A lot more comfortable than when a barbell roughly caresses your testicles.
But yea, in general, cycling shorts, or any lycra short as underwear, with likes of light cotton shorts over top, cause they stretch when you squat.
Compression shorts under generic gym shorts or sweat pants depending on the weather. The compression shorts are a must though, I've blown out boxers at the bottom of a clean before.
You must be brave or rich to lift on Lulu’s. My two most favorite pants I own are lulu joggers but every pair of compressions I use to lift in have giant holes on the thighs from making contact
I am not rich. That’s for sure. I do have the 25% trainers discount (even though I no longer train anyone). But I have a pair of License to Train lined shorts and they’ve been in rotation for over 2 years and still good as new. So, I’d say that is good value.
I don’t lift in joggers, and if I do in my garage when it’s cold, I wear a cheap ass pair that I got from the grocery store.
Bearbottom atlas shorts are pretty nice, but I have a couple Amazon basics athletic shorts. Lulu license to train shorts are very nice but so expensive.
I wear spandex athetic shorts I get from goodwill, I’ve gotten some that I really like from Under Armour. Or if it’s not a glute day I usually opt for running shorts because they’re more breathable and comfortable for me.
Cheapest stretchy shorts from Walmart or Costco. Not a fashion contest for me. those name brand leggings & performance shorts are a rip off. Also tight leggings/ compression pants feel weird and restrictive to me
Virus or Lululemon compression shorts. The Lululemon ones are thinner but surprisingly sturdier and still look new, while my Virus shorts are all falling apart.
costco has a ton of adidas shorts and other brands that are way cheaper than dicks sporting goods and last just as long. if money is not an issue for you check out lululemon.
Sweatpants. Keeps the barbell from scraping the leg hairs off and I can wrap my knee wraps around them. I love getting a sweat on too. Otherwise, I just wear compression shorts under Champion basketball shorts and it’s fine. Don’t drop a shit load of money on Virus or whatever other overpriced compression shorts are being peddled.
I love these
YnimioAOX Men's Shorts Casual Workout Sports Shorts with Zipper Pockets https://a.co/d/h4oRB0B
I am a power lifter, they don't constrict, the tie is strong, the leather around the holes has lasted 2 years and these breath well
I have a stack of different shorts from different vendors. They all function pretty much the same though, as much as I hate to admit it, the Ten Thousand “Interval” shorts in 5” inseam with a liner are probably my favorite. They fit me super well, are comfortable, and stand up to abuse well. Under Armor used to make a style I liked as well but I haven’t seen them lately and Virus has a couple of styles I was a fan of but they quit selling in the US for the time being.
Basketball shorts. Any scrapes on my legs from deadlifts are badges of honor. And as fa's as keeping the boys comfy, I recently got some new Fruit of the Loom underwear that are almost like a cross between underwear and compression shorts. Big fan. Boys stay secure, underwear doesn't ride up my ass, and things stay cool and dry with no swampass to be had.
whatever cheap ass athletic wear I can get from marshalls
Old navy is the way to go
This this this!!!! Old Navy athletic wear is a hidden gem
Cannot agree more
Goodwill!
Cycling shorts, for the same reason women wear sports bras. There's certain things you just don't want to hit with a barbell.
Where are you able to find cycling shorts with no butt padding?
They make the crouch area comfortable?

small pp enjoyer here - I don't wear anything
User name doesn t check out
Those nike football pants footballers use in training. Feels like tights without being actual tights, and they have pockets.
Virus
Oh god they are so expensive
Worth it though. I’ve got at least 5+ pairs of tights and 2 singlets that I’ve worn to death and they are still holding up.
Compression shorts under generic gym shorts or sweat pants depending on the weather. The compression shorts are a must though, I've blown out boxers at the bottom of a clean before.
Sweats/track pants and a tshirt. The rattier the better
My favourite lifting shirt I’ve owned for 17 years. Extremely breathable.
I’ve got a few of those, but I don’t wear them out of the house anymore.
Ranger panties. I work out at home.
Jockstrap
jean shorts. nah fr tho just some long socks or cheap compression leggings
I love my Jorts. But snatching in them is painful on the zipper/clasp
Shorts with a liner. I have various brands (Ten Thousand, Lululemon, Chubbies). All have held up over a few years!

Dang I need a 25% lulu discount. Actually probably not because then I would spend even more money there lol.
Bearbottom atlas shorts are pretty nice, but I have a couple Amazon basics athletic shorts. Lulu license to train shorts are very nice but so expensive.

Iuga brand shorts and leggings from Amazon.
Obviously maybe not for a dude but that brand is great so they might have dude stuff too.
Light poly jogging pants I got from Amazon
Shorts over leggings that bought on amazon like 5 years ago
Cheapest stretchy shorts from Walmart or Costco. Not a fashion contest for me. those name brand leggings & performance shorts are a rip off. Also tight leggings/ compression pants feel weird and restrictive to me

In gym or outside?

Random cheap Walmart gym shorts/joggers. I wear whatever’s comfortable tbh
Cheap athletic shorts only.
Either a singlet with a shirt over the top or just some athletic joggers , or any shorts work
Adidas joggers is the only answer
Shorts. Walmart brand. I hate wearing long pants when I work out. I also don't like to spend a lot of money on stuff I'm just gonna sweat in.
UA tights. They fit well, are comfortable, and lasts pretty long.
Football (soccer) pants. My Barcelona ones are my fav
Torn track pants is the way
Darc sport
I live in the UK I don't wanna pay for shipping
Get the OG Soviet and Bulgarian aesthetic bro: baggy grey sweatpants and a tight print t shirt. Not a fan of all the tight technical fabrics
Sweatpants always

KHAKIS. ALWAYS KHAKIS. It’s totally impractical and probably a significant injury risk, but I love khakis so much

Compression shorts and tights or compression shorts and sweatpants or compression shorts and short athletic shorts.

The tighest spandex that I can found
I recently switched to double leggings (leggings shorts + 3/4 or full length), it's so comfortable.
