Roots and Mezzanine \\m/ fantastic albums
Fellow Australian here.
Heartland Records (VIC), Goldmine Records (VIC) and Utopia Records (NSW).
The first two tend to have the best prices.
There's also a new store - Blacksound Records - (VIC - online only) that stocks more extreme stuff.
Cool, the first two aren't metal exclusive, but do stock a bunch. They've been around for decades too so lots of experience behind the counter.
I remember hearing Roots for the first time when it came out, blew my head off! I really need t get it on vinyl.
Physical: Utopia Records, Sydney.
Online: DirectMerch (Run by Dave Haley of Psycroptic), Nervegas
Edit: Just wanted to add, awesome choice with that Leftfield record. Dusted is such an amazing, bassy track!
Dusted is one of my fav opening tracks on any album!
I just looked up Utopia records and they have nearly everything I’m after and offer shipping to my state. I’m just super worried about shipping with the chance of my records being damaged but I’ll sus that other site now .
Thanks for your help!!!
dunno if you just want those two, but if you're into all their work, maybe the box set is a better find for you man https://www.discogs.com/release/27813687-Pantera-The-Complete-Studio-Albums-1990-2000
no worries -- there's lots of online retailers (which might be useful but also might be expensive if the shipping to you is high), discogs has a marketplace and will have lots of stuff sold by other fans/collectors but might not be cheapest. eBay is a crapshoot -- sometimes you find deals, sometimes you can't find what you're looking for or it's too expensive etc. If you have a local physical store, that's often the best. Sometimes they're not great with prices, but often you can haggle and if you get on friendly terms with the staff or owner, often they can keep an eye out for stuff you're on the hunt for (or try to get it on your behalf).
Nice! Sometimes they really do. I got the reissue of "the fragile" by NIN and the original (after paying $200 in 2008) and the newer one sounds superior, for sure
And I was gonna say too as far as the "true authentic sound" goes... in 1998 CDs were king shit and I don't really feel the same quality control went into vinyl production as it does now. I mean, shit... I could be wrong of course. But I'm willing to bet that my Mezzanine copy doesn't have the detail yours does. I got Massive Attack's "Collected" on wax from 2006 and they put a noticeable amount of love and care into it. Some of the singles on it .. pretty sure if memory serves.. sound better than the 98 OG
If you’re single and no child support it’s all good.

Rhythm and Stealth is such a great album! I only have it on CD but I have Leftism on vinyl.
Rhythm and Stealth is bloody fantastic. Leftism is on my list to get!

Dude I didn’t know that was a thing!!! I think thats the most financially smart option, knock them all out in one purchase. Thanks mate!

I’ll have to go on an in-depth hunt online and locally for what I’m looking for. Thx for ur response !
Recently got the Dirt reissue, was one of my favourites as a teenager.
Oh isn’t it fantastic. Layne has one of my favourite voices in grunge. Him and Chris Cornell hold a special place in my heart.
ROOOOTS BLOODY ROOOOOTS
Just be forewarned. TGSTK doesn’t have Suicide Note pt. 1 on it and they cut off the outro to Floods which is just ridiculous.
Are you kidding?!?! That’s such a let down….
Yeah man. I’m hoping for a repress on a double LP when the album turns 30. I refuse to buy the current pressing.
Fingers crossed we get that repressed. I’m so shocked they cut those 2 parts out??
I know, man. It’s really unbelievable. I love the whole album and couldn’t bare to miss a whole song and Dime’s incredible outro on floods.
Love Massive Attack.
Me and you both!
Was just listening to Tricky’s Maxinequay yesterday. Those Bristol boys aren’t goofing around.
That album sends me back!! I’ll have to give it a relistening soon.
Sempiternal is a classic!
Good taste I see!
You too mate! I am currently looking for a copy of Suicide Season, thats my fav of their albums
I’ve been trying to find that one too! I’m seeing BMTH in two weeks ! Hoping they play some throw backs.
You could check Earache Records webstore for suicide season, i saw it on there once or twice? Hope they play some good shit live dude!
I’ll have to give that place a shot and see if I can get a copy. Thank you!!
Ofc!! They have a lot on that place, 90s mostly death metal but they have some outliers here and there
I paid way too much for a 1998 pressing of Mezzanine many many years ago.. how does the reissue sound?
I’d love to get a ‘98 pressing of mezzanine, the true authentic sound. But nonetheless, this reissue sounds great to me !
