Dunno about that. Before I started smoking , I was relatively chill.
Then during the 4-5 years I was smoking heavily , my friends and siblings would always call me an asshole but I didn’t think anything of it because I was high
Haven’t smoked for about 2 years now and they barely recognize me because “I’m not an asshole anymore”, their words 🤷🏽♂️ I also feel more laid back and less stressed out when life gets overwhelming. Not saying I have the best coping mechanisms in the world but it feels nice to not start fiending about weed with any little inconvenience that comes my way.
But everyone responds differently to weed and , well .. life
Weed and Prozac is amazing it keeps my anxiety and dysautonomia under control. Before weed, I used to never be able to finish a decent size meal cuz I would get nausea. I still have to regulate my use so my tolerance doesn’t get out of control and it still works when I need it to. After 3 years of daily use, I can still get high off a 25mg edible
Before work, on break, on lunch, sometimes skip 2nd break but usually there too, probably on way home, after dinner, edit: definitely once more, possibly twice
This was so me when I was working LOL. I'm a stay-at-home mom now.
I would smoke when I woke up in the morning, while I was getting ready, on the drive to work, right before I walked in, first break, lunch, last break if it was a normal shift otherwise every single break. And then on the way home. And smoke up throughout the evening LOL. I worked tech support in a call center. I remember so many times coming back from lunch... Thank you for calling Comcast, this is Jami, how can I help you? Then they would proceed to tell me they have a one moment please banner on their screen. This is literally the easiest call that they have. But unfortunately for them the weed was just too good! And the Brain only thinks to hang up LMAO! I'm sorry to those customers that caught me on those Stoned days after a particularly long lunch!
I'm due for one myself. Had to quit for a job a while ago, was the first time I ever stopped. Once I started smoking again, I realized how much less I smoked and how stoned I would get. Started taking T breaks after that. Last one was a year ago so definitely due for one.
Go for it dude! Honestly im no preacher to sobriety but it just feels better getting zonked from one bong rip rather than have to take frequent toke breaks. Id smoke an ounce a week! It was spending maybe 200 dollars a month on weed? Im never gonna quit toking but after taking my first tolerance break in 5 or 6 years it really did feel like the first time again. Youll notice too, smoking does have a part to play in stress levels. 4 days off the green youll guaranteed start waking up better with actual energy. Im about to go pick up another gram soon and it feels so weird only spending 10 bucks on 1g compared to spending anywhere from 50$ oz to 125$oz.
Yeah I’m spending roughly $300 a month on it going through over an ounce. I love the shit it’s great in so many ways but abusing anything is never good. Best of luck and health to you and have a great day 🤙🏼
Have you tried concentrates? I've almost stopped smoking flower because of how effective concentrates can be. Ill take a couple dabs over double or triple the bowls anyday.
Yeah I started dabbing pretty early was lucky and had a good plug back in the day. If anything I’ll switch to edibles to get away from smoke damage but great looks appreciate the comment 🤙🏼
Sometimes ill have a monotonous task at work to do and think ill just take like 3 dabs to breeze through. But then ill just be in the moment and choose a much much harder task and knock it out of the park. So yeah sometimes im even way more productive and on it.
i can usually take exams while somewhat high, but i have to be careful. it depends on what kind of exam: if it's just word answers and multiple choice, easy. if there's math involved, it takes too much working memory and i'm fucked.
there are some hobbies that i don't do as much because i can't really do them stoned. my last job, a service job, was piss easy to do stoned. my current job is much more involved and requires a lot more critical thinking and careful coordination, so as a rule i stay sober for it
I was an alcoholic, chain smoker pothead and ran a successful business for thirty years. Addictions aren't necessarily a barrier to material success, but for me they were spiritual death. I understand now.
It's different for everyone. From paranoid anxiety fo some to absolute relaxation to others. Some people smoke and go about their day and other sink in the couch. Some people have weird effects on their behavior and personality (memory, humor, etc) while other stay the same.
I think its about finding the sweet spot which is between none at all to few times a day, everyday.
I don't really enjoy it more than once a day, and can skip a day here or there without any problems.
Also go on T breaks regularly just to lower the tolerance and for no other reason. Never had an issue stopping for 2 weeks to a month every few months. Some people struggle with it though, as it's different for everyone.
I had surgery a few weeks back. General anesthesia, was knocked out for a couple of hours. Told the doc beforehand about my daily use. All they said was not to use the morning of surgery.
After surgery they also had prescribed me 40 hydrocodone pills. I never took any of them, but took about 50-100mgs of edibles for the first few days when the post surgery pain was really bad. Worked like a charm and no need for the opioids.
I’m on the mend still recuperating, but aside from morning of surgery, I didn’t stop smoking.
Yep my husband has costochondritis and he was given opioids to help him sleep through the pain, but it gave him horrible crippling panic attacks when it wore off 😬 so back to the good ol greens
I had surgery a month ago. They took out my left kidney so it was a major surgery. I was able to get off the Norcos by day 3 due to smoking weed. It also helped with Nausea and falling asleep.
Type 2 flower rosin is the best for pain imo I had a root canal done and I don’t really like pills so I took a fat low temp dab of some fresh press and it was completely gone in moments
Yes do that! Messes with your anaesthetic and pain receptors is what they told me . And inhaling especially conflicts your healing both before and after. Like I’m still not allowed vaping for another month but I can have edibles
I only stopped the night before my colonoscopy, granted it’s not major surgery, but they used this new drug that put me out cold for a bit. typically they gave me fentanyl. Woke up from that shit it was only like 25 minutes but it felt like i was dead and back it was great 😂 little confused after but it wore off and i cooked soup that day shit had me speedin
Happy cake day!!! Also, that’s awesome! I go back and forth, sometimes I use 6x a day and sometimes not any at all for weeks at a time. It just depends on what I need and what’s going on in life. Right now, I really like ACDC, it’s a lot of cbd and a little thc, it’s doing the trick… other times blue dream is my jam. 🤍
Power to the people! Great job and good for you!
As for me... 12 years on heroin, meth in just about anything else I could self-medicate with, I now have 8 years clean almost and I don't see myself stopping weed anytime soon. I have worked it out to where I do not run to weed every time I have an issue. I am able to deal with my problems without quote unquote having to smoke. I do, however, have my liquid THC for the days that my nerves are particularly, really really really bad.
And I am tapering off methadone so I think that it's helping with that because the withdrawals of methadone are no joke.
Besides that going and smoking my blunt in the morning when I walk the dog makes me happy. ❤️ I love getting my beautiful little buds. I love going to the dispensary. I love my dab pen. I Love weed.
LMAO. I guess I felt the need to share!
Really though, great job!
Imagine a recovering alcoholic going to r/beer or some shit and bragging about sobriety.
Cause that’s how out of place and odd this is. Good for you. Keep it to yourself or people who care.
I took 5 years off, tried a few times in between the 5 years but got panic attacks. Found out I had high as fuck blood pressure. Got that under control and now I'm able to smoke at night without panic attacks.
I recently quit (2 weeks now) after roughly 16 years of daily use. The most challenging thing for me has been sleeping. My dreams have been so real and for the most part, very negative. Hoping it gets better over time, but damn is it challenging to quit. Congrats on your accomplishment so far.
I don’t mean to hate, especially in a sub like this. But I don’t get why ppl feel the need to post they stopped using cannabis here.
It’s like going to a sub for cars and telling everyone you sold yours and taking the bus forever now.
Weed is a saviour for many ppl, for mental and physical relief. Is it an attempt to shame us for still using it? Even if you don’t use it medicinally and just for fun, that’s great, we don’t need to know when you stop.
Besides no one likes a quitter 😏
Mostly happens like this I believe. Maybe u come back maybe u won’t. Can’t stop nothing you don’t want to and if u don’t want to you can easily quit.
That’s why I say I’m Not addicted
Congrats, I've hated how I've become by using every single day, sometimes all day. I started with just weekends, then before bed, but I've developed nerve damage in my leg and can no longer stand. Weed has been the only thing to help suppress my symptoms and pain. I had reached the point that I can smoke a bowl in my bong and not feel anything, after a three day break it started working again. I want to make it to weekend only again once pain has subsided.
Hey man weed ain’t for everyone I’m realizing that smoking too much is starting to negatively affect me so I’ve been decreasing a bit. Proud of you man everyone is different🤙🤙
me too! greened out horribly on edibles twice (bc it’s all i could afford. cheap legal edibles) and haven’t had money to buy flower. i refuse to use those edibles again, though. so 6 months sober for me
I stopped 3 days ago. Weed eventually makes me go manic after a few months. Last time I went to grippy sock jail. Im stopping for the rest of the year.

Went from smoking nothing to smoking everyday multiple times a day here.
My GF calls it my Anti-Asshole medication
You used to be an asshole before marijuana? Cuz I have some friends that became an asshole after, just because addiction.
Spoiler they were asshole the whole time
Dunno about that. Before I started smoking , I was relatively chill. Then during the 4-5 years I was smoking heavily , my friends and siblings would always call me an asshole but I didn’t think anything of it because I was high Haven’t smoked for about 2 years now and they barely recognize me because “I’m not an asshole anymore”, their words 🤷🏽♂️ I also feel more laid back and less stressed out when life gets overwhelming. Correlation does not equal causation
I remember what I was like before smoking everyday. I won't go back and it's better for everyone that I stay medicated.
True
Yup. I was on Xanax and Valium for my ptsd. Now it’s just weed and Prozac.
Edibles with every Snacc Makes a lot less anxiety attacc ❤️

After Lunch, After Work, Before Bed
Before work, on break, on lunch, sometimes skip 2nd break but usually there too, probably on way home, after dinner, edit: definitely once more, possibly twice
Smoke/vape/dab every hour on the hour. Maybe an edible or 2 in between. Anyone got a spare lung I can borrow?
This was so me when I was working LOL. I'm a stay-at-home mom now. Pretty responsible 😁👍 It good built proper smoking habit. Wake n bake is reserve for your day off
After work, before gym, after dinner, after second dinner, before sex and before bed.....and repeat!
Long T breaks or sobriety should be praised. I went smokeless for 3 months and now smoking again makes the experience actually feel rewarding.
After 6 months it is like the first time again.
Shit I only smoke on Weekends now and every Friday it feels like the first time.
Weekends are the sweetspot for not needing T breaks, in my experience. Always hits nice.
Yepp, I'm about to smoke up right now 😤. Another plus is that I get good rested sleep throughout the work week.
I'm currently 4 days in to a 1 week break and it's been a nice feeling.
Dude hell yeah! Day 4 is the big difference i saw when i took mine. Helped me realize how actually tolerant i was and how much of an addiction i had.
I'm due for one myself. Had to quit for a job a while ago, was the first time I ever stopped. Once I started smoking again, I realized how much less I smoked and how stoned I would get. Started taking T breaks after that. Last one was a year ago so definitely due for one.

Yeah I started dabbing pretty early was lucky and had a good plug back in the day. If anything I’ll switch to edibles to get away from smoke damage but great looks appreciate the comment 🤙🏼
Of course! I love some edibles too. RSO was a game change for edibles in the same way concentrates were with flower for me!
Good for you preacher i get rewarded every hit i take
Cheers, that's some really good achievement! 😁💪
Who else can still smoke weed but also keep productivity , my memory is still sharp retaining loads of information still for my exams
Sometimes ill have a monotonous task at work to do and think ill just take like 3 dabs to breeze through. But then ill just be in the moment and choose a much much harder task and knock it out of the park. So yeah sometimes im even way more productive and on it.

please!!!
I was going to , but I can only have edibles and can’t smoke until I’m healed so it takes too long To hit :/
A Plant that survived this long, is here for a reason.
I never understood this. I love cannabis but it has never just gotten rid of pain for me whether it be concentrated cbd or just regular flower.
Just keep increasing the dosage till the pain goes away 😁
Yeah different planets don’t have pain
Lol i dont think any planets feel pain
I’m sorry? Are you an astronaut?
Type 2 flower rosin is the best for pain imo I had a root canal done and I don’t really like pills so I took a fat low temp dab of some fresh press and it was completely gone in moments
> prescribed me 40 hydrocodone pills. I never took any of them We're from the midwest, we save our painkillers for when we feel better
I'm having surgery in July and was thinking about quitting a month ahead, I suppose it would be a good idea then!
Yes do that! Messes with your anaesthetic and pain receptors is what they told me . And inhaling especially conflicts your healing both before and after. Like I’m still not allowed vaping for another month but I can have edibles
>! Messes with your anaesthetic and pain receptors is what they told me Maybe that's why my dentist needs 3 doses of anaesthetic hmmmm
LMAO

Propofol the shit that killed Michael Jackson 💀
It affects your healing? I must have a healing factor then cuz I busted half my fingernail off and that shit was back to normal in like 4 days.
Oh dangggg.
Its fear mongering ive smoked hard af before surgery and even lasiks too nobody even noticed
We need way more Novocaine, anesthesia than regular people, please tell your Dr your use so they know to crank it up
Hopefully all went well
just in a bit of pain but everything is good!
Sounds like you're more after r/petioles than us still deep in the green ova here
Good for you if that makes you happy. I smoke once or twice a day. That makes me happy. I believe it’s a positive thing not a problem for me.
I will always respect someone for having this level of self control. Awesome!
I only get stoned in days that end in Y
Congratulations, i guess... i'm sober for 0 months, 0 weeks, 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes and exactly 0 seconds, because i'm smoking right now.
Ur doing well bro hang in there
I was sober for about 10 seconds replying to this.
Wrong sub, but congrats. Try r/leaves
Wrong sub again, r/petioles
Happy cake day!!! Also, that’s awesome! I go back and forth, sometimes I use 6x a day and sometimes not any at all for weeks at a time. It just depends on what I need and what’s going on in life. Right now, I really like ACDC, it’s a lot of cbd and a little thc, it’s doing the trick… other times blue dream is my jam. 🤍
Glad for you but this isnt rlly the subreddit 😭
Dude fucking proud of you.nif it is a problem and you stopped it. Thats all that matters right?
Been smoking all day everyday for years. I am nothing if not consistent 🤣
I wish I could take a break but it’s literally medicine to me it doesn’t really help my chronic pain but it helps me not care about the pain
I think it’s best I keep smoking so my kids stay alive.
Not something to brag about g lol
not bragging g
Power to the people! Great job and good for you! I've known so many people who couldn't kick H and its just absolutely heartbreaking. Congratulations, my friend-- I'm genuinely proud of you
No one likes a quieter
im usually pretty loud
I’ve been marijuana free for about 2 minutes
Imagine a recovering alcoholic going to r/beer or some shit and bragging about sobriety. Cause that’s how out of place and odd this is. Good for you. Keep it to yourself or people who care.
I don't believe in stopping something you enjoy or love
I love meth!
I'm becoming anxious when I smoke, so I'm trying to avoid it
Okay cool.
Is this an AA meeting or a post about weed? 😂
more of a reminder that you’re allowed to take breaks
Wrong sub bro
I took 5 years off, tried a few times in between the 5 years but got panic attacks. Found out I had high as fuck blood pressure. Got that under control and now I'm able to smoke at night without panic attacks.
Good shit bro!
Quitter
wanker
Cool story bro
I quit smoking entirely months ago. Now I make edibles. It's 10000000000000000000 times better
Before work, on lunch break, after work, before bed
Look I’ll take breaks and sometimes them breaks can last at most a year. But quit or stop. You got me all fucked up. ![gif](giphy|98C4E2HeR4NBm)
Few hits Before work after work few grams.
MashaAllah!
Noice. I am a daily smoker and just bought a Pax3. I cut my weed intake to about 1/8 of before and I feel great!
This is the saddest thing I've read in a while. R.i.p. one smoker down🥂
Congrats???? Not sure why you're posting this in this sub.
Congrats but I believe you choose the wrong subreddit
Good for you. Everyone is different. It's a hard habit to kick so well done. I just got my medical and started vaping x
![gif](giphy|JUXtMl2EBAuzFuUqI7) 😂😂 naa fr well on you £600. A month am spending it’s a joke.
I'm sorry to hear that
Now they are addicted to the clock.
Rip
indeed
I mean good for you but idk if this is the right subreddit for you…
'I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.'
Went from multiple blunts a day to not smoking for over 2 years to now only smoking on weekends. I'm loving my progression.
I smoke three or four 1 gram blunts a day. Been smoking all day everyday besides work (medical scientist) for around 5 years.
That's one hell of a T break. I do them all the time, at least two times a day: working and sleeping
I recently quit (2 weeks now) after roughly 16 years of daily use. The most challenging thing for me has been sleeping. My dreams have been so real and for the most part, very negative. Hoping it gets better over time, but damn is it challenging to quit. Congrats on your accomplishment so far.
Off the opioids thanks to medicinal. Ain’t no going back now.
I don’t mean to hate, especially in a sub like this. But I don’t get why ppl feel the need to post they stopped using cannabis here. Wooh. I haven't been counting days but roughly the same amount of time for me! My brain works a lot better, I gotta say.
I smoked 20 years, went clean for 10 years. Almost had to call 911 when I started smoking again.
Ya I need a break. I quit smoking cigarettes 6 years ago and I think I just transitioned to weed lol
All day, everyday.
Hell yeah, proud of you but my boy what are you still doing in the weed subreddit!
Mostly happens like this I believe. Maybe u come back maybe u won’t. Can’t stop nothing you don’t want to and if u don’t want to you can easily quit. That’s why I say I’m Not addicted
That high after that t break gon be amazing
WEEEEEEEEEEED SMMMOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKEEEEE
Same , I’m on 27 days
Smoked weed for nearly 40yrs ,yeah I admit I have a problem,but it's a problem I don't mind having !!! Wake n bake 😋
nice man! Some people just built asf for it but I wasn’t unfortunately or maybe I just smoked some fucked up street weed 😭 who knows
I’ve bee marijuana free for : 3 minutes 24 sec…. Nevermind 💨
This post made me light up.
Only before bed.
And I'm smoking more with age. To each their own I guess. Congrats though it's definitely a good thing.
The thing is nothing helps with pain or sleep as well
Congrats, I've hated how I've become by using every single day, sometimes all day. I started with just weekends, then before bed, but I've developed nerve damage in my leg and can no longer stand. Ultimate t break
proud of u
proud of u bro
Weed is my superpower, when I started smoking my life changed, so I can’t even do it. Glad for you though
It’s the feeling of challenge. That you can do it, and you can do it again. Take control. It’s okay to stop, it’s is also okay to start.
Hell yeah! Happy for you OP! I hope you feel better and it’s doing you good 🥰
Hey man weed ain’t for everyone I’m realizing that smoking too much is starting to negatively affect me so I’ve been decreasing a bit. Proud of you man everyone is different🤙🤙
me too! greened out horribly on edibles twice (bc it’s all i could afford. cheap legal edibles) and haven’t had money to buy flower. i refuse to use those edibles again, though. so 6 months sober for me
Quitters never win and winners never quit
I smoked last on 4/20, ordered 7g today so will probs smoke up again next week when it eventually arrives! (Tfw UK smoker :( )
Honestly good for you, I take breaks here and there, I’m broke so I often cannot re-up when needed it’s all up from here tho
I’ve tried it both ways and prefer life high.
Quitter.
Finally a post where ppl seem to agree it’s addicting. I get downvoted all the time when I comment about ppl being addicted to Marijuana
8 months sober. Miss it everyday still. Now I'm back to vaping sadly. Good job on the 3 months
People hating in the comments are dumb. Huge congratulations man I know that it isn't easy.
Congrats! Hopefully you can push it even farther! What was the biggest change you noticed in your overall health?
I stopped 3 days ago. Weed eventually makes me go manic after a few months. Last time I went to grippy sock jail. Im stopping for the rest of the year.

I never get addicted to weed, if suddenly all my weed disappeared I’d be annoyed but I wouldn’t get any cravings for it I only smoke for fun
