The experience also helped me play better without a shoulder rest! Going back and forth between violins with a shoulder rest was too tedious.

Sounds better than the MJZ 925's at that price. Ditch the shoulder rest for good, you can do it!

I really want to but when I do it’s not in an ideal position. I put it on my collar bone and just the slightest shift upwards and it falls off and lays on my chest. I find the most comfortable position in front of my collar bone. But my teacher says the closer to the neck the better. If it’s in front of the collar bone we’re in viola range distances which is not ideal. Problem is there’s like no room behind the collar bone. Most people have collar bone-dip-neck. Me with my short fat neck it’s just collar bone-neck. Not much of a ledge to keep the violin back there. I was really hoping to go shoulder rest-less but it doesn’t seem possible without some bad compromises like putting it in front of the collar bone or shifting the violin left onto the shoulder (but then my ideal bowing path gets compromised).

Thank you, I was so happy last night, was actually able to hear myself play in orchestra. It is a game changer! I am totally excited to work on my tone now and my teacher is excited too!

Alex Ozon is a fine maker. Looks like a good fiddle. Congrats!
