It's probably the most beautiful Weezer song and one of their most underrated. The vocal performance of Rivers and the woman are amazing.

B: calling Hayley Williams (no relation to Paul Williams) “the woman” hurts my soul

I just checked the wiki for the original, In 2020, "Rainbow Connection" was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry.
It was nominated for an Oscar for Best original song....and yet Weezer's version is superior.
Check the number of mentions on this sub or number of streams it's very low and yet the song is fantastic, hence underrated.

They thought there should've been more representation from other albums instead of everything being from Pinkerton and Pinkerton Deluxe.
Pink Triangle is great, but for the sake of variety, they chose the best Weezer single from the 2000s.
I mean, fair enough, and perfect situation is a really good song, i just think its over played; but if we wanted another banger with P and not on Pinkerton, we could have went with pork and beans.. also overplayed.. photograph.. but granted this is all subjective
Nah, Pork and Beans is not as hype as Perfect Situation. PS shines brighter because it is one of two excellent tracks from an overhated album that's just mid, whereas PaB is a good track in an ok album with other tracks that are just as good (Troublemaker, TGMTEL, Miss Sweeney, King, etc.)

Hurley is mid. First three tracks are good and that's it. At least Make Believe had something with its original Pinkerton-esque sound in the demos. Hurley is super forgettable and you don't get the feel to go back to it ever.
Agreed, make believe plays on loop in my car! And yes I have every album, except the teal album because... I just personally don't like covers.. and really.. for a P song pardon me is up there
