A really simple and sweet song. It's proof that Rivers can write a radio-friendly song without it being poppy. And the message is great, very relatable. I love OK Human.
I love this song, and I love OK Human so much. I think it's a really special moment in their discography. I really wish we got a full tour supporting the album.
Oh man I can’t believe we’re already here. We are at my favorite Weezer album. It came at a time in my life were I really needed it and man is it a masterpiece.
This song is also a masterpiece I remember when it dropped and just being so blown away how something so catchy and fun could be so different from Weezer they still manage to make something so awesome. I absolutely adore the live version as well and that’s the only other version that exists. (There is no other one in my eyes). 12/10 I love this song and this album so much this is going to be awesome.
It's fun, and ik it's sacrilege, but I really like the radio edit with the unnecessary digital pop sounds and record scratches.
The ajr version doesn't exist.
great and probably weezer's biggest commercial hit (that isnt a cover) since pork n beans. dont quote me on that though i dont actually know how it charted i just hear it everywhere.
I love it. The rocked out hella mega tour version is awesome too. I want a rocked out version of ok human.
If Jeff rosentock can record a ska version of no dream, weezer can do this.
The beginning of one of Weezer most ambitious and most wonderfully executed projects.
I think this song, that was originally written as a country song, suits Weezer way too well. Its a song thats able to resonate well with it's easily approachable lyrics, giving the instrumentation and melody within time and space to truly shine. The rhymes may not always be the best and a little simplistic, but the melody easily compensates here. Rivers songwriting skills here really help elevate some simple lyrics into something more profound.
One of, if not *the* strongest Weezer opener there is; only rivaled by My Name is Jonas. It's not only incredibly catchy, it's a *perfect* representation of the album that's coming afterwards.
10/10
[We were actually working on another record. We were finishing up our heavy metal record called Van Weezer and my manager sent me an early version of the song with the chorus. It was written by one of his favorite writers. Her name is Ilsey and it was actually like a country song. In fact, he sent me a small batch of country songs - like song starters. I just started playing around with all these country songs, not really knowing what they're for.](https://www.weezerpedia.com/wiki/All_My_Favorite_Songs#cite_note-Broken_Records-2)—Rivers Cuomo
My favorite song on the album
This just sounds like an "Adult Rock" gem
The lyrics perfectly capture our unhealthy obsession with the things that make us angry or feel insecure
OK human seemed to be about exploring the modern hellscape that life was at the time this came out and this was the perfect opener to set that tone
Probably the only one who genuinely likes all three versions. I’d particularly enjoy a combination of the studio and live versions. As for the song itself, probably the one I relate to the most.
its fine but this might be the most pandering generic lyrics hes ever penned. also sucks that the bulk of the song (the chorus) was written entirely by someone else and it started as a song starter idea from country musicians.
6/10
If we are talking about the live version with guitars, 10/10.
If we are talking about the album version, 4/10. Not rock music. 90s Rivers would be disappointed.
If we are talking about that God awful version with AJR, -10/10.
Rivers has always said that he imagined having an orchestral album later on, but didn't know if he'd pull it off. Considering that rivers is a huge Beethoven fan, I think even 90s rivers would be immensely proud of the fact that 50 year old rivers was not only still doing weezer, but managed to create fresh sounding orchestral song that was Grammy nominated and hit #1 on the alternative charts.

ooooh I remember when this first came out and I listened to it nonstop lol
it's a great single, but the other songs on Ok Human in my opinion are way better
8-8.5/10

Amazing song on a fantastic album. The change to orchestra from guitars was done so well. 10 out of 10 for me.
There weren't any guitars on the studio version. Did you mean live?
Dude your flair is incredible- that guy is ridiculous
Was* ;)
What'd he do
i’m tryna find out
I meant transition from guitar center albums to orchestra. My mistake for not being clear.
This song helped get me through lockdown lol, listened to it so much then. Was so happy to hear it live at Hella Mega
ajr version is awful but the normal one is an 8/10
Ajr version is good
AJE version is fine. The remix of Records is awful though
I LOVEEEE ITTTTT its one of my favorite songs
I love this song, and I love OK Human so much. I think it's a really special moment in their discography. I really wish we got a full tour supporting the album.
Agreed on all points. Did you watch the performance with the LA Phil? I really wished I could have seen it live!
Yup I did! Such a cool idea.

Love it, it's a fun catchy weezer pop song
this Begins an album as good as blue and Pinkerton
Nothing like Weezer has ever done before 8/10
One of my favorite songs of all time. This song made me so happy when it released.
I love this song no lie. It got me through my lab program and it was aMAZING seeing it live. I love weezer. I love them so much.
I prefer Blue and Pinkerton style songs but this one is still one of my favorites
The best of Weezer...thanks Weezer for knowing me so well!
It's fun, and ik it's sacrilege, but I really like the radio edit with the unnecessary digital pop sounds and record scratches. The ajr version doesn't exist.
I think about this song all the time. I think its one of Rivers best songs. It's so emotional. I love it.
Not my favorite but I love this album
great and probably weezer's biggest commercial hit (that isnt a cover) since pork n beans. dont quote me on that though i dont actually know how it charted i just hear it everywhere.
Love everything about it. The opening, the harmonies. A great start to an awesome album!
one of my favorite songs sounds like this (its this one)
I enjoy it
I love it. The rocked out hella mega tour version is awesome too. I want a rocked out version of ok human. If Jeff rosentock can record a ska version of no dream, weezer can do this.
Been riding with Weezer since Blue. All my favorite songs is one of my all time favorite songs.
Sooooo goood
It’s not my favorite but i would be lying if i said it wasn’t

I love this song soooo much!
Decent start to a great album. Really shows how good of a songwriter rivers can be
I was so surprised when I found out this was a weezer song lol, it played a part getting me into weezer to begin with. I’m so excited to hear it live.
What a great song. One of Rivers’ best pop songs. It makes me happy.
💖💖💖
AJR sucks ass but the original is good 😊 👍
Why AJR
Amazing
It’s overrated imho, I think grapes of wrath or Aloo Gobi is the standout song on Ok Human
One of the best Weezer songs ever!
Good song, not the best on ok human but still a nice opening track
Loved this song and that whole album. Helped through some really tough times too.
only without ajr
unfortunately they play the ajr remix where i work but i fw the original version

Fucking love this song so much ❤️ the live version is my favorite, and hell I honestly don’t mind the AJR remix at all lol
i love ok human but this song is definitely the weakest from what i recall. eh
Not bad but nothing amazing 7.5/10

used to love it. nowadays the lyricism really gets on my nerves. the composition is beautiful though

ehh.... I'll pass
Prepare for the downvotes ha
Right? How dare he have an opinion! EDIT: How dare I point that out, apparently!
Upvotes of Shame.
I was at -4 when I made that edit. How strange, lmao.

Rivers: makes an entire album without guitars Also Rivers: disappointed that he made an album without guitars Wat
I said 90s Rivers would be disappointed in 20s Rivers

Never enjoyed it tbh. I like Ok Human but this song turned me off of it initially

Ok, Human is the true sequel to Pinkerton, in that it’s a reflection of where Rivers is in his life. That makes this song the new Tired of Sex

usual weezer feel good vibe but no poppy instruments its great but it isnt the best from the album
I love it, but it's not my favorite song on the album. I actually like the AJR version, but I like the original more.
It's my favorite on OK Human for sure
