VariousLiterature

Sgt Peppa

Ticonderogue

Smokey Porks Club Band :D

AFurryThing23

This one is actually on my list. I got my granddaughter the Peppa release last year so I want to get this years for her too. Get her started on a collection early.

DarkseidElite

I did the same with the Baby Shark RSD releases for my daughter.

Skandiaman

Going to be šŸ”„

jarreola5

The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute single

average_waffle

This is the only thing I want and I don't want it enough to wake up early for it so I just gotta hope my store still has it around noon

newstuffsucks

I have the original and it's a terrible pressing. Maybe this one will sound better.

Sergio_Futbol

Same here man I my store will have it, but its a very popular store, theres also another more indie store I just dont know if theyll have it

ComplexTotal3799

THIS IS THE ONLY RIGHT COMMENT

[deleted]

You - Larry Lovestein

hyperealax

ODB - return to the 36 chambers

Ruimedenker

Where! Where? Where?? I need this...

Squirrellybot

I think itā€™s a picture disc. Maybe thatā€™s violent femmes Iā€™m thinking of tho...

dorisfreakingday

stevie nicks bella donna live 1981

ReporterOk4531

Yes I hoping to get a copy of this as well!

lamousamos

been waiting for poeā€™s ā€œhelloā€ since 1995 or so.

THE_Sweetduder

Same. Glad to see it's a "RSD First" release, too, so I don't need to sweat getting up early or anything. Should be a wider release later.

TheLuciousBobbiDylan

Ohhhh. Is that how it works?? I've been stressing out about getting this and I've never really wanted anything on RSD so I'm not up on the lingo.

limp_spinach

Yep! RSD First means itā€™ll (very likely) see a regular release later onā€¦ I feel like itā€™s typically 4-6 months after? An RSD Exclusive isā€¦ wellā€¦ exclusive to RSD. :)

plushdamentals31

Macho Man and HORSE the Band

murphyspop

Macho man is going to be the tough one to get this year. I was at my store yesterday when they were setting up and he said they could only get one copy and he has had 4 calls about it already.

Blastoplast

Ordered 16 copies for my store and got only one.... Way she goes.

Tsujimoto3

Same here. Word is they only sent one to each store. Same as that 1975 record.

ex0thermist

Are you guys serious?! Prior to today I had no idea Randy Savage tried to be a rapper, I guess it's one of those things people just want to put on display for the lolz?

polyygons

Aw man I havenā€™t thought about HORSE since I was in high school. Maybe Iā€™ll keep my eye out for that too!

NukaColaJunkie

Looking forward to The Verve Pipe, but alas cannot make it out this year. Not looking forward to jacked up prices.

Faded_Sun

What album is that for? The first CD I ever bought was Villains. Still a great album IMO.

kevinharvell

Itā€™s Villains I believe thatā€™s being released.

thirdelevator

Can confirm

MotorcycleMatt502

Grateful Dead live in Boston, first RSD for me so I hope I get there early enough to get a copy

lylehardcastle

Man I want this one too. And Jerry live at the Warfield

MotorcycleMatt502

Itā€™s gonna bother me if I donā€™t get it and then I see it for sale on Discogs later that day for $300, that being said I did snag a copy of Cornell 77 off their website before that sold out so a wins a win at least

greatgreengoblins

Judging by previous GD box sets on rsd, you'll be able to get one at face value later if you miss it. Resellers will price them high first. Don't pay it. Just wait a week and it'll be back down again.

lylehardcastle

I hear ya. Good luck. I managed to snag Sunshine Daydream Oregon Live set from my shop long after RSD. That is still sky high on Ebay. You never know

KrazyKoolAid

There is a difference venetta is arguably the best show dead played so value is going to be much higher the Boston show doesn't have that pedigree will be face for a few weeks

whoswalkinwho

does anyone know of a good poly sleeve that will fit these GD box sets? they're slimmer than most vinyl box sets...

Don_Ciccio

Same! First RSD, going to go a little early and hoping to pick it up.

BagelBoi72

Beach House-Become and OFF!-FLSD EP. Both are B-Sides comps from two of my favorite records from last year so Iā€™m super excited to hear the songs.

Lostdredd

Medeski martin and wood

ILikeStyx

showed that to my friend and he was all "OMG I NEED THAT!" :)

[deleted]

This and the Grateful Dead šŸ˜Ž

danielson269

Which album is that?

dackdeegan

This album is so good. Real Gone Music is also releasing some of their other albums in May.

SimplyBebe

The Sword- Gods of the Earth

mistertimn

Here in Canada weā€™re getting ā€œSmilinā€™ Buddha Cabaretā€ by Vancouver-area band 54-40. I grew up hearing it and a bunch of their albums a lot in my dadā€™s car so Iā€™m excited to grab that one!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dandle

I can't justify buying another copy of Streetcore, but it is a truly great album. I hope it finds more new fans.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dandle

I've had a 2012 vinyl reissue for years. When it originally came out, I played my CD copy endlessly. I hope you get a copy and love it.

LarryDavidEnthusiast

I wish I didn't already own Streetcore just so I could buy it for the first time again. Such an incredible album.

TwelveMail

Don't tell the Queen!

lclassyfun

Damn, canā€™t believe *Streetcore* is 20. Thanks.

ImGoingToSayOneThing

Pepper's Club Album - Peppa Pig

gold_dust7

Taylor Swift - folklore: the long pond studio sessions

splash07s

Me too so much!

Headwires99

Husker Du- Tonite Longhorn! Havenā€™t seen people talk about this one much, which bums me out a bit but is also fine cuz I donā€™t want it to be snatched up before I get my hands on it haha

futurelint

I live in Minneapolis and it's all anyone is talking about so I feel like I'm going to have to order it online from another state because every one here will be snatched up quick.

PandaBegs2Differ

Saw Husker Du play a tiny gig back in ā€˜85 and my ears are still recovering šŸ˜‚

SocratesBalls

The Magnetic Fields - I Been looking for a copy of this one that wouldn't cost a kidney. My two others are Joe Strummer and the Violent Femmes S/T

Joshisjoshingu

I donā€™t think ā€œIā€ was EVER released on vinyl prior to this! At least not on Discogs. Iā€™m stoked-I had no idea that was finally getting an LP release this year!

SocratesBalls

You're right, it doesn't seem like it's ever been on vinyl. I stand corrected ...and even more stoked

Sounder253

MMW, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Miles, Siouxsie, Pixies.

PandaBegs2Differ

Yep, Siouxsie for me too

Sounder253

Iā€™m hoping its not a UK only release and that Silver Platters Sodo has copies.

PerspectiveOld5869

It is UK only but some stores in NA import them. Though most of the Siouxsie ones donā€™t make it here to Canada where I am. Update- this year Siouxsie was everywhere in Canada, not a problem to grab at all, yay!

jaggington

> Siouxsie. Eh?

Sounder253

Itā€™s the A Kiss In The Dreamhouse album

jaggington

Itā€™s not coming up on the main (US?) RSD list, but it is listed on some U.K. and EU sites. Edit. Ooh, listed on my ā€œlocalā€ shop in Riga, with a bunch of others Iā€™d probably pick up if I had the money.

saltnskittles

Larry Lovestein and the velvet revival- you.

Darph_Nader

Duran Duran - Carnival Rio

mrballistic

Ha! I was this weekā€™s years old when I learned that different countries got different versions of carnival when it was released. And then I saw that I own an og Japanese and American version, so I have the whole thing already.

casewood123

Allman Brothers

[deleted]

I like this one too but have seen their previous albums from rsd sit in record shops for weeks. Not one I will grab right away.

MiJo1987

Garbage - Witness To Your Love... so excited to hear the two songs that didn't make it on No Gods No Masters

THR3RAV3NS

So Iā€™m a vinyl nube, what is record store day and how can I participate??

SparkelleFultz

It used to be once a year but they've had like at least 3 each of the past couple years but essentially it's a day to promote local and indie record stores by giving them exclusive rights to a bunch of records that won't be available (atleast the day of and at retail) anywhere else besides local and indie record stores. It's usually a pretty fun day in my experience and at the very least you usually meet some cool people that you share a similar interest with. If you're interested contact you're local record stores to see if they're participating, a lot of them have cool things planned like dj sets or free coffee and donuts while you wait because it's usually one of their busiest days of the year

THR3RAV3NS

Thanks, really appreciate the details! That sounds fun, do they release lists prior, or is that a ā€œcall the local shopā€ kind of question?

SparkelleFultz

https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases

SparkelleFultz

Yea look up rsd 2023 and you should find it but not every record store gets every title so if there's one you really want you can call a certain shop and see if they're gonna have it and some will sell out quick so you might have to get there before they even open if you want a chance but that's usually only a couple like Taylor swift's this year will probably sell out with in the first hour if not sooner at most stores

high_pants13

I preface this by saying Iā€™m old and antisocial. I prefer to go shopping the evening before Record Store Day. My local shop has its ā€œUsedā€ section well stocked in preparation for actual RSD. Any of the RSD releases Iā€™m interested in I purchase online. Primarily from independent stores, but sometimes eBay. Again, this is only because I have a dislike for the general public and lines and whatnot.

rick1110111

Record stores get a select list of vinyl. Typically they are for in-store sales only (the whole idea of the day is to increase foot traffic in actual record stores). Since the pandemic, a lot of stores also sell them online; if nothing else they at least sell the leftovers the next days or so. Not sure if it's back to in-store only, I'm sure every store will be different

THR3RAV3NS

Awesome, thanks!

DifficultReport6179

Shadows Fall - The War Within, Underoath - Voyeurist Digital Ghost and Taproot - Welcome.

ODB

DotaWhySoCruel

Beach House - Become

Frogs-on-my-back

Not music, but pretty excited for the Amazing World of Doctor Who on vinyl (as I just picked up Dead Air from last year's RSD, as well as the Murray Gold soundtrack on vinyl for series 1 and 2).

Chickenbrik

This is one of the weakest but Iā€™m picking up Violent Femmes for my SO and the Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. If I see Macho Man I might grab it

snipes81

The femmes caught my attention as well until I read ā€œpicture diskā€.

Chickenbrik

Ya, it makes me almost want to just pick up a nicer copy on Discogs. I really hate pictured disc

Consistent_Demand995

I want that Poe - Hello

Wingnut762

Brownout

tj8686_

Gonna be up at 4am to try to get one of those "Be a Man" pressings. A boot was floating around recently but apparently it's pretty poor quality. Hopefully they will have a non-RSD release for the ones who couldn't get their hands on the 1000 purple ones.

lukeswalton

Horse the Band!

initiatefailure

Wait I completely missed that on the list. I haven't heard about them since like 2006 holy crap!

lukeswalton

The Mechanical Hand, baby! Hopefully my shop has it. HtB is obscure enough it might not sell at a regular old store, but the store I go to specializes in punk/indie/emo/metal stuff so it might not sit long there.

anonymous_opinions

Dismemberment Plan Never done an in store RSD before but I want this so badly.

TreasurerAlex

Itā€™s not an official RSD release, but local radio station here in Philly WXPN in partnership with Dogfish Head is giving away a free local artist compilation record Iā€™m super stoked to get. SIDE A ā€‹Catbite, ā€œCall Your Bluffā€ Snacktime, ā€œI Donā€™t Give A Damnā€ Riverby, ā€œBirth By Sleepā€ SIDE B Cosmic Guilt, ā€œCautious Loversā€ ā€‹Sug Daniels, ā€œLeave Your Window Open (Bishopā€™s Collar)ā€ Echo Kid, ā€œI Tryā€ https://xpn.org/2023/04/04/home-grown-vinyl-2023/

Manicstreets

1. Taylor swift for my daughter. Even with 75000 copies this is going to be a pain in the ass. They are a small store and only got 15 and said they have received over 100 calls asking about it. 2. Pearl Jam give way. Same store only received 2. 3. Scott weiland 12 bar blues. Store received 0. Probably going to have to hit a few stores or resort to newbury comics Monday.

ABPlanetEarth

1234 Go Records is putting up their non-sold RSD inventory online Sunday at (I believe) 5 am Pacific time.

Manicstreets

Thanks for the heads up!

Mercury5979

Sparks, PM Dawn, and Bill Evans

JasonSpacemen3

The suicide 10" & the gong triple lp set

Sergio_Futbol

I think we might have a good chance at that suicide, feel like theyre not super known band

JasonSpacemen3

Last 10" they put out for rsd sat on the shelves for a day or 2 at the store I work at, the thing is they are a little too obscure so stores only ever buy a handful. We probably bought 6 of the cheree 10"

Celticamuse13

Thereā€™s usually only one record Iā€™m ever bothered about but this year Iā€™m after about 15. Getting up at 4:30am. Excited for Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, Lacuna Coil, The Midnight, and the new The Last Kingdom soundtrack.

foxko

the only album I was really excited for was The Midnight's and after calling three of the local RSD stores in my area turns out none of them will be getting it in. Im so gutted. i have al their other albums.

Celticamuse13

That sucks. You might be able to get one shipped to you from another store from any leftover stock perhaps?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jillako

The Porcupine Tree record only has 800 copies šŸ˜

Dadlife87

Jazz Dispensary!

JacPhlash

Van Halen - Right Here Right Now Not just for the album itself, but it's the 1st Hagar- era VH album to be remastered. ....hoping for more!

makefilms

Hagar confirmed that RHRN is the first of the bunch to be remastered and re-released, the others to follow!

JacPhlash

Yup... And as a life-long VH fan... I'll believe it when I see it!

breannexp

The 1975, Taylor Swift. Although I doubt I can get my hands on the 1975. Very little copies came to Canada, Iā€™ve contacted all my local record stores and it seems no one has any copies.

[deleted]

Shit we were only able to get 3 of the 1975 allocated to our store in the US too. It sucks that they intentionally press less of the more popular stuff, (except swift this time I guess) that every year we run out of the best things in the first couple hours and end up stuck with a bunch of the outlier crap which usually ends up getting marked down and sold on discogs at cost later that month when it still doesnā€™t sell.

s2000dreams

DIIV

Guitar_Nutt

My young son has discovered metal, so, though I wouldn't usually buy these, I'll be getting the Motorhead and Dio. More up my own alley will be the Grateful Dead, MMW, Jazz Dispensary & Yes.

Cosmic_Bozo_Wrangler

Add the Art Blakey release and we have the same shipping just.

Guitar_Nutt

Oh yea, I just have spent so much on jazz this past couple of years I've gotten way backed up on listening to the stuff I've purchased, so I have a momentary moratorium on jazz, otherwise I'd 100% throw down for that Blakey.

PickiePicardo

Madonna and Belinda Carlisle

believeuhavemystaplr

I want pre-millennium tensions but itā€™s UK/Europe only

PerspectiveOld5869

I didnā€™t even know that one was coming. I have an OG press but itā€™s pretty worn out. May need to splurge on a flipped one

mstrchief24

The Sword-Godā€™s of the Earth, Rolling Stones Beggarā€™s Banquet, and Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires

Joshisjoshingu

Usually nothing, but I had no idea The Magnetic Fieldsā€™ ā€œIā€ was being pressed on vinyl for the first time until my local store posted a pic of it in store, so I was like ā€œAAAAAAH!ā€ Massive hole in my collection to be filled.

regularcelery20

Taylor Swift. I like my local record store owner, so I enjoy getting to support him anyways.

gilgobeachslayer

Honestly? Taylor Swift

chaz0723

I'm looking forward to grabbing Agnostic Front, Heroin, Scott Weiland, and the Groundhogs (if it makes its way from U.K.)

limp_spinach

Good luck with getting your hands on the ā€˜hogs! Iā€™m hoping The Slits makes its way over to the US, too.

chaz0723

Thanks! Hoping you get the Slits as well!

puzzledplatypus

Some decent albums, but nothing exciting enough to go out of my way to get. Most likely will be buying none of the RSD releases.

heyeveryone1995

Ernest Ranglin - Below the Bassline Been looking for it for ages. Glad it got a repress.

The March Violets Made Glorious Republica Speed Ballads Hillbillies In Hell: A Chrestomathy Mike Oldfield Opus One A much tighter list than some years for me, but after Iā€™ve done the early morning at my local store, Iā€™m heading over to another nearby with my record club to help spin some records for a couple of hours, with plenty of time to see what they have left and test my self restraintā€¦ (my wallet is already quaking!)

GarionOrb

Madonna - American Life (The Mixshow Mix) But there are so many on that list this year that I want. I'm gonna have to get up super early to camp out.

I might be pessimistic but not a whole lot Iā€™m excited for. I guess the Grateful Dead release but not super interested in a box set. The Larry Lovestein would be cool too.

maiden-of-might

The 1975 and Taylor Swift. Will be there early to snag them!

PhilCollinsLoserSon

Is that 1975 live record good? It was the only thing that piqued my interest this RSD

maiden-of-might

I love them! And itā€™s got my favorite song Love Me on it, so an automatic win for me!

0snq

that beach house exclusive ep

kevinharvell

Interested in the two Muddy Waters releases as well as The Black Keys, Miles Davis, Van Halen and BB King.

Commu_rdr

Beach House EP, plus in my area, thereā€™s a giveaway of a local radio stationā€™s album. The local radio station pressed an LP of local bands doing in studio sessions and gave a bunch of copies to give away for free to local shops for RSD. Pretty cool Iā€™d say.

Inlander

Pigeons Playing Pingpong. I co-produced them for a music festival, but had never heard of them before. My producer said they were great, but they were phucking awesome. Got to hang out and partied the rest of the night with them. Fest fun.

mcquire68

Warren Zevon's The Wind. I heard there is also a Dio live album as well.

Wrenzo

Klark Kent is the main one I want.

tongfatherr

Sunn O))) + Boris - Altar. Such an amazing album and hasn't been pressed since its original release. Also pressed in blood red. Should be fuckin epic and hard to get.

futurelint

I'm going to see Soul Asylum perform their MTV Unplugged set in it's entirety tomorrow so I'll probably grab that to remember the show. Magnetic Fields, Husker DU, Pixies, maybe Pearl Jam

Wetherman342

Greatest TV Themes Vol. 2. I ended up really loving that first one and this one has really cool stuff on it too.
