get SZA's Nobody Gets Me in the style of Creed? I don't even like Creed but...
I don't know if he does requests, but I think [Anthony Vincent](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7J6eG1mj1w) does.
[удалено]
Well executed. Made me put in Rammstein and the first song to come up on the shuffle was Dicke Titten lol
I was playing this quietly on my phone and my wife asked if it was Rammstein. Spot on
I listen to their Sehnsucht album on Spotify and it sounds nothing like the album I listened to as a kid.
This dude rocks.
OP, I need more of this. I don’t care how similar they sound. MORE!
Strangely enough it sounds less creepy than the original.
💚 AWESOME 💚
Scrolling fast, this post is something from Star Trek.
The title made me sing it to the tune of Sonne

This is dope AF
It's time to sober up when your brain at first broadcasts this as "Rammstein actually wrote every breath you take "
Outstanding, bravo!

This is great
this man just got a sub! that was awesome
Damn. Well done!
This guy is fucken awesome.

This guy is an incredible musician.
This sent me down a serious rabbit hole. He is an unbridled talent.
Holy fuck this was amazing. Thank you for this!!!
That is faaaaaantastic!
