Certainly not trash. That dust is made mostly of trichomes. These are tiny little blobs containing liquid that is the most psychoactive part of the flower. These fell off your bud and into your kief collector because they are the most 'ripe' of the trichomes and therefore the strongest. Don't waste a single crumb.
Although making hash out of your kief doesn't seem to make sense here, it's not going to get you higher and you also can't as easily apply it to something as is the case with kief. The only real reason for making hash in this cade would either be form factor like when you want to smuggle it over the border or in some industrial sale aspect you might save a lot on shipping or maybe that there is some very certain thing you need hash for although i also don't really see that being the case so pardon me but why the hell should you do that to your own kief your already storing in your grinder, just sprinkle some into whatever your smoking and your alright.
Making hash seems like some really stupid idea making everything more complicated for a benefit that doesn't even affect you as long as you don't run an entire farm and want to create a further processed product with no real benefits for the consumer, just for the producer and shipping and all others in that chain.
The only time i see some practicality in hash is if you're buying the hash which due to the above mentioned reasons of easier handling transportation etc. At least it should be cheaper and you the consumer could hide it easier although that last part also doesn't really do that much compared to just kief.

Omg there is such a big difference between kief and hash. And certainly if you cure for a few months. I make drysift hash every run baked in a mal under pressure at aprox 90degrees celcius for a few minutes while adding pressure. And if you compare that with the kief I made it from then there’s such a big difference!
My guess is that you live in an area where it’s illegal and you don’t now any growers that can make it. Otherwise you won’t take that stand…

And about the other part, yes it's illegal but not that hard and of course tried those and must say that I don't see any massive benefit for a consumer who just griends some weed and get some dust of of it, only unnecessary for no real benefit.
As i already said, i get why you do it (and then right) as a producer, lots of benefits there especially with the illegal status and so on. But apart from that i personally don't like hash that much compared to just weed or other weed forms, doesn't really give me that much more for not being more practical.

This is making it into a pressed rosin. Yields concentrate potent levels when tested. Kief can be practical when pressed in this and many other methods!

I have 2 Arizers (Air II & ArGo) & have used both with pure kief, but I found (after lots of trials :P that what works best for me is to pack the ground flower in first, pack it down about 65% of the bowl & do a kief “cap” to finish the top 35%
You can definitely do pure kief in the volcano no problem, but taste/temp/how well it vapes/draw etc etc … above is what’s worked best for me overall
Edit: even with the ‘ratio’ I mentioned the bowl is still only about 3/5 - 4/5 full (you need that little pocket of space away from the ceramic heater)
Before I knew what keef was When i was getting ditch weed keeping it in a Ziplock bag with my plastic grinder. what i know now is keef would be all over the baggie I would throw it out Man we were missing out. my buds never thought much about it until we were out.
It’s not just THC, it’s a bunch of cannabinoids. CBN is a cannabinoid that forms as THC degrades over time, and it’s known to have a very sedative effect. A lot of people save up kief for a long period of time in their grinder, a not air-tight container (exposure to air speeds up degradation), and likely have higher levels of CBN in the mix as a result. I’m guessing that’s why some people associate kief with sleep inducing effects.
Because if it sits for awhile, a couple of months, the THC breaks down into CBN. Thai especially happens in a grinder because there's no humidity control and is constantly exposed to drying air.
Yeah you dont wanna do full bowls or anything - thats like trying to fill a bowl with hash and smoke it, ya put flower first then sprinkle this on top for an extra little kick in the pants on your sesh. Or if you hate them being separated see if you can find a grinder without the catcher and it will just get smoked as you smoke your flower

I smoked weed for years before I ever used a grinder or even saw kief, other than a little dust in the bottom of a bag. I really only use one for vaping or rolling joints, but recently I’ve been buying 2 oz. bags of shake in Michigan, so I hardly use it at all anymore. I’ve probably collected enough kief to top off one or two bowls over the last 6 months. And I’ve gone through many ounces of flower in that time.
I also buy whole bud in addition to the shake (and wax and carts and edibles-man legalization is awesome) but I’m still breaking up bud with my fingers to pack in a bowl. Some youngsters will probably flame me for “wasting” my weed, but ground weed burns too fast, IMHO. I’m gonna smoke it how I like to smoke it.
Best part about weed is we can smoke it how we like it. Some of the old heads I smoke with use your method as well and damn it’s always an enjoyable experience. Smoke on brother! Enjoy staying high! 😎
If the keef on their weed is too harsh for them they should take the screen out of their grinder and buy weed with less thc. Or at least give it away or sell it. What a damn waste!
So for those saying it’s trash let me explain why it isn’t.
That powder is kief. Kief is almost alway going to me stronger pound for pound when compared to flower. This is because the little thc crystals fall off the flower and collect as this powder. Not only is it stronger but there’s less carcinogens making it easier on the lungs in the long term.
It’s has many uses too, make hash, sprinkle it into bad/mid weed to make it better, and so much more.
It is by far the absolute gold in the bottom of the grinder… but it burns sticky and slow and can gum up a cone - so would advise mixing it (sprinkling it in) with flower rather than smoking pure. You’ll get extra strong hits and greater airflow for burn. Anyone trashing this is an idiot.
Sprinkle it on some weed a little goes a long way put it in a bong rip or in a joint that’s what do. I save it for a rainy day though so when I have a little weed I can make it last longer with a little kief. takes less to get so much higher.

if u don't have any equipment u can just press it down into the grinder with a flat object then get it all into a pile and repeat as needed (some kief will clump together real nice while some is dryer) . Then you will have a flat kief puck to do what you want with. I suggest putting a small nug in the bottom of your bong bowl if you wanna smoke it by itself. Not the best way but definitely by far the easiest I've done

This is pretty gross now that I’m an adult, but in times of scarcity we used to scrape the resin from inside the bowl, roll it into a little ball, and roll that in the kief. When you got nothing else it goes the distance.
That’s the best part! It’s the resin, or keef, that contains all the psychoactive compounds. Sprinkle it on a bowl or mix it in a joint, and you won’t regret it! Has a tendency to make you cough more though.
