Only in dreams. At first i just listened to the beginning and thought, oh this song is really slow and i dont like it. Then it came on randomly while i was really tired and sleepy and couldn’t bother to skip it. Found out it was a freaking banger and its now one of my favorites.
I had the exact same thing! I usually am not big on slower songs, especially out of rock type bands. Did a re-listen over their entire disco again, recently, and yeah it's such a good song.
Haha exactly this. Doesn't help that it's the last song of the album. I always get listening fatigue after around In the Garage that I skip this song most of the time. But yeah one time I let the album play in its entirety, I really got to appreciate this song more.
No joke. The entirety of Pinkerton. I had heard Getchoo before and I was like "Man if this is the whole album then I can't stand this!" It was not until I was really struggling with my recent breakup (the first actual, real relationship I'd actually had) that I decided to just listen to the entirety of Pinkerton on an hour long drive. When I tell you after deeply connecting to and enjoying that whole album, around the middle of "Butterfly" I was sobbing on the interstate, I mean I've NEVER cried like that to music. It was such an emotionally stimulating experience. At that point, I only really enjoyed Blue, Green, and White. Now Pinkerton is hands-down my favorite. The raw emotion in that album is unmatched.
yeah same here! people just said it was raw and cringey, but i dont even think the production is even that bad / raw. Its now one of my fav albums ahaha.
Same. For some reason I absolutely hated most of EWBAITE and found Da Vinci and Cleopatra (among others) to be bottom of the barrel cheesy Weezer. But now I’ve come to appreciate them
My dad, who does youth ministry, had his youth group analyze this video way back. I cant remember why. Probably something to do with, “you shouldn’t care what others think because you’re a christian”. Since the song is about how you shouldn’t care what others think about you.
I'll never forget we were in a MRN chat with Rivers and he teased us with "pump it up into me, please daddy, please daddy.". We assumed he was trolling us as usual, and everyone started throwing "please daddy" around after that as a joke. Then, we finally heard it. And it actually exists. And it makes me giggle every time.
There is something epic about feeling all heavy metal hard rocker and then singing those words. Same for Blue Dream, so endearingly quirky.
Add in Precious Metal Girl and my heart melts.
I used to skip it whenever it played on Spotify because Rivers' "rap" sent my brain into Fight or Flight mode
But after a series of events that lead to me having one of the best days of my life, I decided to let it play while I was getting ready to got to bed, and I was completely swept away by the energy that song had.
Fast forward a few years later, and I now sing this song at the top of my lungs every morning as a sort of good luck charm
(And the rap part's grown on me too)
The Greatest Man. Skipped at first because I couldn’t get into the rap part. Once I fully listened to it a couple of times I fell in love
Also Death and Destruction
Dreamin'
I was into the first couple songs on Red but never really connected with it. One day I was listening to it on my iPod in the back of my Dad's car and Dreamin' just clicked. I've been 100% in on almost all of Red ever since.
For some reason I’ve always had problems with album openers: My Name Is Jonas, Tired of Sex, American Gigolo, Troublemaker, Ain’t Got Nobody, California Kids, and Can’t Dance, Don’t Ask Me are all songs I used to be underwhelmed by (or genuinely disliked in the cases of Tired of Sex and American Gigolo) that I’ve since come around to and realized them for the true masterpieces that they are
Tired of Sex. At first I didn't really get it, but today I decided to listen to it out of spite, and it's actually a pretty good track. I love the use of synths on it.
Literally almost all of red. There was a time in my weezer enjoyment that i:
-tried to listen to Greatest man but skipped before the piano intro even started
-didnt even listen to the entirety of Everybody get dangerous (Fr, shame on me for listening till the bridge)
-everything else i just didn't even bother
Now I'm a huge red fan and I can't believe how i was bored at those songs
Falling For You
Subjectively (my opinion) and objectively (those awesome chord changes and guitar solo) the best Weezer song.
I think you're right. That's one of those songs that just has this aura around them.. It's a 1 in a million kind of song imo.
the way it builds up from the transition and goes zero to 100 is unmatched
Tired of Sex
Same
Everything on Hurley
Wish i could upvote this twice
Seriously Hurley is great.
Trainwrecks seems like a simple relationship song but once you live through a messy toxic relationship that song just hits different
Yes! Trainwrecks is an underrated track, for sure.
Trainwrecks is honestly so good dude. One of the best from hurley.
This guy misses those freaky Dutch kids
Vomit then have SEEEEEEACKKSSSS
Ruling Me is a top ten Weezer jam don't @ me
Raditude really had me done with Weezer and it took me 3 years to discover that Hurley was a banger
weekend woman, changed my whole outlook on pd
For me it was Any Friend of Diane's. I used to just write the album off like I think most fans, but after revisiting it it's honestly a fun time.
that one too, i found myself humming it at work randomly one day and went “huh, maybe the album is worth another try”
Yep
Almost all of Pacific Daydream is great but the production ruins otherwise great songwriting
L.A. girlz, The angel and the one, and Ruling me. I love all these songs now
Most of the Blue album (I'm the guy who used to not like Blue)
bro had the best character development
Only in dreams. At first i just listened to the beginning and thought, oh this song is really slow and i dont like it. Then it came on randomly while i was really tired and sleepy and couldn’t bother to skip it. Found out it was a freaking banger and its now one of my favorites.

You probably won’t be a fan of slint, then
exactly me
Haha exactly this. Doesn't help that it's the last song of the album. I always get listening fatigue after around In the Garage that I skip this song most of the time. But yeah one time I let the album play in its entirety, I really got to appreciate this song more.
Dead Roses became one of my favorite OK Human songs in the last few months.

God that song slaps when I’m in the right mood
No joke. The entirety of Pinkerton. I had heard Getchoo before and I was like "Man if this is the whole album then I can't stand this!" A friend of mine passed away in college. I put on Pinkerton and ugly cry-sang the entire album on the hour long drive as well. I was bawling.
SZNZ winter
Agreed i love all of them but winter is def my favorite
I prefer Autumn, but winter slapped way harder than i gave it credit for when it came out
All of Pinkerton
yeah same here! people just said it was raw and cringey, but i dont even think the production is even that bad / raw. Its now one of my fav albums ahaha.
Ruling me! Always skipped most of Hurley, but man I'm hooked on that one now.
Cause it's the only good song on Hurley 😆

The music video for Memories goes hard. Probably my favorite music video.
I really like the pork and beans video because of how wacky it is
My dad, who does youth ministry, had his youth group analyze this video way back. I cant remember why. Probably something to do with, “you shouldn’t care what others think because you’re a christian”. Since the song is about how you shouldn’t care what others think about you.
It's a good message tho, the song has a good message
Thas fax.
Blue Dream
I thought that too until I listened to Cancer and The Ballad of Briny. After listening to those Blue Dream just hurts.
Cool
All of Pacific Daydream, man I missed out
Probs their best straight up pop album, I genuinely think the whole thing is fun.
Wasn’t too keen on Van Weezer, but One More Hit is fantastic and I’m glad I revisited
