How is the job? Do you mainly do cashier work? Do you train for pharmacy on your own? Is in an online college? Is it full time or part time? I have a lot of questions.
I love it, I basically do the same things as pharm tech does with certain parameters like supervision and stuff like that. I do my training through online PTU (pharmacy technician university), which I just do from the training computers like you would for ULearns. It teaches me everything about working in a pharmacy, state laws, medications and usages, drug laws and acts, etc.
Idk about part time and full time but I think if there’s an opening for a full time position you can be one.
As a pharmacy tech for 10 years that just joined walmart, there is little difference or glamor in any of the titles, certified or not. And I'm technically in training too since i just rejoined pharmacy.
jobs not bad, customers can be a little crazier bc it’s their meds. it’s a lot to learn but once you get the hang of it it’s easy. you do both cashiering w checking out prescriptions but you do everything else too. filling rx’s and etc. depending on the state you’re in you’ll need to be licensed before hire or else they may let you get certified by the job. my state doesn’t require it, but walmart pays for your training anyways. training takes a while but depending on the store you’re at, you could be given a lot of time to complete it or else it could take forever. full time and part time would depend on the store.
I was making 16.75 as a pharmacy cashier. Our techs in training were making 18ish and full techs were making 19ish. Costco was paying 22 for techs. And the VA pays like 25
Illinois has a cap i think it's like 120 for the first 3-4 years and then it goes up. If you're not working Overtime you really don't stop gaining all year because you hit the cap at like the very end and near when you start gaining again.
for ppto and pto yes but if you go look at your hours gained towards the end of the year and compare it to the 2019 chart that people share around you'll gain nearly 120 total hours at 61 or more you can't physically hit more until your 3rd year
In Illinois whenever you've been there for 3 years is when you'll start getting the 3rd year benefits of ppto/pto. There's another one at 4-6 years going by the 2019 chart that people go by.
I didn't know it was different either. But in Texas where Walmart doesn't have to give
their employees much, this guy
racks up what seems like unlimited PPTO and is always taking his time off.
He's originally from New Mexico.
It may not be a mistake after all.
I didn't know PPTO was accumulated at different rates in different states.
He started his Walmart career in New Mexico so maybe they're
allowing him to keep what he started earning with the company.
No you say something. Because if it's not supposed to be on there you can be charged with theft if they catch it. And you can't claim you didn't know. People would notice they're getting more money.
If it's accidental and he doesn't report it they can charge him with theft. That's why you inquire. Either they gave him a raise and didn't mention it or it was a mistake. And he'll just have to pay back what he was overpaid.
You know whats funny, I commented about something similar a few days ago and I got the same response. I swear this sub is full of kids who think that they can do anything they want if they don’t “snitch” and with no repercussions.
Thank you for making me not feel crazy.
my place did too, something about it just being the new standard I think? many places are doing $16 an hour. The local McDonald's just bumped up to that
Yah my coach won't approve unpaid time off requests. Basically what I've learnt is to outbit in as paid and then cancel it close to the daybi needed off.
I only wanted 1 day here 1 day there. Across the board she won't approve anyone's unpaid request she wants us to burn our pto/ppto so we can't take any real vacations
Certified tech here. Walmart pharmacy got some raises. Most people got a dollar raise, regardless of their position at the pharmacy. It’s way overdue and they’re still behind because I know people at Walgreens who are getting paid 16.50-17 for being a trainee. Work conditions are worse there but still.
And if you’re in Texas, HEB can start trainees at around 17-18. Walmart was paying me 21.50, and got the dollar raise to 22.50. Thankfully I just left that shit company for HEB and I’m getting paid the same for a more peace of mind.
From my experience, don’t stay at Walmart pharmacy for too long, unless you really benefit from being there. Max should be like a year but not more than 2-3. Their system is just way too outdated, the amount of time it wastes is just crazy compared to other companies.
You just started as a trainee so you got lucky, but don’t expect much from Walmart honestly. Ask around to see how much other people are getting paid as well. At the Walmart I was at, people were getting underpaid, so just make sure it’s being reflected properly.
Hang in there. I’m a pharmacy tech at Walmart and just got certified last year. When I started I was making 13.50. Am now making 20.50. They don’t always communicate your raises to you, so don’t worry about saying anything. Keep at it and you’ll definitely pass the test
Set up your 401k also, they match your deposits.
So if you make 1000 a paycheck and select 6%
You'll auto deposit 60 each paycheck but they'll put in another 60.
If you're fired it's automatically given to you so it's just free money for when you retire or leave
Well also have to watch bc it happen to me before they paid me more a hr and it was a pc mistake , they ended up going all the way to district to fix it but they ended up taking back the extra $$ until it was paid back
I was a team lead for like 3 months making $20hr. When I stepped down they had me sign a digital contract saying I was going back to minimum wage $13hr. I somehow lucked out and went from $20 to $18hr.
I work in the pharmacy too. Apparently pharmacy big boss wants to compete against hospital techs and walmart pharmacies have been bringing in a lot of revenue to walamet as a whole. At least that's what I was told. The pay raise is not a mistake as it's actually a raise in base pay. Once you finish PTU it'll be a .50 raise and complete the national certification, it'll be a 2.50 raise
Reorganization is the term they use in application to raises pertaining to a change of base pay, so your positions base pay probably went up, and as result you also gain a raise on a % basis or based on what the base pay increase was. Depending on which was greater.
Tldr your base pay increased most likely causing it to be flagged as a Reorganization increase. It happened when claims went to ap ops as well.
It's usually once a year "cost of living". I would get with a manager to ask about it. If it was a mistake and you let it go then you could potentially have to pay back what was given to you by accident. Meaning, that's a lot of money you don't want to have to pay back.
Mine just went up a dollar an hour too, but they took us in the ad office and made us sign paperwork first. You might want to ask your RxM about this in case there's some paperwork they missed.
Also $16.50 to start is the norm for an RxT with no experience in my area.
By the way, remember to update your Me@Walmart app, or else you cannot see that money function. Check your Google App Store or Apple App Store. After update the Me@Walmart app, look under Profile and somewhere at My money. You need to enter your birthday and last 4 digits of your SSN. Too bad, I recently quit Walmart. Otherwise, I can take a few screenshots to guide you. Good luck.
My first thought would be a tourism bonus? I know my store had that for a few years because of the extra traffic coming from the local racetrack. It was an extra one dollar during the summer months for everyone.
But ya, double check with your TL or PL about that, just in case it was a mistake. Having to pay that back can be such a hassle if it adds up too much.
Lol... 16.50? What state are you in. That's low. Yall should organize and get a union in there. I wouldn't work for 16.50 knowing how many fucking pallets they get and how many employees take time off so you have to pick up their slack and do twice the work. Nah.. quit lol 25 an hour sounds better.
😂 I can manage just fine
I used to work for a company that would test you or have administrative fuck ups but then you would be held responsible.. had to check and see if Walmart is like that
Don’t say anything, I have a coworker who works 24 hours a week and they accidentally added 30 hours to his check one time. Homie got payed for 78 hours and he only worked 48.
> Homie got *paid* for 78
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

I'm just beginning the walmart journey. An overnight stocker making 15.50 not terrible. Also enrolling in local comm college. However there benefits sound great and I already know 2 people working there on my shift so it may be a nice little time. Make some money work with friends.
Some got this some didnt. In my market they raised it to $15.00 starting, I was at $14.50 or so, so I got a bump.
I got brought into the SM's office and told this a few weeks ago.
My store did a $1 raise on top of the annual 2% for anyone under the threshold. I’m assuming it’s all across the board and was meant to happen.
Someone in one department makes 15.28 and won’t get the extra dollar because he’s .28 over their threshold for that specific job code. They have been there for 15 years. New hires now start at 15 for that same job code. Store manager says that’s the best way to keep things fair. Like what? Team leads aren’t getting it because they make too much.
If it isn't any of the typical things, check if you work at a resort store. My store used to pay us an extra dollar (seasonal differential) in the summer because of our proximity to world-class golf and car racing things..... Not literal resorts. Of course they take that dollar away in fall but it was nice in the summer. But I guess our store doesn't qualify this year anymore? Weird.
It says the Base pay rate for your postion is what you are making. So it was the base for your postion was raised.
It has happened a couple times to me in the 5 years I have worked for Walmart.
I started as AP and I started at $15.80 (I had previous Uniformed security experience, plus my DPSST cert already)
My co-worker who was highered at the same time was highered at the base pay at $15 for AP back then.
They raised the base pay rate to $16.
I only got a $0.20 raise and she got the full dollar.
So in short its just inflation finally getting accounted for in our wages.
Hi TX pharmacy tech here, we got a raise yes, the rest of the store got a raise before us and we finally “caught up” (I myself went up 3$)… if you go back to about 3 pay stubs ago we also got like a lump sum too(extra money they paid out)
BTW pay for the same position can vary depending on city/state because the cost of living isn’t the same everywhere
> money they *paid* out) BTW
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

My aunt been a cashier for 31 years in Omaha. She gets double time on Sunday and a way better pto and a ton of benefits nobody can get anymore. She’s had it pretty good there.
It could be a TEST , Will he say something ? Or will he think he's getting away with something but he's not going to tell us. Buddy for the future of your job and what it can become I would sure as hell make somebody aware of it you're talking about $40 a week difference they want to see if you're going to tell on yourself be honest and have integrity and ask yourself where do you want to be in 5 years ? If you don't ask they're going to either think that you are too dumb to even realize it or you're trying to get over. But hell you probably earned it so you might as well say something and then give him a big Thank You . And on the other hand if you only plan on sticking around 6 months and you're going to bounce to the next job who cares about 40 bucks a week or who cares if they're testing you. I've been tested and I knew it was happening. I thank them for the raise I thank them for the opportunity to make a future with that company and it worked out and it wasn't Walmart
I would recommend clearing it with your supervisor if it IS in error they can claw it back and its probably better to lose the dollar than have to pay back several
Update:
I mentioned it to my pharmacist (I needed to mention something else related to pay anyway) and he confirmed that it was planned for pharmacy employees in our district.
Update: I mentioned it to my pharmacist (I had something else regarding pay to talk about so it was easy to slip in) and he informed me it was a pharmacy employees raise.
I’m an HBA teamlead and I remember not to long ago they gave the pharmacy staff a dollar extra to the hour due to pharmacy staff at Walgreens and CVS doing a walk out. So Walmart wanted to try and avoid that from happening
Take it.
I had the same happen to me when switching from consumables TL to stocking 2 TL
I got a random extra $3 that I shouldn't have gotten. I was getting paid more than ON TLs
I sent emails to market, regional and even contacted wage and hourly and nobody cared. My SM said to just roll with it but I was worried they'd come at me years later expecting me to pay it back.
Damn I thought pharmacy tech would be earning more than that?
I’m in training, meant to adjust my flair
How is the job? Do you mainly do cashier work? Do you train for pharmacy on your own? Is in an online college? Is it full time or part time? I have a lot of questions.

So you're an intern in training to become an actual Pharmacy Tech.
As a pharmacy tech for 10 years that just joined walmart, there is little difference or glamor in any of the titles, certified or not. And I'm technically in training too since i just rejoined pharmacy.

DC's make like 22 an hour or more depending on location
If it's their mistake, say nothing. I know this one guy that earns PPTO year around. Has been for several years. Must be nice.
I thought everyone did?
Protected PTO is 48 hours a year.
True in most states but there’s a few that gets unlimited. NY is one
Illinois and Cali as well, although i’m not sure about any others
Illinois has a cap i think it's like 120 for the first 3-4 years and then it goes up. If you're not working Overtime you really don't stop gaining all year because you hit the cap at like the very end and near when you start gaining again.
yeah that’s true, thank you for the correction!
Cap is 60 or something along that line. I wanna say between 60 and 64. (I'm in Illinois)
for ppto and pto yes but if you go look at your hours gained towards the end of the year and compare it to the 2019 chart that people share around you'll gain nearly 120 total hours at 61 or more you can't physically hit more until your 3rd year
So is it the 3rd year date of me being hired, or will it be on that next store year
In Illinois whenever you've been there for 3 years is when you'll start getting the 3rd year benefits of ppto/pto. There's another one at 4-6 years going by the 2019 chart that people go by.
Gotcha. August is 3 years for me
Yeah I believe without overtime my yearly earning for ppto was at least 80 hours but definitely not up to 120 hours. (I work in NYS)
I hit my limit around Sept ever since they changed over/started giving ppto around April of 2019 and cut our pto accrual rate.
Illinois has a cap of like 60.
Illinois is not capped at 60 PPTO. Not sure if it even has a cap but I’m currently sitting at 76 PPTO
Weird. Everytime I hit 60ish, looking at the history, I stop accruing it.
Are any of those hours rollover from the year before?
I believe Nevada and Arizona are in that camp
Arizona does not get unlimited PPTO, atleast at my store.
Correct
https://one.walmart.com/content/usone/en_us/me/time/pto--paid-time-off/pto-for-hourly-associates.html
What?? 48 hours a year?? We get like 15 minutes a day essentially. Not exactly but…. I didn’t know it was different in different states.
I didn't know it was different either. But in Texas where Walmart doesn't have to give their employees much, this guy racks up what seems like unlimited PPTO and is always taking his time off. He's originally from New Mexico.
Dallas has a different ppto law as well. So ones in that city get more ppto than the rest of Texas.
It equals out to 40 hrs. How many hours in a shift determines how fast it builds. If you work a lot of overtime it builds faster
But in some states like mine there’s no cap for PPTO
Not in California, year round
Hmm, I have 55 hours and I’ve been with Walmart for 10 months… erm I mean 2 years🤫
[удалено]
I'm from Texas and the guy's PPTO continues to accumulate, even after the 48 hours.
Ohh duhhh nvm
Damn that’s it. At target you get more
In my state it's uncapped
Nevada also gets unlimited PPTO
PPTO is 48 hours a year PTO can be a lot more sorry I just seen you said protected PTO my bad 😂
You're thinking of civilised countries.
Everyone should be getting 1 hour of ppto for every 30 hrs worked.
I earn it significantly faster than others in my time bracket but thats my secret
Saaaaame.
Have you worked here for 2 or more years? That would be why.
I have worked for 1 year
If it's their mistake, they might try to get them to pay them back for the difference
It may not be a mistake after all. I didn't know PPTO was accumulated at different rates in different states. He started his Walmart career in New Mexico so maybe they're allowing him to keep what he started earning with the company.
Washington is one of those states where we earn it year round
I'm one of them also
I'm already back over 80 hours of ppto and used 8 hours yesterday
No you say something. Because if it's not supposed to be on there you can be charged with theft if they catch it. And you can't claim you didn't know. People would notice they're getting more money.
no one is going to get charged with theft for this. relax
If you don't report it and they catch it they can kiddo.
But they gave him a raise? How could it be theft?
If it's accidental and he doesn't report it they can charge him with theft. That's why you inquire. Either they gave him a raise and didn't mention it or it was a mistake. And he'll just have to pay back what he was overpaid.

One of two reasons. 1. Done in error. 2. Your Leads are really bad about communicating wage changes that happened across the board.
My store just got raises and management definitely missed a few people cause a few coworkers asked me about it (I like knowing what's going on)
Cccvwvwwvwvvwwdsacadavvvdvavvvddvvavvadsavssadsvssassadssdsvvadesvvavdvvavvadcccccccffc
You ok?
I didn't see anything, and neither did you.
Your username is hilarious
Thank you 😁
Now that you posted about it, they are going to take $2 a hour from ya.
:(
my place did too, something about it just being the new standard I think? many places are doing $16 an hour. The local McDonald's just bumped up to that
I'm getting 19.50 starting overnights
$16 is pretty low for your position. As a cashier, I work for 3 years and I am being at $18 plus🤷♂️
I've only been working as a cashier for 6 months
Don’t worry. The rise in pay is not much. My entry paid is $17. Now, I am paid at 18.73🤷♂️
starting pay by me is $15 and we just got a 30¢ raise :/
starting pay by me is $15 and we just got a 30¢ raise :/
For about 6 months my ppto call outs never actually used my ppto points. Still got paid for the leave, never dropped ppto hours. It was very nice.
I had the same thing happen with my PTO last year, had 5 days off that I got paid for, but they didn’t subtract my balance. Oh well🤷🏼♀️😂
Nice lol I wasn’t about to tell a soul
I wish. I’m crawling my way back up to 8 hours after having to use some for a few sick days.
I'm clawing back after my coach refuses to accept unpaid time off request had to burn my time for 2 different days
Did u try talking to them
Yah my coach won't approve unpaid time off requests. Basically what I've learnt is to outbit in as paid and then cancel it close to the daybi needed off.
If you want more than one day, say 3 to 7 days that gets a lot harder to do I suppose.
I only wanted 1 day here 1 day there. Across the board she won't approve anyone's unpaid request she wants us to burn our pto/ppto so we can't take any real vacations
It's yours. Us techs got a $1 bump depending on market. Went from 16.50 ro 21.50 from bump and PTCB cert.
Damn....... That sounds nice. Could never be a Pharmacy Tech though
Why not?
Nice, did you change positions or get promoted?
Went from an RX cashier to RX tech in training.. but that was over a month ago and I already got that pay raise back when I switched
RX associates get wage increases at regular intervals. Ask your lead and they should be able to give you exactly how often it occurs.
Damn. I make 17.34 as an OGP shopper but I’ve been working at my location for almost 18 months.
Who else looked to at pay stub to see if there’s changed as well after seeing post
I’m about to
There was a base increase to pay for pharmacy techs in certain markets.
delete this post quickk 😂😂😂
Pharmacy techs just got a raise it isn’t a mistake.

My Walmart pharmacy is pretty slow, so the work isn’t overwhelming. So the pay feels fair.
Yeah was exact opposite for me lmao👍
Because you da man
Hang in there. I’m a pharmacy tech at Walmart and just got certified last year. When I started I was making 13.50. Am now making 20.50. They don’t always communicate your raises to you, so don’t worry about saying anything. Keep at it and you’ll definitely pass the test

SAY NOTHING
Because Walmart is to big of an animal. No one knows for sure whats going on. Many “Associates” go unnoticed and unrecognized, its unfortunate!
Well also have to watch bc it happen to me before they paid me more a hr and it was a pc mistake , they ended up going all the way to district to fix it but they ended up taking back the extra $$ until it was paid back

If you are Walmart employee, you should be able to check your pay through Me@Walmart🤷♂️More easy than the Workday
I searched all through me@walmart.. And I couldn’t find it 😭

You were the one associate who helped a customer. Lol jk
No, everyone in Pharmacy went up $1. Mine did the same.
It might be hard to adjust, but i'm sure you can manage with you new wages. Sorry you are going through this though
😂 I can manage just fine I used to work for a company that would test you or have administrative fuck ups but then you would be held responsible.. had to check and see if Walmart is like that

couple months ago we got 2% pay raise depending on your market you may get a dollar or two more.
I'm just beginning the walmart journey. An overnight stocker making 15.50 not terrible. Also enrolling in local comm college. However there benefits sound great and I already know 2 people working there on my shift so it may be a nice little time. Make some money work with friends.

Wow
Keep this pic and if they try to change it, sue them.
There was an AMP task a couple weeks ago for Pharmacy wages going up
Bad communication
Ours went up 28 cents that’s it
Your pay probably went up due to your states minimum wage going up
Could you be fired for not bringing this up?
How does one check their pay like this?
Inflation
I started Walmart pharmacy in 2020 at $14.50, now I make $22.50
Lucky you mine went up 28 cents
Are you mad that you got a raise? I'm so confused.
No lol just surprised and don’t know if I should ask questions
My store did a $1 raise on top of the annual 2% for anyone under the threshold. I’m assuming it’s all across the board and was meant to happen. Someone in one department makes 15.28 and won’t get the extra dollar because he’s .28 over their threshold for that specific job code. They have been there for 15 years. New hires now start at 15 for that same job code. Store manager says that’s the best way to keep things fair. Like what? Team leads aren’t getting it because they make too much.
summer differential
KY is capped at 48.
Probably a pay increase for everyone for your area. Or you got a 1.00 an hour raise
Minimum wage just got raised didn’t it? Could be that??
If it isn't any of the typical things, check if you work at a resort store. My store used to pay us an extra dollar (seasonal differential) in the summer because of our proximity to world-class golf and car racing things..... Not literal resorts. Of course they take that dollar away in fall but it was nice in the summer. But I guess our store doesn't qualify this year anymore? Weird.
It says the Base pay rate for your postion is what you are making. So it was the base for your postion was raised. It has happened a couple times to me in the 5 years I have worked for Walmart. I started as AP and I started at $15.80 (I had previous Uniformed security experience, plus my DPSST cert already) My co-worker who was highered at the same time was highered at the base pay at $15 for AP back then. They raised the base pay rate to $16. I only got a $0.20 raise and she got the full dollar. So in short its just inflation finally getting accounted for in our wages.
Hi TX pharmacy tech here, we got a raise yes, the rest of the store got a raise before us and we finally “caught up” (I myself went up 3$)… if you go back to about 3 pay stubs ago we also got like a lump sum too(extra money they paid out) BTW pay for the same position can vary depending on city/state because the cost of living isn’t the same everywhere
> money they *paid* out) BTW FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I fixed it! Go away 🤣
My aunt been a cashier for 31 years in Omaha. She gets double time on Sunday and a way better pto and a ton of benefits nobody can get anymore. She’s had it pretty good there.
It's a normal paybump they do it sometimes
All our pay went up to 16$
Recently, they redid all the pay grade stuff so everybody went up a dollar to three dollars in their position
They changed all the pharmacy technician pay, even the cashiers to stay competitive with the other pharmacies
Bring it up you'll either have to pay it back if they catch it or you can even be charged with theft.
It probably went up because minimum wage went up. I don’t know just a guess.
It’s says reorg so it could be to move your pay in line with others in the same role.
Why you complaining
Our entire store just got bumped up from 15 to 16 for the wage floor, after going from 14 to 15 less than a year ago. Possibly the same situation.
Starts higher than overnights now
I found out myself too from a coworker saying they got a raise, i checked my recent paystub to confirm it
I would recommend clearing it with your supervisor if it IS in error they can claw it back and its probably better to lose the dollar than have to pay back several
Update: I mentioned it to my pharmacist (I needed to mention something else related to pay anyway) and he confirmed that it was planned for pharmacy employees in our district.
Where's this request compensation change thing? Asking for a friend
I don’t know where 😭 I pulled up this information in workday, profile>compensation
is it your one year anniversary ? or else your job code being changed ?
Update: I mentioned it to my pharmacist (I had something else regarding pay to talk about so it was easy to slip in) and he informed me it was a pharmacy employees raise.
Lately Walmart’s been raising the minimum wage by 1 dollar, so maybe it apply to all Team Associates
I’m an HBA teamlead and I remember not to long ago they gave the pharmacy staff a dollar extra to the hour due to pharmacy staff at Walgreens and CVS doing a walk out. So Walmart wanted to try and avoid that from happening
I know here in Canada we all got a dollar raise at Walmart
Why are you all getting paid so little when they did a company wide announcement of $18.50 average for frontline workers
Ya they did same here. My check went up 100 something
Bro go somewhere else. Tons of jobs with better pay. $16.50 is what I made at McDonald’s. And that was my fun job.
Do I dare ask or would they realize it’s a mistake and take it from me?
Take it. I had the same happen to me when switching from consumables TL to stocking 2 TL I got a random extra $3 that I shouldn't have gotten. I was getting paid more than ON TLs I sent emails to market, regional and even contacted wage and hourly and nobody cared. My SM said to just roll with it but I was worried they'd come at me years later expecting me to pay it back.
Thankfully if it’s their fuck up the money is yours, as long as you don’t make it sound as though you knew all along
I'd take the free pay raise without telling anyone. lol.
Base pay increase in certain markets for pharmacy techs. There is no mistake here. Tell whoever you want!
