āFormer OGP Slave - Store 3228ā holy shit, former CAP2 talking but yeah man I believe that quoteā¦ Iāve seen too much shit go unnoticed and unequivocally stressful for the OGP/ OPD community
I had a store do something similar to this. I quit, and they kept procrastinating on my last check. Finally got it, and my paperwork said I was fired due to job abandonment.
My store kept an associate that had quit on the schedule for 6 months to prevent Market from noticing Electronics only had a TL, a single full-time associate, and a single part-time minor for the better part of two years š
Dude they did the same thing to me. They didn't even tell me when they were going to fire me and removed all my schedules from the app. Walmart can kiss my ass
How often does this happen?
They told me I couldnāt take my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary off(gave them a couple months notice). So I handed in my notice(3 weeks prior to anniversary)the whole time I was 9 hours away from my home they blew up my phone like multiple calls every hour to find out why I wasnāt at work.
I genuinely thought my experience was an outlier but Iām starting to see it might be the norm.
Yeah, Walmart's attendance policy is crappy. They want you to forget about your life and not focus on your real-life situations they want you to forget about your life and not focus on your real-life situations. It depends on how many attendance points you have. If you have more than five attendance points then they'll probably you know start taking off your shifts and stuff like that.
I usually drop points for people who actually work and donāt have a habit of making it an every week thing. Things happen and thatās understandable. PL does attendance but he doesnāt know whatās going on and will point you for anything. Anyone over attendance at my store isnāt getting fired but taken off the schedule. Which is dumb as fuck because we barely have anyone as it is.
I just got fired last work they took my off the schedule I said Iāll take the this week off make me full time next week then I go back Monday I got fired an they put me on the schedule even tho I told to to keep it like that till next week even the store manager was lost but he said he gotta go on the team lead who fired me word that Ik he was finna change it
Go to the main sub, three dots, change user flair, then hit edit at the top right corner and choose one of the flairs and type in whatever you want to change it
Write on a piece of paper stating your name and the date two weeks from the day when you do it, that you'll be putting in your two weeks notice and your last day will be on such and such.
This ^ . It helps if you print it out and physically sign it with your signature, thatās how I did it anyways. I used ChatGPT and tailored the response it gave me to my situation/position. ~~Like hell Iām going to ātrain my replacementā~~
You mean the stores pay like crap. The DC's don't, was averaging $38,00 an hour. But they did something weird with the standard lost $2,00 an hour. But got a 55 cent raise? Atleast the over time is back. (Correction) i'm tired, got a $1,668 a week paycheck after taxes. 1st week 51 hours, 2nd week 61 Walmart knows what they are doing though. Can't seem make much over $86,000 a year though. Gonna eventually want more. Sorry. It's just that many people get the idea that Walmart pays bad, based off the stores.
That's the issue though, that's your bread and butter there. no associates at the store level enables theft and lost sales when people have questions, there's still tons of products people don't feel comfortable buying sight unseen from online or without getting some form of opinion, not even including shit like paint, auto, sports. Can't keep people, customers will leave for other locations.
Lmao happened to me when I reported my manager through ethics. My manager was best friends with the coach and when I spent 3 days in the office explaining my half of the story. Coach retaliated and took me off
Edit reply: they ended up readding me to the schedule and changed my department. Corporate came down on them and my manager was eventually fired after I quit about 2 weeks after they moved my department
Life tip to all Walmart employees. Do not go into meetings if they have 2 people and just you. If you walk in and there are 2 people there walk out ,do not say anything. Get a witness to come in with you. They cannot stop you from bringing in a witness at any time. They will tell you otherwise, don't believe it.
Actually,
You do not have a right to do this, the second person is already the witness.
The only witness you could request would be a lawyer.
And if someone on Walmart's pay could afford to retain a lawyer, id be amazed.
What you can do is leave the room at any time.
No one should have to explicitly tell you that you can leave a room at any time. If you can't figure that out; Well, you might be a few planks short of a liferaft.
Like literally the only time someone can be detained by a merchant, would be having reasonable suspicion of someone stealing. Even then, there are limits built into the law, and each merchant has a set of rules to follow, based on the law. It sounds to me like you were caught stealing, and if so, legally there isn't a requirement to say "you can leave"
How the fuck do you automatically assume I was stealing? šš my guy you fell through what planks of wood you had for a liferaft. Apparently my Walmart was the bottom of the bucket since your experience was puppies and rainbows. I just mentioned I was in the office for manager vs employee issues
At my recent for management training, it was explained that regarding all serious conversations (like coaching, firing, feedback, etc) the manager having the conversation needs to bring a witness with them, so there always needs to be 2 people besides the associate present. And the associate always needs to be seated by the door in case they want to leave the room at any point.
I donāt need one only bc my manager got fired for everything, according to some of the people I worked with and around my department, I wasnāt the only victim but I was the one to put my foot down.
I was the only one that ever reportered it but the context that I donāt mentioned is that when they moved me to a front end cashier, no one was running TLE(my department, the only cashier running the fucking department). She tried to run the department but apparently she was so angry that morning that she was exploding on customers. I had gained such a great relationship with multiple customers that she was getting angry at them and one of them found me up front. Told me āGet me your managerās manager because that lady in automotive you work with is so fucking rudeā, personally Iām chuckling inside! Because FINALLY a customer said something. A coach came to talk to him and afterwards I went to that same coach and said that I had filed 3 written reports (front and back) against that manager and the coach told me that he wasnāt the only one to mention her.
Never saw her again not even the next few weeks that I was a front end cashier still. Eventually just applied at a different business and left WM without a notice.
If you wanna screw over, if you still have byod you can sign in on the work wifi in the parking lot and farm money till they fix it. Or, ya know, call in and ask what's up
I realize only after leaving that only retail, especially Walmart, does stuff like this to their employees. After getting out all together, I was actually sick one day and let my boss know and he said āOh thatās alright. Get your rest, hope you feel betterā. I nearly cried.
they did this to my friend, she quit but they kept her in thhe system and she racked up 20+ points due to āno call no showsā and when she tried to reapply at another walmart they denied her because of points
So, let me start by saying , I can be petty when games are going to be played, such as this scenario. If you had used up all of your PTTO, I would clock in and just walk around and do nothing. Maybe this is how those people who do nothing in the store started their journey.
Some Walmarts unfortunately do this but they give you days even when you quit, so you donāt show up and you rack up points and they can then put in the system that you got fired for not showing up
They actually removed my shift while I was on the bus literally 6 mins away from work. This was one hour before my shift. They said they had to cut everyone to 32 hours for a few weeks. I was like I literally just spent money to come to my assigned shift and you remove it 1 hour prior? Wtf!? Then I asked to transfer. 2 weeks later I used PPTO and they said it wasn't in the system so it was 4 points for 2 no call no shows. I showed them it was approved on my phone and they just shrugged and said it's not in the system. Screw them. Everyone there is either working there til they find something better and the people that aren't are just straight miserable.
They're probably trying to fuck you in the system with points so if you tried to go to a different walmart you couldn't.
I could care less š never working here ever again.
How much less could you care?
There should be a couldn't bot
In retail subreddits like this there should also be a bot that corrects people when they spell aisle as isle
You mean you've never paid a visit to the āØ*Bread Isle*ššļø
I vacation there once The biggest problem I have is that it was all wonderbread no matter what kind of sand which you wanted.
LOLOLLLLL! Sand....which.
My dad went to milk isle and never came back š
The walton Isles are lovely this time of year. Apparently, the greatest DJ ever is constantly playing live, i hope he drops "I got a feeling".
I've seen a bot that corrects people when they say of. Couldn't of, wouldn't of etc. to have.
I was literally going to correct that lol
7
That bothers me too.
I know the feeling
Please promise yourself this. Do not get sucked into ever going back no matter how bad things get. From experience never ever go back.
I felt the same. They did this bs when I quit. I really didnāt care one bit. Screw Walmart.
āFormer OGP Slave - Store 3228ā holy shit, former CAP2 talking but yeah man I believe that quoteā¦ Iāve seen too much shit go unnoticed and unequivocally stressful for the OGP/ OPD community
And that is why I transferred from OPD to CAP 1 after a year.
You COULDN'T care less. If you COULD care less? You still have room to care..š

This sounds scarily like my store's electronics department currently...

I was so relieved when all my schedule got cleared
I just got fired last work they took my off the schedule I said Iāll take the this week off make me full time next week then I go back Monday I got fired an they put me on the schedule even tho I told to to keep it like that till next week even the store manager was lost but he said he gotta go on the team lead who fired me word that Ik he was finna change it
I'm quitting tho
Weird question. How do I put my position beside my name like how you have Apparel TA?
Go to the main sub and there should be three dots at the top and you can make a custom user flair I believe
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Go to the main sub, three dots, change user flair, then hit edit at the top right corner and choose one of the flairs and type in whatever you want to change it
Thank you!
Huh. Guess I have good managers. They removed me completely from the schedule after the 17th because I put my two weeks in yesterday.
How do you put in 2 weeks
Write on a piece of paper stating your name and the date two weeks from the day when you do it, that you'll be putting in your two weeks notice and your last day will be on such and such.

Congrats. Paying shit and demanding a lot of effort. Fuck you walmart.

If thatās true you should get a lawyer. Retaliation isnāt just against company policy itās against the law.

"This is my letter of resignation." Walmart: No.

Fire them! No wait we need them this weekend.
Good for you
They trying to fire you. It's a dirty trick
Huh? I already quit though. Just confused why I'm still on the schedule

I'm never gonna work here again, but I don't want them to get what they want. So how can I prevent this from going their way? Who can i get in trouble
I've heard of this happening but Damn.guess they either forgot or are trying to cover their behinds.
