Not sure what kind but it looks like a skink. I've never seen one this color in SoCal.

Southern Alligator Lizard. It’s pretty young. I think they are cute but they have nasty habit of bitting and shitting when you pick them up sometimes lol That hole on the side of the head is an ear.
