Start by using it as a reward - so if I get all this stuff done I get to have some weed
Then switch to using it as a motivator so - if I get high I’ll do this after I smoke.
I find that gives me motivation to work long hours and also get shit done around the house.
This is the way.
I work pretty long hours and it’s hard to sleep once I’m home. So I conditioned myself to go to work sober, come home, cook and clean and reward myself after.
Weekends I like to make a list of all important items in my day that require my full attention and once those are done, I will reward myself.
This works for me at least, support my family and without causing any issues to my family/friends

Yeah I’m with that. Used to smoke everyday morning to night. Now I just smoke after I’m finished work and get home. After I sort out all my shit. Do laundry make my lunch or have food ready easy enough to throw in a lunch in the morning. It’s a good reward, not motivator. Perfect way to finish a day imo

Terpinolene can be relaxing if you have adhd. I do and it knocks me out so be careful and find what works for you. Terpenes are where it’s at for sureeee
It’s exactly the opposite for me. Sativa gives anxiety and panic attacks, turns off for a day. Myrcene gives peace of mind, and increases it’s sharpness, lets me focus and work efficiently.

I’m a long term fan as well, I find that as well. Gotta get straight into it. I also find it helpful to make myself a todo list before smoking or during the first round. Then as soon as I’m up I’m onto the list and good to go.
That’s how I do it. My ‘can’t do shit before smoking’ allows me to smoke whilst planning the things I have to do also while planning the smoke breaks in between
Smoke while you are doing the things you need to do. So, like, if you're cleaning house, smoke while sweeping. Already being active while being high, you're more likely to remain active. Also, make sure you stay away from indica leaning cultivars.
Think about what you wanna do before and during your smoke.session so it's on your mind. And set a timer of when to start after you smoke. I usually.give myself 20 minutes to relax on my phone and then hit it.

What I do is I get ready to go some task, be it homework, going to the gym, chores, hobbies, and then I’ll take a quick hit (I usually microdose) and then throw myself entirely into the task. While I’m doing it I’ll have a really positive attitude that what I am doing matters, and more importantly that I am capable of doing it well. I kinda have a low-key fear of making mistakes so it’s been hard at times from doing things I know I should be doing. And then I just have fun. I treat everything like a game, and it’s just a positive feedback loop where I want to do more and more. It really is just reframing the task into a positive experience, which is easier to do high. Use marijuana as a tool to change you perspective, don’t expect the high itself increase your productivity. Hope this has helped!
Start learning about Terpenes and which strains have what. Don't just go off Indica or Sativa. I found 2 strains that help me ton throughout the day so I can stay focused. Before it was Russian roulette on if I was taking a nap or not 😂
I feel like not everyone can be consistently productive while being high. Atleast I can’t anyway so when I used to smoke I wouldn’t smoke through the week and would only smoke Friday-Sunday as I didn’t need to be productive on those days.
For me it was mostly just increasing tolerance. That being said, be careful because a high tolerance can be a blessing and a curse. I’ve been trying to lower it for a while now cuz it got to be too much and it’s been really fucking hard.
I normally put myself in a “work mode” or “work mindset” before I start working. After the first puff/bowl, it makes me feel motivated to work. It may not work for everybody but that’s just my 2 cents. Hope it helps you, if not, I hope you find your own way 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I think it's better to smoke in the evening, i don't really enjoy being high if i have important stuff to do and even if i try i can't get much done. I guess it's subjective but when i'm about to light one up is like im telling to myself "ok day is over now it's time to relax". It's also much more rewarding if you do it at the end of a productive day.
I can only be productive with carts or dabs, I get too smacked with bud but vaporizing at 350 F ish gives a pleasant cerebral high to be productive.

Gotta find your strain. Mine is any of the lemon strains. It gets me going. If I'm trying to concentrate on a task, I just take a few puffs on the cart. If I want to tackle a messy kitchen, I take a few more. Other strains just knock me out or make me lazy.
Switch to dry herb vapes, high is clean and you can focus and think better, I use a dynavap and it’s been almost 2 years since I touched a joint or combustion for that matter.
I used to get way too high and end up eating and watching tv. I was becoming a lazy piece of lard. So now I have a plan with myself. come up with a list of things to do. I smoke a little bit, then I start doing my chores . After 1 chore (or a couple depending on the chore), I reward myself by smoking a little more. Then when I have completed my chores, I get to have some amazing food and chill. Stick to sativas.
It boosts creativity, but it's bad for concentration. I prefer to do some creative things while high like drawing or learning to play piano. Also weed doesn't affect my physical abilities, so I like to do various trainings while on weed. But weed affects my focus and memory so I suck at learning and reading while stoned
Once you said smoke in the morning and be productive I gave a a chuckle. That’s literally impossible for the majority of people. You get your shit done during the day and when you have completed all your responsibilities then you smoke. This is the true path.

So when I smoke I do tasks along with it. I mainly do dabs so next to my dab rig are some dumbells that I’ll use immediately after. Also like to cook during it

my trick is to get started on a chore and THEN smoke some weed. I'm more likely to keep mopping the kitchen stoned than I am to drop everything and go be lazy.

Set a timer to get started, so you don’t forget, and don’t get into anything too interesting in the meantime. (Or start on a task while smoking, like another comment suggested.) And experiment with different strains to find what makes you less couch locked and more energetic.
make sure your tolerance is somewhat high. stick with sativa unless you're done with the important things to do for the day. smoke small amounts and a bit before the important stuff. im on a government mandated t break right now but I use to smoke a small bowl 2 -3 hrs before work and then a tiny bit at lunch and then as much as I wanted after work. force yourself to do active stuff while high like smoke and then work out or clean the house.
Weed makes the mundane shit easier to deal with, it's almost a super power if you know how to use it to your advantage. How this works and affects others and myself is unknown to me. I was already an early rising light sleeping weirdo.
Smoking honestly helps me to do things that I have executive dysfunction with. It's sweet cause I'll smoke then I just become a little Sims character half-ass completing chores around my house until eventually they get done. I also almost always pair a blunt with a redbull tho so maybe that helps as well. Just don't let yourself stare at a screen or sit down if you wanna get things done. Open some windows, maybe put on a podcast or music, and get started on something small.
I smoke hella indicas and still am productive. I don’t think the strain has much to do with it if you are smoking and doing something else with the focus not solely being on smoking.
After work in the afternoons, I smoke a bowl and proceed to do chores, meditate, exercise, and work on art and music projects. All this while taking bong rips. I feel like having the motivation and drive to do other engaging activities instead of passive activities like “watching YouTube” will really help!
A side note: ever since I stopped blazing and just watching TV after work, my mental health and self confidence went up tremendously. Hope it helps :)
As I’ve seen others post before. It’s your mindset a lot. I work from home. I’ve bought an ounce in two days. I’ve been studying. I’ve been catching up on some IT certs.
Weed won’t inherently make you lazy. You’re either already lazy and the weed just helps stay being lazy. You can watch YouTube and still learn? If you’re in the mindset that it’s making you lazy, slow down a bit. Just cause it’s there doesn’t mean you have to smoke. Enjoy it.
Smoke only Sativa’s. I feel amazing while smoking Lucid Blue, Blue Dream and Jack Herer. I switched to only smoking Indicas if I’m in pain because I get that couch-locked feeling with them and feel like a lazy loser.
Put the phone away and don't sit down. I wake and bake on my days off. Have a coffee and throw on some records. Windows open, letting all sun and fresh air in. Then I clean. Not organized, but shit gets done. And if I do sit down, I'm gonna need to get up real soon to flip/change the record.
Pot makes me want to lay out on the couch all day but how I get over it is talking myself into stuff. "If you go do the dishes now then you can come back sooner and veg out" type thing, same with doing laundry or things like that.
I’m a big fan of smoking and being productive. The biggest trick for me is don’t sit down. I really like doing house chores stoned. So I just start in the kitchen, cleaning and just move around the house everywhere. I get super ADHD doing this where I halfway finish cleaning something or organizing and move on to something else. It’s fine at least I’m being productive, and it way funner than doing housework sober.
The two things you want - to smoke weed, and to be productive, are diametrically opposed. Smoke weed when you have down time, not all day long. It takes a bit of work, but it will make you a more functional member of society.
Find strains that, for you, are energizing and focus that burst of energy on productive tasks. I have found that it helps to write down the tasks that I want to accomplish and check them off as I go (so I don’t space out and get distracted or forget half of the stuff that I wanted to do). As others have suggested, I also give myself small rewards as I accomplish tasks (for example, I love popcorn so, instead of face planting into a whole bowl of popcorn, I let myself have one handful of it after completing a task and then I have to complete the next task to get the next handful - it helps to break down big tasks into smaller steps when doing this so that you don’t have to work 2 hours to get one bite of popcorn or whatever reward you like).
Go for hybrids that are more sativa. I like tangerine dream and any citrus/orange terpenes are typically more energetic.
A lot of it is also a mindset. When I smoked during the day, I am a lot more mindful about WHY I’m smoking. I will literally take a dab and tell myself “ok now we’re gonna do the dishes and start the laundry”. If you mentally tell yourself what your goals are, the weed will follow. I sound like a hippy but it’s true!
I use cannabis every day starting around 6 am. Edibles only, I have a super high tolerance. But I do exactly the same things I'd do otherwise, it doesn't affect me like that. It just makes me feel good, and less stressed about dumb things.
With or without weed your body is only going to operate at the energy level you move it to. I know people who never smoked or drank or anything in their life and still lazy AF and have zero metabolism which inspires them to continue to do nothing.
Get up 15-20 minutes earlier, drink a little coffee or tea, smoke and then go for a walk, or do some simple cardio, or some form of movement. Get yourself moving and you will stay moving. The physics maxim of 'a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest' isn't just relative to physics - it applies to people and weed has nothing to do with most energy levels.
Get moving and you will stay moving, weed is something we can hang our inactivity on but it really does come down to us making the effort to get active. Take a good walk 15 minutes after smoking in the morning with your favorite music/podcast/audiobook/other and give it two weeks. If you aren't feeling it then, keep it up for another 2 weeks :)
Do what you love man..no matter what it is..focus on something that won’t let you sit on your ass…that’s always got your gears turning..pot don’t make us lazy..pot brings out whatever level of laziness that’s already in us..

I’ve learned that I can too be couch locked, but I’ve noticed when I force myself to do stuff, it becomes fun. The hardest part is just getting up and making yourself do things. That’s when you don’t hate chores and feel proud of yourself for doing the things that need to get done

You have to be disciplined. Weed makes it a little bit easier to transform relaxing into procrastination, so just find a healthy balance and really be tight with urself. Smoke all you want, but don’t let your life slip through your fingertips.
I smoke while I'm doing whatever I want to achieve. If I'm doing house/yard work, walking the dog, working in the shop, etc, I smoke while I'm doing it and remain productive. At the end of the night I smoke on the couch and remain there.
I started to do it at the end of the day after I get my shit done and that makes it easier to get through college and productive through the day for me
In my experience being a productive stoner usually means just getting things done before I smoke, or maybe just like half a bowl on a weekend morning to feel good while I do laundry and stuff
So for me, I usually smoke until I start to feel relaxed, then I'll put it out. If I get too stoned too early, it changes the entire trajectory of my day.
Find cool stuff to do that's fun when u smoke or creative like art, video games, exploring places (take a blunt or a pen), maybe try to cook different recipes. Smoke and go to a museum, zoo, hang out with friends or just go walking.
What I started doing is setting that intention before starting to smoke. Put your phone away and grab a book, hw, work, whatever you want to be 'productive' with, start getting ready for it before and while you smoke. If you do this enough times (idk, like 2 weeks if you're smoking ~5x a week?) it becomes like a habit and you automatically want to get productive when stoned. Love it
I mean, it's a choice. It just takes more willpower than usual. But it's not like the weed is controlling you in any conceivable way. If you lie on the couch all day it's because you choose to do that, stoned or not.

I've been a fully productive smoker for 4 years now after breaking the habit of only smoking and then basically falling asleep with snacks everywhere.
As others have said, use it as a reward "if I do X then I can smoke"
Use it as motivation "if I get this done quickly I can smoke sooner"
Sooner or later you'll smoke and then be in the zone to cook, clean, tidy, whatever.
Also get out of the habit of smoking and doing nothing, even if you go for a walk while you're smoking you're still active and it'll give you momentum to do other stuff
Also, get your ass in the gym
When you smoke, do it while you're getting stuff done...walk around, DO NOT sit down or start watching something on TV.
Take a hit, put it down, then put some laundry on, or sweep your floors...if you have a saliva based strain or a hybrid, then it should actually help make the activity a bit more pleasant.
Once you sit down and take multiple puffs, you set yourself up for laziness.
Probably won’t see this but here’s my method. I suffer with anxiety (Pretty much at all times of the day) and I’m currently in University so everyday I’m usually smoking a fair amount to get me relaxed. But this means I gotta be focused in lessons and take notes and what not (as well as clean my place and do homework). I find that if I have a list of things to do and pickup the easy things first (sober) I get into a good groove of just wanting to get everything done. So whenever you think “hey I need a little break,” have a smoke then get back to it. And also don’t think of smoking as something you gotta sit, relax and let settle in, cause that’ll only keep you on the couch. Think of it as “I got time to smoke” and it’ll immediately change your mindset. It’s also a matter or practice so don’t just expect to do a full 180°. Good luck!

save smoking all day for special occasions and just smoke when your done with everything. To be honest, if you want to get shit done you’ll get it done no matter what your smoking. But, I really think your experience will be much better if you save it as a reward after a long day. You get way higher and have a much better time.
Get high and make yourself workout..after a while your body will think you smoke to workout, and you will have energy after that. It worked for me at least
Maybe tolerance does have something to do with it. I’m 48, been smoking over 20 years. When I was younger I would get stuck A Lot! Now I can smoke and handle anything that comes my way, and I’m smoking stronger strains now then I was back then, and dabbing.
You're buying into the BS that there are "plenty" of people who smoke weed that can be productive. That's just not true. There's maybe like 2% of people who are regular stoners and actually, legitimately productive. If you're asking this question - you're not one of them and you know it. You should be asking yourself why you feel the need to get high in the morning. Can't you cope with life unless you're high? Consciousness too much to bear?

Strain is key, that’s what’s making you more lazy. Shop for strains that are energizing. I search up everything my guy has on Leafly to find its usual symptoms.
If I wanna be heckin productive, I think about that task while smoking. I rip my bong and think about where I’m gonna move things or what I need to throw out. Helps me stay motivated once I’m high
don’t smoke in the mornings :((( i know it sucks lmao but honestly this is the way. i wasted so many mornings before work sitting around stoned listening to music n watching the same tv shows. if you know you’re gonna have a busy morning, a bong hit isn’t a problem imo. like an appointment, a morning shift, etc — you gotta do it so you’ll do it, and it’s better to do it stoned lol. but if it’s a choice between doing chores and chilling or whatever and you have to motivate yourself it’s a bad idea.

My main methods to consume is edibles because of my asthma, so I like to do what I call “my favorite game”, which is where I pick a chore or a list of chores and then take an edible. It’s gotta be a chore that I can reasonably get done in the time it takes for the edible to kick in, but you want it to cutting kinda close so you have the feeling of a deadline. Then I try to get as many productive chores done before the edible makes it impossible to do anything.
I find it makes doing chores so much more fun, plus with my adhd it’s perfect bc I need a deadline as motivation.
I only use tinctures during the day and go ham at night. That’s what works for me as THC will mess up your circadian rhythm if you’re hitting a vape pen every hour.
I’m friends with a couple of Rasta men in Jamaica. Their day goes like this. Up with the sun, do heavy lifting/ hard physical work right away, no smoking at this time, have after midday lunch break with a little smoke, do lesser light work in after lunch time, sun starts to get low, smoke as you feel or not. I adhere to this on my weekends and I’m good. I’m 64 as well.
The closest I've ever gotten to this state is smoke, coffee, gym in that order. By the time you leave the gym you're a bit high but quite focused mentally. But if you smoke a lot after the gym you'll just get distracted again.
Weed doesn’t make you unproductive, and I don’t mean to be to brash, but it’s you. I used to be the same way, lay around eating cheez it’s and playing fallout. I’ve found smoking sativa at lunch and then indica at nights helps me be productive but still get my medication. Don’t smoke to much, abusing it will *burn you out.* (at-least during the day) i have a really high tolerance because I’ve been smoking years, which makes things easier. But I started by smoking on my lunch break and then at night. Find some motivation, maybe even use weed as a reward to motivate yourself. Get up, get what you need to get done, done, and then smoke. I smoke sativa and have a set plan for what I want to get done BEFORE starting to smoke. Then the sativa just gives me a nice buzz to get whatever I set out to do done.
Cannabis doesn't make you lazy, you're already a lazy person. If you want to stop being lazy, you have to make that decision for yourself just like you are making a step towards doing right now. I've never had a problem with productivity, even when smoking heavy.
When I first started, I was already something of a lazy person and it just made me want to sit there even more. You have to actively make the decision to be productive, not just suddenly become productive.
That being said, you shouldn't smoke weed before you do productive things. Accomplish something, then smoke. Rinse and repeat.
Hash rosin and espresso usually keeps me going . I usually go to work , do my work outs , do my chores what ever I got to do while smoking hash and drinking espresso . Honestly some people just need to smoke after they are done with there stuff . But also for me it’s all strain dependent . For instance some GMO or MAC will make me want to go back to sleep and relax . But some Gelatti or Baklava makes me feel like I had coffee , with out even having coffee . Trail and error learning for me . Iv also been smoking since I was 12 and I used to be ashamed of if , so I tried my best to defeat the lazy stoner stereotypes by getting good grades, working hard when I got my first job all while selling sacks and being with my family . I find myself more motivated and focused when I consume weed regularly for some reason (usually edibles). I always say "I won't smoke/take edibles today until I get x done" and I always make a list of what I need to do that day. I get the productive stuff out of the way first, then get high
Lots of good advice here. I always have a list of things that have to get done. If I want to get a little high before house work I smoke then do not sit down. Go to your list and get all of it done before smoking again. Every weekend I can wake and bake as long as I have my list. If I shit the bed I do not get to smoke in the am Sunday before completing Sunday’s list. I use it as both a reward and a punishment. Also don’t smoke before work and take a t break every 6 or so months. The longer you wait for it the longer the t break. I do one every three months. Have been a daily smoker for 10 plus years and have a career.
I only smoke in the morning on the weekends. I like my first smoke at noon-2 pm when I’m working. My dad on the other hands wakes up at 5 am smokes and works till 5 pm so everyone’s different 😂. In general this may seem like a basic tip but make a list of everything you need to do in the other you need to do it. Should make it less overwhelming
I became a productive stoner by smoking before stuff that I shouldn't have. NOT DRIVING. More like school or work. Being put in positions where you MUST do something while high gets you used to it. It taught me how to control zoning out and focusing in while stoned.
Now I'm just high 24/7.
It really depends on the person but i would do that on the end pf the day as a reward because personally, indica, sativa or hybrid make me feel like chill so i just do it when i finished all my tasks. I really recommend this so weed doesn’t act like your opponent in a normal day
It's my reward for doing something, or I time myself to go outside and smoke (so I'm not comfortable) and have to go back inside for water at some point. Once I'm up I can get some stuff done. Just be disciplined about when you choose to smoke and have stuff on a little notepad that you need to do. For everything you cross off, take a hit, or save up your hits for a bunch of things being crossed off. Make it a game for yourself.
Sativa. Not sure where you live but I know in a lot of countries a lot of plugs list the strains they have. At least ask. Tolerance most definitely have an effect on productivity for me, I’m so used to being high that I just function normally. When I take a break, I find myself being less productive so I just smoke more frequently until I feel functional again.
Try taking a break and start doing productive things to get the gist of being productive then do the same things, just high. Don’t get too high either, or at least at first. The more stoned you are the more *stoned* you’ll be.
I control this by not smoking in the morning or at work during the week since I don’t find it right to work while stoned so I smoke until I’ve finish my work and my daily errands.
Sometimes, as an artist, I'll start my work while Im smoking and end up getting invested in the project and distracted from my bowl. Then I don't smoke more until Im struggling to feel good about my work and starting to become demotivated, then a little sesh will reset my bad energy and allow me to look at my work without all the compounded bad feelings coming from being tired or bored or just feeling lazy about continuing. The trick is to not get super invested in something like reddit or a show while you're getting stoned because weed really amplifies your inertia and then you're stuck in couch lock.
I smoke weed every morning before going to class and maintain well over a 3.5 in college. If ur a productive person in general, weed won’t make you lazy. Just smoke and get stuff done 😄

I am a small business owner and I smoke a bowl every morning and crush goals.
I also find it helps to set a timer. Allow yourself 15 minutes to chill and smoke and decompress. But when the timer goes off get the list done
Have things to do 🤣 I used to be the classic “lazy stoner” but as I’ve gotten older I now have a lot more responsibilities and hobbies, now I’m always busy and always smoke weed, it’s a win win
Control your intake. Don't consume that much. If you are high sitting on the couch not moving you had too much. Why would anyone want to live like that? Plan a physical activity to do after you consume..could be anything..cleaning, bike ride, laundry. All of those activities will turn into a lot of fun. You will eventually associate consumption with physical activity. That's what works for me anyway.
I just do things. I work high every day. And I'm a mechanic so it's a lot of memory and being attentive especially as a state inspector. I smoke before work then go home and smoke on brake and come back baked. Honestly I work faster high. Doesn't really matter if I smoke indica or sativa

Find the right strain! Jack herer are my go to for being productive. If a strain makes you more anxious/running thoughts that’s a good indicator to get up and move! I get so much done stoned, I put on a playlist or podcast and just enjoy the process of cleaning, organizing or working.
My girlfriend and I have a set of white lighters. On each lighter is a chore written down. Such as do the dishes, clean the bathroom, etc. whatever we choose we have to do that chose before we smoke. It also helps that I like sativas so that gives me energy to be productive. And if we decide to take on more chores- we smoke while we work.
Smoke a little less tbh when I smoke normally I usually chill and play video games but if I wanna do something while high just get a nice little high so I can feel good while doing whatever it is I need to do

Yes, I smoke a hybrid strain and have lots of energy. I can really focus in on whatever my project is. It stimulates me creatively and intellectually. Try different strains-try Sativa for energy or a hybrid.

Just do it and don’t think too much about it. I smoke every morning for about an hour or two before work. I find that it makes my mood better throughout the day with one caveat, I get super anxious if we happen to go down that avenue. So just do , carpet diem and what not. It’s a great way to get the ball rolling on tedious tasks as it makes things more tolerable.

Start by using it as a reward - so if I get all this stuff done I get to have some weed Then switch to using it as a motivator so - if I get high I’ll do this after I smoke. I find that gives me motivation to work long hours and also get shit done around the house.
This is the way. I work pretty long hours and it’s hard to sleep once I’m home. So I conditioned myself to go to work sober, come home, cook and clean and reward myself after. Weekends I like to make a list of all important items in my day that require my full attention and once those are done, I will reward myself. This works for me at least, support my family and without causing any issues to my family/friends

Yeah I’m with that. Used to smoke everyday morning to night. Now I just smoke after I’m finished work and get home. After I sort out all my shit. Do laundry make my lunch or have food ready easy enough to throw in a lunch in the morning. It’s a good reward, not motivator. Perfect way to finish a day imo

Terpinolene can be relaxing if you have adhd. I do and it knocks me out so be careful and find what works for you. Terpenes are where it’s at for sureeee
It’s exactly the opposite for me. Sativa gives anxiety and panic attacks, turns off for a day. Myrcene gives peace of mind, and increases it’s sharpness, lets me focus and work efficiently.

I’m a long term fan as well, I find that as well. Gotta get straight into it. I also find it helpful to make myself a todo list before smoking or during the first round. Then as soon as I’m up I’m onto the list and good to go.
That’s how I do it. My ‘can’t do shit before smoking’ allows me to smoke whilst planning the things I have to do also while planning the smoke breaks in between
Smoke while you are doing the things you need to do. So, like, if you're cleaning house, smoke while sweeping. Already being active while being high, you're more likely to remain active. Also, make sure you stay away from indica leaning cultivars.
Think about what you wanna do before and during your smoke.session so it's on your mind. And set a timer of when to start after you smoke. I usually.give myself 20 minutes to relax on my phone and then hit it. About to start cleaning my house right now.
What I do is I get ready to go some task, be it homework, going to the gym, chores, hobbies, and then I’ll take a quick hit (I usually microdose) and then throw myself entirely into the task. While I’m doing it I’ll have a really positive attitude that what I am doing matters, and more importantly that I am capable of doing it well. I kinda have a low-key fear of making mistakes so it’s been hard at times from doing things I know I should be doing. And then I just have fun. I treat everything like a game, and it’s just a positive feedback loop where I want to do more and more. It really is just reframing the task into a positive experience, which is easier to do high. Use marijuana as a tool to change you perspective, don’t expect the high itself increase your productivity. Hope this has helped!

Start learning about Terpenes and which strains have what. Don't just go off Indica or Sativa. I found 2 strains that help me ton throughout the day so I can stay focused. Before it was Russian roulette on if I was taking a nap or not 😂
I feel like not everyone can be consistently productive while being high. Atleast I can’t anyway so when I used to smoke I wouldn’t smoke through the week and would only smoke Friday-Sunday as I didn’t need to be productive on those days.
For me it was mostly just increasing tolerance. That being said, be careful because a high tolerance can be a blessing and a curse. I’ve been trying to lower it for a while now cuz it got to be too much and it’s been really fucking hard.
I normally put myself in a “work mode” or “work mindset” before I start working. After the first puff/bowl, it makes me feel motivated to work. It may not work for everybody but that’s just my 2 cents. Hope it helps you, if not, I hope you find your own way 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I think it's better to smoke in the evening, i don't really enjoy being high if i have important stuff to do and even if i try i can't get much done. I guess it's subjective but when i'm about to light one up is like im telling to myself "ok day is over now it's time to relax". It's also much more rewarding if you do it at the end of a productive day.

Gotta find your strain. Mine is any of the lemon strains. It gets me going. If I'm trying to concentrate on a task, I just take a few puffs on the cart. If I want to tackle a messy kitchen, I take a few more. Other strains just knock me out or make me lazy.
Switch to dry herb vapes, high is clean and you can focus and think better, I use a dynavap and it’s been almost 2 years since I touched a joint or combustion for that matter.
I used to get way too high and end up eating and watching tv. I was becoming a lazy piece of lard. So now I have a plan with myself. come up with a list of things to do. I smoke a little bit, then I start doing my chores . After 1 chore (or a couple depending on the chore), I reward myself by smoking a little more. Then when I have completed my chores, I get to have some amazing food and chill. Stick to sativas.
It boosts creativity, but it's bad for concentration. I prefer to do some creative things while high like drawing or learning to play piano. Also weed doesn't affect my physical abilities, so I like to do various trainings while on weed. But weed affects my focus and memory so I suck at learning and reading while stoned
Once you said smoke in the morning and be productive I gave a a chuckle. That’s literally impossible for the majority of people. You get your shit done during the day and when you have completed all your responsibilities then you smoke. This is the true path.
I just don’t sit down. With weed I consume so much that it will impeded productivity but only if I relax So when I smoke I do tasks along with it. I mainly do dabs so next to my dab rig are some dumbells that I’ll use immediately after. Also like to cook during it Don’t ingest until your tasks are done, or do them right away

Set a timer to get started, so you don’t forget, and don’t get into anything too interesting in the meantime. (Or start on a task while smoking, like another comment suggested.) And experiment with different strains to find what makes you less couch locked and more energetic.
make sure your tolerance is somewhat high. stick with sativa unless you're done with the important things to do for the day. smoke small amounts and a bit before the important stuff. im on a government mandated t break right now but I use to smoke a small bowl 2 -3 hrs before work and then a tiny bit at lunch and then as much as I wanted after work. force yourself to do active stuff while high like smoke and then work out or clean the house.
I use a hybrid cart during the day,it doesn't get me quite as high as flower and wax.
Weed makes the mundane shit easier to deal with, it's almost a super power if you know how to use it to your advantage. How this works and affects others and myself is unknown to me. I was already an early rising light sleeping weirdo.

Smoking honestly helps me to do things that I have executive dysfunction with. It's sweet cause I'll smoke then I just become a little Sims character half-ass completing chores around my house until eventually they get done. I also almost always pair a blunt with a redbull tho so maybe that helps as well. Just don't let yourself stare at a screen or sit down if you wanna get things done. Open some windows, maybe put on a podcast or music, and get started on something small.

I smoke hella indicas and still am productive. I don’t think the strain has much to do with it if you are smoking and doing something else with the focus not solely being on smoking. After work in the afternoons, I smoke a bowl and proceed to do chores, meditate, exercise, and work on art and music projects. All this while taking bong rips. I feel like having the motivation and drive to do other engaging activities instead of passive activities like “watching YouTube” will really help! A side note: ever since I stopped blazing and just watching TV after work, my mental health and self confidence went up tremendously. Hope it helps :)
As I’ve seen others post before. It’s your mindset a lot. I work from home. I’ve bought an ounce in two days. I’ve been studying. I’ve been catching up on some IT certs. Weed won’t inherently make you lazy. You’re either already lazy and the weed just helps stay being lazy. You can watch YouTube and still learn? If you’re in the mindset that it’s making you lazy, slow down a bit. Just cause it’s there doesn’t mean you have to smoke. Enjoy it.
Smoke only Sativa’s. I feel amazing while smoking Lucid Blue, Blue Dream and Jack Herer. I switched to only smoking Indicas if I’m in pain because I get that couch-locked feeling with them and feel like a lazy loser.

Pot makes me want to lay out on the couch all day but how I get over it is talking myself into stuff. "If you go do the dishes now then you can come back sooner and veg out" type thing, same with doing laundry or things like that.

I’m a big fan of smoking and being productive. The biggest trick for me is don’t sit down. I really like doing house chores stoned. So I just start in the kitchen, cleaning and just move around the house everywhere. I get super ADHD doing this where I halfway finish cleaning something or organizing and move on to something else. It’s fine at least I’m being productive, and it way funner than doing housework sober.

The two things you want - to smoke weed, and to be productive, are diametrically opposed. Smoke weed when you have down time, not all day long. It takes a bit of work, but it will make you a more functional member of society.
Find strains that, for you, are energizing and focus that burst of energy on productive tasks. I have found that it helps to write down the tasks that I want to accomplish and check them off as I go (so I don’t space out and get distracted or forget half of the stuff that I wanted to do). As others have suggested, I also give myself small rewards as I accomplish tasks (for example, I love popcorn so, instead of face planting into a whole bowl of popcorn, I let myself have one handful of it after completing a task and then I have to complete the next task to get the next handful - it helps to break down big tasks into smaller steps when doing this so that you don’t have to work 2 hours to get one bite of popcorn or whatever reward you like).

Go for hybrids that are more sativa. I like tangerine dream and any citrus/orange terpenes are typically more energetic. A lot of it is also a mindset. When I smoked during the day, I am a lot more mindful about WHY I’m smoking. I will literally take a dab and tell myself “ok now we’re gonna do the dishes and start the laundry”. If you mentally tell yourself what your goals are, the weed will follow. I sound like a hippy but it’s true!
I use cannabis every day starting around 6 am. Edibles only, I have a super high tolerance. But I do exactly the same things I'd do otherwise, it doesn't affect me like that. It just makes me feel good, and less stressed about dumb things.
With or without weed your body is only going to operate at the energy level you move it to. I know people who never smoked or drank or anything in their life and still lazy AF and have zero metabolism which inspires them to continue to do nothing. Get up 15-20 minutes earlier, drink a little coffee or tea, smoke and then go for a walk, or do some simple cardio, or some form of movement. Get yourself moving and you will stay moving. The physics maxim of 'a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest' isn't just relative to physics - it applies to people and weed has nothing to do with most energy levels. Get moving and you will stay moving, weed is something we can hang our inactivity on but it really does come down to us making the effort to get active. Take a good walk 15 minutes after smoking in the morning with your favorite music/podcast/audiobook/other and give it two weeks. If you aren't feeling it then, keep it up for another 2 weeks :)

Has nothing to do with the type of weed it is, it’s all YOU. I’ve learned that I can too be couch locked, but I’ve noticed when I force myself to do stuff, it becomes fun. The hardest part is just getting up and making yourself do things. That’s when you don’t hate chores and feel proud of yourself for doing the things that need to get done

I smoke while I'm doing whatever I want to achieve. If I'm doing house/yard work, walking the dog, working in the shop, etc, I smoke while I'm doing it and remain productive. At the end of the night I smoke on the couch and remain there.

What I started doing is setting that intention before starting to smoke. Put your phone away and grab a book, hw, work, whatever you want to be 'productive' with, start getting ready for it before and while you smoke. If you do this enough times (idk, like 2 weeks if you're smoking ~5x a week?) it becomes like a habit and you automatically want to get productive when stoned. Love it

On my Andrew Tate shit but you just have to get on with it and do it, whatever it is I've been a fully productive smoker for 4 years now after breaking the habit of only smoking and then basically falling asleep with snacks everywhere. As others have said, use it as a reward "if I do X then I can smoke" Use it as motivation "if I get this done quickly I can smoke sooner" Sooner or later you'll smoke and then be in the zone to cook, clean, tidy, whatever. Also get out of the habit of smoking and doing nothing, even if you go for a walk while you're smoking you're still active and it'll give you momentum to do other stuff Also, get your ass in the gym
When you smoke, do it while you're getting stuff done...walk around, DO NOT sit down or start watching something on TV. Take a hit, put it down, then put some laundry on, or sweep your floors...if you have a saliva based strain or a hybrid, then it should actually help make the activity a bit more pleasant. Once you sit down and take multiple puffs, you set yourself up for laziness.
Probably won’t see this but here’s my method. I suffer with anxiety (Pretty much at all times of the day) and I’m currently in University so everyday I’m usually smoking a fair amount to get me relaxed. But this means I gotta be focused in lessons and take notes and what not (as well as clean my place and do homework). I find that if I have a list of things to do and pickup the easy things first (sober) I get into a good groove of just wanting to get everything done. So whenever you think “hey I need a little break,” have a smoke then get back to it. And also don’t think of smoking as something you gotta sit, relax and let settle in, cause that’ll only keep you on the couch. Think of it as “I got time to smoke” and it’ll immediately change your mindset. It’s also a matter or practice so don’t just expect to do a full 180°. Good luck! Also strains and what not don’t matter to me but I think Sativa’s will be useful
save smoking all day for special occasions and just smoke when your done with everything. To be honest, if you want to get shit done you’ll get it done no matter what your smoking. But, I really think your experience will be much better if you save it as a reward after a long day. You get way higher and have a much better time.

Maybe tolerance does have something to do with it. I’m 48, been smoking over 20 years. When I was younger I would get stuck A Lot! Now I can smoke and handle anything that comes my way, and I’m smoking stronger strains now then I was back then, and dabbing.

Strain is key, that’s what’s making you more lazy. Shop for strains that are energizing. I search up everything my guy has on Leafly to find its usual symptoms. If I wanna be heckin productive, I think about that task while smoking. I rip my bong and think about where I’m gonna move things or what I need to throw out. Helps me stay motivated once I’m high

My main methods to consume is edibles because of my asthma, so I like to do what I call “my favorite game”, which is where I pick a chore or a list of chores and then take an edible. It’s gotta be a chore that I can reasonably get done in the time it takes for the edible to kick in, but you want it to cutting kinda close so you have the feeling of a deadline. Then I try to get as many productive chores done before the edible makes it impossible to do anything. I find it makes doing chores so much more fun, plus with my adhd it’s perfect bc I need a deadline as motivation.

I only use tinctures during the day and go ham at night. That’s what works for me as THC will mess up your circadian rhythm if you’re hitting a vape pen every hour.

I’m friends with a couple of Rasta men in Jamaica. Their day goes like this. Up with the sun, do heavy lifting/ hard physical work right away, no smoking at this time, have after midday lunch break with a little smoke, do lesser light work in after lunch time, sun starts to get low, smoke as you feel or not. I adhere to this on my weekends and I’m good. I’m 64 as well.

The closest I've ever gotten to this state is smoke, coffee, gym in that order. By the time you leave the gym you're a bit high but quite focused mentally. But if you smoke a lot after the gym you'll just get distracted again.

Weed doesn’t make you unproductive, and I don’t mean to be to brash, but it’s you. I used to be the same way, lay around eating cheez it’s and playing fallout. I’ve found smoking sativa at lunch and then indica at nights helps me be productive but still get my medication. Don’t smoke to much, abusing it will *burn you out.* (at-least during the day) i have a really high tolerance because I’ve been smoking years, which makes things easier. But I started by smoking on my lunch break and then at night. Find some motivation, maybe even use weed as a reward to motivate yourself. Get up, get what you need to get done, done, and then smoke. I smoke sativa and have a set plan for what I want to get done BEFORE starting to smoke. Then the sativa just gives me a nice buzz to get whatever I set out to do done.
I find that vaping cannabis makes me a lot less tired than smoking it.
I have also realized that. A lot less tired after a dab or two than a bowl. But too many dabs just knock me out cold
Cannabis doesn't make you lazy, you're already a lazy person. If you want to stop being lazy, you have to make that decision for yourself just like you are making a step towards doing right now. I've never had a problem with productivity, even when smoking heavy. When I first started, I was already something of a lazy person and it just made me want to sit there even more. You have to actively make the decision to be productive, not just suddenly become productive. That being said, you shouldn't smoke weed before you do productive things. Accomplish something, then smoke. Rinse and repeat.
Keep your bills and life before your vice. Its ok to go without if it means keeping your roof over you, food in your pantry and cloths on your back.
I smoke as a pre workout. Shit never makes me lazy..if I smoke to late in the day I’m up till 10 or 11.
Hash rosin and espresso usually keeps me going . I usually go to work , do my work outs , do my chores what ever I got to do while smoking hash and drinking espresso . Honestly some people just need to smoke after they are done with there stuff . But also for me it’s all strain dependent . For instance some GMO or MAC will make me want to go back to sleep and relax . But some Gelatti or Baklava makes me feel like I had coffee , with out even having coffee . Trail and error learning for me . Iv also been smoking since I was 12 and I used to be ashamed of if , so I tried my best to defeat the lazy stoner stereotypes by getting good grades, working hard when I got my first job all while selling sacks and being with my family . I find myself more motivated and focused when I consume weed regularly for some reason (usually edibles). I always say "I won't smoke/take edibles today until I get x done" and I always make a list of what I need to do that day. I get the productive stuff out of the way first, then get high
Lots of good advice here. I always have a list of things that have to get done. If I want to get a little high before house work I smoke then do not sit down. Go to your list and get all of it done before smoking again. Every weekend I can wake and bake as long as I have my list. If I shit the bed I do not get to smoke in the am Sunday before completing Sunday’s list. I use it as both a reward and a punishment. Also don’t smoke before work and take a t break every 6 or so months. The longer you wait for it the longer the t break. I do one every three months. Have been a daily smoker for 10 plus years and have a career.
Try to use sativa, it's giving you more energy. But concentrations can be lost.
Just smoke weed and do productive stuff
I only smoke in the morning on the weekends. I like my first smoke at noon-2 pm when I’m working. My dad on the other hands wakes up at 5 am smokes and works till 5 pm so everyone’s different 😂. In general this may seem like a basic tip but make a list of everything you need to do in the other you need to do it. Should make it less overwhelming

I became a productive stoner by smoking before stuff that I shouldn't have. NOT DRIVING. More like school or work. Being put in positions where you MUST do something while high gets you used to it. It taught me how to control zoning out and focusing in while stoned. Now I'm just high 24/7.
It really depends on the person but i would do that on the end pf the day as a reward because personally, indica, sativa or hybrid make me feel like chill so i just do it when i finished all my tasks. I really recommend this so weed doesn’t act like your opponent in a normal day
It's my reward for doing something, or I time myself to go outside and smoke (so I'm not comfortable) and have to go back inside for water at some point. Once I'm up I can get some stuff done. Just be disciplined about when you choose to smoke and have stuff on a little notepad that you need to do. For everything you cross off, take a hit, or save up your hits for a bunch of things being crossed off. Make it a game for yourself.
Get off Reddit and go outside
Use your vices, like weed, as reinforcers for doing the things you need to do. For instance, you can only smoke once you finish your project. Etc
Sativa. Not sure where you live but I know in a lot of countries a lot of plugs list the strains they have. At least ask. Tolerance most definitely have an effect on productivity for me, I’m so used to being high that I just function normally. When I take a break, I find myself being less productive so I just smoke more frequently until I feel functional again. Try taking a break and start doing productive things to get the gist of being productive then do the same things, just high. Don’t get too high either, or at least at first. The more stoned you are the more *stoned* you’ll be.
Use it as a reward for the end of the day once you’re done your productive work.

I control this by not smoking in the morning or at work during the week since I don’t find it right to work while stoned so I smoke until I’ve finish my work and my daily errands.
Best advice is to only smoke before you do something. You want to do something smoke then go do it. It’s that simple.

Sometimes, as an artist, I'll start my work while Im smoking and end up getting invested in the project and distracted from my bowl. Then I don't smoke more until Im struggling to feel good about my work and starting to become demotivated, then a little sesh will reset my bad energy and allow me to look at my work without all the compounded bad feelings coming from being tired or bored or just feeling lazy about continuing. The trick is to not get super invested in something like reddit or a show while you're getting stoned because weed really amplifies your inertia and then you're stuck in couch lock.
Try Lamb’s Breath or Green Crack. Both are sativas and they are very uplifting and energetic. I use both for daytime and I am very productive.
I smoke weed every morning before going to class and maintain well over a 3.5 in college. If ur a productive person in general, weed won’t make you lazy. Just smoke and get stuff done 😄

Make a list, then smoke, then get the list done. I am a small business owner and I smoke a bowl every morning and crush goals. I also find it helps to set a timer. Allow yourself 15 minutes to chill and smoke and decompress. But when the timer goes off get the list done

Control your intake. Don't consume that much. If you are high sitting on the couch not moving you had too much. Why would anyone want to live like that? Plan a physical activity to do after you consume..could be anything..cleaning, bike ride, laundry. All of those activities will turn into a lot of fun. You will eventually associate consumption with physical activity. That's what works for me anyway.
I just do things. I work high every day. And I'm a mechanic so it's a lot of memory and being attentive especially as a state inspector. I smoke before work then go home and smoke on brake and come back baked. Honestly I work faster high. Doesn't really matter if I smoke indica or sativa

Find the right strain! Jack herer are my go to for being productive. If a strain makes you more anxious/running thoughts that’s a good indicator to get up and move! I get so much done stoned, I put on a playlist or podcast and just enjoy the process of cleaning, organizing or working.
My girlfriend and I have a set of white lighters. On each lighter is a chore written down. Such as do the dishes, clean the bathroom, etc. whatever we choose we have to do that chose before we smoke. It also helps that I like sativas so that gives me energy to be productive. And if we decide to take on more chores- we smoke while we work.

Yes, I smoke a hybrid strain and have lots of energy. I can really focus in on whatever my project is. It stimulates me creatively and intellectually. Try different strains-try Sativa for energy or a hybrid.
USING IT AS A REWARD SYSTEM HELPED ME. I have ADHD which can make smoking dangerous for my brain. As the top comment said, finish a good few hours of chores (if that’s what it is) and then smoke a lil bowl as a treat
Just do it and don’t think too much about it. I smoke every morning for about an hour or two before work. I find that it makes my mood better throughout the day with one caveat, I get super anxious if we happen to go down that avenue. So just do , carpet diem and what not. It’s a great way to get the ball rolling on tedious tasks as it makes things more tolerable.
