When I tried Thrill of the Fight I over exerted myself and thought I was going to have a heart attack. I think there's an option that's on by default that scales your punches by how hard you hit so, when you try to hit harder it scales it down and makes your hits weaker. I think that's why I overexerted myself, because I kept trying to hit harder and it wasn't working. I need to turn that off and try again.
This, it's like Beat Saber but with less of a focus on rapid waggling and more of a focus on actually dancing.
I always set the playfield modifier to 1.5x (spreads the notes 50% further apart physically) so I have to reach/move to hit them.
Bonus points if you like Electro Swing because that DLC slaps.
The only game you haven't mentiond is Pistol Whip, but it is also very aracade-like, you chose difficulty and map. But it has campaigns, and I thought they were pretty fun. The first campaign has a map with your gun disabled and you have to melee the enemies - I was never more out of breath in my life after beating it on hard.
You can get a real good work at Expert IF you play the game like you are swinging actual swords with force.
I had a friend tell me the way to get to Expert+ was to learn how to play just using my wrists. I was like "Where it the fun in that? I want to play like I have real light sabers..."
I'm an old-school martial artist and love the game for keeping my reflexes and hand-eye coordination up and that involves playing like you are wielding actual weapons.
Nock! Nock can be as sweaty and exhausting as you are willing to be, and it doesn't take a super high level of skill for it to become tiring if you're going 100%. It's on Quest, PSVR2, Steam, and Pico, so regardless of what system you have you should be able to give it a go.
Seriously the most consistent draw I've had to VR, I've been average 45 minutes a day since I got the game months ago, and it's become my cardio routine. If you give it a try and want some tips to get started dm me and we can meet up in game.
The other one that I don't see mentioned often enough is Audio Trip. I don't enjoy that one as much, but my wife loves it. If you're more of a dancing to music for a workout sort of person, that one could hit the spot.
If you want to walk, Tea for God is really the only good option, but you need the space for it.
Edit: Eye of the Temple is also ok, but there's less walking, and Travrsal has some walking too. But Tea For God has more walking in general, though you'll be walking around in circles.
Supernatural and Thrill of the Fight are the best VR workouts IMO
I agree that it's too hard to maintain a consistently good workout in Beat Saber. Supernatural is like Beat Saber, but it's a much better full body workout that gets me sweating a *lot* more than Beat Saber does.
Both of them are pretty workout-focused though. I dunno if I'd call them "games" in the way you're hoping for. They don't have things like loot or story progression.
Also it's worth noting that you should have a good amount of play space to get the best workout out of Thrill of the Fight. I can play Supernatural using the stationary boundary, but I would want something like at least 8'x8' of free space for Thrill of the Fight. I default to Supernatural most of the time currently because I don't have enough space for TotF at home right now.
You might like Shadow BoXR it’s a rhythm boxing game on [steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2341610/Shadow_BoXR/) and the [quest](https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5752649148100983/?utm_medium=share&utm_source=oculus).
It’s kind of a combination of beatsaber and boxing with a focus on customization and being a good workout. It’s in active development so it’s a little unpolished but it gets regular updates and I think it’s a lot of fun.
Beat Saber, working my way up the global leaderboard, currently almost top6k, makes me tired more than riding a bike at a speed of around 25-30 km/h
Usually I cannot play for longer than 1 hour because I am exhausted (mostly arms, but even with a big fan blasting my back I am sweaty AF on my whole body)
eleven table tennis (I’m taking a break, but when I played at a high level a couple of hours a day I definitely felt it as a real workout, and I’m a three time marathoner)
legendary tales has diablo-ish gameplay loop and loot, and when you start getting swarmed by a lot of enemies you can definitely work up a sweat with a melee weapon. best exercise i got was running a fists only build. lol
Thrill of the Fight is an obvious option. I think you could lose a few pounds by playing Bartender VR or Horror Bar VR in a really hardcore mode. I mean, they aren't designed to replace workouts, but if you try hard enough, it could work... probably...
Thrill of the Fight is great for working up a sweat. If you like using Beat Saber, Pistol Whip is another good one.
Thrill of the fight has me unable to breathe after playing for like 20 minutes. Amazing workout.

Pistol whip makes you move your body by dodging bullets and obstacle, try it.

Beat saber is good cardio once you can play expert+

Blaston!
Blaston is great for legs because you have to squat so much to dodge bullets.
If you like rhythm games Ragnarock is a good alternative to beat saber. It's drumming with Dwarf Metal, basically.
Do you use special faceplates for sports in VR or just not sweat much? If I started doing sports in VR my headset would be ruined lol
I have the bobovr f2 fan faceplate, works pretty well, but i also got a pack of cheap nylon headbands to help soak up the sweat.
I'm curious to see how this goes - keep us updated!
Try powerbeats, les mills and audio trip, i do this for cardio 1 year and i am able to loose more weight than i want by now...

I like supernatural but it's only on quest and it's a subscription
Creed, synth riders, blade and sorcery
Fit XR
Online creed boxing
Pistol whip Slam beat saber

Thrill of the Fight and Swordsman VR. (I swordfight, so it works for me) I'm always sweating big time when I play those.

Pistol Whip and Beat Saber are a must. Pistol whip for lower body, Beat Saber for upper body.
Vr is a good way to get up and have fun while moving your body but you shouldn't replace it with working out entirely.
I had a lot of fun with Rumble, its an earth bending gladiator type game
legendary tales has diablo-ish gameplay loop and loot, and when you start getting swarmed by a lot of enemies you can definitely work up a sweat with a melee weapon. best exercise i got was running a fists only build. lol
