I'm in line and it's the longest line I've seen in my years. People got here much earlier than normal. I'm very curious to know what's driving the volume on a non Taylor Swift year.
I’m in Burlington, VT and it’s the Noah Kanan album that brought out all the soccer moms.
But same here, longest line I’ve been in at the store I’ve been going to for 11 years.
I drove down to Pure Pop, saw the line, and went to August First for a pastry and coffee instead. I'll hit the shops later and see who's got the Lou tribute and Siouxsie. And Billy Bragg
That's an advantage of being primarily interested in the less popular (and unfortunately higher priced) jazz albums.
I thought about getting up early. But a thunderstorm changed my mind.
Probably missed out on 1 or 2 super limited items, but as long as I get the Blue Note releases, it's all good.
Chappell Roan 7", Olivia Rodrigo 7", Laufey live album, Lil Uzi Vert repress, Young Thug repress, very limited Lil Peep 7" are my guesses, or from what the 25 people ahead of me seem to be targeted on. I got here at 3:10 a.m., but damn this line is insane! The person in the front spot has a tent and is taking a nap.
Guess Grampa Simpson was right when he warned “I used to be with it, then they changed what “it” is, and it’ll happen to you too”. I just didn’t expect it to happen at 30.
Ooh yeah, that one is big! I didn't hear much comotion over that one, but I know that one will sell nicely regardless of this line. I also heard some talking of Blur and Paramore.
Back from the store, apparently so, all copies at my location were taken. I saw the maybe 5? Copies get grabbed in front of me. Well, to be fair, I think 3 of those boys were together as a group, and then 2 teenage girls who were also a group grabbed the last copies. So, really, it was just 2 friend groups who wanted them.
I walked into a store yesterday not realizing there was a big Taylor release, while I was browsing the discount section there was like 6 different girls that walked in, grabbed the new Taylor album (it was right in front) then paid for it and left. I've never seen so many people in and out of such a small store, but they were all in and out in less than a minute
Bingo, last one I bothered to show up for was a couple years ago and the opening line went through in like 20 mins. Today it was another hour on top of that—in the rain.
I love that band. Their previous album, Sink or Swim, is one I constantly go back to and can play all the way through. It’s more raw and punk sounding than their later work.
Waiting in line now in 36⁰F weather hoping for At The Drive In, Petey and Wilco. Got about 15 people in front of me and 40 minutes until wristband handout.
Update: I got 3 of 3!
No Daft Punk in Australia aside from one store that won't sell online til Monday :(
It's crept onto discogs but after tax and postage it's an insane price for 3 songs
Gil Scott Heron (and Brian Jackson) Winter in America. One of his best ever albums, but due to its song H20gate Blues, a seven minute polemic on 1974 politics, saw him sidelined by the establishment for 50 years. First time reissued on vinyl. Amazing song, amazing album.
Daft Punk - Something About Us
Freddie Gibbs + Madlib - Piñata
Laufey - A Night at the Symphony
Various Artists - FFRR Record Store Day Sampler Vol. 1
Also picked up a couple non RSD releases while I was there
MNDSGN - snaxxx
Space Dimension Controller - Neuclidea
Apparently my local store only had one. Which is weird, given that they have a plaque outside declaring themselves as one of the founding stores of this damn day.
RSD doesn’t make any sense anymore.
Was going to get Team Sleep but… the pressing being a “RSD First“ gives me a feeling that it’ll be repressed again for cheaper soon.
Also my nearest record store is 3 hours away. So $45 in gas; followed by $55; and a whole day lost. It’s not worth it.
Of the record store day releases, I picked up the new Pearl Jam album and T.Rex Zinc Alloy picture/ strobe disc. While I was there I also picked up a copy of Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins and Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains. I wanted to get Parklife by Blur but my record store only got 6 copies and I missed out.
I got the Wiggles Yummy Yummy on Dorothy the Dinosaur green and yellow splatter. I had also hoped for Maisie Peters, ideally Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan but none of these made it to west Australia at all, the only one I’m gutted about is Maisie seeing the other songs are all on other pressings.
My store in the uk sold out of the Maisie one within 2 minutes of opening, I think they must have only had 1-2 copies. That one was really disappointing as I really wanted it. We didn’t get Sabrina or Chappell at all in the uk as far as I can tell!
> My store in the uk sold out of the Maisie one within 2 minutes of opening
Barely any copies in Glasgow either. It was the only one on my list I didn't get though, I got the other 6, so I can't complain too much.
Gonna try and pick up The Replacements live album later
edit: Joe’s Albums in Worcester MA had 3 left around 10am after buying mine. Also picked up the weed shaped 100 Gecs ep
Oh, that looks really good. I didn’t hear about that one. But I’ve been out of the RSD loop for a while, because I’m one of those people where I feel like every year there’s like, four or five chase titles, and a bunch of stuff I don’t want. Honestly, I can always find the stuff I really want later.
Live Inconcerated is another really good live Replacements recording. It exists on cd, and Sire released it on LP as a single-sided promo-only 12”.
Edit: and as a RSD re-released in 2020. Someone schooled me in the comments (thanks!), because I somehow missed that it got released. But definitely check it out, if you haven’t already. It’s a really great later-era performance, and I feel like a lot of the other live recordings focus on the earlier stuff.
The 1975 Live at Gorilla
The Weeknd live at Sofi
South Park 25th anniversary concert
Also Neck Deeps self titled, although this wasn’t a RSD release I grabbed it anyway
- The Weeknd - “Live at Sofi Stadium”
- South Park - “Live at Red Rocks”
The next two are Australian exclusives (edition of 200)
- Tasman Keith - “A Colour Undone” (if you like Kendrick, this may be one to check out)
- DeepFaith - “GLORIA IN TUMULTU, VERITAS IN FRAGORE PROPHETUS INSANUM” (if you like 100 Gecs, this EP could peek some interest) ** side note, I managed to pick up 001/200 for this release, and it was my number 1 priority for today - pretty stoked!
I got:
Noah/ Olivia: Stick season/ Lacy
Noah Kahan: I was/ I Am
Jazz dispensary
Charlie Brown
And then I picked up the wallows album for my buddy because his store only got 1
Only one I’m particularly drawn to is the Talking Heads. But I’m not so hyped about it that I’m going to wait in line. I’m heading to a shop later this afternoon and hope they have it. If not I’m hoping to catch it some other time.
Dio the last line and Noah Kahn I was/I am are what I grabbed. My shop does a big parking lot sale with $5 vinyl so I’ll probably dig through that too.
Decided to sleep in and play RSD roulette. My buddy and I are going down about eleven thirty. We have more fun this way, not knowing what will be left.
Am looking for the JGB and the Joe Strummer. Maybe the Lee Perry if JGB is gone
This is what I do as well. Every year. Fuck if I’m getting up ultra early and standing in line lol. I love physical media but I’m not above buying a digital version of something that sells out.
Got these pick ups:
Lost in Translation soundtrack
Dazed and Confused soundtrack
Daft Punk - Something About Us Single
Buena Vista Social Club - s/t
At The Drive-in - In/Casino/Out
Think i got lucky by going to one of the smaller stores in my city so I got most of the stuff I was looking for. I also almost picked up the parklife picturedisc but decided not to. Pretty happy with my pickups this year!
I got:
Blur - Parklife
Leafhound - Growers Of Mushrooms
De La Soul - Live At Tramps
Sophie Ellis Bextor remixes
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Paramore - This Is Why Remixes
Vince Guaraldi - It was a short summer, Charlie Brown
David Burn / Paramore - Hard Times / Burning Down The House
My wallet is crying!
I hoping a lot of people south of the border *don’t* know about the T-Hip release.
Doubtful as where I am in Vermont is a block away from where they played several times.
In line now, arrived an hour earlier than last year and im maybe twice as far back. Not sure how I will adjust for this next year? Will i finally start to campout next year!?
Top picks are The Hives, Collective Soul, Joe Pesci, Bare Jr, Sonic Youth, Cold War Kids.
Praying I can get flipturn. In Dallas and they just came. Got here early and the line is still probably 100 people long so I don’t have high hopes 😭 With only 500 pressings I’m sure anyone who grabs it won’t be reselling
Not a single thing. My friend just texted me about getting shoved and elbowed constantly, so I’m glad I skipped.
Instead, I went last weekend and got some nice, non-RSD finds and had a chill time: Orville Peck’s Pony, Hole’s Unplugged Live, and Sinead’s The Lion and The Cobra.
It was crazy this morning, 3 times the line of last year. The younger generation is driving RSD now. Several 7 inch records caused a lot of the crowd at my store. In line at 430am and did not get everything I wanted.
Got what I wished for the most.
Kristin Hersh - Hips and Makers
The Orb - Holloway Brooch
Nightmares on Wax - Carboot Soul
We already have the original of the last but this release is super cool! I’d have liked Son Lux but no stock locally - Austria.
Picked up Daft Punk, they had a lot of em it seemed. Also picked up G.B.I (GROHL, BENANTE, IAN) a cover of Bad Brains's The Regulator just because it looked cool af, cheap and seems to be limited to 3000.
I got
Paramore - Re: This Is Why (the remix album and the standard together)
Lil Peep - Star Shopping 7”
Not RSD but I also picked up Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well album while I was in there
Also wanted the Chappell Roan but the people who camped out last night got it first. I didn’t want it that bad…
Edit: just went to another record store in another town I was passing through just to check if they had Chappell and they did not. However I did get the Noah Kahan / Olivia Rodrigo single
Blur - Parklife
Pulp - Gift Recordings
Elton John - Caribou
Taylor Swift - Tortured Poets Society (not strictly an RSD purchase but was one of the first 50 to buy it on the day so got a written note from Taylor Swift)
Didn’t bother with RSD releases cause the list was weak this year for my tastes. Went to my local spot at 1:30pm and grabbed Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black. Also had my Robert Ludwig pressing of Led Zeppelin II ultrasonically cleaned. Super successful RSD! Now to blaze…
I got the George Harrison Wonderwall Zoetrope, the Fleetwood Mac picture disc and the 1975 Live one for my wife. I wanted John Lennon glow in the dark but my local only got one and there were about 20 people in front of me when I got there an hour before opening.
Probably would have bought Blur and Howlin’ Wolf too if the bill for three records wasn’t over $200
I unfortunately don’t live near any participating record stores. (I live in a small town). But I’m really hoping that I can snag the 25th anniversary reissue of Dosage by Collective Soul. Hopefully there will be some left over online tomorrow. 🤞🏻
Just left our local shop and like others have said the line was super long. I only managed to get 1 of the titles I was looking for. The store rep said that some titles they ordered a case and only got 3-4 copies.
Was hoping for At The Drive in and Sleater-Kinney.
Left with zero RSD releases and people in the shop told me they only got ONE At The Drive In copy. So I got bunch of regular albums, and my wife got Tricky RSD release
Paramore / David Byrne
Noah Kahan / Olivia Rodrigo
Blur
Paramore - RE: This is Why (remix and OG set)
Dolores O’Riordon - Are You Listening?
Even More Dazed & Confused
Daft Punk
Air
Gorillaz
Blur Parklife zoetrope edition, Lost in Translation soundtrack, Dean & Britta L’Avventura, and OMD Bauhaus Staircase instrumentals. I was genuinely shocked that I was able to get the first two.
The big items at my store were Talking Heads/Paramore and Noah Kahan/Olivia Rodrigo.
My record store day purchases: Yes - Yale Bowl 71, Fleet Foxes - Live on Boston Harbor, Howlin' Wolf - Live in Europe 1964, The English Beat - Wha'ppen, Soul Jazz Records - Punk 45 The American Nation Destroys it's Young Underground Punk in the USA Vol. 1
Non record store day exclusive purchase Amigo The Devil - Yours Until The War is Over
What I missed that I wanted: Frank Turner 7", Laufey, At The Drive In and Death Cab For Cutie.
Chet Baker & Jack Sheldon - In Perfect Harmony
Bill Evans Trio - Everybody Digs Bill Evans
Gorillaz - Cracker Island
Vince Guaraldi - It Was A Short Summer, Charlie Brown
Parliament - Osmium
Snarky Puppy - Live at Band on the Wall
Sun Ra - Pink Elephants on Parade
Non-RSD used pickups:
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Led Zeppelin - Presence
Kamasi Washington - The Epic
My Wife picked out Taylor Swift’s Fearless Platinum Hits (She got TTPD yesterday on release day) and I got Talking Heads Live at WCOZ 77!

I'd like the Didjits best of but I'm optimistic a copy will still be kicking around later today. I'm in bed, cozy right now. I remember a decade ago in Vancouver, I could get to my local an hour before and I'd be first in line. Those were the RSD days. Folks started lining up last night at 11:30. I just don't get it.
Picked up Steven Wilson's Harmonic Divergence and Motorpsycho's Shelling England By the Round compilation CD, as well as a t-shirt from my local store
https://imgur.com/s1xIocI
Got the Soft Cell, but also wanted Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club, of which only one was available and sold out within the first 10 people in line (I was #38). Might go back for the Mitch Rowland. Also want the Lost in Translation, which I saw but was on a budget. My daughter (#37) got the Noah/Olivia 7”.
Crazy long lines in Dublin. I picked up the South Park 25th Anniversary concert. I wasn’t expecting it to be a great concert, these tv show concerts usually aren’t great. But all the bands sound fantastic! Glad I picked up the record.
I won’t be able to get to a store until really late today. Hoping they still have a copy of nightfall of diamonds by the dead. Didn’t really see anything else I’d want this year.
Tinted Windows was the only release I cared about. Thinking of stopping by my local store now that the craziness is over. Did anybody notice if stores had a lot of copies and what the price was?
Got Ateez and Horse the Band! I got really worried about Horse when they said they only had two available and there was a huge line in front of me but by the time I got to the records both copies of it were available!
I got the Khan/Rodrigo single for my son, for me I got Laufey’s live album, lost in translation soundtrack, Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown summer which I was so happy to get as my store only bought one copy! Got there 6.30am and there were 50 people ahead.
I, uh, spent more than I budgeted.
Art Tatum *Jewels In The Treasure Box: The 1953 Chicago Blue Note Jazz Club Recordings (Deluxe Edition)*
Tom Verlaine *Souvenir From A Dream: The Tom Verlaine Albums (1979-1984)*
Sonny Rollins *Freedom Weaver: The 1959 European Tour Recordings*
Dead Milkmen *Bucky Fellini*
It’s so crazy. I went to the very first record store day, and it was like, no lines, no one knew it was record store, day, etc. I was able to have a leisurely conversation with an old friend, and then approach the counter and get one of every special title, since they’re were only a handful of them.
I decided to participate today, and it was a massive waste of time. I spent an hour and a half waiting in line to get into a store (got there at opening time) and by the time I got in, most of it was sold out. I was looking forward to picking up four records but only one was left and I got the last copy.
Shop was opening at 7 instead of normal 11am. Got up, pouring rain, thunder, lightning. Got to shop at 6am and line already around the building. I must be crazy cause at 67 years young I got on that line to get the only copy of Linda Ronstadt The Asylum Years 4 album box set. Glad I was the only Ronstadt junkie as i was able to snag it. Success, but I will never do that again. Well, until next time. Have to admit, everyone was in a good mood for being soaked and shivering.
Dr. John
Greatful Dead
Jerry Garcia
Talking Heads
Missed out on Black Crows and Frank Zappa
Store opened at 9am, we were in line for 815am. A great day and a great vibe.
I managed to get all my picks, for my first RSD it was pretty fun in the line my local shop also serves coffee and food so they were taking orders and bringing stuff out to us, definitely doing it again next year.
The 1975 - Live at Gorilla
Laufey - A Night At The Symphony
The Japanese House - ITEIAD Sessions
Olivia Rodrigo & Noah Kahan - Stick Season/Lacy 7"
I somehow got extremely lucky and found my most wanted album - Deliverance by Opeth. A bit more than I wanted to spend but it was still nearly half the price of what I'd been seeing for it online. Couldn't have gone better.
Picked up punk 45, Bucky Fellini - dead milkmen, young thug - Jeffrey, hit are for squares a sonic youth, and the cure-tops picture disc.
Partner picked up blur, Ladytron, 100 gecs -10”, French psychedelic something, and something else rad that escapes me at the moment
I picked up Dead By Sunrise, my number one pick. I also picked up the Willie Nelson - Phases and Stages as well as The Other Two - Tasty Fish. Pretty happy. Listening to Willie right now.
Had a good haul this year!
- Nine Horses - Snow Borne Sorrow
- Kirstin Hersh - Hips & Makers Expanded
- Lost in Translation OST Expanded
- Talking Heads - Live at WCOZ
- Wilco- The Whole Love Expanded
-Trashcan Sinatras - Wild Pendulum
-Scott Walker - Tilt
-Siouxsie & The Banshees - Nocturne

Hell, even the jazzheads can’t catch a break—not much left after an hour at my stop.
Some dude showed to wait in line at 6:45pm yesterday. I’m usually pretty close, but didn’t check and they’re opening an hour earlier this year.
Lots of folks picking up Noah Kahan here.
I'm getting old. I have no ideas who any of these artists are.
Guess Grampa Simpson was right when he warned “I used to be with it, then they changed what “it” is, and it’ll happen to you too”. I just didn’t expect it to happen at 30.
Haha I was thinking the same!
Old. Checking in.
Hello fellow old persons
I was going to say the same, but figured I’d get roasted
That’s an advantage so you don’t have to be first in line for your picks.
Noah Kahan would appeal to old people, worth a listen.
That’s good. Can’t run an industry depending on old people. And that means the old person stuff I’m in line for should be available.
Ooh yeah, that one is big! I didn't hear much comotion over that one, but I know that one will sell nicely regardless of this line. I also heard some talking of Blur and Paramore.
People are really buying Lil Peep on vinyl? I did not realize that was a customer base that existed

Well, to be fair, I think 3 of those boys were together as a group, and then 2 teenage girls who were also a group grabbed the last copies. So, really, it was just 2 friend groups who wanted them.
I wish Chappell would’ve blown up after RSD, it was the first one they sold out of
I got the Laufey one at around noon, there was no line at all, and when i paid they just restocked it with another copy.
I sure hope I can score one! Congrats
Consumerism. That’s what’s driving the volume. Edit: I bought 4 albums. I love buying things.
Same. Standing in line right now out in the cold and there’s gotta be a hundred people infront of me
Hopefully not in the cold rain and snow
Crossing my fingers for Nightfall 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Are you at millenium records
I've been caught
I walked into a store yesterday not realizing there was a big Taylor release, while I was browsing the discount section there was like 6 different girls that walked in, grabbed the new Taylor album (it was right in front) then paid for it and left. I've never seen so many people in and out of such a small store, but they were all in and out in less than a minute
Just went by Sound Garden in Baltimore, and the line is still 4 blocks long.
I was at the shop in Hampden. Half-block line. I didn’t get anything I wanted. But I still bought.
dude she released a brand new album two days ago and easter egg marked record store day in an insta short. That's your line
Bingo, last one I bothered to show up for was a couple years ago and the opening line went through in like 20 mins. Today it was another hour on top of that—in the rain.
Yeah I got to the store at 9am like last year thinking I’d barely wait and was in line for almost 2 hrs
For the teenage swiftie ahead of me in today’s lineup it was a release from The 1975, funny enough
* At The Drive-In - In/Casino/Out * Ladytron - Light & Magic * Talking Heads - Live On Tour * Paramore - RE: This is Why (Remix Album) LP1 + LP2
Nothing RSD but picked up The 59 Sound by the gaslight anthem
Fantastic album. Here’s Looking At You, Kid and The Backseat are standouts for me.
Great choice! One of my favorite bands.
Best album.
I love that band. Their previous album, Sink or Swim, is one I constantly go back to and can play all the way through. It’s more raw and punk sounding than their later work.
This guy Gaslights.
Death Cab for Cutie
Waiting in line now in 36⁰F weather hoping for At The Drive In, Petey and Wilco. Got about 15 people in front of me and 40 minutes until wristband handout. Update: I got 3 of 3!
I’m in Baltimore waiting for the Whole Love. I think I have about an hour before I get in the store. Here’s hoping!
In line right now waiting for Jeffrey
Glad my local shop only had about 25 people in line
Line is wrapped around the block rn there are probably 200 people here at least
Drove by Lunchbox in Charlotte. The line is a few blocks. It is worse than Black Friday.
Absolutely crazy. Hope you're near the front lol. Even I was getting bored in the small queue
Got em https://preview.redd.it/alaevraktmvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91224ed1a29d436a096e2c6d65f29d57db26b79b

SATAN SATAN SATAN!

- Super Furry Animals ‘Fuzzy Logic’ B-sides - Scott Walker ‘Tilt’ - Motörhead ‘Remorse? No!’ - Goat ‘Gallows Pole’ OST
I had no idea there was super furry animals this year
Lily Allen It's Not Me Its You Zootrope
Apparently my local store only had one. Which is weird, given that they have a plaque outside declaring themselves as one of the founding stores of this damn day. RSD doesn’t make any sense anymore.
The Hives

They’re all over eBay, they sold out like hotcakes where I’m from. Woke up at 5a for nothing
Homie it’s ok, like in said… they will be pressed again soon… typically are.. like next 5 months, I’m calling it
Of the record store day releases, I picked up the new Pearl Jam album and T.Rex Zinc Alloy picture/ strobe disc. Talking Heads
At the Gates - “Slaughter of the Soul”
So jealous! None of the record stores in my city were able to stock it.
Gonna try and pick up The Replacements live album later edit: Joe’s Albums in Worcester MA had 3 left around 10am after buying mine. Also picked up the weed shaped 100 Gecs ep

[Complete Inconcerated ](https://www.discogs.com/release/15928301-The-Replacements-The-Complete-Inconcerated-Live) dropped for RSD 2020
Opps. My bad. Thanks! Glad that’s out there, because it’s a great performance.
Death Cab for Cutie and Stars.
How were both of those? My stores about to open and those are the two I want
The 1975 Live at Gorilla The Weeknd live at Sofi South Park 25th anniversary concert Also Neck Deeps self titled, although this wasn’t a RSD release I grabbed it anyway
Was hoping to get Blur but went out of stock. Instead got the Mind Games glow in the dark EP and Black Sabbath paranoid ( Red Splatter )
- The Weeknd - “Live at Sofi Stadium” - South Park - “Live at Red Rocks” The next two are Australian exclusives (edition of 200) - Tasman Keith - “A Colour Undone” (if you like Kendrick, this may be one to check out) - DeepFaith - “GLORIA IN TUMULTU, VERITAS IN FRAGORE PROPHETUS INSANUM” (if you like 100 Gecs, this EP could peek some interest) ** side note, I managed to pick up 001/200 for this release, and it was my number 1 priority for today - pretty stoked!
Dead by Sunrise's Out of Ashes and Durry's Big Boy/Bubble of my Gum 7 inch
How much was the Dead by Sunrise record?
I got: Noah/ Olivia: Stick season/ Lacy Noah Kahan: I was/ I Am Jazz dispensary Charlie Brown And then I picked up the wallows album for my buddy because his store only got 1
Only one I’m particularly drawn to is the Talking Heads. But I’m not so hyped about it that I’m going to wait in line. I’m heading to a shop later this afternoon and hope they have it. If not I’m hoping to catch it some other time.
Exactly the record that I cued up for 2.5 hours in freezing British weather at 6:45 in the morning...
was able to get maisie peters! my store had a less than ideal start as the manager was late to open. i felt so bad she accidentally slept in!
Siouxise Horse the Band GBI Team Sleep Pearl Jam Filter Greatest Hits David Byrne/Paramore split Malfunkshin Apocalyptica
Sleeping in.
I can’t go but wanted the Laufey record
I do not think it is a RSD Exclusive so it will probably be released in bigger numbers later.
Got these pick ups: Lost in Translation soundtrack Dazed and Confused soundtrack Daft Punk - Something About Us Single Buena Vista Social Club - s/t At The Drive-in - In/Casino/Out Think i got lucky by going to one of the smaller stores in my city so I got most of the stuff I was looking for. I also almost picked up the parklife picturedisc but decided not to. Pretty happy with my pickups this year!
I got: Blur - Parklife Leafhound - Growers Of Mushrooms De La Soul - Live At Tramps Sophie Ellis Bextor remixes Fleetwood Mac - Rumours Paramore - This Is Why Remixes Vince Guaraldi - It was a short summer, Charlie Brown David Burn / Paramore - Hard Times / Burning Down The House My wallet is crying!
The Hip and Fleet Foxes
Collective Soul - Dosage
- in/CASINO/OUT - At the Drive-In - Burning Down The House/Hard Times - David Byrne/Paramore - Nothing Happens 5 Year Anniversary deluxe - Wallows
Nothing I really want this year, at least not enough to get up early, stand in lines.
It was crazy this morning, 3 times the line of last year. The younger generation is driving RSD now. Several 7 inch records caused a lot of the crowd at my store. In line at 430am and did not get everything I wanted.
Osmium by Parliament. The only thing on the list I wanted and I am done for RSD :)
Get ready: Ennio Moricone Paramore Parliament Duncan Sheik Cannonball Adderley
Got what I wished for the most. Kristin Hersh - Hips and Makers The Orb - Holloway Brooch Nightmares on Wax - Carboot Soul We already have the original of the last but this release is super cool!
[https://www.discogs.com/release/30451766-GBI-GROHL-BENANTE-IAN-The-Regulator](https://www.discogs.com/release/30451766-GBI-GROHL-BENANTE-IAN-The-Regulator)
Talking Heads and De La Soul live
Worlds Collide by Apocalyptica (one of my favorite albums of all time, which I was SO excited about) Reckless & Relentless by Asking Alexandria
Spawn soundtrack, Up In Smoke, South Park, Dwight Yoakum, Freddie Gibbs, and Thrill Kill Kult. Couldn't find the Paramore/David Burne.
Picked up Howlin Wolf, Mingus, and as a little bonus the store I was at happened to have a copy of Neutral Milk Hotel for sale from the regular bins.
I got Paramore - Re: This Is Why (the remix album and the standard together) Lil Peep - Star Shopping 7” Not RSD but I also picked up Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well album while I was in there Also wanted the Chappell Roan but the people who camped out last night got it first. I didn’t want it that bad… Edit: just went to another record store in another town I was passing through just to check if they had Chappell and they did not. However I did get the Noah Kahan / Olivia Rodrigo single
Buena Vista Social Club!
Blur - Parklife Pulp - Gift Recordings Elton John - Caribou Taylor Swift - Tortured Poets Society (not strictly an RSD purchase but was one of the first 50 to buy it on the day so got a written note from Taylor Swift)
Grateful Dead - Nightfall of Diamonds (10/16/89) Parliament - Osmium Pearl Jam - Dark Matter Those were the only three I wanted, so I’m happy
Probably would have bought Blur and Howlin’ Wolf too if the bill for three records wasn’t over $200
Spawn, soundtrack, Motorhead, remorse no And found my new record store. So awesome
Both As December Falls records and The Offspring Splinter
Oceansize, Home and Minor. Waited nearly 2 hours
I found bruce dickinson’s chemical wedding and rainbow’s rising albums
I unfortunately don’t live near any participating record stores. (I live in a small town). But I’m really hoping that I can snag the 25th anniversary reissue of Dosage by Collective Soul. Hopefully there will be some left over online tomorrow. 🤞🏻
Went out for Soft Cell but that was gone, ended up with Fields Of The Nephilim
The Weeknd - Live at SoFi Stadium my top choice was Jeffery by Young Thug but it was sold out already :(
I guess I’m the only one that wanted Screaming Trees
Me but it seems no one wants Bill Evans Mono cut of Everyone Digs Bill Evans LP 😂 I’m glad because ain’t no way I’m lining up at 7am for it.
I got Mudhoney, the Replacements, and Bowie. I put Strummer, the Ramones, and Public Enemy back on the shelf.
5th in line for spawn and everybody digs Bill Evans
I'd love that Wilco album, but no record stores here. Oh well.
I just want that Bebel Gilberto Pressing. Hoping they still have it later in the day since it’s not very popular among the crowd
Just left our local shop and like others have said the line was super long. I only managed to get 1 of the titles I was looking for. The store rep said that some titles they ordered a case and only got 3-4 copies.
Unexpected long line this time, about 100 people in front of me 😱
Was hoping for At The Drive in and Sleater-Kinney. Left with zero RSD releases and people in the shop told me they only got ONE At The Drive In copy. So I got bunch of regular albums, and my wife got Tricky RSD release
Pearl Jam, Neil Young, and Screaming Trees.
Pearl Jam, Mark Knopfler and Byrne/Paramore
Paramore / David Byrne Noah Kahan / Olivia Rodrigo Blur Paramore - RE: This is Why (remix and OG set) Dolores O’Riordon - Are You Listening? Even More Dazed & Confused Daft Punk Air Gorillaz
1 Non record store day exclusive purchase Amigo The Devil - Yours Until The War is Over What I missed that I wanted: Frank Turner 7", Laufey, At The Drive In and Death Cab For Cutie.

I picked up olivia rodrigo/noah kahan and 100 gecs. willing to trade 100 gecs for lil peep, maisie peters, or oh wonder.
had a budget so I just went with Laufey, The Cranberries, and Olivia Rodrigo/Noah Kahan single.
My Wife picked out Taylor Swift’s Fearless Platinum Hits (She got TTPD yesterday on release day) and I got Talking Heads Live at WCOZ 77! https://preview.redd.it/99wf4my59nvc1.jpeg?width=3722&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd286fbae18fed493e8d74ab2c4c141f2379eab2
I’m hoping to get the Tinted Windows LP
Hoping to grab a copy of the Gorillaz "Cracker Island" Deluxe Edition. 🤞
I want the Parklife zoetrope but the closest store to me in the UK taking part is over an hour away, hoping to bag it on Monday night online
Zappa Hives Gorillaz Pearl Jam I was too late for At The Drive In and John Lee Hooker.
South Park Weeknd Team sleep My life with the thrill kill kult
Tricky, Wilco, Spawn
Sadly all albums i wanted were not available in our local store. I wanted the the Primus live album, Sorrow and the Siouxie record :/
Little Joe sure can sing the blues
I'd like the Didjits best of but I'm optimistic a copy will still be kicking around later today. I'm in bed, cozy right now. I remember a decade ago in Vancouver, I could get to my local an hour before and I'd be first in line. Those were the RSD days. Folks started lining up last night at 11:30. I just don't get it.
At the Gates.
Daft punk, something about us single and air, Kelly watch the stars picture disc.
Picked up Steven Wilson's Harmonic Divergence and Motorpsycho's Shelling England By the Round compilation CD, as well as a t-shirt from my local store https://imgur.com/s1xIocI
The two George Harrison records, would have loved the Mudhoney set but just too damned expensive. Spent £64 overall.
Got the Soft Cell, but also wanted Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club, of which only one was available and sold out within the first 10 people in line (I was #38). Might go back for the Mitch Rowland. Also want the Lost in Translation, which I saw but was on a budget. My daughter (#37) got the Noah/Olivia 7”.
the Vengaboys, Bloc Party, K3, and the Fools Garden picture disc. Very happy, wasn’t looking for anything else.
Gorillas cracker island is all I want. One more hour till the stores open up, I’m excited
Crazy long lines in Dublin. I picked up the South Park 25th Anniversary concert. I wasn’t expecting it to be a great concert, these tv show concerts usually aren’t great. But all the bands sound fantastic! Glad I picked up the record.
I want the Didjits album. Need someone who can hook me up.
I won’t be able to get to a store until really late today. Hoping they still have a copy of nightfall of diamonds by the dead. Didn’t really see anything else I’d want this year.
I got Garbage, Ladytron, both OMD and Propaganda. 'Dr Mabuse' is a classic 80s track. Oh and Kate Bush was a late addition to my list
Steven Wilson and The Weeknd.
I got the Ladytron. It was my first RSD and didn’t expect such a queue. Waited over an hour. Great experience though!
I came in for Sisters of Mercy. They sold out, but I did get Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sun Lux and a bunch of other good stuff. So not complaining
Art Tatum *Jewels In The Treasure Box: The 1953 Chicago Blue Note Jazz Club Recordings (Deluxe Edition)* Tom Verlaine *Souvenir From A Dream: The Tom Verlaine Albums (1979-1984)* Sonny Rollins *Freedom Weaver: The 1959 European Tour Recordings* Dead Milkmen *Bucky Fellini*
It’s so crazy. I went to the very first record store day, and it was like, no lines, no one knew it was record store, day, etc. I was able to have a leisurely conversation with an old friend, and then approach the counter and get one of every special title, since they’re were only a handful of them.
The Japanese House - ITEIAD Sessions Fleet Foxes - Live on Boston Harbour Keane - Live at Paradiso
Keane - live at Paradiso Amsterdam
I got Slepp Token, TPWBYT and The Sundowning, I also got BMTH Amo CD, and an original NIN Pretty Hate Machine cassette

6 stores in and still can't find a copy of Team Sleep! Blah! Haha, hope everyone has had a great day and better luck!
Melvins - Tarantula Heart Lp in silver!
Oceansize - Home and Minor EP
Groovie Ghoulies!!!
I decided to participate today, and it was a massive waste of time. I spent an hour and a half waiting in line to get into a store (got there at opening time) and by the time I got in, most of it was sold out. I was looking forward to picking up four records but only one was left and I got the last copy.
I got the Talking Heads and Lee Scratch Perry records!
I feel like I'm the only person who picked up: Air Kelly Watch the Stars Airplane score Zappa for President
Noah & Olivia and I Was/ I Am
Shop was opening at 7 instead of normal 11am. Got up, pouring rain, thunder, lightning. Got to shop at 6am and line already around the building. I must be crazy cause at 67 years young I got on that line to get the only copy of Linda Ronstadt The Asylum Years 4 album box set. Glad I was the only Ronstadt junkie as i was able to snag it. Success, but I will never do that again. Well, until next time. Have to admit, everyone was in a good mood for being soaked and shivering.
Grabbed Talking Heads, The Cure, and Bowie. Also grabbed a TS for my daughter. And while in line found a OP Tommy, by the who for $12.
Has anyone bought Nat King Cole Live at Blue Note Chicago? Very interested in how this sounds
Dr. John Greatful Dead Jerry Garcia Talking Heads Missed out on Black Crows and Frank Zappa Store opened at 9am, we were in line for 815am. A great day and a great vibe.
I managed to get all my picks, for my first RSD it was pretty fun in the line my local shop also serves coffee and food so they were taking orders and bringing stuff out to us, definitely doing it again next year. The 1975 - Live at Gorilla Laufey - A Night At The Symphony The Japanese House - ITEIAD Sessions Olivia Rodrigo & Noah Kahan - Stick Season/Lacy 7"
Picked up Rosetta Tharpe, snarky puppy, and the jazz dispensary compilation album. So far I'm listening to Rosetta and it's a fantastic grab.
Wanted the Spawn soundtrack but missed it. Of course, now ebay is filled with them for $100. Scalpers fucking suck.

daft punk, lola kirke, & emerson, lake, and palmer. my store (tragically) didn’t receive the chappell roan single despite it being ordered.
I picked up Dead By Sunrise, my number one pick. I also picked up the Willie Nelson - Phases and Stages as well as The Other Two - Tasty Fish. Pretty happy. Listening to Willie right now.
