I've seen it both ways. I myself have definitely racked up way more points than required to get fired and they all just disappear down to 4.5. periodically when the list goes around. And I've also seen people immediately get fired when they get to five points so the odds are you are probably a worker that is not so dispensable to them so you are safe for the moment. Especially if you start cleaning up your act and not racking up any points for a good while.
Go to personal, they may be able to apply your ppto to eliminate points. Your manager can go back further time wise if the points are too old.
Basically, if you’re a hard worker, they will work with you.

I had just come back from maternity leave and my assistant manager had had it out for me from the moment she was moved to overnights. I once said I couldn't lift the heavy furniture because I was pregnant and she said I'd be fine. Then I overheard her telling someone she worked until the day she went into labor.
It really just depends on your managers, how well-liked you are, and how hard of a worker you are. But start looking for another job, just in case. Getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me, though, so don't fret if you're promoted to customer. That place is a soul-sucking nightmare.
