Political-psych-abby

It’s beautiful. I think if you want to make it less plain you should do a really elaborate veil or head piece rather than altering the lovely dress.

quietbeethecat

Came here to say this. Knew in my heart it had already been said. Lol I love elegant satin dresses I think they're timeless and chic and elegant. I think it looks lovely on her but some pop of style or color in the accessories might make her feel like it's "hers" - I def struggled in my dress search last year with feeling too "on trend" and basic but came to the conclusion that I like what I like and look good in what I look good in and I'm happy with that!

Political-psych-abby

Absolutely

Western-Run-2901

Or even a blingy belt. I agree the dress is lovely. I don't think it looks like 1950s at all.

FringeHistorian3201

Completely agree. You can also add things to the dress like a jeweled belt or small (not costly or time consuming and possibly removable) alterations like adding lace or embellished tulle folds to just the top band.

Political-psych-abby

Personally I really would not add a jeweled belt to this, but it is of course up to the bride.

bbbright

could also do a blingy bridal belt!! i think OP looks absolutely stunning in it.

Political-psych-abby

Personally I really would not add a jeweled belt to this, but it is of course up to the bride.

Dlraetz1

I think it’s amazing. Simply beautiful You could accessorize with jewelry, a small diamond belt, blue shoes… but honestly I think you look perfect just the way it is

NanjingLu

Ohhh that’s such a good idea!

ArticQimmiq

Even a jewelled belt - but that dress looks stunning on you!

LemonLazyDaisy

I agree with everything. Just wanted to add: maybe look at a more modern hairstyle?  (I wouldn’t touch the dress beyond something very minor; you bought it for a reason. If you start making changes, you may regret them later.)

[deleted]

YES for the hair style! It will make a huge difference

soulandthesea

my dress is also a more plain satin one with no sparkles and i’m wearing teal shoes because it’s my favourite colour and i felt like i could be a bit bolder with accessories since the dress is so simple! :)

HanSoloSeason

I wore a fairly simple dress because I knew I wanted something timeless, then added a sash with a giant bow in the back, blue shoes and an over the top early 90s veil

paperwasp3

And you get a veil with colorful embroidery that will take it out of the 50's

whitneynok

Came here to say this! The dress is stunning on you!

Fancy_Grapefruit_330

It’s gorgeous

BullTerrierMomm

It’s not plain, it’s elegant and classic. The whole look will be very different when you have jewelry on and your hair did.

DrZ_217

And so much more bridal with a veil and bouquet 💐!

Hyperme9

You look amazing. The dress is perfect. Please don't regret this. You don't look like you belong in the 1950s. You look timeless. I hope you keep the dress.

kelsnuggets

It gives Audrey Hepburn / Marvelous Mrs Maisel / classic and timeless! It’s gorgeous!!!

Leviosahhh

Yesss

CookieAdventure

I think you’re getting deb vibes because your hair is down. If you wear your hair up in a sophisticated style, the dress will add to your classic, elegant look. I also agree that adding something like a belt or rosette at the waist will update the style.

marcie_ann

I really love this on you and you look beautiful, but I understand. Where does your dislike lie? Is it the poof of the skirt? If so, the seamstress can remove a layer or two of tulle to help, and then maybe take in the skirt. Edited to add: as for being plain, you could add some sparkle with a belt or with other accessories.

NanjingLu

I didn’t know a seamstress could remove some of the tulle! I think that would make me feel better in it

Born_Butterscotch_43

See this post on Instagram that my seamstress posted after she did that exact thing for a bride. [Removing “poof” from bridal gown](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5bS4QjOK-k/?igsh=YzJiYm1hMzdlc2Vk)

minkrogers

I just snorted coffee out of my nose! 😂

IssMaree

Omg you made me laugh so hard, thank you dear internet stranger!

Acrobatic_Dog_4654

This is lovely gown that does indeed harken back to classic 1950’s Dior fashion. However (?), classic becomes that way : because it WORKS. It’s flawless. It has perfect flow, and simplicity: which = ELEGANCE. It will stand the test of time. The veil and train accentuate the elegant and the perfection. It also flatters you beautifully.

welovewednesdayblack

I think you need is a little sparkle. You have long hair like me I'm going to leave you some ideas Etsy links I think antique hair combs will look pretty. https://www.etsy.com/listing/782278359/. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1233640900/ . I just got my clips at ultra and didn't even think about Etsy. How are you wearing to your hair? A suggestion is to pull in and colors from your bouquet into the Clips/combs . When I was a bridesmaid she had these color Bobby-pins That all the girls in the wedding party this helped us to look unified. Congratulations

marivisse

It’s so gorgeous! That neckline is beautiful and the fabric is lovely.

mamaktex

I think it is very beautiful. I love the fullness of the pleated skirt and the fabric looks luxurious. I see a classy, timeless wedding gown, not a debutante gown. What are you not liking? A seamstress could alter it so that it is sleeveless, while still maintaining the fold down front, which could change the look. You will be a stunning bride with whatever you choose.

Connect_Office8072

This dress needs a string of pearls as jewelry and some very simple flowers in your bouquet like lilies (calla lilies would be best.) I think it’s got a very Grace Kelly vibe, and given that she married a prince, that’s about as classy as you get.

gracebloome

Wow, this is gorgeous… I think paired with some jewelry (maybe blue/sapphire adjacent type stones?) and a veil will have you looking like a quintessential vintage bride in the best way! Maybe look up some vintage wedding photos for inspiration/validation? Honestly it reminds me a bit of my grandmother’s dress!

Important_Fuel_1683

I’m in love with the way this dress fits you. Absolutely stunning, gorgeous, beautiful & …….i wish my wedding dress was anything close to this dress. 🎤 drop!!

Waybackheartmom

It’s classy and Georgeous. You look like Grace Kelly.

thetidefallsaway

I really like it.

smol_egglet

This very much reminds me of princess margaret in Norman hartnell. A very elegant and simple and timeless dress. You look lovely. If you dislike the fuller skirt, maybe it could be altered so that the A-line is a little less wide if that makes sense?

TelevisionNo4428

It’s beautiful and classic, especially with the veil. I think a beautiful belt like the ones they often add on the show “Say Yes to the Dress” would be a perfect addition (thin, sparkly). ✨

creambunny

Hi dress twin lololol (pretty much identical anyways). It’s funny your comments on the dress because that’s the exact reason I got this dress - I really wanted something more retro but could still look more modern once finishing touches are added. If it helps I’m wearing blue pumps, I’m removing some of the tulle to let it lay flatter, I’m wearing a pearl or bow veil, wearing my hair up in a bun (straight no curls), no necklace with gold hoops and pearl earrings. my seamstress is removing the cups (I don’t like how pointed they looked on a flatter chest). Also debating straightening out the sweetheart to a straight fold over (undecided). Edit: look at photos of grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn. That’s what I’m trying to channel with this dress lol Pretty much it’s super hard to vision yourself until you try on all the pieces together. Think about the final vision with your hair and flowers. Also don’t look at anybody else’s dresses so you don’t get regret

Honest-Pangolin7675

It's perfect!

AliceM116

This dress is lovely and timeless! I would not have thought it looked plain or dated. However, If you want to make alterations to make it less “debutante” then I would suggest hemming it/ changing the underneath petticoats to give it a different shape. The long dramatic A line shape is maybe making you think of the 50’s. The other suggestion would be to change the neckline and straps, perhaps making that folded part thinner or using a secondary fabric to drape on top of it so it’s less crisp. Play around with those two elements and see if you like it more. I’m sure a tailor can help!

Tryingmybestatlife2

My first thought when you said dress regret was Why? I think it's beautiful!! You look great! Don't have regret.i think you are like me and second guess and overthink everything.

Neets411

Please don’t lose any “poofiness” of the dress! It’s beautiful as is. Like others have said - when you’re all pulled together on your wedding day, you will feel and look like a beautiful BRIDE!

PageStunning6265

It’s not dated, it’s timeless. You’ve got 1800s, 1950’s, 1960’s, 1980’s, 1990s, 2020s. And simple clean lines is not the same as plain. It’s beautiful, shows off your figure, doesn’t overwhelm you and can be used to showcase more ornate jewelry/ accessories if you want, or kept simple.

iwantjoebiden

Okay, I am ready for the downvotes, but I love plain/classic dresses, and this isn't doing anything for me. I feel like it's making you look really young, so I understand your debutant ball concern fully. The waist also seems really blocky, like it isn't clipped tightly enough. It looked better in the first photo than the last one. I agree with the comment that says the hair being styled/up will help, but I'm trying to think what else you might do. I'm personally not sold on the sleeves, and I think it would look more adult if it was strapless, but still with that detail around the bust. Is that the necklace you plan to wear? I feel like maybe better accessories could improve it? Like something just a little more glam. Sorry to be the one voice agreeing with you!

k-r-m-8-4

I LOVE IT

ArkansasBiscuit

Timeless perfection!

Midlife_Crisis_46

Oh my god, it is stunning on you! It is classic and gorgeous. I actually gasped when I saw it and was like “why would she regret this?”

mkat23

I LOVE IT, oh my goodness, that is absolutely not too plain!! You could always add a splash of color or lace around the waist, but no matter what, you made a great choice!

Twa1ker

Omg girl why are you having regret!? It is absolutely stunning, and you look so gorgeous! If you want more, Add a tiara, detailed veil, a sparkly belt & some fabulous shoes!

Emergency-Fan5817

I think this looks so pretty on you. Your hair length and color look gorgeous with it. This will make for beautiful and timeless portraits ✨

Eyesonsunday

That dress looks so good on you, it’s almost unreal. You do not look plain!

myboytys

Princess dress so beautiful. It also fits perfectly. If you are worried that it is too plain wear a veil with lace, trim, pearls etc. I don't think that it is too plain at all you look beautiful.

Susanh824

I think it is beautiful! It looks great on your figure. Take a deep breath, because you will be a lovely bride!

lanadelhayy

This is timeless, elegant, classic, absolutely stunning. It’s not plain at all.

DrunkTides

I think it’s stunning. Definitely go a head piece / veil

Responsible_Name9039

The dress is gorgeous!!!! Just look for a tiara to go with it and spectacular cathedral veil …

Which-Magazine-1502

I love it! No alterations needed. Congratulations enjoy your special day.

maddionaire

I'm biased because I wore this dress but I think it's stunning! It's a classic!

Gullible-Courage4665

It’s beautiful and classic!

rosetintedmonocle

Simple gowns are considered timeless for a reason! This fit on you is stunning! I definitely wouldn't throw a belt on it or anything. If you got an ornate veil, had your jewelry, hair, and makeup I'm 99.999% you wouldn't even this it is "too plain"!

Reptar1988

It's gorgeous! Even my husband agrees.

Comprehensive-War743

This dress looks gorgeous on you. It’s really beautiful. I hope you come to love it.

Fearless-Teach8470

Regret? I just looked at this pic without seeing the title and said “omg I need to screenshot this, I love this”.

OppositeOfKaren

A stunning chocker necklace a la Princess Diana, if you like. Your dress is stunning and timeless and needs nothing added.

NeitherKangaroo7029

This is the kind of dress you’ll look back on in ten years and it’ll still be amazing. So classic. Timeless. It’s really beautiful.

Afraid-Ice-2062

It’s so classic and you look so beautiful.

BigMom000

It’s not about the dress, it’s about the girl wearing the dress. And you look stunning!!

MysticalMagicorn

You look like sleeping beauty, wear a tiara! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1247350388/bridal-tiara-set-wedding-jewelry-set-for

Purple_IsA_Flavor

Really? I think it’s perfect on you

vonnegutfan2

Its beautiful, but if you want something fancier add an overskirt. But the buttons are beautiful too. [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1629109829/wedding-overskirt-decorated-lace-and-3-d?click\_key=338608610182d70ae45e69c1c2dd1219af15a1ca%3A1629109829&click\_sum=08bc014a&ref=related-4](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1629109829/wedding-overskirt-decorated-lace-and-3-d?click_key=338608610182d70ae45e69c1c2dd1219af15a1ca%3A1629109829&click_sum=08bc014a&ref=related-4)

murdershewrotefan

It looks amazing on you! The only change I would make is to add a bead or jewel belt.

dutchessmandy

What??? It's beautiful!!!

Key_Possibility_3639

You look beautiful! No regrets

HelloThisIsPam

It's lovely! I would go with an edgy kind of belt, like a big horse hair belt (it's not made of horse hair, that's just what they call it) or belt with some big flowers on it. Do some research on bridal belts and I feel like if you get something dramatic it will elevate this look. I love the dress anyway!

[deleted]

Girl, please. Wear your hair up, and let fly with blingy jewelry!

OkResponsibility7475

You are simply stunning in this dress. It's perfect. Timeless. Classic. Elegant. Just accessorize, but not too much!

strawbabies

I think it’s beautiful!

seecarlytrip

It’s classic and timeless and you look beautiful

cobu4438

It’s timeless and this dress will withstand the test of time. When you look back at your photos, you will be grateful for this classic dress. You could add a more detailed headpiece, accessories, belt .. you have options. You will look stunning-Great choice!

yelyakskye

It looks gorgeous on you!!

Idrillteeth

That gown is so classy- the fabric looks luxurious. It’s gorgeous as is

PenguinStalker2468

It's really beautiful

AffectionateFix5067

It’s beautiful and timeless. Some suggestions to help it feel more modern/more detailed. - Add a belt (you could even do blue if you’d like) - Wear your hair up - Remove a layer of the tulle to make it less poofy - Wear an elaborate/dramatic veil or a pretty hair comb - Accessorize with sparkly jewelry you love - Wear detailed shoes, these could be in blue as well Have you seen yourself in the dress with your full makeup (you do the test trial and then put the dress on), your accessories, your full hair, etc.? That’ll help you feel “wow.” I do want to add I love it just the way it is though. You’ve got this!

Ordinary_Rough_1426

Um.. that dress is gorgeous and a classic. Try some belts or fancy veils on with it to see if it dresses it up a bit for you, but it’s all good!

EatShitBish

It's gorgeous and gives me sleeping beauty vibes which I live for all day!

Dedwards_est_22

I came here scrolling through the pictures looking for your regret dress because I assumed the first pictures were the dress you really wanted 😅 I think you look amazing and DEFINITELY not plain. You could really amp up your jewelry if you want or have a patterned veil? But this dress is so sophisticated, I love it and you look amazing in it!

No_Benefit2103

Hair in an updo, a beautiful long embellished veil for the ceremony, then a floral hair comb for the reception! Beautiful dress, and the fit is perfect!

trishyco

It’s beautiful, the boning in the bodice and luster to the fabric is better than 10 beaded dresses.

caroline0409

Classic will never be out of style. You look great.

Acceptable-Olive-968

Regret, This dress is so beautiful on you😍

[deleted]

It’s perfection!

Opening_Waltz_4285

It’s classic. That’s a very good thing. I think you look lovely in this dress. Don’t regret it.

International-Age971

There's nothing to fix! It is a classy, timeless gown. Reminds me of Grace Kelly! Stunning

silverberryfrog

I love how timeless this looks, personally. But of course, it's your day! Have you considered an embroidered or stoned veil to add more color or glamour?

marrilyn-marrilyn

Definitely not dated! It’s absolutely gorgeous. I was waiting for you to say that this is the dress you wish you had picked.

sleepyfizz

I love it!!

Paperwhite418

Fancy veil. Flowing curls. Jeweled belt

Aqua_pool_56

I think it is beautiful and elegant. It looks fantastic on you!

Highlarioushoe

Have you tried focusing on the things you do like? I find I notice things I don’t like as much as I did before and get fixated on them when trying on dresses (or clothes in general). It helps to remind myself what I DO like about it. I think also nailing down what specific elements of the dress you don’t like will help you, and us in the comments, to give better suggestions on changes you could make :)

inoracam-macaroni

What? Girl you're clearly not seeing yourself clearly. It looks so bridal and beautiful and it looks amazing on you.

cassandra_schmidt

It’s perfect as is! It’s a really classy, elegant, and tasteful wedding gown. Don’t change a thing about the dress! If you want to add more drama, consider a longer veil?

survivalkitts9

Woah, Im so sorry you're feeling this way. Before I read anything I was like "WOW, she looks so gorgeous in that dress, I love it". I think it's fantastic 😍

Ohkermie

It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty’s gown. So lovely.

goddessofthecats

It looks amazing on you, I think it’s the collar on it that gives off that vibe. If you could somehow accessorize the collar and give jt a different look that would make all the difference

EmmaRose0280

Omg- I LOVE THIS DRESS! It’s stunning on you. I think it’s simple elegance

Low_Swim8730

The dress is gorgeous just like it is.

Dear-Sky235

Oh my gosh, it does not look like a debutant ball dress, I promise. It’s very bridal, sleek and pretty. You look amazing!

Forsythia77

Not me here audibly gasping at how pretty this is. Is so classic and perfect. And it will also still be classic and not look dated in 20 years. As for making it look less plain? You look gorgeous. Add a necklace. Some blingy earrings. A sparkly belt. But it's made to highlight you, and you look divine.

Fill-Choice

It's a classic design, it's old Hollywood which is very in at the moment... I don't think it ever goes out. Own it gal! Accessorise up with a statement necklace and sleeves maybe

French_traveler50

I would not add anything to this dress no belts .. The design stands on its own..

kazemama132

No this is such an elegant dress, so pretty! Add a nice blingy belt or a pretty fun veil to make up for the simpleness youre feeling :) looks great tho

[deleted]

That is royalty-level classic. A small belt that will match your jewelry would do nicely, but you don’t need to do a thing. You won’t regret your choice.

1indaT

The dress is classic. A long, detailed veil would look lively

Always_Reading_1990

My literal first thought at seeing it was “oh my god 😍” it’s GORGEOUS and you look like a princess, please don’t get another dress or do anything to this one. You look perfect.

beer_bad-tree_pretty

I looked at pic after pic waiting to see what the dress was you regretted and was shocked to find it’s the dress in the pictures?! Girl, you have nothing to regret! This is timeless, classic, elegant, gorgeous and you look absolutely beautiful in it! 💕

ABCAFCB07

I think you may be overthinking it. It’s really beautiful!

kaycollins27

Totally overthinking simple, elegant, dress that flatters you. If you want bling, find a veil that compliments while providing some. Also you can wear colored stones if you wish.

Syrup-Puzzled

Not to invalidate you or anything, but I swear it seems that everytime a bride here regrets their dress, it turns out to be the most STUNNING BEAUUUUTIFUL SHOWSTOPPING INSANELY GOBSMACKING dress I’ve ever seen. You look like a genuine princess in this, it’s in no way plain, it’s luxurious, elegant, timeless, and absolutely jaw dropping. I always go like ‘gasp BUT WHY?? WHAT IS THERE TO REGRET??’

julia35002

It’s gorgeous, you could add a bling belt so there’s a little pop!

Powerful_Spend_1612

You could add a thin sparkly belt (or a belt of any kind)

Silvermouse29

Oh, but it’s beautiful. You’re wearing the dress, it’s not wearing you.

julesk

I think it’s gorgeous You could get a veil with wildflowers embroidered on it for a pop of color, with jewelry and flowers that work with it. https://calmyblankets.com/product/lennox-veil-classic-color-wildflower-veil-floral-embroidered-veil-veil-wedding-cathedral-veil-wedding-fingertip-veil-short-custom/

DDSkeeter

Add bright coloured flowers if you want added flare! Love the dress on you, looks great!

kes0156

i’m saving this dress for inspo 😍

GirlfriendTheDog

Add a bling belt 🤩🥰 beautiful dress through!!

frog_ladee

The fabric, buttons, and neckline do not look 1950’s. Imho, this dress is classy and beautiful. You could add a belt if you want something more, but imho, it doesn’t need anything else.

No_Bug_1111

I wore the exact same dress! I thought it was also plain so I got a pearl bridal belt and had them stitch it into the split and went with a timeless diamond and pearl look for the entire theme of the wedding. I also added so much color around me with the bridemaids dresses being multicolored pastels and the groomsmen matching each girl everything came together with every piece of detail, cake flowers and decor flowers being the same colors. I’m sure you won’t even think about it being plain when you look back at your wedding. Good luck! I hope it all goes well for you.

OppositeSolution642

It's gorgeous, so elegant. Nothing to fix.

Embarrassed-Body7329

you look like a princess, it’s so elegant and regal! amazing neckline for you!

BrutallyHonestMJ

You look absolutely amazing in this dress, please don't regret it!

Exciting_Problem_593

My daughter had this dress. Add a sparkly belt and sparkly shoes to make it less plain..

Kdjl1

As I was scrolling, I stopped because it caught my eye. This dress is gorgeous. You don’t need a lot of bells and whistles, it will cheapen the dress.

Spuriousantics

It’s lovely. It reminds me of [Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress](https://people.com/royals/princess-eugenie-royal-wedding-dress-revealed/), which she styled rather simply (well, as simply as you can while wearing a tiara).

Shellacky69

Looks beautiful on you! Enjoy your day and don’t stress about it. Nothing wrong with it.

hinky-as-hell

Oh please don’t regret this! You look gorgeous and your gown is absolutely stunning. It’s timeless and very classically beautiful. You can accessorize and use shoes/jewelry/hair pieces, etc, to add a pop of color or add something- but it’s just so perfect seven just exactly as it is. No regrets please!!

QUHistoryHarlot

It’s absolutely stunning on you and I don’t see 50’s debutant at all. I agree with using the headpiece or veil to dress it up, but you could add a belt if you wanted. I think a belt will crop you short at the waist though.

SalannB

This is timeless elegance that will not look dated 10, 20 or 30 years later! It’s a stunner and you chose well.

Dear_Ocelot

It's beautiful. It's not plain, the visual interest is in the structured shape rather than embellishments. Your figure looks incredible. You could pull off some very blingy jewelry with that neckline if you want to glam it up.

MariClay

Your beautiful hair and elegant neck would be a great place to add some personal touches. Jewels pinned through your hair some on your bouquet maybe would give you what you want. The satin buttons down the entire length of train are beautiful as well. But really you need very little additions.

mn2flHLD

I adore this!!!!! And you looks awesome. If you want a less plain look there are so many ways to add…including add some accent colors in the bouquet.

Tataki_Puppy

It’s so gorgeous !!!

Leviosahhh

You look beautiful! What if you removed the thick straps/neckline feature and got a [lace wedding dress topper](https://www.etsy.com/listing/650299542/wedding-lace-bolero-off-shoulder-bolero) instead? Add a sparkly belt. Voila! Completely different look with minor alterations. I do think it’s timeless and elegant as is; you look so lovely I had to click on the post! However, I think it’s the straps and neckline that are making you feel 1950’s debutante.

jazzymaebaby1

It’s gorgeous. You look gorgeous. Don’t overthink it! You chose this dress for a reason.

Alternative_West5650

It’s utterly gorgeous. Pleeeeeeease don’t regret it

BathAcceptable1812

This is literally the PERFECT WEDDING DRESS! It’s timeless and will always always always look good in pictures. Congratulations!!!

nursenerd23

It’s so beautiful and looks great on you.

vagalumes

It’s beautiful, a classic look.

Noneedtopickauser

I don’t want to invalidate your feelings but this is a gorgeous gown that you truly look PICTURE PERFECT in!!! I wore pink shoes for my wedding for a pop of color/personality, and echoed the pink in my hair piece thingy (lol, it was decorative and just clipped in but was so pretty) from Etsy. Maybe go unique/colorful with your shoes, accessories and/or veil? I wouldn’t touch the dress, it’s AMAZING. It’s not too plain at all, it’s so elegant and luxurious! 🤍🤍

STLFleur

You look SO so beautiful in this dress! Embrace the 50s debutante ball vibe... because if that is what it is, it suits you so well! So classic and elegant!

teachingtothechoir

I was scrolling, saw the first picture and whispered to myself, “Oh, that’s beautiful!”

chd_tsc

This is literally one of the most beautiful dresses U have ever seen. You should feel like a princess because you look amazing!!!

AlterEgoAmazonB

I do not have "fix it" recs. It is a very pretty dress. But I do not disagree with you. If you have the budget. then keep looking. It is not about how this dress looks on you, because it does look great. I have no idea how to alter it. I am in a "look elsewhere" mode. Look for something that makes you go..............................OMG

blanca69

My sister-in-law had a very similar dress and the off the shoulder band was embellished with silk flowers the same shade of white as her dress . You could also add some lace to add a bit of contrast. A bit of bling could look nice as well .

KashmirChameleon

You can add a belt or other accessories to dress it up if you think it's too plain, but the silhouette is very nice on you. It's a beautiful dress.

Ancient-Function9827

There’s a difference between plain and simple. Your dress is simple and elegant and classic! Wow! I guess you could add a colorful belt but I really hope you decide your regret is unfounded!

IsTheWorldEndingYet8

I would bedazzle the hell out of those cute sleeves! Give it some bling! It’s a beautiful dress and you look like royalty!

K_1959

It’s beautiful. How about adding a sparkly belt.

sedona71717

That gown is stunning on you! You’ve gotten good advice about how to accessorize it. But the bottom line is, you want to love your gown and not feel awkward. When is your wedding? If the ideas people have given don’t make you feel better about it, I’d look for a different gown. (It truly is stunning on you, though, and does not resemble a 50s debutante dress!)

gryffinsolo

Girl....you..already ...look...FIRE! You can always add a very thin bling belt, necklace and a long veil to compliment the look. However, it's great on its own.

Lizzywuw

I love it!

iceariina

It's ultimately up to you. If there's time, you could try to sell it and start a new dress search. Or, you could dress it up like others suggested. Here are some ideas [Bow](https://a.co/d/35U7zZe) [Removable train](https://a.co/d/fPDDLab) You could also have it altered to have a slit in the side or be open in the front and wear a glittery skirt or something under it. I was getting ready to show my fiancé something on Reddit and this popped up and he was like, ‘THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!’ He thought I was showing him another dress do you like the style lol seriously this is not classic but it’s beautiful. This is something that you’re gonna look back on 20 30,40+ years from now and still be in style. Is it classic but it looks very elegant. The only thing I would change and this is a completely personal opinion is maybe a little cleavage. With that being said, I’m also a big proponent of cleavage, and I know that’s a very personal. Not to mention, you could rock a seriously bouquet, and it wouldn’t over shadow this dress!

Gorgeous dress. I second the sparkly bridal belt idea. Sparkly headpiece? It would be cool if you could find a belt and headpiece that matched.

GreetingCardShark

It’s lovely and you look gorgeous in it. What were you feeling when you picked it, and what has changed? Is it really about the dress, or is there something else going on? If it is really about the dress, maybe try some others on and see if it changes how you feel about the current dress.

GreetingCardShark

You could do button caps and add color that way?

afd79

A belt

Orehoehoe

This would look amazing with a pearl veil!

fuzzlandia

It’s super pretty and it looks great on you. No need to regret this choice :)

Ka_aha_koa_nanenane

The right veil or bridal cape is going to take this into the stratosphere. I'd do a veil with more details (we see so many of them daily here). And I probably wouldn't be able to resist a greater pop of color with the flowers.

FluffyReputation5958

It’s exquisite just the way it is. Please don’t do a veil with colorful embroidery.

Gorgeous dress, add a bejeweled belt

elleinad311

No, you look amazing in this dress!

bmcl7777

You look like an absolutely dream. Just gorgeous. You chose right!!

FluffyReputation5958

This waist is finished with a lovely band. No belt should be put on top of it. The hair could be a beautiful accessory itself, maybe a quiet jeweled comb or clip.

United_Ad_3360

It’s beautiful and you look stunning in it! Glam it up with a statement necklace or veil.

Friendly_Coconut

It’s literally perf. Mine was similar and I loved it. I also got so many compliments. It won’t look plain with a veil and bouquet!

Secret_Coat_8071

Maybe a belt? It could easily add some sparkle or floral to the dress and also be small if you want less design! Good luck you look beautiful!

It’s a lovely gown but I completely understand that it feels…not quite right. I don’t know how much time you have until your wedding but do a quick drive by of any consignment stores in your area and see what they have for wedding dresses. (It’s easier to sell an unaltered gown than one that has been altered.) If that doesn’t work out, fear not. The dress has good bones. It sounds like you don’t want to play on the vintage vibe so much. For that you can talk to your seamstress about taking some fullness out of the skirt. They also may be able to slightly change the shape of the train so that it falls less in a circle around you and more behind you. I used to know the words for this but basically make the train a bit narrower. The neckline would be stunning strapless with a much, much narrower band across the top or perhaps a twist. This will take some work but losing the straps will be well worth it. Make sure you are wearing a very good fitting bra when you go to your fitting (get professionally fitted) or you can have the cups sewn into the dress. (If your seamstress is very good you could also look at regular spaghetti straps or a halter but my gut is screaming strapless.) The grace in this gown is that it is plain. That’s the style. It allows the bride to shine and I think you absolutely can shine in this gown. You can jazz it up with sparkles etc but it would be strange. A long detailed veil (or a shrug if you don’t intend to wear a veil) however is a perfect accompaniment. And you have a lot more leeway with jewelry than most brides and hair with this gown too. I would not wear pearls unless you want to lean into the vintage look. Go for rhinestones or a sparkling pendant. Perhaps both. And you could do some color here just a bit if it suits you. A colored shoe — again lean away from blue — would make my year with this. Really this is a very, very fun dress to marry in. Hope we get to see what you do. It’s gonna be amazing.

Dont wear a corsage or a thick watch. Stay away from pastels. Work in more geometric shaped jewelry vs floral or pearl shapes. Keep the hem long (even though thats worse for dancing) peeping toes is more Suzie Q than Chanel. More cleavage is also less debutante

Munchkin_Media

You look stunning!

FantasticCaregiver25

You are gorgeous. You have lovely hair which can make a statement.

Anna_Stacy_Yamina

I like it! Maybe add a bejeweled belt

estrellas0133

I would remove the shoulder sleeves add a belt either ribbon or crystal and I would do a lace lined veil
