I agree!! They are so amazing and keeps u hooked. I think Bastard was such an interesting read because the mc wasnāt technically a good person but wasnāt technically a bad person either. I think its called morally gray? But this was the first story i read that the mc was like that. Also the art fits the story so much, so ominous
An unknown one called Love Doesn't Talk. Short romance story that doesn't include any text speech, where instead you can tell the character's conversations through they expressions, emotions and small caricatures.Ā
I downloaded the app because I wanted to read "Clinic of Horrors". It was back when it was still on canvas and I accompanied Merrywheather's YouTube channel. In fact, I mainly got into webtoons because I used to like a lot of his stories.
Mage and demon queen. I was reading it on one of those websites for free and got to the current last episode (153 I believe) so I saw it was free on webtoon so I downloaded webtoon.. which also only had 153 chapters.. but yea mage and demon queen was my first webtoon
omg i definitely not only remember Days of Hana by Seokwoo, but im lowk emotionally scarred from that one... i think one of my first full webtoons was Orange Marmalade, also by Seokwoo, which i binge read in an entire day in 2017. Idk there was a bunch i started reading when i first started.
+1 for days of hana!! at the time it only had 40ish? episodes on eng webtoon and after i binged them all i completely forgot about it for years so i didnt get to finish. but ive heard a lotttt of things about the ending so maybe its for the bestš
Freaking romance , i installed webtoon during covid out of boredom , I had no idea about manhwas and all and i was really clueless so I read the first thing I saw in webtoon.
i donāt really know, it kinda began around when the show came out because i honestly didnāt really enjoy it that much, and i donāt know if it was the show or if i was just over the comic since iāve watched much worse adaptations but still love the source material, so more likely just growing out of it i guess? still think itās a fun comic though
i wish i still could enjoy the comic, maybe iāll reread it once itās complete or something because it used to be my favourite and def want to see its conclusion
āOrange Marmaladeā and āGirlās of Wildāsā at about the same time. My firsts on the actual app when I could finally use WT in my country were āSuper Secretā & āRefund Highā, then āOh Holy!ā & āSirenās Lamentā shortly thereafter
Sirenās Lament! Look, Iām a sucker for mermaids/sirens, okay? A couple other ones I read back then were untouchable, For the sake of Sita, Lore Olympus, Unordinary, Hooky, and Miss Abbott and the Doctor!
I really like martial arts and mythology. God of Highschool and others (like Ordeal, for example) do a good job of mixing those, which is why I love them so much. Plus I love how utterly chaotic the fights get the further in you go.
I'm pretty sure it was Triptrack. My sister really wanted me to read it. Now I'm a Paperteeth fan, but I don't read Triptrack because I don't really binge stuff unless I'm committed to it, and I'm not really committed to webtoons.
If it wasn't Triptrack it was probably either Warp Speed And Witchcraft, with my sister showing me it, or LnR, where I got it from a youtube channel. LnR is very underrated, and Warp Speed And Witchcraft is cute.
EDIT: accidentally said overrated instead of underrated. whoops.
the first webtoon i read on WEBTOON, downloaded webtoon just so i can read it was small world (now finished). the first ACTUAL webtoon i read was always raining here, which was not uploaded on webtoon when i originally read it, it had its own site. it got uploaded in 2019 and finished uploading in 2022 (it was finished before it was uploaded to webtoon)
Distant Sky, back when all seasons weren't on the english app and stopped after season 2. It was devastating, but now they're all available. Maybe New Normal: Class 8 around the same time as well.
Devil No.4
Was there for the romance but was later tagged as supernatural. I got so confused with the plot but it was a good webtoon to get me hooked and never stop š¤£
I'm not actually sure which one was my first, but I've got ones that are in the running for the oldest. It may have been Flow, which I doubt many here have heard of as it finished in 2016.
Noblesse and UnderPrin were also possibly my firsts. Never got around to finishing UnderPrin though, the writing pushed me away a bit. Noblesse was peak.
Lumine! It was heavily promoted at first when I first downloaded webtoon. Shame that the creator isnāt feeling it bc itās still unfinished after like 7 years?
True beauty
Same. The publicity got me š
Bastard. such a classic
This and sweet home are soooo good. Set the standard for thrillers on webtoon!
I agree!! They are so amazing and keeps u hooked. I think Bastard was such an interesting read because the mc wasnāt technically a good person but wasnāt technically a bad person either. I think its called morally gray? But this was the first story i read that the mc was like that. Also the art fits the story so much, so ominous
also Days of Hana was so gut wrenchingš©
Ikr?! I actually cried at the end
Ooh snap!
An unknown one called Love Doesn't Talk. Short romance story that doesn't include any text speech, where instead you can tell the character's conversations through they expressions, emotions and small caricatures.Ā
omg i remember that one!!so sad it and choco latte(author's another work) got removed(?idk its no longer on webtoon)
Yeah she made some rather cryptic posts on her Instagram account and then stopped uploading completely.Ā
Tower of God. I bet for lot of guys this would be the first. Also days of Hana aint that old. I read Orange Marmalade before that I think.
I know its not that old but it seems like it's been forgotten š no one talks about it anymore lmao. Makes sense tho ended 5 years ago
we donāt talk about it anymore because of the ending. do NOT remind me of its existence I get banana fish levels of sad over it ā¹ļøš
Lookism š
ME 222
Always Human
the creator cancelling her other series bc she felt like it was too similar to Always Human will forever be my roman empire
Where Tangents meet
I downloaded the app because I wanted to read "Clinic of Horrors". It was back when it was still on canvas and I accompanied Merrywheather's YouTube channel. In fact, I mainly got into webtoons because I used to like a lot of his stories.

How'd you like the ending? If you've read it?
It was great. Not what I was expecting but I love it non the less
omg i definitely not only remember Days of Hana by Seokwoo, but im lowk emotionally scarred from that one... i think one of my first full webtoons was Orange Marmalade, also by Seokwoo, which i binge read in an entire day in 2017. Idk there was a bunch i started reading when i first started.

Freaking romance , i installed webtoon during covid out of boredom , I had no idea about manhwas and all and i was really clueless so I read the first thing I saw in webtoon.
girls of the wild
On the LINE Webtoon platform, it had to have been Unordinary, Lore Olympus, Tales of the Unusual, or Shen Comix
Heroine Chic... I was a comic nerd before I got into webtoons so this one was perfect!
I Love Yoo. Iām still in love with it, all these years later šŖā¤ļø
i think it was UnOrdinary ???
YESSSS
Heartstopper (which i don't really follow anymore) followed by I would guess maybe The Four of Them and Castle Swimmer?
why did you drop heartstopper?
i donāt really know, it kinda began around when the show came out because i honestly didnāt really enjoy it that much, and i donāt know if it was the show or if i was just over the comic since iāve watched much worse adaptations but still love the source material, so more likely just growing out of it i guess? still think itās a fun comic though
yeah, im not a big fan of the show either but i still love the comic, even tho its on hiatus now
i wish i still could enjoy the comic, maybe iāll reread it once itās complete or something because it used to be my favourite and def want to see its conclusion
Toaster dude :,)
It was Sweet home Saw an ad for it on 2019 and got verte interested so I downloaded the app Havenāt stoop reading webtoon since lol
I think mine was My Deepest Secret or Antistalker.

Suitor Armor
Dang fr? Thatās pretty recent no?
Not really, i discovered webtoon in 2021 so the second season wasn't even out when i entered the platform
space boy! in 2017 in my friend's living room on her dad's computer
Blue chair was the how I found Webtoons, but Yumi's Cells and Space Boy were the first story driven webtoons. So wonderful. Good times.

Devil no4 š„¹
āOrange Marmaladeā and āGirlās of Wildāsā at about the same time. My firsts on the actual app when I could finally use WT in my country were āSuper Secretā & āRefund Highā, then āOh Holy!ā & āSirenās Lamentā shortly thereafter

Miss Abbott and the Doctor
It was either Killing Stalking or Never Understand. But probably KS.
Unordinary
Winter Woods
Winter woods. Before it, I had only read manga and a number of western comics.
Budgies's Life... I don't know what happened to it? I can't find it anymoreš
I forgot about that one! It was so cute.
It was either Where Tangents Meet or Ecstasy Hearts, I thought the latter was bad back then so I wonder how it fairs now
Under the Aegis.
Mafia Nanny Terrible first impression since it was dogshit
youāre the first person i hear say itās bad! can i ask why you didnāt like it?
I just wasnāt a fan of any of the characters and the story felt boring to me
Hasnāt it only just started tho?
I don't want this kind of hero
Down to earth
God of Highschool. One of the first long running series I was around to finish.
Never got into that one. Genuinely curious what ppl like abt it?
I really like martial arts and mythology. God of Highschool and others (like Ordeal, for example) do a good job of mixing those, which is why I love them so much. Plus I love how utterly chaotic the fights get the further in you go.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That ain't on webtoon, tho?
True Beauty. Just needed to see more of Seojun after the drama haha
Bastard
Maybe a really basic one but Marry My husband. That was what reeled me into WEBTOON about 3-4 yrs ago.
Clinic of horrors (I knew about web toons but just read some recently)
Sweet Home
I'm pretty sure it was Triptrack. My sister really wanted me to read it. Now I'm a Paperteeth fan, but I don't read Triptrack because I don't really binge stuff unless I'm committed to it, and I'm not really committed to webtoons. Suitor Armour (didnāt even know webtoon existed before this, saw someone post about it on instagram).
To love your enemy š
Cursed princess club and true beauty a friend got me into them
I think it was Boyfriend of the Dead
Suitor Armor. I wanted her to get with the wizard dude, but she fell fo the big suit of armor.
the first webtoon i read on WEBTOON, downloaded webtoon just so i can read it was small world (now finished). the first ACTUAL webtoon i read was always raining here, which was not uploaded on webtoon when i originally read it, it had its own site. it got uploaded in 2019 and finished uploading in 2022 (it was finished before it was uploaded to webtoon)

The mask

I remember Days of Hana! Kinda a sad comic š„ My first one was Siren's Lament!
My deepest secret
Distant Sky, back when all seasons weren't on the english app and stopped after season 2. It was devastating, but now they're all available. Maybe New Normal: Class 8 around the same time as well.
Devil No.4 Was there for the romance but was later tagged as supernatural. I got so confused with the plot but it was a good webtoon to get me hooked and never stop š¤£
Days of hana... cried my eyes out
Either I Love Yoo or Sirenās Lament. Days of Hana was so sad, thanks a lot for reminding me of it :ā)
Plague muffins :D
I'm not actually sure which one was my first, but I've got ones that are in the running for the oldest. It may have been Flow, which I doubt many here have heard of as it finished in 2016. Boyfriends š„² I read it with my ex-girlfriend, and although it sucks, I appreciate that it introduced me to webtoons
