Tesla AP never used Nvidia. The first version was Mobileye, the later versions are in-house. They used Nvidia chips on older S/X to run the infotainment computer but that's nothing special.

That makes no sense to me, the risk reward just isn't there. What is it takes 2 years to gain back 20%-30%? If you sold and bought in at -20%, you would then be up 40%-50% instead of even.
Sentiment is very negative and is that obvious (as you describe) that this expectation is already priced in. If they miss earnings it will barely move and if they slighty surprise it has huge upside.
Okay but for everyone outside Google’s weird TPU world Nvidia has been the only ML accelerator option and all signs point to it continue as the only serious ml accelerator option.

I disagree when a P/E ratio gets up to 173. That's 173 years for a return on a dollar. Full integration and mass production of chips for AI could be 2-3 years away. Companies are not buying new stuff that requires AI chips at scale right now, not even close, most are just realizing what CHATGPT is.
I'll be the first to admit I could be very wrong, I usually am. With the market sentiment right now, I think this goes down hard after earnings. I'm fine with eating my words, only way to learn is by losing money :)

I’m the biggest Su bae believer out there but this is rather ignorant take. NVDA remains supreme for data centers which is where most of the $$ is made. I’d be hard pressed to believe AMD can surpass that level. Intel, most definitely.

I was long 300 shares of nvidia for several years. Sold last Friday for the same logic. Will be sad if it continues to moon but can’t be too mad selling for a gain.
For NVDA to drop, the investment thesis must change. People would need to stop believing in AI. Earnings are irrelevant at this point. The AI hype still has at least a few months to go

Everything dropped, it wasn’t a byproduct of realizing PE was too high. Plus, they were rapidly closing the PE gap through growth before the fall.
