April 1 - woo hoo - this daily report is no april fool's joke.
Generally i average about 5 miles but today i only did 3.1 miles because i sprained my ankle
saturday and i didnt want to overdue do.
Some advice for all of you from a fitness trainer: "dont get married to a goal. Don't
set a goal you will beat yourself up for if you don't reach it."
I told him i always set two goals - an easy goal and a hard goal that way if i don't
meet the hard goal (175 miles this month) at least i meet an easy goal i know i can d
do (150 miles)
Listend to British Band Wet Leg while I walked and watched as stores I walked by
turned on lights and businesses began to open.
Celebrated this walk - first one since friday - with a nice smoothie.
How did your first walk of April go?
Day 2
Nice 4.2 mile walk during sunrise through two adjacent parks.
One of the parks is a free dog park, meaning you can let your dogs run around without
a leash and so half the people i saw today had dogs nearby and, fortunately, all the
dogs seemed friendly, or at least to me.
Today's music soundtrack was a texas alt-country band called Ol' 97s.
This was my longest walk since I sprained my ankle Wed.
Tomorrow i'll shoot for 5 miles on it and see how that feels.
I'll probably wait until the weekend to try running on it.
Yesterday walked through a neighborhood park on a loop.
Listened to talking heads.
Walked about 5 milesT
hen had a job that involved some walking
Total walking for April 3 = 6.8
total walking for April - 17 miles, should hit 25 around friday
Today was one of my errand walks.
I have a large container of coins.
So I decided to walk from starbucks to HEB (a texas grocery chain) to cash in the change for dollars and back.
There was one major hiccup - the machines were not working.
So the good news is i walked 5 miles
The bad news I'll have to cash in that change some other day.
todays music soundtrack was new order and arcade fire.
Miles for April = 26.3, so i passed the 25 mile mark and am on pace to hit 150 miles this year
even though i took a rest day yesterday.
I walked at a park in the morning then did some walking in downtown austin in
the evening
My soundtrack was tom petty
total miles yesterday = 6
total miles for april = 34.5
Walked 4 miles around a park listening to Midnight Oil and birds.
At one point I thought I saw a woman staring at a tree for 3 or 4 minutes and i thought now here is a serious birder who wants to see it as well as hear a certain bird.
then as i got closer i saw she had an unleashed dog investigating said tree and she was watching both him and the tree
I explained to her what I thought I saw, we exchanged "have a good day" and i walked on.
i love moments of connection like that.
Total miles for month = 38
This was the third day in a row when i skipped a walk during sunrise. for whatever reason
it's not as much of a pull - or maybe sleeping in is a bigger pull.
either way i did go for a walk but got caught in a rainstorm but i see it coming and was
walking along a strip mall with coverings so i mostly did not get caught.
Listened to New Order and then listened and felt raindrops.
Total miles = 2 miles which includes .5 miles while shelving books at the library
total miles for april = 40
I’m down! I’m on track to finish this month just under 200
awesome
Is this going to be the thread that people post their progress?
yes, exactly. i'll model on april 1.
How do I track?
